This is where people kind of fuck up. ( gentle, music, ), Hey girl. What is up Welcome back to my channel., So in today's video, I'm gon na show you how I remove my own tape and hair extensions at home.. I'Ll give you all my little tips and tricks.. So let's go ahead and get started. All right, so I am due to take out my extensions.. I'Ve had them in for about over a month, now. And so okay, I used semi-permanent hair color to dye my hair brown and it is fading.. So it's like super obvious where my hair ends and the extensions start which breaks my heart.. So I have to take them out and like redo, my hair and I'll - probably put them back in later, but I'll show you how I remove them today and how I retape them for a potential reapplication. And the extensions that I have in they're from West Label.. If you watched my application video, I talk about them there, but they are still holding up really nicely.. I am liking this quality., So I can definitely reuse them again and again., So I'm really happy with how they held up., And this is what they look like when they've been kind of grown out.. So obviously, your hair grows every month, but the extensions do kind of like slip down too sometimes.. So this is what mine look like right. Now. I'll show you some other ones.. Let'S see this is. Yeah they're, all in there., So I got ta, take them out.. So what you can use to remove your hair extensions is alcohol or oil or both., So I'm gon na use both today and I'll. Show you how I do that, but I'll give you a few little pros and cons between each one., So alcohol. I have it mixed in here with some water., So it's like a little bit diluted.. I don't use it straight from the bottle, but I just did like maybe like 2/3 alcohol and 1/3 water, and I have it in like a little spray bottle. So it's easier to work with. This I just got from Sally's it's a remover oil.. It doesn't come in a spray bottle, so it's a little harder to work with.! It'S just like a little bottle like that. So I just kind of stick my finger in it.. So oils and alcohol both work really well.. I know some people use other oils like olive oil, coconut oil.. I don't know. I'Ve never tried anything like that, but I've seen people do it. A lot of people like to use oils because they feel like it's more gentle on the hair, which I guess is true.. But I've done that in the past, where I just use oil to remove my extensions and it was such a mess like such an oily mess. Such a sticky oily mess., Like my extensions, were greasy. My hair was greasy and then it was sticky too because of the adhesive.. I don't know it was so gross., So I prefer to use alcohol to do the majority of the removal.. When you go to a hair salon and get your extensions done professionally, they will probably be using an alcohol to remove your hair extensions as well.. It'S just a lot cleaner in my opinion.. It'S a lot easier too.. Some people don't really like using alcohol because they feel like it dries out your hair or damages your hair.. I feel like'cause you're, not doing it all the time. You'Re fine. And, like I don't know, hair products have like so much alcohol in them. Anyway, like your hair's gon na be fine., I don't know. And it also evaporates too.. So when you get them done like when you get your extensions removed in a salon and they use alcohol like the alcohol kind of just like evaporates, and it's a lot easier to retape them sooner versus, like washing your hair, a million times when you have oil In it. So yeah I prefer to use the alcohol. And then what I do I'll just show you. So use the alcohol to remove the tape and then sometimes I'll go in with the oil.. If there's like a little bit of residue left, I feel like it kind of helps.. So what I'm gon na do is I'm just gon na clip my hair out of the way and then spray this on. And you wan na spray it like on the tape, but also you really do wan na try to get it like in between, like in The sandwich, because that's where the adhesive is and that's where you really wan na, like break it down.. So if you can try to like kind of open it just a little bit., So it is working., Even if I just sprayed it like right on top it does still work.. So I kind of opened it a bit and I'm gon na try to like spray. It in there so that the alcohol kind of gets like in between the two pieces., So it's already working really well.. So I'm just kind of like using my nail and I'm just kind of like working my way, in.. You really really wanna. Take your time with this, because this is where people kind of fuck up with tape ends and then they say tape ends, ruin their hair and like pull out all their hair.. It'S because either they didn't apply it properly or they didn't remove them properly.. So if you just take your time, they will come out really easily.. There'S no need to be like waxing the hair off your scalp.. You know what I mean, Because I feel like that's where people are like ,''. Oh, my gosh, it ruined my hair ,'', but it should not ruin your hair if you take them out properly., So just work. One sandwich at a time remove the whole thing before you move on to the next one. And you will see. I don't know if you can see, but you will still see some of your hair come out and that's because you know we lose like about what is like 100 strands of hair a day like just naturally comes outta, your head., And because, if you have tape, Ends it gets stuck in the tape., So like hair that naturally would've fallen out is stuck in the extension. So that's why you might see like some extra hair come out like in the shower.. It'S not like you're, losing your hair, don't worry.! It'S hair! That would've already come out if you weren't wearing your hair extensions., So that came out really well.. So I'm just gon na take a little rat tail comb and just comb through to remove any extra residue. And that actually feels really good.. I don't feel like there's any stickiness left behind, but sometimes if you do feel like there's still a little bit of residue. That'S when I'll go in with the oil and I'll just kind of like go like this put a little on my finger and then I'll. Just kind of like rub it on top. And then again maybe go in with the comb., But