Tonight, there's a so beyond the pale of what scientists are doing. This is completely immoral. Well, she's, the best you're, a Republican Bentley instead of saying balding, say your area recession makes people feel a little better by the Senate being equally divided. The Vice President votes in the affirmative and the motion is agreed to the clerk will report the nomination vice president Mike Pence had to break a 50-50 tie in the Senate to advance the nomination of Thomas Farr to be a district court judge in North Carolina far As defended North Carolina district maps and voter ID laws that courts later found to be racially motivated, all 49 Senate Democrats and Republican Jeff Flake voted no. The first generic competitor to Milan epipen has gone on sale and it's not providing much actual competition. Tevez version costs $ 300 for two: the same prices, Milan zone, generic version, but Tevez pen does offer an upside it's available. Manufacturing issues have led to a supply shortage of Milan, soon eric EpiPens. Since May the Netherlands, national rail company is planning to set up a commission to pay reparations to Holocaust survivors and their relatives. Ns operated trains for occupying Nazi forces during World War, two sending Jews to a Dutch deportation camp. The rail company called that period quote a black page in the history of our country, and our company saying it won't know until next year how reparation payments will work or who will get them after an unprecedented 12 consecutive draws forced the World Chess Championship into a Round of tiebreakers Norway's Magnus Carlsen has once again been crowned the winner beating American challenger Fabiano Caruana, a researcher in China, says he worked in secret without the knowledge of his university, his peers or his government to pull off a scientific first. That has the potential to alter the human gene pool ha. Jung-Woo says he helped create the world's first genetically edited babies. He claims they're resistant to HIV, not that he's released any data to prove it. His announcement came with a slick, YouTube video, not a journal where other scientists could check his work too. Beautiful meet a chinese girl named Lulu Elana came crying into the world as healthy as any other babies. A few weeks ago, the publicity blitz seen time to come. Just before his talk today in Hong Kong at the human genome, editing summit where he blamed a leak was hardly known in the scientific community. Until this week, he's 34 he's previously authored a study on the gene, editing, technique, CRISPR but hasn't published anything major still. He drew a crowd of journalists and bioethicists who've been debating the risks of gene edited humans for years. The thing was that it was so surreal in the sense that we're coming here exactly to debate these kinds of questions when no one was thinking that there actually are two babies in the world who have had their embryos. Genetically edited Robert clips Minh runs the bioethics program at Columbia University. I was shocked because this is so beyond the pale of what scientists are doing or considering acceptable to do. This is completely immoral. There has been consensus among leading countries, including China. You should not be taking edited embryos and implanting them in women to have children at this point, because we just do not know the risks and the risks could be severe. Our DNA consists of three billion letters, so gene editing is when we take some of the letters in the sequence of three billion letters and we change them. We take out some that can lead to a increased risk of disease. For instance, CRISPR is a technology that uses molecules to find certain sequences of letters and to remove them. So we can go in with sort of molecular scissors and clip out part of a gene. That'S no good huh says his work doesn't come close to creating a designer baby surgery. Yes, technology for hearing, enhancing IQ or selecting Kyle or eye color is not what the lovey does that's to be banned, who claims that his advancement may have prevented the twins? Father from passing on his HIV and a life of stigma, but there are other ways to prevent this kind of transmission and scientists have no idea what side effects might arise from disabling the gene that her targeted. It'S like predicting the weather. We can barely predict the weather 24 hours from now in New York City or anywhere in the world, so we're trying to make predictions now an embryo of what diseases it's gon na have eighty years from now we're not very good at that kind of predictions in Altering the genes of an embryo there are all kinds of unintended consequences. So that's why the consensus in the scientific community up till now is that it's okay to experiment on altering the genes and embryos. But you should not, at this point, take the embryo and put it into a woman's body to create a child. China'S government has pressured scientists like her to make advancements in CRISPR research to get ahead in the genetic equivalent of the space race. There is thought to be a lot of money in this. I would suspect that when it is found that someone is able to in fact have a way altering the genes of a child and have a healthy child, that they will try to patent that and try to earn hundreds of millions of dollars. If there will be get rid of major diseases, they may win a Nobel Prize. China allows scientists to edit human embryos for research, but only for up to 14 days after fertilization, HUS current employer, the Southern University of Science and Technology, says he's been on unpaid leave. Since February, and that it had no knowledge of his work, which it considers a serious violation of academic norms, it's now investigating. So is the institution where he did his postdoc Rice University, which is looking closer at the role of one of its professors, who frequently collaborated with her and defended him saying the families understood the risks. There is still no proof of his success or even if the twins exist, but if it's a hoax, it may only encourage the real thing. He'S opened up Pandora's Box in many ways. I think that he has suggested that this is possible and that there may now be other scientists who say well. I'M gon na try it too today. Nancy Pelosi faced the first of two votes on her path to reclaiming the title of Speaker of the House. Behind closed doors, the Democrats that will make up the majority in the House voted to make her leader again: 203. Yes, votes and 32 knows