Moroccanoil Hair Products | Best And Worst

Hello, i'm so glad that you're here with me today, we are going to be looking at my rather extensive collection of moroccan oil products. I purchased all of these myself. One of my wonderful friends, laura is a hair stylist and she turned me into rock and roll when it came out about 10 or 12 years ago, and i've been hooked ever since, so we'll go through all the products that i have and i'll. Let you know what is holy grail for me and there are a few things in there that you know just really don't work super well for me, but i've hung onto so i could talk to you about them if you're new to my channel. Okay, before we go into the products, i just really quickly wanted to tell you a little tiny bit about the company. I always think it's kind of interesting to know something about the companies that we're talking about and moroccan oil co-founder carmen tai was miles from home when, after routine color service went awry, she experienced the powerful moroccan oil treatment while traveling as she witnessed the transformation of Her hair instantly revitalized going from damaged to shiny, smooth, manageable. She went on a quest to share the magic of this argan oil hair treatment with women across the globe. One thing all the products have in common is that they have a very light lovely scent to them. Let me go and read you how they describe that. The signature moroccan oil scent is an iconic juxtaposition of notes that transport, the senses conjuring images of relaxing beachside vacation and the feeling of indulging in a luxurious spa, a highly regarded and truly distinctive fragrance spicy, amber aromas merged with sweet florals capping the sensorial journey with A soothing experience to remember so that's kind of how i think of it. I think it just kind of is a very light, very soft, pleasant fragrance, and i don't smell it that long, it's nice, while you're shampooing and all that and for a few minutes after, but i don't smell it in my hair all day. So i think it kind of at least on me dissipates pretty quickly. Let'S start with the product that got me so hooked on moroccan oil, moisture, repair, shampoo and conditioner, they color code, all their shampoos and conditioner like this. So the blue is always the shampoo and the white is the conditioner. So if you're nearsighted, you can just reach for the blue and no shampoo reach for the white, you know it's always conditioner and when i first used these oh my gosh, my hair, just not only felt nourished and hydrated, but i had fullness and shine after the First, shampoo - and i was like - let's see you know because you know as soon as you use a shampoo the first few times, it's like really great and then it just kind of goes down after that it just you know, kind of gets more length. I mean my hair is very, very straight uh, it's very fine. I have a lot of it, but it is straight and fine, so i always give things about a week before i'm like yeah. It'S the best thing ever well guess what it just got better and better and better, and i feel like at 53, i mean i do do things kind of thinking outside of the bottle. The shampoo bottle um for my hair, such as you know, sleeping on silk. Pillowcases, i take a supplement. You know, i use the you know, kind of silk scrunchies and things like that. So i do other things. I use very good quality brushes, which all help, but before i was doing a lot of that, i had the pillowcases and stuff, but some of the things i wasn't doing yet. This was a huge difference and i just cannot speak highly enough of the shampoo and conditioner now i want to show you some sizes real quickly, so this is the liter, so this is 33.8 fluid ounces per per bottle here then they also have this size here. These are 16.9 ounces and then the most common size is this. The eight and a half ounce so i'll hold up one of each. So you can kind of see the difference like this, and then they also some babies in travel size that will show you um kind of what you can get travel sizes. These cool little sets that come out a lot of times are the holidays. I highly recommend picking them up, they're, usually a pretty good bargain and then they're wonderful. You know for carting around your things. I'Ve had one of these. I think wait this one here, this little kind of travel set size thing. I'Ve had this for probably eight or nine years and great quality bag, and i just keep refilling the little minis that were in there next we'll talk about the hydrating, shampoo and conditioner. I feel like this. One works very much like the moisture repair, but for me somehow, i just get somehow just more bounce and volume and shine from the moisture repair. This is just my favorite. Let'S see what moroccan oil says in the description, so we can kind of compare the two. The moisture repair they say is a gentle cleansing, fortifying formula that rebuilds damaged hair with antioxidant, rich argan, oil, reconstructive, keratin and fatty acids to restore elasticity, moisture and shine, and the hydrating shampoo. It says gentle cleansing, moisturizing formula that infuses dehydrated hair with antioxidant argan oil and replenishing nutrients, adding smoothness manageability and shine, so they kind of sound like they do the same thing. But for some reason, if i were just going to pick one, i would pick the moisture repair, they also have a volume line and the shampoo and conditioner of the volume line. For me, i don't really notice a huge difference. I feel like. Maybe it's a