Hey pros crystal here from elite haircare, usa. So today's video we're going to talk a little bit about pcos and hair loss. Now this is something that is very, very common um, of course, amongst women, because it is a woman's syndrome, but it also goes hand in hand with the reason why a lot of you are experiencing a lot of issues with hair loss, hair, thinning hair shedding um Dry, hair damaged hair, so first things first before we even get into the main part of the topic. If you're new to my channel go ahead, hit that subscribe button and also don't forget to thumbs up this video, as you guys are watching all right. So what is pcos pcos is polycystic ovary syndrome, so basically it's a syndrome um primarily in women, where it affects a lot of our hormonal balance. I just use that as just a broad spectrum, but let me also say this as a disclaimer, i'm not a physician. I do not have doctor in front of my name. I do not have a doctor it, but i am a doctor of hair. So let's say that right, but this video is in no way shape or form to treat a actual or a specific issue. If you need any form of treatment, definitely ensure to go to your primary care. Physician your ob gyn, your endocrinologist dermatologist, whoever you choose, but this is more for informational purposes. Okay, so, as i said, pcos is a hormonal imbalance that is carried throughout the entire body. So it's not just about the hair um. It basically is a part of a lot of reasons why we have hair growing in very weird places. It'S a part of our cycle. It'S a part of our pituitary gland. It has to do with so many different parts of our body and pcos is something that kind of can go unknown for a very long time, specifically because we as women, we associate it with this being a regular part of life right or specifically, genetics, not knowing That we're dealing with something that is an actual illness um that affects your life for the rest of your life, all right, so the main form of or the main thing that we'll be talking about today, is, of course, pcos and hair loss and how it affects Our hair loss and some solutions towards helping you get through this storm when you're dealing with the pcos syndrome symptoms. So how does pcos affect hair and hair loss number one? It kind of rolls right into the family of androgenic alopecia, also known as female pattern baldness. Why? Because pcos causes us to have an excess of androgenic hormones, so angiogenic hormones are those hormones that lie dormant within our bodies. A part of the antigenic hormones is testosterone, which is, if you ever heard the word testosterone. It is a male dominated term, but as women we carry that male dominated hormone in our bodies and for a very long time it can lie dormant, dormant meaning it just kind of just hangs out. You know if you're not bothering it it's not bothering you and then one day it disrupts, and it starts to kill away a lot of your female hormones and starts to overpower them, mutate them and now they become androgenic hormones. So your body starts to produce more and more and more of this male dominated hormone. Most men don't grow hair like we do right most men. I pray, don't have boobs. All men, don't have vaginas right. So once this male dominated hormone starts to attack all of our female hormones and starts to take over, we start dealing with symptoms that typically men will deal with i.e, baldness right, so you might have an uncle. You might have a grandfather, a cousin, a brother, someone of that nature within your family, bloodline, that is balding or thinning in the top and crown area right. So if that is happening, we all know that genetically you can't change what god gave you and how he made you so down the line. It could be something that affects you later on. It could be something that affects your children. It could be something that affects their children and so on and so on. So that is mainly the reason why pcos causes a lot of issues when it comes on to our hair, because it creates an excess of those hormones that we cannot control. Now you can't control it, but technically you can't control your body, making excess androgenic hormones. Now you can slow it. You can somewhat control it, but you cannot change who you are in your genetic makeup? Okay, so what are some symptoms or characteristics of pcos when it comes down to hair loss number one on the skin level? Acne is a very big thing. You can have a lot of acne when you're dealing with pcos. You can have a lot of thinning or thinning hair hair loss, limp hair, lackluster, hair, your hair breaks really easily. Your hair seems to always be very dry. Pcos also leads to more shedding in the top or in the crown area more than normal. So you know we shed 50 to 100 hairs in a day, but pc pcos can sometimes double that amount. It can sometimes triple that amount. So it's one of those things where, once it starts or once it really kind of takes over, you start shedding more than you normally would and also typically with pcos, you lose more