Hi everybody welcome back to my channel, so today's video is going to be a short one, but a very requested one and I've been meaning to do it forever. It is my nighttime haircare routine, so it's obviously not nighttime, but the light in my house is not good despite having these nice large windows, so I thought I would film this in the afternoon so that you guys can actually see what I'm doing. So. Why is a good nighttime hair care routine important, especially when you have relaxed hair? If you have been watching my channel, you will have heard me harp on and on and on about the fact that you need to wrap your hair at night. You can't just sleep with it out rubbing up against a cotton pillow, because the cotton fabric will suck the moisture and the life out of your hair. You want to keep your hair silky, shiny, soft and, most importantly, moisturized. So what I recommend is either wrapping your hair in a silk or satin, wrap or finding a silk or satin pillowcase. Incorporating this routine into my own haircare journey was a game-changer another important thing about wrapping your hair at night. When you sleep, you're, not going to get lint or fuzz in your hair, so my hair care routine is really quite simple. It is comprised of just four things: okay, a wide toothed comb, alligator clips, and I usually just use three or four, but I lost the fourth, a really good hair moisturizer - and I love this one, which is in the glow luster glow. It is made of mainly natural ingredients, and it is the most effective hair moisturizer that I have found in a long time and a silky head scarf. I'Ve had this one for more time than I care to admit, but it's my favorite one and it does the job it's large enough for my melon sized head and it's nice and silky, so it does not suck the life out of my hair. So these are the things I use on a nightly basis, so this is what the luster glow by indigo looks like it is white cream. There you go and I use about this much on my hair, maybe a little more and before bed. I just rub it into my palm and I focus on from roots to tip, so I really focus on my ends. If you have a lot of hair, I just section it in two and just work it through that way again focusing on my ends, and I will rub it through into my edges, then I take my wide tooth comb and I usually go this way and I Will alternate every few days, so I will comb this way into a sort of beehive and then for let's say two three days and then I will comb it this way, just so that you're not stressing one side of your head more than the other, because if You wrap your hair, the same way all the time you may experience breakage on this side. Okay, so I'm really really gentle with my hair. My hair is pretty good with a tangle, so I just start from root to tip. You got the idea and you know what I'm tired. My life is super busy. So I don't I'll admit I don't do the greatest job before bed as long as it's wrapped around my head and covered in a scarf. I am happy so don't judge too much, but this method does really work for me. So this is basically what I do. I don't use a brush or anything I feel like don't need to see how it's going like that. I'M sorry, this isn't the greatest angle. I wish I had an assistant who could film me so I'm gon na put the first clip in right behind the ear, okay and then it stays. Then I start brushing from the crown excuse me. I'M combing from the crown gets a little tangled back there and then I take another clip. Then I take another clip. The second clip and I clip it behind this ear. So just turn around so you guys can see. I hope you can see that and then I am combing in front of my face you there we go all right, so I've put the third clip right there and then the ends of my hair see that just going to comb it so that it's flat there's No bubbles on top and then here are the ends, and I just clip it with that. First clip behind my ear and then there's a few strands that stick out. I clip them back again and then I just go around make sure that it's smooth. So here you go, my hair is wrapped around my head. Make sure that there's no loose ends. I look a little crazy but cute all right. Then I take my raggedy-ass scarf, forgive my language. There we go and I'm just going to tie it up. Now. You can also by do-rags, I have a few do-rags from Sally Beauty, Supply and I'll use, those in a pinch, but I prefer this scarf and then I just so you've got these these ends and I just tuck them in okay boom fabulous. My husband doesn't think so, but hey I look great in the morning. So then I find my clips. Here'S one behind the right ear. Oh my god, right ear left ear right here, I'm sorry! I am this age and I still don't know my left's and rights. There'S the other clip and the other clip is right here. I just pull it out and tada. I am ready for bed, and that is how it looks I'll just show you what it looks like in the back and then I go to bed and my hair is nice and smooth it's wrapped around my head and it's nice and secure all night. Okay. So now I'm gon na show you what it looks like when I take this thing out here. We have it, I'm just going to untie it, and this is great like if you're, in a rush in the morning, like I am every day, you don't have to do anything with your hair. I try to keep heat out of my hair, and this makes it look like you just got your hair done, so I just remove it shake it out. There we go. I find my part. I have a fine-tooth comb with a long handle at Polanco, a handle and I'll find my part and make my part nice and sharp, and then I just comb my hair out there we go, it doesn't need too much tada. I have a tangle there and this is how it looks it's nice and smooth. I generally don't curl it and yeah. I love how it looks. It'S that indigo stuff makes your hair so shiny and so soft and yeah there no styling required. I will I'll just comb it out so that you know there aren't hairs everywhere, and that is that that is my nighttime hair care routine. It'S very simple for me: what is your nighttime haircare routine? I love to learn just like all of you guys, I'm so very grateful that you guys follow along for tips, but I want to learn too. So. Please share your secrets in the comment section. amber b: Hey fav! I’m the exact same way at night, as long as it’s wrapped and I can put the scarf on, I’m good to go I use a similar wrap routine before bed, but once again you have helped me step up my hair care game! Using clips to hold the hair while you wrap and then removing them after you put the scarf on is brilliant. I’m always doing this weird pose to make sure my hair doesn’t fall from the wrap while I grab the scarf to put it on thank you

