I am most fearful about just cutting my hair.. I don't really get haircuts, so I am used to just having it the same all the time, and this is going to be something really different. Hi, I'm Chiara and today I'm getting curtain bangs.. But before you see my transformation subscribe below., So throughout my life, I've pretty much had the same hair.. My hair is really straight and I've been scared of making any changes. I've gone between blonde and brown, so the colors pretty much stay. The same. I've been trying to grow my hair out for a really long time and it's finally out of a length that I really like.. I really want curtain bangs, because I think this is like the cutest hair trend ever.. I really want to add some volume and bounce and just make my hair more fun, more sass and attitude.. It'S pretty just boring right now and it's like at one length., I'm excited for this huge change. Hi, I'm Aaron Watkins., I'm a Cut Specialist in Beverly Hills at Salon. Kazumi. I've been cutting hair. As long as I can remember., I grew up at a salon.. I attract a lot of clients who want a drastic, change. Somebody's going from long hair to short hair.. They grow it out and they want a bob or they want like a lob or they want to add bangs.. So just a lot of drastic changes. Hi. How are you Nice to meet you. Hi? I am Chiara nice to meet you. Nice nice.. So I hear we're going to be thinking about doing curtain bangs today.. I want to do curtain bangs yeah. After we do the consultation, then we're going to have my assistant wash her and then we'll blow dry. It smooth. And then we'll kind of help determine exactly where we want the bangs to sit on her face. With the curtain. Bangs, you kind of want to cut it shorter in the middle, in the middle of the part and longer out towards the perimeter., Where it kind of pushes away from your face to kind of get all of that curtain sweeping kind of look.. When I first get a brand new client in my chair, I always cut the curtain bangs quite a bit longer.. I start at the chin just for the shock. Value. Then we'll progressively go shorter because you can't put it back on after you cut short. After you cut the curtain bangs, then you want to kind of like slightly face frame it to blend down to the bangs.. You don't want to just have like a short bang and then nothing to connect to the bottom.. It'S kind of like a face frame.. I thought about getting curtain bangs when I saw the trend kind of blossom in midsummer, but I was kind of fearful of doing it. And then I just thought about it. A lot and I was like `` Okay - need this change to happen. Quarantine's been so dull. I need to just vamp everything up with my hair.''. After we finished the cut, we went through and curled her hair pretty tightly because her hair is so straight just for it could fall to a nice little beachy wave. Curtain bangs are going to give hair like Chiara here's more volume around the face and more movement Around the face. Curtains bangs can be really really quick.. It can be in and out in 15 20 minutes if you have a skilled stylist., But the look can be very, very drastic for something that just really so quick. All right. You can open.. Oh my God. I love it., Oh my gosh, I'm so glad I did this.. This is so pretty.. I love the curtain. Bangs They're perfect.. Thank you so much Aaron. I love it. It always feels good to make a client get exactly what they want and make them feel good., And I was happy for her that she got to get the change that she wanted. Curtain bangs. They can be longer, they also can be shorter, but for her with the long hair it was going to work out better with longer curtain bangs.. I am so excited by new hair.. I love it.. I never thought that I would be happy with cutting bangs and having my hair. This short, but I'm obsessed with it., I literally couldn't be happier.. So Aaron actually showed me a couple of ways to maintain this. Look after he styled my hair., And so I'm going to get a natural round brush and blow it out so that it flows out like it does right. Now. Every single day., Low maintenance, easy. I can handle that.. This looks makes me feel so confident.. My hair feels so bouncy and fun and I feel like it has sass and attitude that it didn't have before.. Refinery29: Have you ever gotten bangs before? Share your hair journey with us here!

Sarah Rose: I agree with the other comments. Those aren't bangs, but just face-framing layers. She's pretty and can rock true curtain bangs. Plus it is not necesarry to chop off so much hair from the sides. Yes, you should have some sort of transition between the short and long pieces, but he chopped off so much, it looks too thinned out. I have fine hair too and I recommend to leave as much thickness as possible or else you have no volume left at the ends. I think she would look amazing with a Brigitte Bardot style

occultgf: the day i see a stylist on refinery29 actually cut someone legit curtain bangs i can die happy. today is not that day.

Mitsu - San: Ok so nobody's gonna talk about how *GORGEOUS* she looks omg

lisaslittlelife: It looks good but they basically gave her face-framing layers. Once she washes it, it'll look the same as before.

