Enjoy!!

And today we are here with the award-winning MC barber, hey everyone. This is MC barber. Today I have old gentleman's haircut for you. I decided to make this haircut a little bit different than I usually make my haircuts. I tried to usually do haircut by the book. Very first, you know with a precision technique. That is that you are taught in the school, but today I decided to do this one slightly different. I decided to do it the way we do haircuts every day in the barber shop or salon when we are behind or then want to rush all, but we want to cut a cornice rather than go by the book and follow the you know section by section. So here what I'm doing is first, I decide how much I want to take off. I show my client and he says yeah, that's fine about half of it and I'm starting from the right temple and I'm taking sections. This is how you will be. You will see in many barber shops and salons. They will be taking sections rather going palm to palm and going you know quarter of inch sections when you got to see your guide and every cut, which is actually the proper way to do. But a lot of times a lot of barbers and hairdressers actually don't follow that system. So what I'm doing here is, as you can see, I'm doing something that is really done very often in a barber shop, but I can still see my guide what I'm taking my section there. You see how thin the sections are and I'm almost picking up the hair, the section right on the place where I left off that way. I don't have big jumps from one section to another section. So it is you. Can you see? I can see my guide right there, I'm trying not to all you know, take huge sections, so I can. Basically, I don't want to go from one side to another side. In 3, 4, 5, 6 sections, I'm still trying to take a lot of sections. That way, my cut comes out more even another thing I'm doing here is from occipital bone and down. I didn't cutter here, I kind of left it all the same. You know left it alone for now. So next thing, instead of cutting from the crown I started from the front. That'S another thing: you see a lot again, I'm trying to pick up the hair right in the spot, where I left it that way. My cutting comes more comes out more, even I'm not finishing the top only into three sections, even though this hair is pretty keen. So this is another way that aircrafts are done in the barber shops and salons, and this is really, if you do it this way. This is, I think, pretty good way to you know, followed by to take your sections close to one another, as you can see here so now, I'm connecting the top we go back. I'M excuse me, I'm connecting the top with the side trimming his bangs a little bit. I usually don't like to make the bank's, even unless this hair is very thin. If the person has thicker hair, I kind of like to make up slightly uneven, and I like to picture, I think on all gentlemen's. Usually you got ta trim the eyebrows trimmed a year here all right, so my next thing here would be to cut the nape area and sideburns area little shorter. So we are keeping this kind of longer. I'M going to use number eight or one inch and I'm going to cut that up to execute all bone and blend it into my scissor cut a lot of times. Barbers and hairdressers will start with this first and then do the scissor cut. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. You can do that as well. I just chose this time to do this way, so you can do this part first and then you can do your season work after this now I have half an inch or number four. I just like to get the nape area slightly closer. I won't go as high doh now I'm making this haircut very simple and easy for a person who is trying to learn how to do cut hair in a salons and barbershops, but this could also be done with a scissor over comb. It will just take more time, so I decided to do it for the technique. Oh for the video with a clipper and make it easy here. Now I'm going to create a line. When I use my edges, I always cut a line first, either on the sides or on the bottom, and now then you connect them. I try to keep it as white as possible, or rather are pretty natural with a hairline. Now I'm going to go to my next step clean up clean around the ears a little bit more, I'm not going too high, even though it kind of looks like on the video here, but I'm trying to stay mostly around a year as you can see here. I'M not going hard whatsoever now. I will also use again number four or have an inch do the same thing I did on in the nape area. Honestly, I kind of enjoy doing these type of haircuts. These days, we've been doing so many fades, and you know a shape-ups and blow drying and styling and for change it's kind of nice to get something nice and simple and traditional. So sometimes, when I get a plan like this, I really enjoy it. It really is fun to do a haircut like this, you just to make sure all the years is nice and clean same thing on the other side in the headlines, all right now for this step. This is when you do scissor over comb. I decided to do clipper over comb instead, just to show you a different technique, I'm trying to make sure that my haircut is nice, and even so, instead of doing scissor over comb, this is equivalent to it. I'M using or all-purpose home. With my edges. The hair is being fine, I'm really not cutting much at at all. That'S why I'm able to go pretty fast with the edges. Otherwise, if you are removing a lot of bulk, your edges are not really strong enough, especially if you go that fast. So this is pretty much what I'm doing right there. It'S a nice technique. We can also really find your haircut remove any excess hair that you might have left behind, especially when you do the sections the way with the scissors. The way I do that this haircut and you don't follow like a precise quarter of an inch section one after another, rather you actually are visualizing or eyeballing how how much you taking for a section. So this is definitely important to do on VMA degrees or scissor. Over comb and for the end, if you don't do this, for all gentlemen, they'll be pretty upset, because this is the best part of the haircut for them. They, like straight edge razor. This is something that was very popular and there. It is folks or hairspray to style it, and thank you very much for watching my video. Please don't forget to subscribe until next time and see Barbara

Jo Ann Hanebrink: Well done -- my husband liked what i did with Wahl clippers the first time, and now with this video I have more confidence. Helpful to see the head in 3 sections.