yeah. There wasn't really anything there. So I'm good with that one., But sometimes, if there's like little chunks of adhesive, I don't know it also kind of depends on what glue or like what tape, you're actually using.. This one was actually fine.. Sometimes, if you're, I don't know, I've used other brands before and the adhesive kind of leaves like little balls of residue behind and you really have to work it through. But this one is pretty good.. So I'll show you another one, just to kind of give you another example., All right, so spray it on kind of massage it.. You can spray both sides too, if you want., And then I'm just keep my nail and just kind of like trying to open it. A little bit., Maybe I'll spray again., And just like carefully using my nail trying to open the sandwich.. So there's one half and there's the other half. And then what I do is I just stick them back together, like put the sticky sides together and then just like leave this on my table. And then I'm gon na wash them after with the sticky sides together.. But then, when I retape them, I'm gon na open them up again and like put the tapes back on., You don't really wanna. Leave them stuck like this, because then they could reseal and like re-adhere together.. You know what I mean And then you'd have to like open them up again.. So if you're gon na be retaping them, I would retape them right away so that you don't leave them sitting there to like adhere together., So that one is a little sticky. It left behind a little bit of residue.. So again, I'm just gon na go in with the oil just like the tiniest amount ,'cause. Otherwise, like I hate washing out so much oil from your hair.. So just like a little bit. And then again go in with my comb., So you can see. There'S like a little bit. There. Just kinda work it through. And it helps if you have like, maybe like a paper towel or something where you can just kind of wipe. The extra residue off. - And another thing I wanted to mention - is I just put like all the tapes in one pile.. I don't really sort them by like placement, because I don't really care about putting them in the exact same spot, because I don't layer, my extensions, like any particular way., So it kind of doesn't really matter where they go back in.. But I know some people like to put the same ones in the same spot. Like if you have layers or anything like that.. So I don't really do that.. I feel like it's like way too much work to like reorganize them in the same sections.. But if you do wan na do that, I have seen people use like place. Mats., Maybe I'll, insert some pictures, so you can kind of see what I'm talking about where they like place. The tapes on the place mat to like reorganize them or some people use like different methods where they kind of like do maybe like the left side first and then put that in a little pile in a particular order and then do the right side. In a particular order., That's like way too much work for me.. I don't really care about stuff like that., But if you do wan na do that there are a few ways to organize your extension. But girl. That is like way too much work for me.. I'M just gon na keep going with this and I'll. Let you watch me.. So what I do is I work from top to bottom, but I feel like it doesn't really matter if you wan na work bottom up., But I feel like working from the top to the bottom is like a little easier ,'cause. You don't have to like clip up all the extensions., You just clip up your actual hair and then work down., So I'll just kinda like speed this part up, so you guys can watch me and then I'll. Let you know how the retaping and the washing process goes. ♪, Walking on fire, trying not to burn my feet: ♪ ♪, I'm tired of fighting ♪ ♪, Saying things we don't mean ♪ ♪! No, I don't like it ♪ ♪ When you're packing your bag and turning your back ♪ ♪, Calling me a liar calling me a liar ♪ ♪ Trying not to let my feelings get to me. ♪ ♪. Sometimes I can't let them go ♪ ♪! So now I've got these voices ♪ ♪. Now I've got these voices in my head, ♪ ♪. I can't focus ♪ ♪ Feels like I've been hypnotized ♪, So to get rid of the extra residue ,'cause. There is still a little bit of stickiness. What I'm gon na do is I'm gon na saturate, my hair, with this guy, the Fanola restructuring mask.. You can use any deep conditioner. Make sure it's like a really rich ultra rich, deep conditioner.. So I'm gon na cover my hair with this leave it on. For about, like you know, whatever amount of time, 10 minutes, 20 minutes and then shower. And then in the shower. I'M gon na take a comb like this like a wide tooth comb and just gently comb through the hair, and this will get rid of that extra residue. And you might have to do that like another time.. So if like tomorrow or something I wake up, and my hair is still like a little bit sticky, I'm gon na do the same thing. Do like a deep hair mask and then in the shower comb out my hair gently and then that should do it. And I'm gon na also wash my hair extensions too and I'll show you how I retape them and stuff. All right. So after I shampoo and condition the hair extensions, that's when I'll separate the pairs and I'll let them lie on a towel just to air dry and I'll leave it with like the sticky side facing up., And then you wan na do your best to remove the Old tape.. So if there's like a big chunk of tape like this, try your best to peel it off.. If there's still, some residue left behind that's totally fine., If it's still like sticky, you don't have to like take all the stickiness off just like the big chunks. And then I'll get my new tape.. So you just have to peel it off and apply it right on top of the sticky part and then leave the backing on there.. So obviously you know you peel that off when you're actually doing the application., So you just repeat this process and apply all your new tapes to all your extensions. And then to reapply it. You can just refer back to my application video., So you just reapply it as you would like a new set of hair extensions. And that's it.. So I hope you guys found this helpful.. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments. And I'll see you guys in my next video. Thanks for watching. Bye,

