Hey guys welcome back to my channel now I know some of you are expecting to see the date night look quick today, but unfortunately it didn't quite pan out how I was expecting it to so. I'Ve had to suck that one off and instead I've brought this video forward, because so many of you have been asking me how I style my hair since having the big chunk. So it was a couple of weeks ago. I believe - and I filmed this all in a vlog - I went off to the hairdresser's and decided to have a rather drastic cut. Now I had about 4 inches off from the length of my hair, how it was before, and the reason for this was because I fancied a bit of a change and also I like, hair with minimal fuss and minimal fat. Now I've had a couple of weeks to play around with having my hair this length and I just find it so much easier to style to maintain and my getting ready time is around about 15 minutes now. I know a lot of you guys want to know how I actually curl it of which curling tongue or iron I use, and I promise I will get to that in a minute, but because I wear my hair like this most of the time I just wanted To run through a few of the products that I use and the technique that I use as well to get this kind of shaggy just got out of bed look, so I tend to wash my hair and have a shower either late afternoon to early evening, and The reason behind that is because I like to let my hair naturally dry, so once I hop out the shower, I give it a quick towel dry and then i spritz in a couple of products, so number one is bumble and bumble a thickening spray and I'll. Let you just give a few spritzes of this: distribute it evenly throughout my hair, followed by another Bumble and Bumble products which is the surf spray, and this gives that kind of salty texture to it again, just a few spritzes of this through my hair and then I brush through using a rather attractive shade of green wet brush. Now I know the color is hideous, but if you guys are each struggling to find a brush which gets through knots and if the tangle teezer isn't quite doing it whew, I would definitely suggest trying away brush. So once I brush through my hair, I just give it a quick ruffle up with my fingers and then that's it. I leave it I've just let it air dry and then obviously I go to bed wake up in the morning and sometimes it can look a little bit fluffy so to get rid of venues that fluff and just to give it a little bit more texture. I use this, which I actually featured in my last hair tutorial video and I still love Ally, absolutely swear by this product. So it is the 30 stay stylist XXL volume spray. It also is a dry shampoo as well, and I'm going to show you guys now how I use it so give it a quick shake, and I just lift up some sections of my hair and give it a quick blast and do it in the back as Well, now most dry shampoos, you have to august massage it into your head, so just give that a quick, little massage and guess myself in the price sites use in a well-ventilated area. Hopefully you guys can see how it gives just a little bit of volume. Obviously, you can add a little bit more in as and when you need it depending on how thick your hair is, but it just adds a bit of oomph and a bit of sort of sexy just got out of bed bite right now. If I have a little bit more time on my hands or if I want my hair to look a little bit nicer, then I might want to add a slight curl or wave to my hair. So for this I'm just gon na go hop in the shower. So that I can show you guys and start from scratch with wet hair right, so I have just given my hair, a quick wash in the shower, and then I've just run to that with my head in a towel. So now I'm gon na start to show you guys look what I did so I'll give it a quick towel dry it just to absorb up any of the like heavy bits of moisture within the length of the hair. So don't rub it too aggressively just give it a quick kind of Pat it's the only thing with having hair this short when you get out of the shower and do this, if you just look like a crazy person right, let's say that's, probably dry enough and Then I'm gon na go to my two favorite products. So, first of all, Bumble and Bumble is thickening spray, not in your eye and then followed by again bubbler mumble the surf spray. I absolutely love this stuff. This stuff I've actually been using for years, and I used to use this when I had really really long hair. So this stuff comes out a little bit of a finer mist. Sorry, I've got a head and then the thickening spray. So I feel like two pumps on the side, one on the back kind of does the job but adjust accordingly, depending on the length of your hair, then I'm gon na give that product a brush through. So it's sorry guys fine looking over here, but that's where my mirror is just to evenly distribute some of the product so that it's not all clumped in one kind of area it just brushes it through the lens and then before I stop blow-drying. I usually just give it a quick who's. Gon na say a quick finger, a quick ruffle up with my fingers, just so that it's not flat cuz, I find when you brush your hair. It tends to stick to your head in your scalp a bit more right. Now my hairdryer of choice has not changed since my last video, it's still my neck and I'll babble is have got no idea. What the number of this is the model number, but it does the trick it drives my hair, I'm so not one of those people that would advise spending a fortune on a hair dryer like those Dyson ones. No, sorry, a basic one does just a good job. Wow, okay, so, as you can see, there was no real drying technique. There just make sure that it's all dry and then I end up looking like this all