This is by far the best, especially, as other commenters have said, I'm not looking for fades or anything fancy. Thanks for the details and helpful commentary!

Celebrated Razorworks: Thank you for your patience and wisdom my compatriot. You have a gift not only for this art form, but also for instructing others so they can elevate themselves along side of yourself. A great way to live, I envy you and aspire to help others too once I reach a level that will just become a flow one day. This cut right here is the example I need to help level up. I love this cut for my demographic, even younger folks now want longer hair tapered. After viewing your instruction here I was able to give a mostly scissor cut at a park on a bench, while finishing up I had my cordless and tapered buzzer over comb. It came out brilliantly! Best to you and your future endeavors. Looking forward to more... Cheers. Robert M. - CelebratedRazorworks

Megan Snow: Yes! Thank you for doing something besides short fades and low guards! Excellent video

Cindy Watkins: Nice work! I cut hair on my guy in May 2020 during COVID. I did not know haw to do the back and sides very well so I left them long. Now I see how you did it. I have those Wahl trimmers so I will try those next time. Thank you. Your are a professional!! My guy likes it a little higher and tighter in the back.

Rebecca H Sussman: I love your video and my husband says I cut his hair very well--this is due thanks to your much-appreciated video which I review every time I cut my husband's hair. Many, many thanks. ☕️

Julie: Very nice! Thank you, now I can properly cut my dads hair.

lucianoromero777: Can you do more classic men's cuts. You are like one of the only barbers who can, most YouTube so called barbers are one trick ponies and can only do fades. Thx MC

Executive 65: This is just what I needed. Thank you!

Tom McGraw: Thank you for this tutorial. Your higher paying customers want this - not a fade or pompadour. I especially liked the finish with the comb and edger; never seen It done that way.

Michele Hauter: I thought it was the best cut for the men, very nice. And the guy was professional doing what he did best. The barber did it the way he felt he thought it should be done. Still professional. Great job, kudos to you

joannegrace Cali: terrifically clear and instructional video. Fantastic haircut.

Siavash Eskandary: This is really very helpful tutorial video thanks a lot bro, but I would like to ask you a question if you really don't mind. When you used the Guard number 8 after that did you jumped to guard 4 is that possible not to damage the haircut? I'm a barber trainee if you answer me I do much appreciate. And when you used the clipper over comb did your clipper touch the comb or not?

Patti Graham: Thank you, this was excellent!

Pavel Smityukh: Hey man! Greetings from Poland but I'm Ukrainian =) You know, I just wanna thank you for you channel =) Please, keep going! I have 5 years of experience but often I find out from you something new for me. Now I started to use razor for my cuts on the top and my clients are happy =)Thanks to you now I'm waiting for a clipper from the U.S. like you have with detachable blades , because I can see how good it cuts and finally I`m gonna have less cables around my work place =) Every evening after work I`m buying some food and beer ,coming home and checking, if you have something new , so keep going =) now you changing look not only of your clients but mine also ;)

Alex Nippard: Amazing to see a real Barber on Youtube, yes fades are great but there is nothing like classic barbering and real scissor work, i was trained by Italian Barbers and my passion is old school barbering cant beat it

Rebecca H Sussman: A great video on cutting older men's hair. I have taken your video, studied it and now have been cutting my husband's hair. My husband is happy with the results and I review your video every time I am about to cut his hair--today is the hair-cut day. I know I cannot do as well as you. But I don't "butcher" his hair which is important. Thank you for this video.

Kim Knauff: This is the most popular cut i do every day in my shop. My clientel is mostly older gentle men but do have a lot of fades that come in too. I dont do much blocking in the back. I think a nice taper with this type of style looks better and as i tell my clients, with a taper instead of blocking you dont notice it as much as it grows out.

JasonB54: This is the most basic men haircut we learnt at school. We had to do this over and over and over. Old memories raising.

Ruben Galindo: Bro this is exactly what I needed I’m about to cut my dads hair

HIStory Productions: Wow! Beautiful result. He looks much younger. What a difference!

Sonia Worley: Cheer up man, you look great with this lovely haircut. Tomorrow I am giving a go on my husband haircut. Never realised how more complicated is to cut man hair, than ladies hair. Thanks for tuition.