Christine: Great video, thank you Dominique! I used the same routine at night, but in the morning one side always stays up, while the other is smooth. I think it's because i always wrap my hair starting from the same side (left) so i'll try now to alternate every other day. My main issue is when i'm passed 10-12 weeks post-relaxer, i use a bit more of the moisturizers and oils to keep my roots and strands moisturized, and as a result my wrapping routine ends with a messy, sluggish catastrophe in the morning. Since then, past 10 weeks post relaxer, I have stopped wrapping my hair and simply attach it with a bobby pin. I guess around that time, I'd need to use less product but then i'm afraid my hair becomes drier....

Nikki: I bought the Joico moisture recovery set. I absolutely love it ! It smells amazing & my hair feels great afterwards. Now I'm in desperate need of a moisturizers because my hair is extremely dry.

Marcy Webb: I recently purchased the Indigo Luster Glo Hair Creme. Thank you for the recommendation. I applied it as I was flat ironing my freshly shampooed, conditioned and wrap-dried hair, which resulted in hair that is very soft, shiny, manageable and full. That was Friday evening. On Saturday evening, thinking that I should be following the standard practice of nightly moisturizing, I applied more of the Luster Glo product to the lengths and ends of my hair. What a mistake! My hair retaliated. Not only was my hair feeling and looking rather limp, the additional application of product resulted in some half pieces of hair coming out in the comb, in fact, more than I wanted to see. That had NEVER happened before. So, this evening - Sunday - I did not apply additional Luster Glo to my hair; it didn't need it. Since the episode of the previous evening, no half pieces of hair. Which is all to say: Some people need to moisturize daily/nightly. I, apparently, do not. In fact, too much moisture can be as harmful to one's hair as too much protein. Moisturizing 1-2 times per week may be more than enough for my hair, and just focusing on my ends. My Dear Mom always said don't do more to the hair than it needs, and my hair typically remains well-moisturized between weekly shampooing and conditioning without needing to apply cremes and oils. I will continue to closely monitor my hair's response to the Luster Glo product as time progresses.

Marguerita Hayworth: Hi, great idea to take the pins out after wrapping! I use Bobbi pins and it doesn't work to take them out- I can feel my hair fall down in the scarf and it drives me nuts, lol. It takes forever to get them comfortable leaving them in. But I'm going to try your wrap and moisturize idea! My hair is relaxed and maybe 3 inches longer than yours. I twist it in one piece at the back then pin it high and twist the ends under and secure with another bobbi pin. Then I wrap in a cotton scarf, as silk scarves *always* slip off! I've been using this nighttime routine for over 30 years. The longest my hair has gotten was nearly to my waist in 2008. My goal is to get it to the top of my jeans, but it won't seem to get longer than upper waist length. Anyway, in the morning taking it down the way I twist it, it has beachy waves. I shake it out and go! And as a single mom, quick beachy waves in the morning are a real good thing, lol!

Sunshyne3640: Super Tips! I need to reincorporate this routine back in my hair care routine! You're right, it really does make a difference!

Liam Smith: Dom, how often do you get a protein treatment and what product do you use? I know the protein/moisture balance is SUPER important! thks lovely!

Kalisha J: I am so faithful to my scarf its ridiculous. I have fallen asleep without it and I will wake up and put it on, lol. I don't flat iron often but when I do my routine is the same except I use it's a ten plus keratin for my moisturizer. Great video

Marie D: Great tips. I purchase the Indiglo Lustre Glo Hair Moisturizer because of you and I looove it. Thanks a bunch. I always have a problem wrapping when I do my relaxer stretches because the roots are thick/kinky. It seems like its putting more stress on my hair. Are you still able to wrap if/when this happens to you. Maybe I will just through that question out to everyone..lol. Btw, your makeup looks wonderful. Please what blush and lipstick are you wearing?