good to go out. Jokes, I can feel I hope you guys can see. My hair feels thicker. I hope it looks thicker and with the activation from the heat from the hair dryer, it just helps it not sit so closely together, so it just adds a little bit more volume. Okay, now the question on everyone's lips is which wand slash iron. Am i using to create the waves on such a short hair and the answer is this one? So again it is another GHD one. I believe this is called the creative curve. It says GHD tri-zone technology, doesn't it sound magical and but it is a slightly tapered one, so it has a slightly thicker base, tapering up to something slightly thinner and then, if I turn it to its side profile, you can see it's not actually round. It'S almost like it's round but been squashed, so it's similar to the wave ones that I used to use on my slightly longer hair. But I find that because this one has a smaller. I suppose we can still call this a barrel even those around, because this one has a smaller barrel, it's easier for shorter hair, so I'm gon na turn this one on no, what I love about ghd's! Ah, it's that little noise. It takes only a few seconds to heat up. Okay. Now the wound is good to go. I'M gon na start by curling first side. So I always start with this side. Don'T really know why it's just natural thing and very much the same as my last hair tutorial video. I don't section it off. I don't use clips, I'm just not that bothered, so I'm going to get sections and I'm I'm gon na, like strategically measure them, but around about this kind of size and the first one I'm going to curl away from my face. So you place the wand behind and then curl like, so I wrap around a couple of times hold for about five seconds and then release, and the key to this is that because the wand tapers up towards the top slightly, it will create more of a tighter Curl towards the bottom of the hair, so don't hold it there for too long. Otherwise, you will get looking green glitz, so the key is just hold for about five seconds again, depending on how thick your hair is hope for about five seconds and then release - and this is what will create a really kind of soft wave. Now, the next section of hair - sorry guys again, I'm having to look in that mirror over there, I'm going to curl. Oh wait! No, that's the same thing for the next section of hair, I'm going to curl towards my face. So rather gingerly very carefully place. The wand here and wrap around oh hang on a minute wrap around towards your face, so this will create a slightly more natural curl kind of like a beachy look again home for a few seconds release and I sometimes pull the curl as well. Once it's just come off the wand and just pull it a little bit, so it doesn't sit, super high and springy and then just carry on curling away. Okay, so I've done the first half of my head, the first side, so you can see - maybe like this first one here in first couple that are a little bit older than the others they're starting to drop a little bit, which is exactly what we want to Happen because we don't want the curls to be so tight, we want them to fall out a little bit and just form very, very loose waves. So now I'm gon na start on the other side of my hair again the exact same process. So, just when you flip to the other side, you just have to remember that we're curling away from your face and then towards your basically now, maybe other way around, and I always find it's easier with one hand to go on one side rather than the other Side for me, the easier side is definitely that side right there we go. Both sides are now coach and that the only problem that I found with having hair this length is the back section, because with longer hair, you can kind of pull it to the front and you can easily do the strands which, towards the backwards shorter hair. This becomes quite an issue, so you kind of have to feel your way around. So I bought one of these and you guys can see yourself now and off Amazon. Only the link for this one in the description box below and it just helps from using a mirror on a mirror behind you. You can kind of feel around have a look and see which of the bits which you've missed and then go over those with the want. Now there are some really really short sections right: the back of my hair, just above the nape of my neck. These sections are about an inch long. I don't even bother curling, though so that's an entire section about this big at the back of my head, that I don't bother curling the curls over the top cover that section anyway, and you can't even wrap an inch worth of hair around to one. No to add a little bit more texture to this, along with the two bundle of mobile products that I used when my hair was down. I will go back to my trusty XXL volume spray from batiste and just give a couple of spritzes of this in the roof area of, and this just gives a little bit volume at the root. If you need it and a little bit of texture as well. So just massage plating, because it is still a dry shampoo spray as well. So you don't want any of that white residue, give it a little bit of a douche and there we go. You'Ve got an added bit of volume in that. But if you needed something to give, you super super boosted, hair, for example. If you have really fine hair, then try a plumping powder. They are amazing, forgiving volume at roots right. That is it for today's video. I hope you enjoyed it. I hope you found it useful. I will link everything, including the amazing ones, that I use to create this look down in the description box below. So thank you very much for watching, and I will see you guys next time. Bye,

