Can you guys believe it? It'S been three years since I launched my very first youtube video and that video was one that you guys always requested. It was how to achieve my beachy curls with my short hair. So three years have passed, I'm using some of the same products, I'm using a lot of the same techniques, but I got bangs and I've learned a few things along the way since I've had short hair. So I decided it was about time to update you guys with a new tutorial on how I get my short beachy waves. So here you go. You guys asked so before we get started on the tutorial. Here'S the items you're going to need to achieve my everyday beachy waves. Look. So I use the detox dry shampoo by dry bar your favorite hair spray. I love the Tresemme hair spray and, of course, my go-to, always the dry texturising spray by or bay. Those are gon na, be the three like actual products. Now as far as tools, some sort of clip to part your hair, your hair brush. I recently picked this one up: it's the wet dry brush, so I can brush my hair with it wet or I can brush my hair with a dry and, of course, your curling iron. This is a Hot Tools, curling iron. I like it because it heats up quickly, it's really inexpensive, and this is the one inch barrel now for this tutorial. Your hair can either be clean or dirty. Mine is about two days dirty. It doesn't really do better or worse if it's clean or dry. I think personally, dirty hair does better, but my dirty hair is conditioned to curl better, so you're gon na just want to brush out your hair. Obviously - and I've got some layers in my hair, which I think also helps with the texture, you're gon na - want to part your hair and we're gon na start with the section on the bottom now. The first thing I do is spray a little bit of dry shampoo, just to kind of get some time. This is actually isn't for texture. This is actually for oil on the bottoms to those areas that, but I do everything in sections now and then you're gon na want to start and just pieces that are maybe about an inch and a half thick and to start you're gon na start. At your face and curl backwards and then you're gon na leave a little bit out, let it sit for about five seconds and then wind it all the way around and then pull down. So when you do that, pull down you'll notice that that straightens your ends. I want to wait for my face on the first piece, I'm gon na go towards my hair or towards my face with my hair on the next piece, and I'm gon na alternate those that is one of the biggest things that it's different from this video versus The original video and now, let's just go ahead and do that all over this layer of your house. Okay! So now that we've got all of the curls we're gon na, let them cool jump, don't brush them through yet, but go through with your orb, a dry texturizing spray and just get it up in there. Okay, so next section - and this gets a little tricky for me - because I've got some of these weird layers that I'm growing out for my bank - we've got to manipulate these little guys to twist back in, because I want them just to like blend in with the Rest of my hair and not blend in with my bangs, and look like a shag doll, so they get a little bit more curl than the other pieces, because I want them to really like wind into the with my hair. So I started to the face away from the face and now we're gon na go, and this section didn't seem as sturdy surprisingly, so I didn't spray it with dry shampoo, be careful with your dry shampoo, because you'll notice that it'll really start to give you some Buildup it'll also start to change kind of this texture and the color of your hair, not in a great way so be be generous with it, but that size looks a little. I call them my fangs they're, my SPO bang and you go. I always like to pieces around my face to go away from my face. I think I sleep on this side of my head, because this side always just likes to be what is that? Okay, okay and I always kind of just go back yes, okay and then same thing as before. Just work a little texturizer through that and let those curls cool. Now the last option, this I kind of do in fourths. I do the back first on the right and then the left and then I do and then I do the front same thing, some towards your face, some away from your face and once you get to the top, do smaller pieces just so you get more of That, like piscina sand texture, if I've noticed if you curl pieces in smaller sections, I think the curl personally like lasts a little bit longer. Okay, almost done up here and when I get to the faceoff. So I keep the curling iron a little closer to my head just so I can really do some of get some of that volume that lived right there. Okay, so our whole head is curl. This is different than the last video also so I'm gon na brush all of them out, you're like no. You did all that hard work well, because I don't want to look like Shirley Temple. That'S why so work that product through your hair, you'll, see which pieces kind of want to get textured and which pieces are just gon na be that day and that's fine? Okay, I have surveyed the situation and discovered that this girl right here doesn't want to cooperate. So I kind of just go back through and recur all the pieces that woke up one side of the bed: okay, so she's cool. Now, so this is one I typically decide which side of my hair looks like if one side looks worse than the other side. That'S the side that goes behind the ear. If they both look good, then they both get a little judging, but the sides it is just that day is the side that I typically toss behind my ear. So on this particular day, it's going to be this side of my head, so I go through I pop my hair in half kind of like I did earlier. Just tease it a little bit underneath there just to get some volume for me. I, like the volume to be right around my ears. Thank a lot of this honestly is just going through and just playing with your hair and seeing who wants to go where and if you know me, you know what there means doc done it off now. I usually go underneath here and set the parts at 18 and then obvious for the bank. There it is there, you have it folks, if you like this video, please give me two thumbs up and of course, head over to currently calm for even more like beauty and fashion inspiration, and if you see me on the streets and my hair is tucked behind My ears, you guys now know and just let them chill the eff out dude. They look scary now, but still it cute later. I promise tennis. I was gon na say the word finger, but that's weird like finger yourself. Why Courtney? Why is a really intelligent comment? Wasn'T it but really go through and like finger yourself,
