Hey everybody just here today doing another Dear Whippy video., Today’s email comes from Renee Omak and she says “Hi Becki, I’m so excited about Dear Whippy. What a great idea. I love! Love, love your new short hairstyle.. I would love to see how you go about styling. It each day and what products you use., I absolutely love short hair, but I am afraid I won’t be able to have fun with it. If I make the change from longer to shorter hair., Any tips or tricks would be great., Thanks. Renee.”. So we had a couple. Other girls ask this question to so. In response to all of you guys, I am going to show you guys what my hair looks like before and after and run through a quick little hairstyle as well as the products.. So I hope you enjoy., So this is what my hair looks like on day: seven or ten. I don’t even know what day it is on right, now. I just woke up. I haven’t brushed it or touched it or anything., Beautiful and glorious. I know.. So I am going to go wash it and go through the process of getting ready, which is relatively fast, like I said it. Doesn’T take me long. Anyways. This is the before and you will see the after shortly. Alright. So I just washed my hair and I basically towel dry it.. I usually switch up my products, so I am just going to basically show you everything I use. Some things might work better for you than others.. I always start with a thickening cream, because I have thing hair. I either use Small Talk by Bed Head or this thickening hairspray by Bumble and Bumble.. So today I am going to use thickening spray by bumble and bumble.. I just shake it. All high end: hair salon. Products are more concentrated, so you don’t need to use a ton., But typically right where I want the most body which is right on the top and crown of my hair is where I apply the thickening spray.. Then I use a product for a barrier from my blow dryer and flat iron.. I again switch between using After Party and Gloss Drop and put this on before, like that much. And I apply this to my ends first and then everywhere, else. Again, that is just going to kind of protect your hair more from the dryer and flat iron and Keep your hair form getting a little too frizzy or dried out looking.. So now that I have all my product in, I am going to brush it in or brush my hair in the direction that I want it to go. Right now. I am already getting my hair shaped for when I start blow drying it.. My hair is too short to round brush really and let’s be honest. I am too lazy for that.. So, with this hair cut, you can honestly just brush your hair like this and let it dry and put some spray wax in it or some manipulator., But I am going to show you how I blow dry it. Again, do not use a brush or anything. I just comb out my hair first and then start at the back and work towards the front.. So here we go. Okay. So then, at the crown of my hair, I want it to have a little bit more body, so I am actually going to hold it up and blow dry it. You’ll notice how I always direct my hair forward, because that’s the way I want the style to Go., If I blow dry it this way, it will create a little bit more body in the front.. So then I will redirect again going this way. Not really a whole rhyme or reason to that. But while my hair is still warm because the heat of the blow dryer opens up the cuticle shaft on your hair, I am going to apply either again, another gloss drop or you can use After Party.. I am going to use Head Rush. It is a spray shine because, while the cuticle of the hair is open, your hair is going to absorb the gloss from the product, and then your hair will look a little bit more shiny and less like you blow dried it or like it’s, really damaged.. I color treat my hair frequently, so I have to have something on it or it will look pretty dry and yucky., So that’s just from blow drying it and very little product.. Depending on what kind of rush I am in, I will just top it off with some hairspray and go, or I will add, a little bit more definition to it with a flat iron and some hair product.. So that is what I am going to do right now, to give you an idea.. So in the back, my hair is really straight, so I am just going to flap it under to give it a little bit of a curl.. I am using my Chi iron.. You really don’t need a lot because it’s just a little pixie.. I try to curl my hair in the direction that I want it to lay.. So in the front I curl it going forward. And I am not really going to mess with the front, because I think it looks okay, so I don’t need to straighten it or anything.. Then I usually use a spray wax at this point.. There are three different ones that I use. I recommend all of them. They’re all going to work a little bit. Differently. Lance is my favorite it’s a little bit lighter and I have really fine hair. So it’s not going to be really heavy and super dirty.. Then Paul Mitchel has a spray wax. Also, that is one, is heavier and is a little bit more oily.. So if you tend to have oily hair, I probably wouldn’t use that one., Then short, sexy hair has one called play dirty. This one is the strongest, so it is going to feel really dirty and really gritty and have tons of texture.. So if you have virgin hair or hair that is super healthy or slippery and fine, I recommend this one.. I am going to use this one just because first day, hair drives me crazy, because it is too soft and clean.. I, like my hair, to feel really dirty and broken in.. So again a high end product. You do not need to use a lot., I kind of lift up my hair, so it can get down in the roots a little bit that way. It’S building up volume, not just weighing your hair down., You can pretty much mess with it from there and do what you want.. If this was second or third day, hair or any day hair after that pretty much the only product I use other than first day hair. Is this spoil me by bed head. It’s, basically like a defrizzer and a smoother, and it restyles your hair.? So when I wake up, I have these tuffs of hair sticking straight out from bed head. So I will just spray this on it, comb it through and it will re-smooth my hair out. And, if I need to, I will hit it with a flat iron to get rid of any kinks or flat pieces from sleeping on it.. This is pretty much the only product I need to use again on second third, fourth day hair., Not everybody is crazy. Like me most, you will probably wash your hair more than once a week., So I am going to include a list of all the products that I use and kind of what they do.. So you can decide if you should use small talk or this spray and that kind of stuff., But ten minutes people.. That took me ten minutes to do my hair, and that was because I was talking a lot and doing it on camera.. Hopefully that helped I’m sure if I was using a mirror. I would probably touch this up a little better, but you get the point of how simple and easy it is to do.. Hopefully you guys enjoyed it thanks for watching

