Salon Staff Mocked An Old Lady For The Haircut She Wanted! But When She Returned, No One Laughed...

Olivia Johnson crossed the street and stopped in front of the beauty salon, which was rightfully considered the best in the city. It looked very expensive and luxuriant from the outside, catching the eye with its neon sign and beautifully decorated stained-glass windows. Deep down, the old woman felt the long-forgotten excitement of being at a place like that. Pausing for a moment, Mrs. Johnson summoned up her courage and pulled at the door handle.

Olivia johnson crossed the street and stopped in front of the beauty salon, which was rightfully considered the best in the city. It looked very expensive and luxuriant from the outside catching the eye, with its neon sign and beautifully decorated. Stained glass windows deep down the old woman felt the long forgotten excitement of being in a place like that pausing. For a moment, mrs johnson summoned up her courage and pulled at the door handle the interior was even more striking than the exterior and the old woman caught herself thinking that she did the right thing. By choosing this particular place, the walls were covered with artfully designed photo collages featuring all kinds of women's hairstyles, a row of leather armchairs and chrome-plated handles and spotless sparking mirrors, boggled the imagination with their grace and luxury. The extensive set of tools on the tables showed that the employees certainly knew their stuff good morning. Can i help you a woman named maggie. The salon's hairdresser asked mrs johnson seemed to be confused for a moment and then she said i would like to get a haircut and get my hair colored if possible. Of course, maggie gave the old woman, the professional, appraising, look and said. Yes, we do haircuts, which one would you like, but i should tell you right away that it won't be cheap, since our beauty salon is considered the best in the city. Mrs johnson got a bashed for a moment and then turning his red as a lobster. She pulled out a battered fashion magazine from her purse. Here. Take a look. I want this. One see, don't worry about the money. I will pay whatever you say: the old woman replied showing the hairstylist a page in her magazine, maggie, raise her eyebrows and hardly restraining a malicious, laugh replied. You know you really don't understand what you're asking for this haircut is for young people. It won't look good on you, you've, sparse hair and a thin face, and that grayness trust me. A few snips of the scissors will leave you completely bald and then what then i'll have to give you a free, wig or something? I think you should choose something simpler and cheaper, but this haircut is just what i want and i would also like to dye my gray hair mrs johnson answered timidly. Her eyes filled with tears slowly the rest of the salon employees joined in on the conversation eyeing. The modestly dressed old woman with interest grinning, maliciously and whispering to each other, but why do you even need such a haircut? Are you planning on sweeping your elderly husband off his feet? Someone made a crack about. Mrs johnson. I don't have a husband he's been gone for over 10 years now the old woman replied her voice trembling, mastering all her strength so as not to burst into tears. Well never mind you can pick up a younger one with this hairstyle maggie added in a mocking voice. Her words were followed by unanimous laughter of her co-workers, who were very amused by the situation with the poor old woman unable to put up with the ridicule. Mrs johnson left the salon hastily blotting her eyes with a handkerchief as she went, the old woman crossed the square and turned into a quiet street, where a more modest hairdressing salon was located. It turned out to be small, with only two armchairs and no sign of external luxury and gloss. However, when mrs johnson got inside a pretty girl came out to greet her her eyes, glowing with concern and cordiality when their hairdresser asked about what kind of haircut she would like. The old woman showed the same photo from the magazine deep down. Mrs johnson didn't believe she would be able to get the haircut here, especially after the cold shoulder she was given at the elite beauty salon. However, much to the old woman's surprise nancy, the hairdresser turned out to be a connoisseur in her field. The girl was happy to make olivia's dream come true, giving her the gorgeous hairstyle, which looked even better in reality than in the photo on top of that nancy dyed. The client's gray hair the color she wished for and as a bonus, even did her nails and thereby transforming mrs johnson into a real beauty. Thank you, you're, a real magician sweetie. You know this is the best present ever it's my birthday today. I'Ve turned 70.. The old woman said with delight wondering at her own reflection in the mirror during the time it took to do. Mrs johnson's haircut nancy chatted with her about many things pouring her heart out to the attentive client. As it turned out, the girl was an orphan who took hairdressing courses a few years back. Unfortunately, nancy lived alone with her son and struggled to make ends meet living in a rented apartment. In the course of their conversation, mrs johnson learned that the poor girl's husband left her five years ago and with a small child too nancy's husband john, was