I Changed My Hair... Again! | Sharon Mundia

Hello, you guys it has been a while, since I picked up not that long about five days like a week, yeah five days, which feels like a while um. Since I picked up my camera, I'm trying to get ready because I have a uh, not a super busy day, but I do have a few things lined up and I thought I should. I should probably just pick up my camera again. That'S why uh last week there was only one block up, because I just I yeah I did not have um the bandwidth to con to to Vlog and I also just feel like. I really want to continue with the consistent postings of Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I also don't want to just Vlog for the sake of vlogging, especially when I'm not in uh, when I don't have that capacity for it. So I was like it's not the end of the world. I think I've done pretty well the last couple of months, yet um or six weeks at keeping up with um the schedule. So it's okay! If I, if I uh, fall short in one week, but today I've got uh, I'm going to see, Mark and um what he's created and he's been talking about it. For the last a couple of wait, let me actually I'll be looking at my mirror, which is down here whilst talking to you, so that I I also don't get too late but um. It'S a project that he's been working on and talking about and creating and, like you know, trying to bring to life, for it feels like the last couple of years and now it's like the last like it's there, it's done it's here. I think the last post. I saw of his was doors are open and I I don't yeah I mean yeah for sure he would he was like in November. I don't. I don't think it would be an issue for me for me to take you guys through it and maybe he'll. Even talk through it because he'll do a better job, but it's called the opportunity Factory, and I just have to say like Mark - is a Dua. You know he's a doer he's, not just a talker he's a Dua, and I just find that so inspiring. I find that so inspiring um and he's such a creative as well like he just always has these ideas and um I mean it's just it's just been really interesting, seeing him go from like I have this idea. I want to do this, I'm trying to get the right partners and blah blah blah, and the next thing you know he's like doors are open. Wow um, it's just really cool, but uh yeah. So that's the first thing, I'm doing second thing: I'm doing is um heading back to Adventure Farm because they have Halloween like a Halloween Day set up for it's Family Focus, but you know mostly kids. I have to say, if I'm to do any Halloween activities next year, it'll be a much slower, paced thing like what I believe will be at Adventure Farm today I haven't gone so I don't know for sure, but I believe, like that's what I'm gon na look. Look out for because I went to do I need more yeah. Let me just add a little bit more coverage, but I went to the one at Village Market and look like I like Village Market, but you will not see me at another Halloween night ever. If that's what it's like, it was just so packed and then the kids all over and you're trying to find yours and I'm one of those parents who's like. I just need to be able to see my kid like it's not going to be dark and there's a thousand people, and I'm just like ah they'll, be fine. No! No! Where are you? Where are you that just stressed me out trying to like keep up with all these kids and then how packed it was, but also - and I think this should have been obvious, but it's also a hot spot for pickpocketers, and you know, people who are just ready To silently get something from you that happened to a friend of mine, um and it um, when I told my dad about it, he was like. Oh a couple years ago it happened to his friend's daughter, who was like maybe around 16 15 at the time and had gone because you know Halloween is like the cool spot of Village Market. That whole thing is a cool spot for not just little little kids but like the younger ones, not the teens who are like cool, and you know the cool kids um, and so she she was there and she had her phone stolen there as well. Can you see how dirty my that those are not my lips just in case anyone's like what have you been kissing making out with your mirror? No, that's what happens when you've got little kids. You should find like lip prints honestly see. Isn'T that cute, it's the cutest thing. It'S the cutest thing um, but it's also a little messy, but I I don't mind but yeah so that the fact that it was I mean at one point I even got like like a guard, was trying to stop me and push me away from going back To where I was - and I was like my daughter's on that side - that's not happening like you're, not no, no, sir, and also just as someone who's like introverted being close to being around that many people like. I could just feel myself come into my shell and be like oh gosh. Oh my goodness. I really just want to go. Go home but um yeah, so the night also just didn't end well after my friend's phone was stolen, pickpocketed um, but yeah, but I just I just wanted to say uh. This other Halloween idea feels like more up my alley, or it could even be something at like my friend's house that I do the next time or next year or like with friends, something small eye, more intimate. But I know at Adventure - fog there's going to be like pumpkin, carving, there's a bonfire. There'S, I think a treasure hunt. I saw on the post off the slower paced. It is and like more intimate because the more I'm not I'm like you feel me. I feel you, Let's Do It um. So that's the second thing I brought planned for today and then the last thing is meeting up with um, Dr Karen. I don't know if you guys are have been here for that long, but um. I did used to do these video