Laura B: Haha, I get that they're still really long, but to me that makes a ton of sense. Clearly for HER this is a big change. She said in the beginning she gets nervous about haircuts. Like he said she can always go shorter, growing out too short bangs takes way more time.

nekomatapew: Is refinery's strategy to always give us mediocre results so we keep clicking, longing for the day one of these videos turns out right??

lulu's h e a r t: She never cuts her hair because from a young age she probably was complimented on how beautiful she is and how pretty her hair is. It messes with you because you don’t want to not be called that.

Kailah M. Adefolalu: He did a great job! This looked really good on her!

Charley Ava: this is so pretty!! it fits her so well! they always do an amazing job with hair and these videos are great to watch when you don’t want to think about anything, it’s great to take your mind off things.

Madison: This curtain bang thing is literally just layers that are styled to curl into your face like bangs. One wash and it’ll go back to just how it looked before. Why can’t any of these stylists give these people real curtain bangs???

nope k bye: She’s adorable. Great haircut for her face & personality.

Angela Watson: Your new hairstyle looks amazing! Aaron done an awesome job cutting your hair! If I had the ability to go to him I would☺️

alexdaigoro: in conclusion, save yourself the covid exposure by staying home and curling your hair

Marana Blake: I was literally just thinking of how I got curtain bangs last week & look like a 70s flowerchild

Mattie: She looks amazing. Well done guys.

Jennifer Marie Rios: The only thing consistent about this channel is how disappointed I am by every video.

MadeinUk: Ok, I love this look, always have but... This isn't a new trend. They've been around since the 70's. I first started cutting curtain fringes over 5 years ago. I always had clients come to me to get theirs cut. They also don't always need to be curled. Great job and looks lovely

Kd: I so wish I had her hair texture! She looks SO lovely!

faiza sultana: I love this look, surely one of the best hair me out vid❤️✨

Anna Smith: The bangs look great on her!

Amanda Smith: Loved how her hair turned out! I personally wouldn’t get them on my hair but with her long hair it turned out great!

getlowpapoose: She looks great! They really suit her

Elizabeth Hughes: I love these videos ❤️‍♀️

Selin: Even the most subtle change can really transform someone wow

Kristina: shes gorgeous and I love the hair!!

Gabriela: Great video! Thanks Refinery29!!! ❤

Danielle Rodgers: If she just curled her hair to begin with, wouldn’t it look the same?

Liz K: I was really hoping to see curtain bangs styled with straight hair. I’ve got pin straight hair too and I hate curling it seems to be the only way to style it unless I want to look like Anna Wintour’s wig farm

Twokids Mom: His cut and styling is A+. Great results

Maria Rodriguez: Best haircut with curtain bangs I’ve seen yet . Outstanding

Matt LaLuz: I love how she pronounces curtain as “cur-din”

Laura Smith: 'you can be in and out in 15 minutes with a skilled stylist' well how long did it take you hunnie?

Heartbeatzofficial: She’s living her best ABBA 70s life

Cancerian48: She looks absolutely gorgeous with her new bangs and her hair cut a bit shorter.

Viktória Csóka: Because of her *beautiful* faceshape, this is the type of curtain bang that fits her, Okay?

Jess Lim: DAMN.................. I need his haircut in my life. He’s amazing.

Danielle Salvia: I’m a hairdresser and and personally I would have made the center shorter. It looks like face framing pieces more then bangs

Sophie: Didn't know I'm wearing curtain bangs too... I always called them layers... Guess you never stop learning ‍♂️

Shaeee: Curtain bangs look beautiful I wish I would’ve got them instead of normal bangs but I didn’t really know to much atm

Jess Kaplan: Omg they look so good!!!

Peachy Heartthrob: I wanted that, I had grown my bangs out to unter my nose and wanted to cut them into curtain bangs, but then I messed up (I usually don't...) and then I had to get short straight bangs because it looked horrible. Man I wish I didn't do it.

Emma Jean: Reminds me of Kaley Cuoco's hair in The Flight Attendant. Looks great!

JewelsView: The cut and her color is a good combo

random stuff: We need more curtain bangs

Coolramvishnu: I watched this video to know what exactly are curtain bangs and ended up learning what is NOT curtain bang hairstyle

not a pinterest girl: i am seriously considering getting curtain bangs they’re so cute but i’m not sure if i’ll look good? i have brown wavy(ish) hair

MyS: She looks adorable both before and after, but this is a typical haircut that requires hair to be curled, in my opinion.  Having the same hair of her, I cannot even think about having it "done" every day (to much effort)

Nicky Witch: Love her hair!

Meryl Bonderow: Those aren’t bangs, though. I’m confused.