little bit lighter like when you actually, you know put it in your hair. It definitely feels different. I don't find any extra volume really you know over the years at first i thought i did uh, but now i don't know i'm actually running out of this now, i'm down to probably you know just a little bit left in each of these and i'm probably Not going to repurchase this, that's not to say their styling products aren't good that are volumizing, but for me the shampoo and conditioner. I just get better results with the moisture rich or the hydrating we'll get into the masks. Next. I just want to show you these little sets that come out sometimes uh during the holiday times. They usually have four items inside. It might be like a mini shampoo, mini conditioner, uh, an oil, and then maybe you know a little texture spray or something like that. It always kind of depends so over the years. Let me show you what i've gotten your little mini um oils. This is what dry texture spray. This is prevent and protect, and then mini shampoos and conditioners. So i love having these minis to refill and take with me. Obviously i can't refill this, but these have been refilling forever. Let'S talk about the masks now right now i have the weightless hydrating mask and this mask is a mask that while it will give your hair hydration, you will really not at all feel that kind of slippery feeling a lot of times you'll get from masks when You'Ve rinsed it out also your hair will be quite volumized when you're done using it. In my opinion, if you don't have kind of straight, you know thinner, hair. You may want to go with one of the more hydrating masks. Those are all fabulous. I probably tried every single mask that they have. I just happened to have this one right now and when i ran out i'll pick up the next one. Usually i have two at a time but um i kind of ran out. My daughter went through a stage where she's put a lot of masks in her hair, so we were kind of tearing through the masks more quickly than usual, but i would really recommend any of their masks. In fact, i had a co-worker and her hair got fried. I don't know if it was color or or what but her hair she's. Just saying. Oh my gosh, i don't know what to do and i told her to get uh the most hydrating of the mask i'll pop up. Whatever the name of it was. Oh, i got ta, look it up. I don't remember. I don't wan na tell you the wrong one and she called me back and said: oh my gosh. It just restored my hair. My hair looks so much better. So you know if you're gon na use a mask if you want to really get the most bang for the buck, because obviously none of this is really inexpensive. Make sure you very gently towel dry, your hair. I would highly recommend using like an aquas hair, towel or hair turban, or something like that and get some of the the water out of your hair, and then you know very evenly apply it all over uh. You know your hair, probably you know to the length of you, know the ponytail parts of it, although what i'll usually do is i'll put a lot into the lengths of my hair and i'll take some and i'll just kind of you know smooth it. On top of the rest of my hair kind of avoiding my scalp, because i don't want to get too much in my scalp, because i've got such straight hair, i don't need anything else to weigh it down and then, if you can, if you have time put On like a plastic shower cap, if you have one and then just leave it on for 20 or 30 minutes to get the most hydration that you can, you don't have to do that you could just go in the shower. Do it? Maybe then you shave your legs and take some time, but the longer you can leave it on the better. So the masks are top-notch. One of my favorite products is the volumizing mousse. I love this because i do get some great volume, but it's not super sticky. I can still brush through my hair easily. It doesn't dry out. You know some mousses kind of seem to have too much alcohol or something in them and it'll dry out your hair. But i could put this through all my hair. If i wanted to - and i've done that before, if i really want volume and really want uh staying power to curls or whatever i'm doing - and this stuff is just the best uh moving on to a couple other products here - this is a dry shampoo. I don't use dry shampoo a lot, but this works nicely. I don't think it works like a ton better than other dry shampoos. I have used that i, like um. There are some less expensive ones, like my chlorine um trying to get some others, but but you know it's good and has a nice fragrance and it doesn't show up in your hair. So i do like it very much, but i don't use dry, shampoo, a ton. So um, you know it's very good, but you know you could probably find something else that works now, this beach wave mousse. This is the biggest stud for me. I have tried everything, but it's so so sticky for me. So i think, maybe if you had a hair that had more texture to it, maybe you have waves and used a very little bit when your hair was damp. You might get those great pretty beachy waves that stay, but for me i just even tried to use just a little bit almost as a root boost. I i just can't get this to work, it's so so so sticky. I can't brush through my hair. So this one for me is the one product of all their products, and i love rock and oil dearly. Obviously um that just doesn't work and you know maybe you can get it to work. I haven't read up on reviews. I thought i'm just some. You know idiot who can't get this to work in her hair, but other people have the same experience. So