Beauty In My Mind: Loved this video! Really straightforward and easy to follow. Also love the fact that you don’t overdo it with the products as I’ve seen some tutorials which seem to use a lot. I have fine hair and too much product just weighs it down if I put too much stuff in so I like your minimalist approach! Happy Sunday ☺️☺️☺️

HollyJ: Always enjoy watching your tutorials as much as your hauls! It was so helpful, thanks Emma!

Michelle Till: Thanks for this Emma , I have found it really helpful . I have recently had my hair cut to a shoulder length bob and have been struggling with what products to use to give it more texture. I can now try and give it a wave too ! Thank you

Emma Clark: Looks lovely...you make it look so easy! My hair is a similar length I always give up half way through! xx

Emma VDS: Finally, an easy going hair tutorial video that I can actually implement. I have exactly the same hair length and it looks like the same hair structure as well. I guess it is in the name :-) Ps. I've been following you for a while and I really like all your videos, your personality is so relatable and easy going :-) xx

Kate Malham-Wallis: I loved this! I made a video on styling my short choppy bob too but mine would never air dry nicely like yours does! Short hair is the way forwards

Andrea Woloschuk: Hi Emma, thank you for this video. I just had my hair chopped and it's about the same length as yours, this is very helpful.

A TGS: Love your hair this length (but also loved the last cut you had too!) I have hair similar in length to your last cut and I find it so tricky to curl/wave those back bits!! Might try some of the Bumble & Bumble products for texture. Thanks for the recommendations x

Ana Guerra: Emma thank you so much for this vídeo! The Bob used to be my signature style for many years. I still have friends asking me to get that again. But everytime I think about the tremendous work I had to style it...I loose the gut.. in my time there wasn't so many styling produts and tools... It was the 80's and 90's people!!! All we had was Shock waves foam from L'Oréal..and some other styling gels.... Now I have loads of hair products and tools...but I air dry my hair!! But it was cool to see how you style yours...thank you for sharing...xoxo from Portugal!!!

sheyxo: Love how you explain things so calmly...feel relaxed watching your videos

Enilorak Black: Great Tutorial :-) love the easy handling without using clips etc.... that's how I love it!!! Would love to air dry my hair too...but my crazy natural "curls" or lets better say "strange waves" look terrible at the next morning.... ;.)

Rachel Carter: Love the new hair! I think it suits you so well. I also don’t know what I would do without my Batiste dry shampoo it’s the best!

kuperleona: Great easy tutorial Emma I have finer hair just now so am always using texturising sprays and a wave wand to get as much volume as possible. Might give the root powder a try x

Segourney Savery: Love your short hair...... absolutely gorgeous....... tempted to cut mine ‍♀️

Adriana Bota: Your new hair suits you amazingly, i have the longest hair ever but i enjoyed this video very much, thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Lung Ionela: Hej there!!! I am a girl from Romania which lives in Denmark now. I have recently discovered you on youtube and I must say I really, really like your style (when I say style I mean the way to make your videos looking so originals and real). I am not a major fashion follower but once I watched your videos I started to be more carrefour when it comes about dressing myself it. Just wanted to express my support and thank you for making some of my days better with your videos. Good luck on the future!!! :)

Zoe Everatt: One thing I always struggle with when cutting my hair into a bob - I have thick hair so they always want to put layers in. I hate layers but equally don't like the razor sharp 'just been cut' look - what did you ask for to get the ends so lovely and textured without formal layers?