Paula: This is the video where I first discovered the awesomeness of Whip. It's so hard to watch this now that she's no longer with us. Eight years doesn't seem so long ago, but for her, it was a lifetime. For those of us who followed her on IG and watched her fight her ass off for her life, she was so much more that a cutie with the coolest hair.

ZuluReddy: Love your hair cut and style. Looks so easy to style. I had the same cut but found it difficult to style as my hair is a lot more wavy than yours. Very well done. Thanks.

annuk03: Absolutely stunning! I have fine hair that wants to lay forward towards my face and I spend my life trying to blow dry it back. I will be asking my stylist for this very style! Thank you for posting, you are beautiful :)

Skii T: I really love this tutorial, just what i needed!! I just got this cut today! Love it! I had shoulder length hair so I don't know what to so at all! Thank you!!

Sarah Jones: Love it!! I got a pixie three months ago and now can finally feel like it's cute and yes SOO easy after its trained to go into the style you like!! Very similar to yours except waiting for my sides to get a tad longer like yours!! They cut it like Jennifer Lawrence's!! thank for sharing!!

Suzanne McColl: Love your videos! It was taking me ages to dry and style my hair now I take less than 10 mins. I was scared to try different things and mess around with my hair, now I do it every day! Thanks for the tip on the spoil me, bought it yesterday.

LadeeLayla: This past weekend I took several pics of your haircut/style to my stylist and we did a cut very similar to yours! And I LOVE it! So easy to take care of and have received many compliments.

meow Meow: Im 44 and finally got a pixie. I started to hate it bc i felt like it was just turning into old mom short style..you've given me hope! I can't wait to get some new products and really rock this cut!

Annie Mulholland: I absolutely love your channel! It was your videos that gave me the push I needed to get my pixie and I don't regret it for one minute. I was convinced that my stylist would try and talk me out of it (as has happened in the past) but I took in photos and explained what I liked in particular about each one and she was really enthusiastic about it and didn't once say I shouldn't get it cut short because I have a round/fatter face. Now I actually have a neck and cheekbones, so thank you for being such an inspiration! Now it's just learning how to style my pixie :-)

Faithn: I had long hair when I started watching you! And I got inspired from your videos and I cut my hair from my shoulders to my ears! Such a good video

tlw1334: Love your videos!  I'm always styling my pixie the same (flat and sleek) because I never know how to make it more texturized....LOVE the product mini-tutorials that you give with your styles!

Sarah Cunningham: Love how much texture you can create with a few spritzes of stuff. thanks for posting this. gives me a little more confidence about being able to style super short hair!

Shaannon James: I'm getting my hair cut as a pixie soon and your videos are making me glad I've decided. Can't wait to try out your tricks for styling and getting ready a pixie hair style!!

roseann153: Hello Whippy, I am so thrilled I found your channel! I totally LOVE the pixie style cut I recently had a haircut ( I also have short hair) I had the stylist cut my sides off what a mistake :(  I will be bringing her a picture of the pixie you have and I will be asking her to do the cut like yours next time.  Thank you for being so honest about things, it is refreshing. One side note could you please tell me what are your eyeshadows you use, I am watching your part 2 video on how you style your hair and I am in love with the eyeshadow color you are wearing.  Thanks for your time on you tube I truely appreciate it.

Jenna Schroeder: That was super helpful! Thanks! I'm growing out a pixie and am at a loss! Now, I'm inspired!

Elizabeth Hansen: Thank you so much for providing this wet to dry step by step tutorial including products.  I love my pixie cut but I never know where to start when trying new looks or products.  Next step getting brave enough to try flat iron curls.  Thank you! Thank you! Please keep the hair ideas and tutorials coming.

mechelle cranford: Just went blonde and pixie...working on the messy look, that I love and you do perfectly. Thanx for the tips!