a freelance construction worker who traveled from state to state in search of profitable projects. All that time the girl lived under the same roof with his sick mother, who was bedridden for many years. One day, a few months after her husband went to the north of the country, nancy got a letter from him. The man wrote in a dry and frigid manner that he had found his love there and started a new family. This shocking news made the girl cry all night. She refused to believe that john had betrayed her, but time went by and her husband never returned. His old mother's health got worse every day, even more so after she learned the news of her son's betrayal. The old woman died within two months of learning. What jon had done, having buried the woman whom she treated like a mother, nancy, locked up the house and left the keys with the neighbors, although it was hard to leave her home, the girl couldn't bear to stay in the house. That was a constant reminder of her ex-husband's betrayal, having burnt all the bridges, nancy moved to another city where she got a job at a small hair salon. Of course they paid mere pennies here, but the girl was not discouraged and was full of hopes about the future. Saying goodbye to nancy. Mrs johnson hugged her and thanked her for being so kind and cordial. Although olivia's heart was restless after hearing the girl's touching life story, she somehow found the strength to leave relishing in the gentle sun. The old woman decided to walk to the supermarket, to treat herself to something delicious for her birthday. However, before she could even take a dozen steps, a cheerful girlish voice called out to her, mrs johnson, is that really you, i'm so glad to see you? You look amazing olivia turned around to see kate simmons a girl. She taught english at school standing opposite her. Thank you. It'S nice to see you too, you know it's my birthday today, i'm turning 70 years old. Would you like to come over for dinner i'll cook, something delicious mrs johnson suggested i would love to, but i have a better idea how about stopping by one place now and then celebrating your birthday at a restaurant? Don'T thank me. I owe you so much believe me, this is the least i can do for you, kate, said and took the old woman's arm eagerly. Much to mrs johnson's surprise, her former student first ordered dinner at the restaurant and then brought the old woman to that same elite. Beauty salon where she had been denied services not so long ago, as it turned out, kate simmons ended up becoming a businesswoman and she actually owned this place. Taking mrs johnson by the hand, the girl led her inside the salon where she proudly introduced her beloved teacher to the staff maggie, who was standing next to her, didn't immediately realize that it was the same old woman that stopped by this morning. It was because her appearance had noticeably changed since they last saw each other, but when mrs johnson met her gaze, maggie shyly lowered her eyes and put on a mask of cordial sympathy, kate, eager to hear what her former teacher was thinking about. Her salon was impatiently shifting from foot to foot sensing her emotional state, the old woman said you have the best salon in the city, but your staff is mean and inattentive. They all lack humanity and common decency. As mrs johnson was saying, this, she brushed aside a tear and headed to the exit. Kate, caught up with the teacher at the door and taking her into her office, was getting ready to listen to what the upset woman had to say when the old woman calmed down a little, she told her ex-student what had happened that morning. Kate listened to mrs johnson patiently and then her face changed and she left the office. The business lady gathered her subordinates in the hall and casting a menacing look at everyone said in an icy tone: you're all fired. This is the best salon in town and it offers the highest salary. I'M sorry, you didn't appreciate it. Let this be your lesson. Goodbye starting tomorrow, don't ever set foot in here again the frustrated employees dispersed around the salon getting used to the idea that they had become instantly unemployed. Meanwhile, kate phoned all of her classmates, inviting them to dinner. To celebrate mrs johnson's birthday, it's worth saying that the celebration was wonderful and the woman of the day hadn't felt so happy in a long time. The next morning, following mrs johnson's recommendation, kate offered nancy the position of a senior hairstylist at her salon. However, this wasn't the last good news for the unfortunate orphan on that memorable day. It was only that evening that nancy got to learn the major news, olivia johnson, invited nancy and her son to move in with her at first, the girl thought it was all nothing but an amazing dream where any of her wishes could come true, and she feared That, as soon as she opened her eyes, the magic would disappear dissolving in a haze of fog, but no matter how much she rubbed her eyes. The pleasant reality persisted on top of that mrs johnson, who had no close relatives, left, drew up a will. It decided that, after her death, all her savings and the house should come into nancy's ownership. However, the orphan girl who treats olivia johnson as her family prefers not to think about the possible inheritance. Instead, nancy prays to god every day for her patrons health and long life.