everyone, and I do believe it is a good afternoon and it was so inspiring to hear my colleagues place. My name in nomination, nobody was running against her, so Pelosi was always going to win this one. Now it's time for pundits to parse how much or how little she won by and to spend the next month speculating over whether Pelosi will win the speakership on the floor of the house. But in the wake of historic midterms. The public is getting a vivid lesson and how it all happens, thanks to Pelosi struggle, to keep her caucus in line. Madam leader, you've been a leader for a long time. You'Ve twisted a lot of arms. What was different about counting the votes, this time and getting the votes? This is all the same. I'Ve always had a point but opposition today it didn't it materialized into an opponent, but now, if every every Congress, I spend a lot of time. Listening to members new members and members who are returning to hear what their prospects are for the future, those conversations led her to promising congresswoman Marcia fudge a subcommittee chairmanship, so she wouldn't run against her congressman. Brian higgins signed a letter pledging to oppose Pelosi, but a few days later, he backed down after a persuasive talks with leadership renewed his confidence that more voices will be heard and that Pelosi would work with him to make Medicare an option for Americans at age 50 And the new members who have been very upfront about what they want - plum appropriations, committee assignments and promises to address climate change are finding themselves moving in Pelosi's direction because being a new member of Congress means you may have Twitter, but you're lacking power and Pelosi has Spent many years amassing well she's the best. She really understands this Republican, I'm a Republican look I, but I just think you see it's very good at what she does. She produced dodd-frank and she produced Obamacare and she produced a stimulus package. She was very effective from the legislative point of view. The speakership is no place for nice people. You have to be a little bit tough to be a leader in this Congress, because if you sit back and let everybody be free agents, you never get anything done being the person connected to a ton of outside groups and funding strains means you can use them To push around unruly members, heavy hitters from the Democratic base, like labor unions and gun reform groups, are supporting Pelosi and they're willing to spend money on campaigns, hers and other people's. So people on the inside and outside thinks she's effective. But I know what you're thinking nobody likes her Connor lamb, another two-faced Pelosi, liberal she'll, say anything to get elected and you're, not wrong about that. According to Wesleyan University, during the 2018 election, Pelosi was the most targeted congressional leader featured in thousands of negative ads, and national polls tend to show almost half the country has an unfavorable view of her. Of course, the thing that makes people hate her is also the thing that makes her an effective speaker. You piss a lot of people off when you have to keep them in line and when you get done. Thank you all very much. Dolkun isa doesn't have the things that most people who successfully library Congress have. He doesn't have a lot of money behind him or powerful group. Instead, he's a head of the world Weger Congress, a group that advocates for China's Muslim minority, his main asset, is his own story. I was a student leader in mr. Gaston 1980s. I was hosted for months and I was kicked also from the University when I came to the exile and continued working on right of the little people. So you do a lot of these kind of meetings all around the world. What'S different about doing it in DC versus somewhere else? Well, you know the station is really terrible, nor for the Wiggles and if the u.s. really concernin really up car institution, it will be more useful ESA's from the shinjang province of northwest china, the 10 million weaker. She represents won independence and freedom from an unrelenting effort by china to suppress their religion and dilute their culture. Some weekers have resorted to violence, and china has used that as a justification for a major crackdown. In august the UN accused Beijing of holding about 1 million wiegert's in huge internment camps. China calls them re-education centers. These alleged human rights violations are starting to get noticed in Washington, so East is getting meetings with powerful people like staffers for Senator Bob Menendez who, along with Marco Rubio, introduced a bill to try and protect the Uighur. A couple weeks ago, my mother passed away 17 of maine's this year in the camps. She was 78 years old. Ladies even Chinese government took her one year ago. I didn't know that and he she passed away the camp. Thank you very much again for taking the time to come up here and to meet and help educate us. What can we do? That can actually be effective to get a patient's change, its its thinking change its approach against policy, maybe in the g20 meeting g20 meeting, president Trump is it personally if she could arise this case to the Xi Jinping, and it will be more influential. Also, you have our supports now we need to make sure that you have the support of the rest of the Senate. Thank you very much. Thank you. Trunk could bring it up. Was she this weekend and use the issue as a leverage in trade negotiations, but the president has made it clear that human rights concerns are a distant second to economic ones. The human rights communities were not aware of it. That'S a major concern for nuri Turkel, a Weger american lawyer and advocate you're, worried that maybe Trump might use the weaker as a bargaining chip like we'll stop talking about this. If you give us five more percent of a tariff on cars or something to the point, yes, the government's business is engaged mostly based on the interest. So sometime moral issues can take. Take the backseat. What about this bill? That'S in the Senate. Yes, this man is Rubio bill. We know there senators who are for it, who do you see as the senators who might be against it? I worry about the senators or members of Congress that have a large businesses. Business interest with China or a company does have a business interest in China. Today, though, the weaker community got to air its concerns to a sympathetic audience. The congressional executive committee on China, China's suppression of religious