Krista Anne Piper: Thank you for posting this! So clear and informative.

Ashley Purcell: Coconut oil works on mine so much! Now it is super oily but works so nicely and doesn’t ruin my hair! Makes it soft too.

Maria S: For the layering part , I advise to get a styrofoam head and place them on that after removal

Hayley Watson: How many times can you re-tape the same hair? I’m ordering some Russian hair that should last 12-18 months but I keep reading (albeit on cheap hair websites) that they can only be re-taped 3-4 times

Míriam Gálvez: Thank you so much for this video!!

Shellz Square: Great video. Thank you!!!!

Maria S: I’m gonna test the alcohol remover theory on a wig first cause when I removed my hair w the oil , it really removed my hair from my scalp , had to take a painkiller later, had a headache for 2 days.

Rachele Kramer: I've seen a couple of your videos on hair extensions.. I have to ask, since you have alot of experience with many brands....what your favorite on the affordable brands as far as long lasting tape and the longest lasting hairb itself???thanks ❤❤❤

Emilia Joy Ordonez Kennedy: I just removed mine on Saturday and washed my hair and the extensions and reapplied them the same day

Emilia Joy Ordonez Kennedy: How long does it take you to remove the extensions off to later reapply them again?

Justice Czarnecki: can you put them back in with the method that is for high pony’s? i love your videos!!

Jaclyn Lonson: Sadly, hand sanitizer is the only thing that works for me. Not very professional but it's the only thing that gets mine out. There's a tape - in remover from Utah(they won't ship to Canada unfortunately) that dries after a few mins / you can re apply instantly without having a gross mess/have to wash the hair, dry, then reapply.