Avian Lezama: Stop calling her an old woman please. I am a hairdresser. I treat everybody who walk into the salon with kindness and love.

Sakhile Mathumo-Mhodi: I am 57 and I have been treated like that by my own kid and several other young people. It’s crazy how many young people take youth to be a license to rudeness

L S: I don’t understand where people get of treating older people this way so disgusting.Watching this video had me in tears

Christy Stormes: I, too, am a hair stylist and I can't imagine treating someone this way. I find it a privilege to make people beautiful, especially my senior clients. This story was an inspiration to me also.

Kathy ann Gellizeau: Love and respect for our elders... Kindness goes a long way

Weam Algassim: My mom is 70 and I don't think she's old. She looks stylish, and take good care of herself.

Patricia Horelick: Many years ago I owned a simple salon where all our clients were treated with caring and respect. Many became friends and we ended up attracting some of the most amazing residents in our area. After I moved to another state with my new Husband many still sent letters and Christmas cards over the years. Those were some of my happiest years in business! Decades later I still remember many of those people with fondness. Just be kind…it goes a very long way!

Nikki Kearns: The most hurtful, hateful, nasty, brutal, breaking a person comment I ever received in my life was from a young ‘lady’ who refused to let me into the hair salon implying I was too poor and too ugly and the nastiness I experienced from her lingers in my heart. A hair salon used to be a place I went to when the world was cruel and I needed to walk in sad and walk out flaunting my beauty but this vicious girl has finally earned my wrath. I take pride in myself no matter who I am or where I go. No more!

Vikingirl78: How many times can one person say “old”, just as disrespectful as the salon workers.

Yvonne Renoult: It’s so disrespectful to keep calling her “the old woman.”

Susan Feldstein: I couldn’t stop crying in the beginning. I’m in my 60’s and had the same stylist for decades. When the pandemic hit and closed everything down in NY, I looked and felt horrible. Once things began to reopen, I went to the salon (a very small one), only to find it closed for good. I found another salon not far from my home, called for an appointment and was told to come right in. Just like Mrs. Johnson, the sneers, whispers and stares directed at me made me want to crawl into a hole. I thanked them for their time and left. I still haven’t found a young lady who can measure up to the one who I was used to. Maybe, I’ll get lucky like Mrs. Johnson one day. This story is karma at it’s finest. Treat EVERYONE the way you like to be treated. Kindness doesn’t hurt

MadamMorgan: Nothing upsets me more then people treating people like dirt especially when it comes to the elderly. Thank you for sharing this story. It warms the heart to know the story has a happy ending.

Debbie Markley: My hero is my 101 year old neighbor, who is sharp and keeps moving and smiling and is thankful to God and loving. She still lives in her own apartment. Sure, her granddaughter and a couple of friends check in on her to give her a hand, but she keeps on keeping on and is a light in this dark world! I am now 66 and in better physical and mental health thanks to God's help and that of my family getting me away from a horrible second marriage. The peace and joy of the Lord is my strength and I feel as vibrant now as when I was a youngster!

Hawaiian Born: The treatment given to this woman at the first salon was unforgivable! Good on the owner for firing those disrespectful shots. I was raised to always respect my elders, as they are my past. If you don't know where you come from, how do you know where you're going?

Fiona Lewis: What a beautiful story! I love stories with a happy ending. I'm thrilled that Mrs. Johnson fired everyone in that salon. And how lovely that she saw fit to invite the young hairdresser and her son to live with her.

Willowy13: This old lady leaving her house for a haircut ended up changing many lives. Be gentle to everyone. You never know how your life can change due to people around you.

Mary AMC-Mama: As a car saleswoman, I treat all of customers with a beautiful smile & the same respect and pitch. It doesn’t matter what they’re wearing, whether they speak English or not, old or young, or what their financial situation is. Every person deserves the same amazing treatment. By doing so, I was named the top salesperson for months on end until coronavirus hit when I got laid off… I love this story.

Stormy Weather: It's an honor to be old. Take the negative from old. Once a baby, toddler, preteen, teen, young person, older person, old person. The stages of life should be worn as a badge of honor. Not everyone get to earn each badge.

Donna Patterson: The power of kindness is love for others.