faith and religious communities is real. It is evil. It is too horrendous to ignore. She beat me so hard and then I I tell him, please kill me and then God willing, God will help you please kill me. We cannot allow ourselves to or have our foreign policy or our commitment to human rights to be decided by whether or not they're going to be retaliation. What I fear is it's not a high enough priority with so many things going on in the world, and that's why I'm or testimony like the one today is it's chilling. This is something from a horror movie, not something that you imagine is happening in the 21st century in the world's second largest economy, soon-to-be world's largest economy and one of the most powerful countries in the world in China. But it is, but even powerful legislators might not be able to push this president. He didn't take action against Saudi Arabia. As her journalist, Jamal khashoggi was murdered, you're trying to make a country that is so focused on its economy care about the way a trading partner treats a guru people in the country. I mean that seems like a tough sell, yeah yeah, you are right. It is it difficult to end because, and the most of some country just has a trade partner, is China and the most of country is just sinking about the economic? It is not easy, of course, so we have to keep going, we have to hearten working, we don't have another choice: there's balding thinning people in every city that each of you living it. It'S always going to be a market for it. Wade Menendez has been a barber for thirteen years, but over the last four he's found himself catering to a unique clientele, bald bid. This is waste class where he instructs barbers and stylists in an emerging trend, men's hair, weaves but way prefers a different name. The technical term for this is cranial, rot theses or hair proteases. We want to get out of saying man: we've guys are not gon na be like I want. You know I wanted. Man leaves no all right, I usually call it a hair unit or a hair system. What exactly is a hair unit? It'S like a toupee, but the way we do it is we cut it, install it to make it look like it's natural, like it's yours like it's actually coming out of your scalp, but it's really not. I have a confession. I really wouldn't focus on your eyeballs. I was looking at your face trying to figure out if there was a hair Union - oh god yo. Everybody always asked me that now, if I needed to wear unit, I would but I don't okay, so wait is blessed with the natural man, but that hasn't stopped him from becoming the Wizard of the weave or master of the faux fro big. No to this. Instead of saying balding say your area recession makes people feel a little better father. He has nearly 100 thousand followers on Instagram and people flocked from across the globe to attend his session. You bought a plane ticket, you hotel, hotel and this class. How much was that between two thousand pounds together - maybe more, maybe less? Well, you consider that a worthwhile investment 100 cents with every penny boy we were enlisting over. Oh man, hairline - is all way down here. Yeah, I'm saying so. Let'S be realistic of where we gon na place it, while some men are excited about the unit's potential, meaning you have a problem with wearing one when it comes to men, getting weave, there's a stigma associated with it. Why do you think that's the case? I think a lot of guys have been against even the females getting weaves and a lot of it comes from you, scared of what your boys gon na, say, worried about getting fried by your homies. You know I mean a lot of guys, they come, but they don't want anybody to know you like a magician. I don't hurt Barbara Jesus, you know lizard all kinds of stuff. A magician never reveals his tricks. So wait. Ask vice news not to film the installation process. We can't cut the cameras now you come back in about uh, while the cameras were all way: blue, natural and synthetic hair pieces to the scout blending them into Sam's natural hair. When I met you earlier, you were about ten years older yeah, so pretty much was transpired. It'S been since I first meet well the hair I've been coming to wait for over five years. I lost my hair at like late 20s. So to get this and make it make me feel like I am at least 10 years younger it just boosted my confidence and I just waves a blessing. I feel a lot better, not having to put a do-rag or baseball cap. It was something that I was ashamed of with the crown of my head, so now I feel better. Don'T have to do that, so what did way to do for you, so he just installed it three or four month unit. Where was it before? I was bald into this. I look like George Jefferson Ave Ave. You know now tell me: how has these units changed your life overall, I mean significantly before getting this. I started losing my hair, like my early 20s. Very depressed didn't want to go out. If I didn't have like a fresh shape up, I would not go out the house when I go anywhere but instantly getting this. It'S like. I don't care I'll go out. I don't care what time of day it is, and when I run errands like whatever with the hair, was an increase of confidence. Absolutely so you walk in the streets with a new house, a new strut, you notice, ass and so in winter, in the Barrow with the wife. How much does it the initial service cost like the client comes in? I can range anywhere from 200 to 650 or so units can last from two weeks to four months and then there's maintenance that upkeep can be a regular haircut away. You can take it off, wash it and put it right back on myself. What is your typical clientele at this point? I do more african-american guys than any other race, the Caucasian girls kind of like. Well, I don't really see him post much I'll type of hair. That much is only a few. Do you need to dip into their white money? Hair growth is estimated to be a three point. Six billion dollar annual industry and Wade is using fake hair to make real money. So how much money do you make a year doing just hair units alone? Oh over 450,000, we project this year to be way more. You could corner the market. Why are you giving this information away? Because I feel, like I'm doing this, to help other people. I'Ve had guys and and ladies cry after they had the service done. This is crazy. This is the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life. I still can't believe it so when they see it, it's like a shock and it's like. Oh my god, that's like I'm a total different person. You you