um. I I did this video series, no one's at my house, so that was a real Panic like just what's happening, but it's just the wind um, but I used to do these videos with uh. Oh gosh, that's with uh! Karen and um, I don't know why. I'M sharing that I just thought like. Oh in case someone does it. If someone is new here and they're like who is that, but she is um someone, I love very very much and we haven't caught up in a while. So that's what I'm doing and we're going to one of our favorite um places to catch up: that's talisman, so much um and yeah. So I'm pretty much going to be on that side of town like Karen area today and yeah any other updates. Oh yes, I wanted to tell you about this. Show I watched on Netflix called Inside Man if you like Thriller like suspense, not horror, just to be very clear but like one of those shows where you got if you're trying to like think through, like what's gon na happen next, how are you gon na? Do it what happened to that guy? That was really reusing. It'S a British show, although the um one of the protagonists is, is a Mary's, an American actor. I don't know his name. I never know names of actors, but it is so good. I really enjoyed it. It'S only four episodes, but it was so nice um anything else. Oh yes, I think the other thing I wanted to kind of touch on was. I know that I had said I'm not I'm not even sure I had put a date down, but I believe I had - and I believe I'd kind of indicated that end of October is when I would tease out or you'd be able to go to, like my Instagram page did I I'm not sure if I took that out to the video or left it in. So if if this doesn't sound, familiar forget it, but in case I I had misled you to think that um, my collection teasers, were gon na come out. The last week of October, like end of October, that Sunday, I'm so sorry, things just didn't, go according to plan and like there's a lot that I um that I'm also learning about this space and uh and - and I mean everything is just so new to me. But what I Now understand is it's: never you, you can kind of plan for it as much as you can, but you have to accommodate or make room for changes and just moments where you have to pivot and and so long story short the collection, teasers and, Like if you want to get um, if you want to get uh and the sneak peeks on the pieces that I'm doing with hakaya, then head over to both our Instagram accounts, I know that we'll be for the next two weeks, we'll kind of be sharing little Behind the scenes and like little moments of me in the dress um, so that you kind of have an idea of what's coming out, we do have a tentative date locked down for when the release will be. I'M hoping the dates stick um, but it's essentially going to be the Sunday the 21st. Let me actually just confirm that by looking at the calendar and see if Sunday is in fact, 21st um I'll also share a link to a waitlist, and this will give you early access um for 24 hours to the full collection. So if you want to kind of jump on that and not miss out, because it's launching the week before Black Friday - and you know the whole month essentially is like a whole big black Friday, okay, like are we just now in Kenya - we've just turned it into Black November um with lots of sales, so because it's launching like just a week before Cyber Monday, Black Friday, it's launching with a 30 discount, but just for that one week after that, it's going back to full retail price um. And I don't know, I don't know why you would want to wait for after you guys. Well, you guys know you guys know how I feel about sales first and foremost, but um, but also like. Why would you why would you wait anyway? And hopefully, everything goes according to plan and there's no delays or anything but yeah. If you do it, I don't know if I've done a great job explaining I'll. Probably do it again when I do have the pieces on me, which will probably be in a video. Let me not see one because I I feel like I don't want to give a date and then leave you guys with like an expectation and then not fulfill it so um. I think the best thing would be if you followed me on Instagram, because I will be sharing more like current updates there um, but yeah at least for now. I just also say I really do love these pieces. Like I, I kind of talking and I'm trying to be like get your get your apples of your cheeks, get it I'm trying to get the exact place where I want to put my blush but yeah. I really do I really do love the pieces like today. Would have been a perfect day to just like rock them, but um. I do not want to take them out. We do have a shoot this coming week, so I just want to kind of preserve and also yeah. There'S just lots happening there, but I just wanted to say I really do love. I really do love these pieces and I hope that you will too um and jump on the discount because who doesn't want 50 talk anyway. I am going to finish up my makeup and head out the door. Let me quickly show you what I wanted to share. Um Advent calendars, chocolate Advent calendars: I haven't moved into other bits yet of Advent calendars like in the Beauty World um. I do think that would be really fun like well. Actually, yeah like life's like beauty products. Would be interesting as an advent calendar, but I haven't, we have we haven't gotten there yet um just wanted to quickly share the ones that I do have in my possession because I went to. I didn't actually go to Sweet street. I was in their DMS and I was like: are you guys? Do you have them yet? Do you have them? When I was at Village Market last week, I did ask them um for the Halloween thing. I was like: what are you guys bringing them out? Do you have when are they coming in um and they said that it was going