Tricia DeVos: love love love your insight to everything pixie! I too colour my hair often, it usually doesn't stay the same for more than a few months I will have to try these products because with what I currently use I can't go more than a day without washing my hair! Thank you for sharing ❤

Lisa Springs: I've been agonizing over cutting my hair like this, until I saw this video!  I always end up putting it up in the back.  Thank you for showing the variety of ways this can be styled and for helping me make this decision final!  Adorable! :)

Aloha Leslie: I love this! I'm 68 and wear my hair much like you. Thanks for your ideas. They're new for me and will add a whole other fun way of styling and bring some zippy Pzazz to my routine. :)))))

Ballistikitty: So glad you are doing these videos. I got the same haircut done 4 days ago, and I couldn't style it the same as my hairdresser did. Hopefully dying my hair will make it easier to style. Thanks!

Mari Wahnon: I just simply wanted to say thank you for teaching so much and do it in a very simple way to understand and follow, so thank you and blessings to you and your family.

Aly : I want to get a pixie so bad! It's so classy and pretty! And I love the dark blonde on the bottom.  ps. you're lovely :)

Lenexa000Rose: This was actually super helpful... I have only ever had obnoxiously long hair all my life, and I finally decided that I wanted to go really short... I had no idea where to even start in attempting to style my pixie cut... thank you for some super good advice!

Jennifer Coe: I wanted a white platinum last time I got my hair colored but it wouldn't pull that light... :( So until next time I stuck with a straw yellow look unless I use the purple shampoos on it. Michelle W: Hi! Love your videos and love your hair style. I'm thinking about getting this cut. What is the name of the spray wax in the brown can that you showed first? (The first one that you showed). Thanks! :)

jaimelestacos: I have thick, fine hair so I'm currently looking at different pixie styles - I've accepted that long hair (past my shoulders) is just a no-go. Your pixie is one of the styles I love most because I'd like to keep a little bit of hair to play with (and I like that my ears won't be so on display). But I am concerned with using your hair as inspiration simply because you're blonde and I'm brunette, so the effect might not transition well?

katherinejane76: Any thoughts on how to style this haircut if your hair is really thick? I find it's easy to get poofy helmet head with all the hair I have.

Karina Cuesco: thanks for this video and the information about the products! you have a great hair !!! i love it.

[email protected] doggies4: Thanks that was very helpful

Faithn: oh no thank you! And I love it!! I really like the style it is kinda like yours!

B Tells: thanks so much for another great video !

laura pettenger: Awesome. Thank you.

nanikaos18: *Sorry, I talk too much. Part 1 of 2 * LOL. TY SO much! Please keep your videos coming. :-) You've made my morn. We got stationed in BFE California from TX a little over a yr ago. When I left TX, my hair dresser had FINALLY (No more baby steps) gotten me to a beautiful blonde. I was too nervous to have anyone around me bleach it & end up fried. BC my roots had gotten so long, I decided to have my hair chopped. I LOVE it! But then my natural color completely ruined the look for me. Con't to pt. 2

barnhillnancy51: tell me what would be good to keep my hair from going flat during the day. I have tried many things. My hair is short like yours and starts off good at the beginning of the day and when I look in the mirror during the day, it's as flat as can be. Thanks for your help

LeeAnn Howe: There are so many great hair products out there now that I'm not "in the know" on! I've seen Bed Head products for over a decade, but I've never bought any. My hair now is almost exactly like yours. I'm 40. We older folks need to learn about the new generation of products. My hair is very fine and this pixie cut is great for me, too. I have discovered dry shampoo! I really like using it. It helps me give it more "ump" and body, even when it's not dirty. I would like to try some newer, fancier products but they're too $$$ to take a guess at when deciding what to buy! Oh and I, too, like the color of your room with the white trim! That shade of pink looks great against the contrasting white. This is the 1st time I've ever even thought to look up a hair video! You're doing a great thing! I thought your hair style was actually complete here, before you began using the flat iron in the back!

Rebecca Farrell: <3 your hair.  I want that haircut!

ChainsawKitten: Great hair. You are lucky, your hair may be fine but you've got a lot of it, that's how my hair was when I was younger. The older I get, the thinner my hair gets....and I have to use LESS product for it to look nice, but still have some body. It's a fine line. Sebastian has a great spray gel, Volupt. And I just got a new one at my salon called Volumetry, it's by L'Oréal, and it's pretty awesome.

DraconianStalight: Just saw that the list is in your blog. Got it! Thanx!!!

artistik1979: I love your haircut!

Dani m: Im having my hair cut in this style in a few days, but my hair is naurally curly and thick . Would it still look ok with my hair?

mining brat: im asking my mom a lot to do this with my hair. she keeps denying!! but i believe im close to doing it for my 10th birthday

December Strawser: I got my hair cut into a pixie cut about 2 1/2 to 3 months ago and its growing out ( like i want) but i cant quite figure out how to style it now. any tips?

Mona Arclies: Love da hair style for thin lifeless hair ....great video ty

Patriciapats: beautiful haircut and colour....!

Jesse-wan Kenobi: Your bed head is more put together than my styled hair! :')

Jacqueline Chaney: Love ur style