Jayee: Honestly, I'm all for gene editing. It's going to happen one way or another regardless of the ethical concerns. I see this as a way to expedite human evolution. Cancer, STD, Alzheimer, ALS, Parkinsons and all the thousands of conditions that future generations would be resistant to, think about that.

RJD 0320: The best part of this video was the hair !!! What a wonderful service! Thank you sir!

WeReeLCooL: The barber Wade makes over $450K/year alone on the hair unit service--whoa! He does have the corner market on this service. Most barbers are not even considering adding this to their line of services--at least not the ones in Chicago. Until male pattern baldness is cured (don't hold your breath), barbers are missing out on a lot of money from thousands of people (men and women) who would pay $$$$ for this service.

Gloworm Sparkle far: This episode was wonderful, great subjects great stories

New Notification: A surgeon from Germany doesnt hesitate for one second to fly to Japan to learn how to use a new Surgical device. I want the barber who knows that flying to America for this course is an investment

kaz kk: We need genetic engineering and eugenics as well as designer babies. Thank god for gene editing . He is a pioneer and we need more of him

Seven Generations: Genes exist in a networked ecosystem, not in isolation. That ecosystem is in constant flux, it is dynamic. No matter how accurate gene editing gets (and CRISPR is not as accurate as is claimed), the editing of genes is based on this false notion that genes can be added/removed like Lego blocks without consideration for the impact of the networked ecosystem in which they exist. This is why there is and always will be an unpredictable element to gene editing of any kind. This is the most ignored scientific fact about gene editing.

samtoo2010: I would support for that guy to make the final move to gene editing for new born. You can blame him for his action. But that progress have to be done to order to understand the effect of each human gene. As long as you do it from the people who volunteered for . That’s fine.and I would do it for my next generation if the technology is available.

Simo Jovic: Well done to the guy helping bald people.

Mia Amar: There is nothing wrong with wanting to look your best.

flury: i have never had anything positive to say about gene editing. but after watching this and learning that you can take an embryo, change its genetic code so that it doesn't carry on bad genes and can soon cause risks such as cancer or other serious diseases is extremely fascinating.

Ao S: I'm here for the hair unit. Why can women do lip fillers, weave, etc but men can't. If they feel better after then why not. Don't be ashamed

Sam De La Cruz: Wow that hair thing was awesome! Good for him. He’s changing the game!

Pedro Reviews: The hair segment was really interesting!

KingofGrace: "I can mess this hair up, if I wanna mess this hair up" -Bosley

Logan: Wow, I can't believe how real that barbers makes that hair look. Great job

Harrison: The reason I watch Vice. > Hair Weave Episode*

Lexa Garvey: The "Faux-Fro" segment was really cool. Even though he's making nearly half a million dollars, and could just monopolize the market (catering to the LeBrons and Willy Smiths), he's sharing the information and technique to enable other barbers to exponentially grow their income (and the approximately $5,000 for the seminar cost including hotel, flight and food seems somewhat reasonable) . He does think of it as a service to help people with confidence issues, and rates are similar to high end salons for color treatment.

onitJam: If I get into a fist fight and the man Im fighting hair piece comes out, I have to win that fight.