hair in the front of your head than you do the back, which is the Reason why we call it female pattern: baldness or angiogenic alopecia antigenic alopecia is really just a more medical term. Female pattern. Baldness is the layman's term, because we know that there is a such thing as male pattern baldness, so they now call it female pattern. Baldness because you're, not a man, so that's why they put the word female instead of male. Now, when you are dealing with these issues, if you don't actually know that you have pcos, you won't really contribute this to the reason why you have the things that you have going on, you will look at it as this is just a regular day. You will look at it as oh, you know, i don't know. Maybe i just use the back conditioner. Maybe it's the relaxer, maybe it's this. Maybe it's that and you've gone undiagnosed or even untested for pcos, which there are tests out there. That can be done. Your ob gyn can do them. Your endocrinologist, the doctor of endocrine or the endocrine system, is diabetes, kidney, liver thyroid. So when you hear me say endocrinologist talking to you about pcos, because all of these in doc, in the endocrine system, they all kind of just pair together, so which is another reason why having a thyroid issue, can also lead you into pcos. By having pcos can lead you into a thyroid issue because they are all hormonal imbalances that occur in the body of a female. So, as i said, your ob gyn, your endocrinologist, your family or primary care physician all of those doctors can kind of do some broad spectrum, testing or point you in the right direction of getting those tests done to determine. If pcos is one of the contributing factors to why your hair is doing what it's doing, why you might be thinning, why you might be balding, dermatologists can also look at the topical form of it and then suggest that you go and talk to an endocrinologist or Your ob gyn me personally, those two physicians, endocrinologists and ob gyn, will probably be my first place because i don't want. I don't like to have to go through several hundred steps to still lead up to the same place. Your ob gyn is the first person you talk to. Who can then refer you to an endocrinologist or you can find your own. Trichologists can also help. As you guys know, i studied trichology, i'm a hair loss practitioner, i'm a licensed cosmetologist. I'Ve done all of these things, which is another reason why i love what i do and why i read life to eat haircare, usa, because i've always been in love with understanding and finding out how i can help or make a solution for something that a client Of mine is dealing with, so i'm not just into the cosmetology, because i like to do hair no, i like to help and figure out a solution, i'm a solution, finder and i feel like that's why, god put me on this planet to be a solution finder For people's issues, whether it be hair you whatever right all right so is pcos reversible is it is it actually pcos is or not pcos, but pcos hair loss can actually be reversed if treated early. Now that is the same thing that i tell you guys when it comes on to any form of alopecia. If you catch it early, you can help to treat the issue or slow the issue. If you ignore the issue - and you wait till it's too late - sometimes it really is too late, so pcos, hair loss is definitely reversible if caught early, if treated the right way, and i'm gon na actually give you guys the different treatments that are available out there Outside of medical treatments, you guys, you won't ever hear me talk about capsules that you can go and ask your physician for, like i try not to do that. I am not a doctor. Okay, so um definitely like i said talking to your ob gyn talking to your endocrinologist. The main treatment for any form of pcos hair loss is hormonal treatment. If your hormones are not treated and put in place, you're not going to be able to really help reverse or slow this problem until you do, you can use as much product as you want. You can use as much natural fruits as you want, but if you don't actually begin to work on this hormonal balance, nothing is really going to give you a lasting answer. So i highly recommend that if you are unsure go ahead, talk to your physician about pcos. Ask them if they can test you, there's blood tests that they can do literally in your routine labs. They can add a test to that that can help to define or even circle around if pcos is a possibility for you, okay, um other things outside of hormonal treatment, because that is really the medical answer: hormonal treatment, over-the-counter remedies, shampoos, hair treatments, vitamins, if you guys Remember i always said the reason why i don't offer biotin only is because i believe that the body, including the hair, needs more than just biotin biotin is only one form of b vitamin which is also known as b7. The body needs a multitude of nutrients to be able to treat different problems that also induce other problems, so just using b7 is not going to do anything