Matt Beck, founder of Gratitude Salon Education is excited to invite all stylists and future stylists to Freesaloneducation.com! Now more than ever Matt and his team at Gratitude Salon Education are showcasing their passion for education and for the salon industry by offering an on-line learning network at no charge.

"A teacher of mine handed down videos to me in beauty school. The knowledge I had gained for free was amazing! The many artists and teachings in those videos inspired me to further my career and become an educator" says Beck.

Now, almost ten years later, Matt has launched GratitudeEducation.com and Freesaloneducation.com. Two sites dedicated to providing the highest quality step by step education on a weekly basis for anyone who wants to log in, be inspired, and learn! Stylists can expect education on cutting, coloring, styling, barbering, and business tips. You can also look forward to totally free educational videos sent by email and live web classes broadcast from in the salon. This truly is a great affordable (obviously) investment that stylists can use to study at their own pace and convenience.

Hi guys Brian hare here and we're just doing a really quick little bit of a light highlight on men's short hair. Today we had someone asked us last week. How do you transfer highlights from a longer hair style on a guy to a shorter hair style? So here you go next we're just using the big tooth on my comb, the Raptor claw, definite in my Lightner and then just working off of his natural hair pattern. I want something: that's gon na complement how his hair's gon na lay. So I'm going with all the cowlick swirls texture. If there's a way of anything like that and then just very lightly starting down close to the roof, you don't have to worry about getting it down on the scalp, because we're going for just more of a natural, sunlight and kind of effect, and what the the Tooth of the comb is going to do. Is it's gon na reach into the hair section and then just sort of highlight both sides of as you comb that, through those just a very light skimming through the top of whatever section you're doing as I came through here, I did use Clips to pull out Of the way, so you can work nice and neat and clean and then just look at where his part is where I want to see that blond, where I want his base just broken up a little bit so just coming through and a little brush brush there. In the brush brush and then we just let it light in him and you're good to go.

isisbenny404: This so beats a plastic cap! My co worker did a diamond section on my scalp cause I did not want noticeable color peeking through the back. It looks amazing, has flow, and makes my haircut look even better. I just did a small retouch though the front by myself, and I'm enjoying the look. My specialty is actually cutting, but this color is so simple and makes a huge difference.

shellie petty: Just what I was looking for! What volume developer for dark hair?

leftyla: Odd question here -- is there a way to break up the color on black hair? I mean, are there different shades of black without doing brown highlights? Answer me, dammit! lol  Thanks.
