My name is Shane Richard, I'm here at Wayne's barbershop with easy blade. You can get me on instagram shane dot, richard WBS. Today we are gon na trim. The top he's gon na keep the curls all right guys. Let'S, let's do it start we're gon na trim. The top just a little trim, he likes the curls, I just freshly washed it and conditioned it. So it's it's a combing nice there's a nice weight line on the side which I like, so I'm really just gon na trim the top. So how I'm doing that? I'M just gon na brush it out using a smaller comb. So when I'm pulling up my sections with the with this side, it's more even if you do it with a thicker when you do it with a thicker teeth, it's not as even, but that will leave texture too. So it's all what you want to do. So what you want to do is to find the top of the head, which I put the comb on it, and you balance it out like that and when it's flat just like that, when it's flat, that's where the top of the head is, that's called the Apex, I might be wrong. I'Ve been to school in a really long time. This is Kevin, say hi Kevin, oh okay. He said hi in Spanish, that's hola! On the top of the head. Now we are gon na start, our sectioning. So what I do is it's kind of like a mini mohawk. You break that right. There, comb that right over that way, that's one we're making our guideline right now is what we're doing and break that right over to so now we have like mohawk. We do now we really don't have to trim much. We don't know how even it is on top. I haven't cut his head, make sure his heads up we're gon na take that mohawk piece right here so and I'm using the teeth, the more teeth I'm gon na bring that right up and you see it's kind of even then debris split so we'll take about That much off with that about a centimeter like so go down the line a little bit holding the hair, nice and tight fingers go all the way up until you have to cut miss that spot. That'S all right and always go get, go, get it back all right now, at the front of the hairline, bring it all the way up, see how I'm bringing my elbow up with the hair we're gon na elbow up cuz. If I don't you see it's not straight up, it's not 90 degrees. You see that hair falling, let it fall. You don't need that boom and that's how you find here. That'S how you make your guideline and then you just you, can come on over to one side you take sections just like that. They can be pretty big, not not much right. There stick a comb right in there bring this up watch your elbow, and your guideline is right here, that's all the hair we have to cut and whatever falls on this side, let it fall. That'S all right. Boom you're done probably take about three sections on each side. Bringing it up find your guideline. That'S what we're cutting boom, let that fall! You don't need that brush that back done the from the hairline we're not gon na. I don't think there's gon na be too much here. There'S a lot of it was falling in the beginning. When I was trying to make my guide alright, we got that done now. To cut this side, you want to take air where you made your guideline you're making, just like you were in the beginning, bring that over and brush some of this hair over boom. Just like that brush that back over that way, you don't need that we're gon na do the same thing over here boom. Bring that that way, all right up this way, you don't get that comb. This up, find your guideline, see my guidelines right here. Cutting all this well, this side looks a little longer, so that's alright bring this up. I said: haven't cut this in a really long time that stuff was falling, so we got that brush that back done. Bring this over. You don't need that, like I said three sections on each side this way I learned this way from a barber, a European barber, and this is the best way to get the hair on top as proportionate as possible, so did that it was falling. No need that. Take the last section brush this back up, make sure you use your mirrors, I'm doing I'm teaching right now, so I'm not really using my mirrors using the one across from me, but always use your mirrors. It'S always a good thing to use your mirrors done. So this is the top. Now we have to do the back. So remember in the beginning, when I was finding the top of the hair right there, you want to, I Section it right at the top. So now we want to section it a little more forward because that's where your guideline is so find the top, I would have sectioned it there earlier. So I'm going to section it maybe like an inch or like an inch and a half just like that. Just like before comb that back hum this, there don't need this. We already cut that alright guys. I don't need that. It'S not the prettiest, that's alright! This is an art or isn't pretty, doesn't have to be too pretty there. You go and just like, we did in the front like a guideline so like the little mini mohawk like I did in the beginning, so brush this back part it. You don't need that brush that that way. Now, if I did this right when I comb this part up, it's gon na be shorter over here and longer back here. Let'S see you see it, that's where my guideline is: that's what I'm cutting you see it right there well get the Mohawk watch elbow. So we need to cut boom, bring it up. Well, that stuff was falling. Let it fall brush this. This way now take some more sections out that way bring this up all right. We be aware where your body positioning is my body. Positioning is right in front of my section: it's a traveling guideline, it's gon na travel and the back is not too bad. Whatever is falling, let it fall well. My body is over here now, I'm just seeing it's a little bit over here boom now we're over. Here all right bring this up. Put your elbow, got ta cut that more up got this up, not bad! Oh, no, right, cool! All right did that the mall or back now now that the tops cut we can blow-dry if we want put a little mousse in there. What I have right now is Paul Mitchell. That'S alright! It'S not that I use it in my thin stupid hair. I have very thin hair, I just style it well, you know this is good for all. Hair textures adds little volume. That'S alright! Just a little bit work it in there work that in there and uh he has curly hair. I don't have a diffuser, but that's fine, look what you got. I take this head off. You don't need that. Just use this, that's the best blow dryer, but thanks wasn't what you got. You don't need all this top-notch technology. You can cut hair. You got here. You got hair with anything, you got have fun being the pearl general activated. You

Sharon Lea: Thank you for this video! So super helpful! I have always cut my 3 boys hair for the last 12 years until my oldest decided he wanted to grow it out and now that he is maturing it is curly. He finally asked me to cut it-yay! He's a teenager and doesn't know how to take care of it well, or rather he just doesn't so him asking me to cut it is huge. I don't want him to hate it and he wants to keep the curls so off to YouTube I went for help. So glad I found your video, you are helpful, unfussy and down to earth.
