Hey everybody, it's jenn Everts at the hair extension geek today. I want to talk to you a little bit about human hair, what's remy hair, what's non remy, hair and inverted hairs, and how this is really important when you're trying to choose your hair extension manufacturer that you want to purchase from so remy hair remy hair refers To hair that basically has cuticle going all in one direction: non remy hair refers to hair where we actually have to remove the cuticle reason being that we would remove cuticle off of non remy hair. Is that the way its collecting so following hairs taken off of a brush put into a basket? That'S transported to a factory, because we don't know which way the cuticle is going. We have to use an alkaline with an asset to strip the cuticle off of the hair. This is suitable for a clipping extension extension that you wear, maybe one to two times a week now. The reason why we have to remove the cuticle is because there's a term out there, it's called inverted hairs and what that refers to is when you have cuticle going in two different directions. Now, if you remember what cuticle looks like under a microscope, it's like branches. So if I have it going in two different directions: it's going to tangle with each other and that's definitely something you don't want. Those are actually the four stories you hear about when the client comes into the salon. The hair is tangled, is drawn up and no matter how much combing, how much detangling, how much conditioner you is. It'S not going to help! You have to remove those extensions now going back to remin hair, a misconception that I'd like to clear up about remy hair is that it doesn't catch or tangle. There'S certain amount of tangling, that's natural that happens with their own hair. If you run your hands through an extension and it doesn't have that site catch towards the ends more than likely you're actually feeling hair, that is probably non remy hair, because the cuticle has been fully removed. Remy hair is really talked up in the industry as kind of the end-all be-all of hair extensions, but really the quality as far as hair extension comes in how the hair is processed. As you know, if you're taking hair from a level 12 a-12, the amount of processing that goes through, you have to be extremely careful in doing so so just a little bit of information for you to kind of be armed with knowledge. So when those clients ask those questions, you have the answers. Thanks for tuning, you