Kaylee Bourguignon: She’s so gorgeous

wakpak3000: Finally someone with fine, stick straight hair! Love to see it!

Suhani Rana: all they did was cut 2 strands of hair... my hair does this by itself lmaoooo... I'm pretty sure actual curtain bangs require more hair... but if she likes it that's all that matters.

What Huh?: difference: 2%

Ben M: She's gorgeous!

Ayanna: This is such a coincidence because I was going to cut myself some bangs today but then this video was uploaded now I'm thinking of doing curtain bangs instead

Amy Regan: I love this!

fairy기정: these are popular in korea too! subtle but good if you style it right

Jemma J: love it

catscaresme: I WANT TO SEE BANGS!!! PUBLIZITY LEVEL BANGS!

ava2hot19: Um ok so she still doesn’t have bangs and I wouldn’t have paid more than $10 for this but wow she has such pretty hair.

Shaeee: Oh and she is beautiful all the refinery 29 workers are but like she is so gorgeous

Sunayna Menon: I want curtain bangs, but I have curly hair:

pearl31st: You have to style them for them to look different/visible

DIVYANJALI PATNAIK: I love curtain bangs and got it on me too and I was inspired by Dakota Johnson

Ruby: Wouldn’t the look the same if she curled her hair including her face framing pieces

Fenrir: Jokes on you I cut curtain bangs myself with a pair of paper scissors and I went more bold than this and it looked 10x more noticeable

Georgi Porgi: She looks like Whitney Port, so gorgeous!

Alexandra Davis: Love the stylist

Alessandra Donnelly: Love this trend!

Vaibhavi Singh Rajput: I also want a haircut but my mommy never let me do it

Aidee Paredes: She's happy with practically nothing.

Celina: I’ve always wanted bangs tbh but from my hair being so curly it’s so much harder but like SIS SIS YOUR HAIR LIKE PERIODT

MsTeacake1982: That's not a curtain fringe, that's a jaw length layer. Seriously, they never actually end up with the style or colour promised on this show. A curtain fringe is 60's Bardot style

they call me taxes: I wanna cut bangs too but im scare of if its not fit me LMAO

♡Gemma the lizard girl♡: You look so sooooooooooooooooooooooo pretty

Scarlet Foxx: Great video

Bal: She is so beautiful

patriciana: In... what universe... are these BANGS?!

Berry: I want that hairstyle omg

Karina Torres: This is hardly even bangs. It's just really long bangs out of the way. You wouldn't even know she has bangs. LOL I laugh when I see other woman say they are getting bangs and chicken out.

Dexter Lopez: would love too see a guy makeover on here

Diego Mercado: Okay i think those are layers...it looks good though

Stefanie: These aren't curtain bangs

Krutika: Am I the only one who is having a hard time understanding where her bangs are?

50GUITAR50: Looks exactly the same.

Franny P.: No it's not bangs Refinery29! Enough with the clickbait title! Bangs is something short enough to fall across the forehead may it be curtain, side, full or whatever style of bangs! I wonder why this lady is making a fuss out of getting some layers on their hair. I had bangs for most of my life and it was never a big deal being of Asian decency bangs especially full straight across bangs has always been a staple on salons here in Asia from our youth to adulthood. So pls enough using the word bangs just to make a clickbait title for views! Very disappointing of you Refinery29.

rsartore12: Can we stop pretending that "bangs" of this length are bangs? If they aren't at or above your brows, they are simply layers in the hair.

Snee Schiffer: I am just not getting it what's that big deal about getting bangs I literally have cut my bangs out of blue and now I trim it every two week for pErFeCtIoN and all by myself...

Judith: She is doing the most.

Gray: I see literally no difference

orangutan shades: This ain’t no bangs, I can frame my hair on my own too Refinery’s content is chaotic as fuck

Ana Rio: Did I miss the part where she got bangs?

Sun Shine: With a bouffant she will look like a 70s disco girl

Angie Leigh: Ummmm "curtain bangs" are nothing new or exciting! Sorry, that look was famous in the 70s! Just saying! Lol

DIASY H: Wait That's not a curtain bangs...!!! Seriously are those hairdressers on this channel are really hairdressers??

TriniBelle111: give me back my 3:51 that I just wasted… y’all need to stop doing us like this. Not the 1st/2nd x w|these subpar transformations.

xiao: Wow i wanna get curtain bangs and my mom wont let me get them..

Jada Wilson: Seems like the type of chick to have a full blown break down over her hair. Tragic.

ᴛᴀᴇ ʟᴏᴠᴇ: That’s quite expensive for the same look