4833 4833: "Wizard of the weave" These fools out of pocket.

Self-Law: How much for the man weave? that actually looks really natural. Respect to the barber.

Crack Head: At 2:25 I thought she was about to sneeze. LOL

Maximiliano Zuñixtli: That was amazing. That last black guy looked kinda creepy but once he put on that man-do, I wanted him to do me...LMAO! xD

GGs: I like what China is doing and think other countries in Asia should do the same

priceandpride: Fast forward to 16:30 to get to the good stuff

Chiyo Kei: Why does it matter that the man is a Republican when you’re interviewing him

Hiatus.: I dig the hair. Men shouldn’t feel ashamed. Balding is genetic literally nothing these men can do to prevent it. Hair is attached to confidence.

Why Me?: What the HELL did Melania have on?

Anthony moffatt: get em bro do ur thing wade

Tony Mondola: It's LIT!!

trueleowdeo: The chinese guy is right. The human genome is not sacred and can be edited

Lorelei: God Bless you!!

JuJu Pate: Who’s the interviewer for the man weave?

Yikes: Leave it to Vice to shove politics down our throat before a video...

A DeNae: Nothin like an intelligent and handsome black man ...Wade tho‍♀️

Waldemar Braxx: How can you guys allow ads from PragerU for your videos? This goes against all of your values...

Annie: Stop living in the past !!!!!! We have enough problem today without having to think about the WWII. !! What is done is done . We are all friends now , try to live in Peace and stop the shame game .

BLUEGENE13: that wade guy is a hero

Dolphin: Alzo should keep it up

On 2Wheels: 16:31 The Vice reporter sounds similar to AA actor Adolf Caeser.

EklekTek: By far it looks a billion times more natural on african american hair than any others.

Dolphin: Absolute hair unit

Jorgeicr8: If you just clicked for the Thumbnail 16:40

Nonya FknBusiness: This is only immoral for those who make massive profits exploiting the problems created by crossbreeding.

Jacob Haire: Politics is a bargaining chip

lynwood806: Im just here for dem weaves

Jake Pearl: Yeah a guy is going to feel stupid for wanting a "MAN WEAVE"....but guys are going to be cool with putting a "UNIT" on the head?....SO DELUSIONAL

hiquality_distraction: genetic-baby dude disappeared.

devin clary: haha got em

Home-_-Town l: People wont be made equal anymore. Hows that make you feel?

Peni Parker: *Thanos has left the chat*

The Ancient One: Didn't he go missing?

racks: Let's not start customizing babies, like a character in a video game.

Abhinav Bisht: such naive and wishful thinking regarding the CRISPER program..People will eventually start using tech like that to create better superior gene edited babies..The ones who are faster, smarter ,resistant to diseases, more capable,More good looking, Slow in aging ...

devin clary: already likes and dislikes and not even after 30 seconds?

Themis Vespucci: The future is Superman vs. Brainiac

OFFONE: Vice New is actually showing news now?

Death Michael: During the history of China, a lot of foreign nations have successfully invaded and conquered China, but none of those nation could replace the original chinese culture or religion with their own, all of them eventually become chinese and share similar language, culture, religion, or identity, which is why there are 55 national minority groups in China. However, these immigrants have been a part of China for so long that we call all of them chinese people. People think that United States is a free country because they welcome immigrants and unite all of them into a single nation, which means US have all the culture and relgion from all over the world and that diversity is the fundation of freedom. Is that true? Which country is most rejective on immigrant issue now? I guess it's someone in EU or US. Which country have the most intense racism and racial minority conflicts? Countries that grant full independence and freedom for different racial groups in their country, this could be caused by national constitution or the lack of centralized national power to maintain the balance between different groups. China is trying to prevent the invasion of western ideology of racial discrimination by welcoming racial minorities into China as a chinese national minority, instead of welcoming them as a indenpendent group seperated from the rest of China and make them the target of racial discrimination. Even if China is dealing with a country that have distinct or contrary culture, China still show its full respect. That's why China can do business and have non-political and friendly relationship with countries in Africa, Middle East, and Asia. It was a shock to me that US is accusing another nation which never had any racial or cultural violance for something that US have been doing since its foundation. If a good person did a bad thing, everyone will have a huge criticism and think he is completely currupted. However, if a bad person did a good thing, everyone will think that he have learned from his mistake and will never do anything bad, but is that true? By pointing out the mistake for good person, you are making him much better than before. But if you forgive all the evil action of a bad person because he did something good today, you are encouraging him to make more mistake. China: thank you for pointing out my problem instead of your own problem, my US friend.