it's not just me the dry texture spray winter winter, chicken dinner. I love this stuff. I can spray as much as i want my hair and it will give me volume and texture in fact a lot of times i'll spray it in my hair. You know and then i'll hair spray it afterwards just to kind of get. You know it all really locked in. I use it at my root before i back comb after i back comb, sometimes to get a little extra hold there, and i love this so much and it doesn't feel gummy at all. You can brush through your hair, but you get that volume and it stays so this stuff is amazing. This is the perfect defense heat protectant spray protects your hair up to 450 degrees. I use this probably every day i just do a light spray. All over my hair and then i'll flip my head over to the bottom of my hair. If i'm going to use any sort of a heat tool, you know blow dryer flat iron curling wand. Whatever love this, you get great protection and it doesn't seem to change my hair. You know it's not adding any weight or anything to my hair, which to me is really important because you know like i'm, always saying it's long, it's straight thin. I don't need anything dragging my hair down now. Let'S talk about the moroccan oil treatments. If you're worried about using oil in your hair, don't there is a light version, there's a regular version. I use both uh pretty interchangeably. I think i just use maybe a little bit less when i use the regular versus the light. I'Ve got the light going right now and it does come in different sizes. So if you want to try the small one, this is 1.7 ounces. This is a 3.4 ounce. This is a 3.4 ounce size. This one is bigger than what you saw in my little travel case. Let me show you that little travel one is much smaller, so this is the 1.7 ounce, so i just take a pump or a half pump. I go ahead and i kind of rub it between my palms and then i'll go ahead and i'll apply it. You know kind of to the ponytail lengths of my hair when it's wet, not sopping wet, but you know when you've it's going to stop dripping is when i usually apply it and it actually helps your hair dry faster, and i don't know why that is, but It does, and i think that it keeps your ends - super super healthy. I think my hair at 53 is the best shape it's ever been in my life, and i think that you know morocco. Products are part of the reason. This is the root boost and i'm kind of lukewarm. On this i mean it sort of works for me, but not super well, so i just couldn't highly recommend this um. It works for you. Let me know i'm curious, but i've had this for a long time, and it's still about i don't know halfway three quarter full, i just don't reach for it. Glimmer shine. Their shine. Spray is wonderful. I just spray a light mist like two sprays up in the air. It'S super fine. I let it fall on my hair and i get a wonderful shine to my hair that lasts really long. It doesn't weigh it down at all, so i would highly recommend this. I'Ve been using it, you know pretty much since it came out and love it love it love it. I always have a spare on hand. It is in a glass bottle, so for travel you got ta wrap it up, be a little careful with it, but it's fantastic. The moroccan oil thickening lotion. I absolutely love. I think that this works super super. Well. What i do with this one is it's a cream, you just you know, pump it out onto your hands and then what i'll do is. I will work this through. So if i've washed my hair right, then i've applied my oil to the ends. Then i'll add this thickening lotion to it and then i will start to blow dry um. You know i'll put the mousse on top of this, but i use the most more my roots in kind of my bang area, and i use this in a long part of my hair and it really really helps with volume. I just feel, like my hair moves nicely all day long when i use this reach for this all the time and i've gone through tons of bottles of this, the luminous hairspray is lovely. Has that same amazing scent? It adds some shine to your hair and it comes in a medium hold, stronghold and extra stronghold. This is extra strong um, but for me it's nowhere near as strong as the camera volume 25.. I do like this very much. You can still, you know, put your hands through even this extra strong. I think the medium is totally more of a finishing spray if you just want a very, very light hold um, so i kind of feel like the medium is light hold. The strong is medium hold and then this is somewhere between medium and strong. I don't, i still think it's super super strong, but i do use it and i do enjoy it and i have liked it for years and years and years, but a lot of times. I will use this when i want lighter, hold or i'll throw a bit of this on top of my camera volume. 25.. Now for some of the products i didn't talk about, they have a line for curls. That i understand is fantastic people, absolutely love that oh and i also have a moroccan oil hair brush. I have two of them. Actually i also have the one that they have it's a skinny one, that's kind of more for teasing your hair, and i love that. But i i took it on a trip recently and i think it might still be somewhere in one of my little travel toiletries cases because i was looking for it. I couldn't find it. This is a boar hair, bristle brush that they have it's very, very nice. I'Ve not tried any of their styling tools, they do have hair dryers flat, irons, curling irons. I haven't tried any of those before so i would love to know. Have you tried any of those anyway? I hope this information was helpful for you and again.
