Ladies and gentlemen, it is about that time after the long wait. I'Ve put you guys through. It'S been two to three years for myself since i've, given myself a buzz cut, i've got the clipper ready fully charged at 100. I got the number five guard on ready to go to rip through the length on the top of my head so guys in today's video. I'M gon na be giving myself a buzz cut self haircut with a high fade on the sides and back, and i'm really hoping it's gon na look good because it's been so many years. You know two to three years since i've, given myself a self haircut just like this, so i'm excited i'm ready to go. I'M just nervous that at the end of the cut i'm gon na look at myself in the mirror and just be like dang son. You look, you look goofy, i'm just really hoping that that's not the case, so i'm praying it looks good. I hope you guys are ready for this self haircut, because i'm ready for the change. Let me show you guys the 360.. This is it, i'm so nervous. All right: let's do it, let's do it too, i'm ready! This is just hair. It'Ll grow back eventually, plus it might look good. You never know it might look good, that's the key to trying new things enough talking. Let'S just get to it, alright ready guys, no way all right. Well, we're sticking to it ain't! No! Turning back now, ain't! No! Turning back now, i can't even believe i used to do this to myself. Dude wow, that's crazy! Yo! This fades better. Be nice, though. Watch you got ta make sure you go in multiple directions, because you know what your hair gets used to being turned a certain way when you're styling it. So you have to make sure look. My hair is conditioned to go left. That'S how much i turn it left. You got ta make sure you go against the grain. If you want to make it all, even all right, you guys so before i even continue with the fade. Let me just show you what i look like. I look egghead egghead boy. Look at this straight up, egghead boy! This is crazy man. Look! My hair is literally conditioned to go to the left. That'S crazy! This has never happened to me before no matter how much you try and push it down. It still wants to go left, maybe it'll change when i wash my hair, but like that's crazy, all right so enough. Talking, let's get to this high fade, i'm going to make it look super nice. You watched you're going to want to do this too. The second you finish watching this video. So let's get right to it for the first guideline, i'm going to be using the no guard with the lever completely closed, and i'm gon na be going up to about the corner of my eyebrow right in here. So for the next guideline, i'm going to be using the half guard and i'm going to be going up about half an inch from this previous guideline. So now, with no guard on the clipper, i'm going to be opening the lever to the halfway position and i'm just going to be flicking out the hard line here. If you still see a hard line after using the lever halfway, open close it all the way and then just the slightest a bit and then just knock out the hard line with that flick out motion. So for the next guideline, i'm going to put on the number one guard with the lever completely closed, i'm going to do the same thing as before and go up about half an inch from this previous guideline. So now that we've got the guideline in with the number one guard lever closed, i'm gon na put on the half guard again put the lever to the halfway position and then flick out this bottom hard line again. If you need to do a little bit more detailing close the lever all the way and then just open it the slightest bit to really knock out that hard line all right. So now i've got the one and a half guard with the lever completely closed. I'M gon na do the same exact thing: going up about half an inch from this previous guideline. All right, you guys so now. I'M gon na put on the number one guard with the lever halfway open just like this, and then i'm gon na be going up and flicking out this hard line with the lever halfway open. If you need help again really flicking out that hard line close the lever completely open it, the tiniest of bit with the lever and then go ahead and try and flick out the hard line, all right, you guys, so i'm pretty sure this is the final guard. I'Ve got the number two guard with the lever completely closed and i'm just going to be going straight up off the head to try and keep a more squared shape for the self haircut and again, we're still going to be going up about half an inch from The previous guideline, so now i'm gon na be using the one and a half guard with the lever halfway open and then closing the lever again just to knock out that final hard line. Are you guys so i just finished with the self haircut right. You see the fade, you see the fade. Let me go ahead and trim up my beard. I'Ve got all this hair excess. I want to give it a nice beard fade to connect it and really make things look good. So let me go ahead. Give myself a nice beard face and then i'll go ahead and show you the 360 final look. Are you guys so i just finished taking a shower which explains the different colored shirt, but i did do the beard fade as well. So let me go ahead and show you the final self haircut look for this buzz cut. Well, i'm done with the buzz cut self haircut. You guys. Let me know in the comment section did i do a good job? James Price: I do a similar cut on myself and have taken some good tips from this that I'll try next time. I'd recommend going as low as a 4 or 3.5 on the top. Would look better. Great job!

Leo H.: Thanks Alex! Another great video and it looks good since you have thick hair. I tried that last year and it looked weird on me because I have more of an oval shaped head and my hair is thinner. So I stick to a #8 guard up top and start from the back and then move the clippers forward flicking up right where my bangs begin leaving that area longer. Then I hit that area with scissors. Then I’ll start the normal fade as you have shown how to do. Appreciate you brother.
panicdiver: Bro, you taught me how to cut my own hair and now I am addicted and give myself a haircut every 2 weeks, sometimes even before. You look great but I think it would look even better if you pushed the fade much higher showing more of the skin and maybe using trimmers to give a very close bald fade down low. After months of experimenting, I go for a very high fade when I use a number 4 or 6 for a buzz cut up-top. My fades still show some hard lines here and there but they are way cleaner than the cuts I used to get from my barbers and they never ever faded to the height I wanted. Now I experiment every time I get a chance, I look forward to giving myself a cut because that's the only time I get to practice and get better. You are the boss dude, keep at it. Snowy Owl 77: 1: You always do a great job with self-cuts. 2: The cut looks objectively good. The fade is barber status, and the top is properly evened out. 3: I'm used to seeing you with longer hair so the buzz cut look is gonna take time to settle in, but you look fresh with it non the less.

Brian Banks: great job...THAT is my everyday haircut....with your hair, you could probably use the largest guard, open up the clippers the most and go with the grain on top...it would thin it out and still keep some length so you could comb it over...that's what I would do if I didn't have massive cowlick on the back of my head which looks crazy when it grows out too long.... great video as always

Paul 638: I just watched your tutorial. I do not consider a buzzcut a length longer than 1/3' to 1/4'. That is just my opinion. A man cutting his own hair as well as you did is remarkable! You did an amazing job! Your side fades are beautiful. The beard trim fits your face well, nice! I keep my head shaven (usually). I shave my head shaven. I shave (blade) at least twice monthly. I like the feel and convenience (primarily the feel). You look absolutely beautiful with the shorter hair cut! With the longer hair style you had a 'sloppy' appearance in my opinion. Non Existent: Ever since i was a child, i used to observe things very carefully and intently which was very helpful when sketching arts and doing paints. I just know the exact angles of things,shapes and objects just by looking at it once( I don't even know how i am able to do this). This trait of mine transcended well into my haircutting. Ever since lockdown begin, I've been cutting my own hair using only scissors (since i didn't have any clippers) including the back and sides. Surprisingly, it turned out quite good in my first try. Ever since then, I've been cutting my own hair using mirrors from front and back. Now, i can pretty much cut any hairstyle lol.

getyourkicksagain: The cut came out nice. The fade is nice and stretched, although you could get it a bit tighter (true bald fade, shaved on bottom). I preferred the longer hair on top, as you have nice hair and it balanced you out better.