to be this week and so went dm'd? They said they had them shared the ones that they have and I placed my order there and then um opening um just thought. I would share them really quickly. I got one from Galaxy and the reason I'm sharing is because last time, not last time but like a couple years ago, I went at the start of December and they'd already sold out. Never doing that to myself again I've got maltesers, which this was my favorite last year. So that's actually that maltes, this one is gon na, be mine. I'Ve got milky bar, which I feel like I've always had since a few years ago. Um this kinda surprise. No, I can just prize just the Kinder one. I think we had that last year as well, and then I have this Barbie one um, and this is actually. This was one of the cheapest ones. It was uh 500, Shillings um, but yeah. I just wanted to share because it is the season you'll, blink and it'll be Christmas, and if this kind of thing just helps bring some like, I don't know, it just makes every day a little bit as festive leading up to Christmas. It'S a nice countdown as well um great. I will link uh them in the description box. Let'S go find them they're, like the only candy store Village Market um, but I have to run because I am late. It'S so funny that this is the introduction this wall, but that's such a mark thing to do to like put it on the on the wall and destroy it up. Everything'S been occupied, but by me yeah. Okay, so maybe you could share what like um a place. That'S powered by Sandstorm, okay, but it's more of a it's an idea as well as a place: Okay, so we've taken over this fence, which used, which used to be over quite like because early on? Yes, yes, we'll see it's about one and a half acres, yeah and sandstorms factories here yeah, but then we're bringing in Partners in what we're calling your Collective. So we've got. Ceramicist we've got an incredible team of Stained Glass artists. Yeah we've got a screen printing partner. We'Ve got David DeVito he's got some amazing people making wonderful bucket hats, and what we want to do is celebrate the different brands that we work with right and then also use this as a place to develop products that can be made out of community level. Okay, that's it that's it yeah! He hasn't talked about the restaurant. That'S going to be open here, a little coffee shop, Spring Valley. Yes, yes, so you can come like this will feel you know the plate. You know when you want to be surrounded by like art and craft or um good craftsmanship, and just that this is going to be one of those feel-good places so outside of like the fact that you have this beautiful shopping experience um in the hearts of Karen. You also get to enjoy a coffee read a book like this would be the place. I'D also want to come. If I'm looking to escape and read a book um and Shop a little bit uh, I'm just supposed to come and chill and chill everyone's welcome and chill I'm so proud of you Mark. I was actually saying how you're the kind of person who doesn't just like talk about things. You do the things um. Okay, let's start the tour. Okay, I'm just gon na say if you've been to kazuri beads, nothing looks the same. It'S also different, but I'm not going to talk through the rest of this I'll. Just like show you guys Clips here and there just so. You know so cue a little music moment. Okay, where do you want to go um? So actually, let's go down here and then we'll go to the shop. Okay! Here, wait! Wait! A second look! It'S so different! I'M gon na have to go back so that you see like what used to be Kazooie, beads and now look at that. Doesn'T it look like I don't know, I just I love the wood. I love how it's a bit of an Ode to like I don't know like like crafts, and it's it's like. I don't know if I'm gon na use the right adjectives here, but it feels it feels like it's got character. I don't just I just I love it and the big Windows, let's go inside, let's go inside, oh wow, hope is it okay. If I film everyone like everyone's okay, okay, good, just checking it's okay, okay, good there, this used to be like Beads and Beads and Beads they're, still some beads yeah. So so would this is. This would be like the main, the main shop, and that would mean, like other, like the ceramicists, would come in here and all the other. Absolutely would this also house every single bag that Sandstorm had? Yes, oh oh, I love it screening that off and Landscaping it, but so wow, and what? What is this? What brand is this? Oh, this is actually yeah. Oh um, okay, okay, which is yes, okay, just checking just in case. I got that they've got such beauty beautiful pieces, but why don't? They have more of their pieces? We'Re gon na have we're just you're gon na oh you're kind of okay. Three days ago. Okay, okay got it got it, but then, and then this is Nelly yeah. I'Ve Just Seen their brushes. I probably should get one of these okay gecko as well. Oh nice wow. I love that it's got oh and then um yeah. It'S the afternoon. I saw her tables and um. She does tables as well right like outdoor the outdoor furniture, but this is all this is all hand loomed by these guys in Nairobi, 100, cotton, it's so beautiful. I love it. This is so smart! Oh, I love, and you know I think, as someone who, just like that's why I wish my bags were always look like you should see it. I think that's why I like um transformed, like a leather bag, because I just know I can shove all the in there and it will like it, it'll be fine, but yeah the plumbing, yes yeah. This feels even like almost like um, like refresh like more structured and that thick, I don't know if the stretches oh yeah, this is very different from oh and it's red here as well. So there's like quite a number of