Irayda RH: I just got my hair cut :) That is what i needed! thank you <3

Helen Fudge: You have become part of my Sunday morning routine! Now off to dust my wand off!! X

Geraldine Terrell: Emma just love your new hair it looks gorgeous on you!!! I am going to try this in my hair as my hair looks seem To have the same type texture as yours!!! Thank you for sharing and I love your channel!❤️❤️❤️

dldl: Looks lovely, your hair texture is very similar to mine. I have that Schwarzkopf plumping powder but I hate the feel of it in my hair. It’s like sticky concrete! Lol I like to let my hair dry and I find that parting it in deep side parts throughout the drying process gives it volume when I settle on a Centre part when I’m ready to style. Oh and sleeping on a silk pillowcase with ever so slightly damp hair seems to lift my hair on my crown like no other product can!

Primrose Bigwood: AMAZING as always! x

Gladys Achi: You are a professional explaining this hair tutorial bravo Emma Hill

Veronica Lopez: I'm a hair stylist and I never suggest over priced dryers for home use.  Babyliss makes the best dryers for personal use, light weight, gentle on the hair and they last forever.  No one needs a dyson dryer.I test drove one at the salon and was not even tempted to spend the money.

Cyndi Hatami: Yessss been waiting for this video and so happy you did one you da bestest and this was extremely helpful

J. A: I love your new do, thank you for the tips. Your hair also looked amazing straight like on the day you had it chopped. Xxx

Rae H: Very helpful, thank you.

Birgit Kile: Really love your hair like this

nsreen muhammad: I chopped my hair last year .. it was really long -reaching my hips- but i chopped it to shoulders length and it was heaven! easier to wash, easier to style and easier to dye -cause I love dying my hair every now and then- .. but now am trying to get it longer .. at least mid-back length. but my styling routine is close to yours but I add some natural oils and I try not to use heat as much as possible. any change in color soon?

Sasha: I have long hair - all the way down to my bum - but I still loved this! Favorite YouTuber! x

Laurie Hominick: Very nice love it!

Saskia Servaas: Very chic! Also love the Batiste products.

Jaki Botham: Great look

Ilhem Bou: actually even i wear scarf but ur absolutely Giving me great great ideas love allllllll ur videos

Dothedodo 33: I'm so tempted to go for a short bob but my hair is so flat and fine that I am still not sure if I can pull it off - first I'm going to get that volume powder you recommend and see if it works for me ! I have tried dry shampoos before but I find those itchy as hell Wands are a weapon of mass destruction in my hands because I lack the patience to curl my hair properly and tend to burn the crap out of my scalp ..!

Ria Perry: Hi Emma great video, lots of great info for ppl with longer hair. see you nxt wk. Ria xx

Katherine Wei: Love your videos!!

Emma Manley: Your hair really is great like this. Do you alternate your curling or just first one backwards, all the other forwards? I was getting ready at the same time as watching so may have missed what you said - sorry! xx

Jennifer Moran: So pretty, makes me consider cutting my hair into a bob again. Would you say your hair is on the thicker side? Love ur channel.

sammi: Recently found you and been on a binge watch. Legit now my fav At times you are the double of zoella but I don't watch her not my kinda thing LOL x

April Lane: What does the bumble surf spray for? What does it do to hair? Does it make it feel like you have product in your hair or sticky? Sorry for all the questions haven’t used it before x

Jolijn Snijders: Hi darling love the hair u make me wanna go shorter again now :) do u have an alternative for battiste? i live in holland and cant get my hands on this product :( but am looking for something that gives the same effect?? Thanks so much xx