Anthony Lucchese: MC shows you how to give a excellent balanced haircut. It is hard to find a good barber today. I gave up the trade of cutting hair after 4-5 years. I decided it was too much for me standing all day etc. MC is truly a master barber. Anthony Joseph Lucchese

Syeikh Nasrul: Easy step to learning . Thank you

Edilia Aguilar: Wow!! Great hair cut

elliott nunez: Exactly the way I cut in the salon ..Glad to see I'm doing it right after all these years. Haha...Don't even have to see the guide..as long as fingers connect to the head that determines eveness as long as sections are not too wide..Even do this cut clipper over comb..Different technique s keep me from being bored doing 20 - 30 cuts everyday..and there's more than one way to skin a cat and get the same results..

Anthony Valdez: The greatest that’s ever done it great work

Kadi Jalloh: Brilliant video, thank you

Barber Journey: love you techniques definitely outstanding

Jessamine Mcgonigle: I'm going to do this to an uncle I'm caring for. Very nice. Hopefully I could do the same

Rebecca H Sussman: It's time again to cut my husband's hair...so, here I am at my favorite barber's site to remind me of the steps. MC Barber is GREAT!! He cuts hair the way my hubby likes. And my hubby gives me a tip!!!! Take care MC--it's August 2021 and the COVID & DELTA are still with us!!!! Rebecca

Komik Castillo: How often do you change your edgers blades? And the clipper blades?

yesenia perez: just what I was looking for and very well explain thankyou again :D !!!!!

Dimitri: Thanks, mate! Really like it.

Smarty: Thank you for this. I said I'd never cut hair again after my mum persuaded me and it looked terrible. My DH's hair was so long he was beginning to resemble James May. Anyway his hair looks so much better now so ta v much. I'm going to buy some better scissors as I cut with the only pointy pair I could find which weren't particularly sharp.

lucianoromero777: Mc can you do more of these cuts? And use a detachable to taper the neck

scott Dunlap: Have one question, can any of these YouTube barbers do a haircut without using guards. Been cutting for 24 years and comb and clippers using them together is where its at. I use guards but not all the time.

May60: Loved it!

Body comp: Also may I ask what clipper you're using to do the outlining?

Ashley Moon: So glad for this video! I'm in cosmetology school and they don't teach you men's cuts until you're already on the floor, and all the videos on YouTube are disconnected cuts, and fades. My dad's been bugging me to cut his hair and show off what I've been learning at school (everything but men's cuts, basically), and this is his haircut exactly!

Minister Drayton: Hello MC!! Do you have a complete set of shears, and if so, what are the sizes sir? Thanks

Emiliano Morado: Would you recommend doing it this way or palm to palm? I would rather do palm to palm and work in small precise sections because I feel like it leaves a cleaner silhouette, but what would you rather do?

Quel Fera: Voce e muito bom. Salve Brasil, pernambuco

eleas eleas: On the 90 day of the quar_an_tine, I did it to my husband without quarell , all tin tin. Thanks, My husband still has some hair left after this experience and we still have some time to have fun

The Psychonaut: Thanks with your help I've created a new hairstyle, I call it : The hills have eyes look

Daniel Ademi: The best barber in the word!

Celsa Carvalho: Quanta beleza tem o seu corte e o seu cliente,,,,,,

Joan Lynch: That's a really nice hair cut !

Frankie Fresh: Finally!! I swear YouTube barbers just know how to do bald fades. I was disappointed when he started using gaurds tho....

Danielle Beckers: Super !! I'm gonna try it now on my husband ... :-)

Arl Luz: Best Barber, Best Teacher. Greetings from Valencia, España.

Александр JQ: Here thin hair and rare. Thick hair so it turns out to cut? Attachments? Or is it better to use another technique? Thank you for your wonderful work, you know how to please!

Yun Guo Gan: Can you show each tool you used and what’s brand? Thank you

Erika M.: Thank you! I need to cut my Dad’s hair soon and he has hair like the man in your video. I only have dog shears and dog clippers hope it doesn’t come out fucked up LOL!! ‍♂️

Lisa Settle: Not bad. Gave me JUST enough to thin out the clumpiness of my husband's hair.

Lynda Brown: This is how I've cut my husband's hair for 40 years.

Verónica Valdez Tamayo: Nice cut and technique

Yeng Xiong: Interesting how he can cut with both .

RollsRoyce1954: A Barber doing a classic taper cut. So many new Barbers consumed with bald fades in every video. I'm working on my 34th year cutting lots of hair every day. It's good to see something else than bald heads. Great job sir.