differences. No, this feels like it's a like. It could be like a professor's, it's bad. So do you keep tweaking? Does that mean the old versions of Helena we're still doing that in the old in the old material? But this is just a new material. So then, some people like the more refined it's a super, simple failure effect. I just first of all the shade of green, the shade of green four days to beat takes four days to beat one bag. Oh geez, I'm scared to ask how much this one bag costs. Then I think that's about it. Yeah, oh wow. The background looks so pretty I'm no longer at um opportunity Factory, I'm um, I'm at Adventure, Farm now um, but that I just I don't know how to explain it to you. But I find that kind of thing so inspiring just seeing people like moving forward with their vision and like actually moving forward um, because I, like many other people out there, struggle with that and self-doubt and imposter syndrome and like distractions and like does it even matter Anymore and so to see that like slowly come to life, I mean there's still like things that are happening. They'Re trying to plant out like um grass and just put some more Greenery into the place and plants and and flowers, and all of that um and there's still pants to like knock this wall down, extend this um structure out things like that. But for the most part, it's like good to go um! Oh no! They do also have a few other brands uh coming in like the ceramicist. I'M I've been thinking about that because you guys know I've been like just exploring taking a step further into just things that I enjoy. Sorry, the table is shaky. That'S why it's doing that. Maybe I shouldn't mean on that, but um like like, for instance, uh this weekend, I'm gon na try and make sure. Is it too dark? Hey? What is this? No, but the brown at the top is just so pretty, but I was just saying this weekend: I'm gon na try and um go to a plant and flower show just because I just want to surround myself with things that I enjoy. I'M gon na go on. My own and just walk around look at plants that I don't even know what they're called, but it died Mara - it's just it's just yeah, so so to hear that they're going to set up like the pottery and there'll be classes, I 100 will sign up. I know there's another one in lavington. I don't know why I've never actually done it, but um or maybe I can get my cousin to do it because she'd said she'd wanted to so I'll. Ask I'll see when um, when they're opening up at Opportunity, Factory and I'll try and make a date out of it with my cousin, because I know I've heard her talk about uh, poetry and just things like that, but um yeah. It was just. It was just good for myself good for myself anyway, I'm at um Adventure from now, like I said, and they've got these guys with masks at the front by the entrance, like I kind of walked in just being like what are you doing and then he, like, Not necessarily scary for me, but I can see how for kids it would be like the whole thing, there's also a birthday party. I believe, and there's gon na be pizza making in a bit but um. I just wanted to jump in before even like going on to to see Karen to just see how like that was like just for my spirit. It was just before my oh there he is. He really is creepy. I'M gon na try and get him to come here. Oh he's not really looking come on this side. Decide let's decide. Uh! What was I gon na say I can't remember well, I need to put up some uh posts um. I did something that was a little out of my comfort zone for Hotpoint to have sales running the entire month, because you know black November, it's now black November Hotpoint, it's one of the the folks Brands who are running with it through the month and have some. Oh gosh, something just fell but um, and they have some really good deals. So I put up a post that was a little bit different from what I usually do, but I I quite liked it um and it feels like it seems like people have enjoyed it too. So I'm just gon na respond to some comments there and then move around um move around foreign foreign foreign. You guys coming at you uh a few days after my loss did. I feel I think yesterday I filmed a time lapse of me doing my hair, because, while I'm doing my hair - because that's what I was doing and because you can see things are a little different around you, it feels like every other video. I have a hair update. It'S like changing hair, changing hair, changing hair uh, not gon na lie, it's been fun, having fun um with my hair and this time around. I think you can guess where I went and who I went back to uh I'll link, Sophie nope Sophie actually she's the person who just did my nails, um and I'll talk about Sophie in a second I'll link Helen in the description box. In case you want to just reach out, because I I just I feel like I found my person when it comes to installing weaves I've had uh. I'Ve known keeps wanting to stay Sophie, I've known Helen for a long time and she used to relax my hair for me back when I had relaxed hair and um she's, the first person who installed a weave for me and I felt really good about it. So that's who I kind of go back to and she has this weave. I know I've talked about it, but we're gon na talk about it again, because this is my second time wearing it having washed it and trimmed it a little bit so that it sits a little bit better. With my shorter hair um, we did things a little bit different this time around. Let me put my mirror right here, but we did. We did things a little bit different. For starters, I have very little hair. What is that? Oh, it was just fluff uh. For starters, I have um very little hair left out. I have none left at the back, because in the past I used to want to hold my hair