Carbonet: Super healthy relaxed hair, congrats!!!

Natasha Moore: I agree with you my life is super buzy too but I do faithfully wrap my hair up at night.Any good advice for taking good care of relaxed hair is greatly appreciated.Thank you

Cheryl AR: My routine is almost exact. Just don't use the clips but I probably should. Thanks for sharing the indigo. I wrap my hair religiously with a silk scarf. It's ripped and torn but it gets the job done ... And I oil the ends - I got that tip from you... I use a wide-tooth comb but I also use a paddle blow dry brush. The hair stays in place without using clips.

Deidre D: I can never wrap my hair good. I’m going to try this method, great video, thanks for sharing

Tiondra Markwell: Love this video so informative! Thank you.

Danyellg: I have to admit that the indiglo creme is bomb.com! I dont wrap my hair at night. I do use a doo rag or silk scarf. I just twist and roll with 4 to 5 flex rods..

dorcas glaydor: Mmmm! This is the EASIEST hair wrap I have seen!! Lovely, and FABULOUS!

Marie Golden: I don't even seen a single strand of broken hair on your comb, I so pray for that day.

Ang C: Thanks for the tips. I was wondering why, one side was breaking off and starting to thin out.

Tiondra Markwell: Love this video so informative! Thank you.

Tracey Lennon: Cross wrapping is good..it doesn't cause the same tension as regular wrapping.. there's a great tutorial that has the same way you use the alligator clips!

priscilla faith: “I look a little crazy.. but cute ” is a mood hahaha great video thank you

Tia Shadae: So glad I found your channel <3

Akosua Pomaah: Nice hair. I have a permed and I am on a healthy hair journey especially with this quarantine. How many times do you recommend me washing my hair in a week

rihanña pôrter: Great tips✨✨❤

Sapphire Relaxed Hair: Nice routine I have to use my comb to start to wrap and then my paddle brush to finish, my scarf is ragley too and that's just because of washing I wash my scarf every week I have two scarves and one do rag I really like wearing the scarves versus wearing the doo rags. And my husband doesn't like the scars when I go to bed either tell him I can't sleep on my hair when I take a nap with him that's when I do but then I have to put a little oil on it brush it and then wrap it up for our LOL and then take it back down he just doesn't understand. Thank you so much God bless you

Rasheika Atkins: Would the Indigo Glo moisturizer work for fine hair? My hair is easily weighed down

Sherry Stephens: Great video!

Tina DJC: Thanks for sharing. New subscriber here ✨

Trish Alexandria Manning: yup I been doing this routine from i started my relaxed hair journey but I have those one or two days where I'm too tired to moisturize and wrap my head and then I wake up with dry hair and then I feel like I want to die cause I don't want my hair to break off

Yackiesha Baker: I'm a set up my hair every night person but recently learn about wrapping hair so I tried it but all of it never yet hold but you give me an idea with the alligator pins which I'm going to replace with hair pins that I have, thanks

Nicole Campbell: My hair is about the same length or a little longer..i always put it in bun ..but ive been noticing that part of my hair looks so much shorter...i dnt like wrapping my hair ..some reason it leave a tension on one side of my head so i stop...

Barbara Larkins: I bet the luster glo is nice do you know if it's sold in the states? The Cute little cowboy hat pic my favorite IG Picture post last week! I've never been successful in wrapping my hair, I just "Always" M&S, faithfully!

Neusa Van-Dunem: where can i find the hair moisturizer?

butterfly9274: Omg! You are so funny“at this age I don’t know what’s left or right”

Charlotte Clark: At night I apply JBCO message it in and tie my hair up with two scarfs and a bonnet !!!

Liam Smith: BOOM...Fabulous! LOL! Tell Ryan to get it into it. That's how QUEENS go to sleep. Muah!

Ahrabia: My scalp is always dry. My hair will moisturize but I need something for my scalp. Any suggestions?

gbritaney: I love Joico! I also love biolage.

Flatbedladyv: i always get tiny pimples on my forehead where the knot rests. my hair is so dry i need that moisturizer

rah rah: love this video you are so funny.

tonia Mitchell: Top knot and go to bed .., I tried all of this and the scarf ends up on the floor and my husband hated it

Shania Smith: Can u do a video on why the ends of your hair is dry

Carmen Garcia: Hi I send to get the Glo moisture what do you use for relaxer