other than help to yeah strengthen your hair, but what about the blood flow? That'S going on around it. What about the inflammation in the scalp? What about the inflammation in the skin? What about the fact that you might be anemic and your iron levels are low, so anything that affects the blood is going to affect the hair. B7 is not going to fix. That b7 is just going to strengthen that hair and help it to grow, which is great, but it's not going to be a lasting effect, because all you're doing is strengthening it and then eventually you start taking this biotin. And now your body is like okay. Well, you've, given me enough b7, i don't really need that anymore and it starts to fight it off so things like hair, skin and nail vitamins. This is another reason why we have the goddess growth gummies. Those are actually on the way in so they'll be back in stock very soon within the next two to three weeks, they'll be in um. But that's another reason why i'm specific on hair, skin and nail vitamins, because it is a well-rounded vitamin that is going to not only help the hair. But it's going to help the scalp it's going to help the nutrients in the blood it's going to help the nutrients that go into the skin right, it's going to help the nutrients in the nails. All of these systems are tied together. Things like magnesium iron, vitamin, a vitamin b, vitamin e vitamin f a lot of you've, never even heard of vitamin f, selenium b7, also known as biotin. You guys favorite b4 hydrolyzed protein. All of these different ingredients, including magnesium, and i think i already said zinc - are going to be good nutrients. That will help you when you're dealing with pcos and your hair loss issue. These different minerals and nutrients are key to helping to aid your body to build up the strength to start to help, get these hormones back in order outside of your hormonal treatments. So like for myself, i like to use myself as an example. I no longer have a thyroid because of other situations right. So now, i'm known as having thyroid disease with thyroid disease. You always have a um imbalance of hormones, because guess what the thyroid affects the pituitary gland, the pituitary gland affects the cycle. The cycle affects the whole body right. Your pituitary gland is where all your hormones lie. So if you're dealing with pcos you're going to be dealing with things that deal with your thyroid, it's going to be dealing with all of the endocrine system, so things like zinc zinc is amazing for the hair, the skin, the entire body iron. If you have an iron deficiency, you have to get that in check, because if your iron is low, your hair is weak, your hair is limp, remember, iron affects the blood and anything that is autoimmune and it affects the blood is going to affect the hair. Okay. So, keep that in mind when you are making your decisions for the different products that you allow yourself to use when you're, making your decisions for the different medications that you are allowing yourself to take the different foods that you allow yourself to eat. They all are contributing factors to why your body does the things that it does so like. I was saying: over-the-counter remedies, shampoos, hair treatments. I can tell you guys now our soothing balance pre-treatment, our soothing balance, sulfate-free shampoo, both of those contain zinc. Both of them contain zinc. Okay, our goddess hair repair, serum that contains onion oil, garlic, oil, biotin, big, big, big, big right, niacin, zinc, all of our repair and strengthening products are geared around these different minerals. Hydrolyzed protein, our elite repair rx, is the hydrolyzed protein that the hair needs. That is the reason why it helps to slow or even stop shedding within 20 minutes, because it is a full on protein treatment. It is a true professional protein treatment, so the elite repair, rx treats and the elite repair are as hydrate. Those two are your keys to helping to slow your shedding or even stop your shedding, especially for those of you that are shedding a lot. Definitely dealing with the pcos okay um zinc, as i was saying, our soothing balance collection, which is our dry itchy collection. Those products contain zinc specifically because that zinc number one helps to soothe the scalp, but it also helps to strengthen the scalp and reduce the inflammation. Zinc is also very good for those of you who are dealing with things like autoimmune diseases, thyroid disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, zinc is one of those things that is very good for the body and, of course, iron iron is always going to be. A must make sure you check your hemoglobin. Your hemoglobin is going to tell you how high or low your iron is if you're deficient in iron. That tells you a lot so those routine blood works that your doctors are requesting, that you do are checking for the different areas that the basic things that the body needs, such as your hemoglobin, because your iron is going to really affect your hair in its