up in a ponytail. I don't I don't care too anymore, the hair she washed it and like um, uh, dried it with rollers and and everything and then installed it and then layered it at the front just so that it matches my shorter hair a little bit better. This time we just have a side part before I had so much hair left out that it I could do side middle other side um, but we kept it simple because and actually my initial thought was like. Oh, I'm not going to stay too long with this hair, but I think I might actually stay a month with it, but go back to her in like 10 12 days, no like 10 to 14 days, so that she can wash treat and like blow dry brush. It and the whole works um. I think when I do go though, but that's the thing thing is: it'll mean putting heat on this part of my hair again, and I I already feel sensitive about the fact that uh we went through this bit too much hair talk too much hair talk anyway. Ellen did it. I will link her in the description box. The Weave is great, but it does a great job of blending as much as you know, as well as a weave can with my natural hair. It'S not perfectly straight, which I like um but yeah, and I you can't even tell that I've had my nails done, because I don't think it just looks like bare nails, but you know me and my simple male life um. She did my toes as well. That'S Sophie I hadn't seen Sophie in a couple of months, because I needed to give my nails a break. I think I had just done it over and over and over again and all the constant buffing like I was religiously seeing Sophie every two weeks. All the constant buffing it like those wear and tear when it came to the to my nails, so gave myself a break and I could see as it was growing out. I could see the fresh new nail bed and the one that had gone through it and it was such a stark difference that I was like um. I'M just gon na give my nails like a full-on break, so I waited as long as I could and she came back into it and I'm so excited, and I think now we have a new strategy that we're gon na take that hopefully will make it a Lot more gentle for my nails, because I do love it when she comes in it's just so clean and perfect, and then I don't have to worry about it, for at least you know another 10 days to to two weeks, um and the reason I'm doing all Of this is because I have a trip lined up for tomorrow that I'm just like, oh God, I hope everything goes according to plan, but as of now it's not so it's just a matter of like pivoting like this. I'M not gon na lie, and I think I'll tell you more in tomorrow's video, which won't tomorrow's video for me when I start filming tomorrow, um which actually won't be on Thursday I'll skip Thursday, because I want to have this week's Vlog as its own, and I Don'T want to rush in and if I start vlogging for Thursday, I won't have I'll still be on the trip by the time the video needs to go up on Thursday. So I'm just heads up - I'm not gon na, have a video up on Thursday, but we'll be back to regular programming the next week. My uh, my thing is life. My link is live. It also feels terrifying, I'm just like so many things could go wrong. Please don't let anything go wrong. Please just like, I hope, um, but it's not it's out and we started and we started anyway. So what I need to do now is, I think first, I want to do my eyebrows, because I did not go to see Yvonne this weekend uh, so I need to just clean up my eyebrows a little bit and I want to do that before the light Disappears and then I don't know if you can tell but there's a little bit of packing going on somewhere in the background there, so I need to get to that. I think I might also take a picture because this, like I liked it, I might get my iPhone out and just take a couple of pics because it looks cute like the hair. Just looks like rich and healthy, and you know voluminous um but yeah. I I'm just gon na I'm gon na get to work and probably put you in a time lapse somewhere. No, no, let me do my eyebrows and then we'll see we'll finish up with packing later, but I just wanted to give you an update on hair, which I seem to be doing every every two weeks, I'm like who hair, um and uh plans for the week Foreign, it's a bit better. I look a lot different from earlier and that's because my face is washed. My hair is tied back and I've actually been editing this video and realized - I didn't say good night so or goodbye. So that's what I'm doing here: um yeah! There'S nothing else. Mom, do you want to say hi to my video changed, but just also can I just say by the way, as I was packing, I found this like really cool box like it's like a glasses hold of it like fits for sunglasses or your glasses um, and It was from Urban tortoise and I was like, oh since you know I'm carrying a few pairs of sunglasses. Let me just go back to that one. I found these glasses. I remember thinking to myself, man, I've lost these glasses. I found them. I found other glasses that I'd forgotten I had. I have four pairs of song of glasses of my you know like like your girl, that's not the best. I say so. If I'm not wearing glasses, I've got contact. Lenses on I've got four pairs for the last few months. I'Ve been living with two because I was like. First of all, I didn't even know I had the other one, but I thought these ones because I could remember them. I thought I must have misplaced them when I traveled. No, I just didn't unpack properly when I came back from the trip, so parting words to you, like piece of advice, is check unpack properly. That'S why that's what I want you to leave this last bit of the Vlog with just make sure when you come home from a trip unpack and don't just like shove things away, because you, you might misplace your glasses look!
