What'S good everybody, it's your main girl mel and in today's video we're going to be getting ready for my birthday party for my annual melody party this year i decided to throw a theme party for this special occasion. I turned 25, so i thought we could jive. I don't know what that was, but the theme is the 70s. It'S gon na be a disco, dance party. So without further ado, let's get ready. Okay, i'm super excited because i already tested out the new technique that i'm going to be doing to achieve this. Look, i'm actually going to be styling, my hair with a couple new tangle teezer tools, so i'm working with on today's video i'm so excited because this is life changing. This is tangle, teaser's, wide tooth comb that is dual ended, making it multi-purpose and extra fabulous. So, first i'm just going to prep my hair with some leave-in conditioner, i'm just using something light, i'm using a spray. I don't want to weigh my hair down. I really wanted to define gravity and now i'm going to start detangling. So here's what i recommend you do. I'Ve honestly never been one that has liked detangling with a wide tooth comb, but first of all, this is really easy to hold, so it makes it very comfortable, in my hand, making it easy to detangle and, most importantly when i do feel a really tough tangle. Those little knots that are tougher to reach - i can just flip the comb around and use the side with the short two-tiered teeth that are super flexible to even further detangle. But i kid you not that's, not even the best pot, i'm going to be using this to style my hair now for a styling product. I am going to use a foam and curl foaming gel to be specific because it is water-based. It'S going to be nice and lightweight, but still going to give me hold and shape to define and de-frizz my hair. So not only does the flexible end with the two-tiered teeth to help get a deeper detangle, but it's also going to really help to distribute product throughout the hair, which is really important in order to get a defined curl pattern all throughout the head. So, just as i always do, i'm going to be taking my thin vertical sections along the head, taking one pass with the shorter two-tiered teeth side like so, and then flipping the brush around to go through with the long wide set. This wide tooth comb is specifically for use on wet or damp hair, whatever you prefer, my hair is damp to start out and it is specifically designed for those with curly and coily hair. These long wide set teeth are going to be a little bit more gentle on the hair because they won't put as much tension. So if you have really fine and fragile hair, it's not a bad idea to start detangling with a wide tooth comb. Now we actually don't just have to stop here. Tangle teezers, certainly didn't. They also came out with this hair pick, which is huge okay for reference. It'S massive. It'S got these very long teeth and if you look closely at these teeth, just like on the wide tooth comb, they actually have. This bottle shape they're kind of wider at the base, with a thinner, tip and they're, also rounded, which makes them gentle to use on the scalp and really easy to dig right into the root for fluffing. This you can also use on wet or damp hair, and with it being so big, you can cover a lot of surface area with every pick making styling super quick and i'm just using the pick to lift up at the root area. This is breaking up the curl pattern at my root, which is going to make them really puffy, but that's going to give me the volume that i want to see now, i'm going to move on to this top section doing the same thing. We were just doing reapplying my phone, then using my wide tooth comb to gently brush it through, and then i can go in with the deeper detangling and defining honestly. This changed my whole perspective on using wide tooth combs. I think it's very cool these designs are very innovative and you will see how the results speak for themselves. After i finish drying, and just so you know, you will also be able to see links for these in the description box below this video. If you want to check out either of these tools perfect now as expected, i am running out of time. So what am i going to do? I'M going to quickly plot my hair in my microfiber towel so now my curls are nice and tucked into here, which i didn't mention, but of course what is this super cute microfiber towel? It is the limited edition maze by mel x, the perfect hair care print, which also happens to be extremely groovy very on theme for the 70s. But besides looking like a cutie, this is also going to help to absorb a little excess product all while keeping my hair out of my face. While i start with my makeup now, this is going to be tricky because i really want to look glam, but also i'm going to be sweaty, it's the middle of july. It'S the end of july. I'M not gon na lie it's basically winter time, but no, we are peak summer. I will obviously be dancing and sweating, so i'm using a gripping primer to really help to hold my makeup in place. This is the elf power grip primer, very sticky, a little bit icky, but all over a good cause. Okay, and really quickly we're gon na let that marinate and i have to help some other people get ready. Here. We have luki, we miss him. We love him. We are going to style him, i'm going to slightly awaken the hair, i'm going to take a little bit of our styling foam. It'S kind of giving elvis presley rock and roll lose conversation a little more one man down next one to go now that that's out of the way. Let me just do my eye base, you know what they say not to. Prime is a crime. Thank you. Queen nikkietutorials now on my eyes, i'm going to be using this from my true queen, miss lady gaga house laboratories. This is the high power pigment paint in mint matte. I'M going to be using this all over my eyes for a very, very 70s. Look, i'm scared. Just a little bit we're going for it. I actually think this is going to be really promising this. Actually, this is stunning trust. The process trust the process. Okay, so now to make it glittery, i'm going to take some of this urban decay solstice it's this glittery eyeshadow the reflect it's like it's mint, but then it's almost pink. Maybe i should test it. No, i think it's going to be good. I think it's going to be good yeah! That'S stunning! Now i'm gon na take this fenty beauty. This is the diamond, balm and i'll just put this on the rest work this up, because it's less pigmented and just glittery glowy. Oh my god. Oh my goodness! This is so comfortable on my eyeballs. If it doesn't crease in my creases that are oily, i will be so impressed and that's what i'm hoping for. Okay now, i'm gon na conceal, don't feel. Oh, my god, you look great. Oh, my god, you look great come in here. You look great, you look great sweetie. Oh my god, you look great and i'm running late, i'm going to start diffusing. We are going to be diffusing for maximum volume here, scrunching because it's going to be also the quickest drying i'll, be right back, okay, i'm sweating and i'm done diffusing, and i'm almost done my makeup and the hair. It'S time to finish, how do we do that by adding a gloss? First, i've got to finish glossing these lips. This is also health laboratories. This is a phd hybrid lip oil and that orange color. Oh, my god, i'm obsessed, i'm obsessed! This is the hair and it's cast. It'S got a nice light hole, that's not too crunchy and we're gon na do a lot of fluffing. So i'm gon na take some hair oil just a little bit. I don't want to do anything. That'S going to be too thick we're going to use some bobby pins to pin up my bangs. What i like to do is just stick these in vertically open. This is the only time i like to open bobby pins. Otherwise i stick them in closed you'll. Get better grip? Okay, i think we're looking pretty good. I think i just need to get my outfit together and we may or may not be ready guests are about to start writing. I think we're ready. People are absolutely arriving and i feel freaking fabulous. I am ready to take on this party, but i just want to sincerely thank you for all the birthday wishes and for getting ready with me today. We tried out best though with the limited information out there but mostly blew our hair out. Once more information came I embraced it and used it to show others that we can all wear our natural curls. I saw huge differences and was very happy. But then as you age your hair can change and behave differently. This started happening to me and my roots started to believe they were wavy rather than curly and lie flat against my head. No matter what I did they just wouldn't curl up. Drove me crazy. But now I have changed how I style it using only 2 of your tips and it has fixed the problem.