entirety. It'S going to affect how your skin looks it's going to affect your eyes. It'S going to reflect. All excuse me affect all of that same thing with thyroid disease. It affects the yellow around your eyes. If you notice that you have a lot of yellowing in your eyes check your thyroid, everything leads to the same place. You guys, okay, um, hair treatments, the soothing balance, deep conditioning mask another great one. The repair me mask another great one. Hair treatments are basically anything that requires you to sit it on the hair for anything over 10 minutes and allow it to process right. So if you are doing your hair treatments, if you are treating your hair with the love that you're supposed to be treating it with - and you start listening more to your hair, you'll start noticing a huge difference and then the same thing. If you're treating your body and listening to your body and understanding what your body needs and you're giving your body what it needs, then you're in turn going to be giving your hair what it needs and that's really how it works. You guys. So this is another reason why i'm super excited about our new hair care. Success planner that planner allows you to be able to track a lot of the information that i'm giving you guys right now. How is your strength this week how's your moisture content? What regimen are you going to deal with this week? What'S happening with your hair? What is your hair goals? What are you going to be using how much you're going to be using your monthly and routine checks right? Your trim schedule your regimen, our haircut success. Planner is one that is going to help you track and keep a keep real track, real time track of all of this information for those of you that are dealing with any form of hair issues, not just pcos, but everything as a whole. So i invite you guys to grab a copy of our haircare success, planner that planner is really going to change the hair care game for you in its entirety, because now you are being held accountable for everything that you're doing. Also, all the products that i mentioned today, the soothing balance line, is really going to be your absolute best friend. That is what we call a pairing line. You pair that or pair those different products with other products within our line to make a actual regimen that works for you, and also it helps to soothe the itch. It can't hurt for that part right, some other things that we also suggest less direct heat. If you're one of those people where you flat on your hair all the time every day, every other day and you're dealing with pcos, you really need to back up with the amount of heat that you're using on the hair, less blow drying less direct blow drying Grab you a hooded dryer, allow the hair to be dried under diffused heat. It is a lot healthier. It is a lot healthier for the hair. It'S not extremely high heat. Okay, try to back up on as many protective styles as you've always been doing. If you take out one and put in one, don't wonder why this process has gone so quickly and the thinning has happened so fast and it's to a point where you could not control it, because you were not paying it any attention by literally covering it up. Now is the time that if you start seeing the thinning, you need to get a hold of it right now get those labs done. Talk to your physician start those over-the-counter remedies, as i mentioned before, and also look at some natural ways of doing things as well. Holistic is also accepted. Holistic is also acceptable. Okay, so i hope this video was of some substance to you guys who are dealing with an issue such as pcos um. One thing that i can say that is somewhat it's kind of funny to me, even though it's a serious topic and it shouldn't be so funny - pcos induces androgenic alopecia right androgen, which is that male hormone, those male hormones that lie dormant in our body. What they do is they like to take the hair off the crown of our head, but they also like to give us hair in places that we don't want, like that, goatee, that you have that's connecting that mustache, that you keep waxing those hairy legs that hairy Back those are things that androgenic alopecia. They give us hair in places that we don't want, but it takes the hair away from the place that we do. So that is the odd on the laughing part to dealing with something like this, because guess what, in all things, you have to put laughter or you're going to just make yourself depressed right. So i try to use that as a funny joke to myself, because i'm like okay, so you're putting here in places that i would never dream of. I do not want my goatee to connect. I don't want to have to shave, but you will take it away from the place that i love the most, not really a good thing all right, you guys. As i was saying, i hope this video was some goodness to you guys. I hope you guys had some or wrote down some really good notes for the free 99. Please don't forget to visit elitehaircareusa.com to grab your copy of our elite hair care.