Martine Dunphy: Beautiful story with a happy ending! I cried for the little old woman and laughed when the salon girls got fired. It is true that you reap what you sow, just like those girls learned.

Toula K: I'll be 61 soon. I can't imagine being called an old woman in 9 years time!!!

Denise McClure: This shows there's still good people in this world

Patrick Richmond: That 70 year old woman taught the idiots at the hair salon a lesson. Eventhough the salon employees has lost their careers, but it serves them right for the way they treated her.

Love, Lana: I highly doubt several hairstylists in same salon would behave like that! Hairstylists are most often kind people who live to make clients feel great about themselves. Great story either way!

Wesley Ferguson: Such a wonderful and caring thoughtful woman. The world needs more people like the young woman. Thank you for your wonderful video .

Elaine Poos: That was an absolute wonderful story. Made me feel so good it turned out the way it did. I am 74 an it would kill me to have to go threw what the 70 year old did. Those girls should be ashamed of themselves! Hope you live a long an healthy life. So glad the young girl moved in with you. God bless you both. From Wisconsin.

v h: What a beautiful story. I work with seniors and I love them.

DLJ: It just goes to show that we must treat everyone with dignity and respect. The elderly lady was treated very rudely. And it came back to bite very quickly.

Lauri Jo Emerick: This story really upset me at first and then I loved the lesson she taught those despicable women... hopefully they learned something....the ending made me cry ❤

Karen Jarrett: What a touching story. I’m so pleased it turned out so well for them. Many times life is not so kind. This was truly heart warming.

Charlotte: Love this story! When I was 55, the office manager asked my age. He said you look and act like you’re 20. I said you’re only as old as you feel. I’m 86 now, (going on 20) and still want to know what is “old”. I don’t have the aches and pains that some people do at my age. I’ve had friends who have them who are younger. I don’t know how ‘old’ feels yet. I feel even younger now that I’ve met my true love, and, not realizing, had been in love with him during the 40 years he “chased” me. We were in contact by mail all that time. He never gave up, thank goodness. Two years ago, I finally realized why he was always in my thoughts. Oh, I’m four years older than he, but that’s not a problem! We are a perfect match in our weirdness. No joke, and we know it. I now have a new life and feel better than I ever have. I keep looking for the definition of ‘old’. How am I supposed to feel at 86? That young lady stood her ground. Good for her! Your heart will guide you. Listen to it!

Reel Desserts: Sad that the elderly, of which I am one, are either laughed at or invisible. It seems like no one has anything to learn from people over 50.

MrsKehino: Aging is something that many will never experience. I'm happy to be 50 and older. Women, some, have such a problem with becoming old.

Cheryl Crozier: What a lovely story and didn’t one act of kindness go a very long way! Beautiful!

Patricia Owens: That is really good for the soul to hear such a good story.. It helps you believe in humanity again... Really good people out there in this crazy, crazy insane world.

D S: I’ve had experiences where a few stylist relish on making Older people look even Older! Why can’t stylist realize whether one is 21, 41, 51, 71, or 81, 91 or 101 realize that the older one’s lives aren’t over and would really love a cute, sexy, modern, flattering cut and color just as the 21 year old does, there’s No difference.

Carol T.: Please STOP tagging this woman as "the old lady"! It is so demeaning. I am incredibly active 72 year old and can run circles around others much younger.

Nabbosa Beldine: Beautiful story with lots of good lessons we should avoid looking down upon strangers,we should have customer care towards all clients regardless of their looks ...the young lady received blessings for her kindness towards the retired teacher

E M: This story was very touching and heartbreaking. The ending was remarkable and I shed a tear for this story.

LeAnn's Fear Cocktail: Watching this made me tear up. What a beautiful story and happy ending.

Caroline Laferla: That girl deserved it for her kindness at least her and her son will be safe and happy for the rest of the lives and people should treat elderly people with more respect

Maria Schwartz: Constantly calling her the old woman? How disrespectful

Wanda Andrew: What a lovely story..begins with pain but ends with the most heartfelt love

Angela Hagood: I turned sixty this year. When my grandmother passed away at sixty-four, I thought she was old. I was only nineteen. Now I can’t believe how people view someone as old. I can’t believe I’m as old as I am. Those of you who are hairstylists, etc., thank you for the respect you show mature clients! Just because I don’t want my makeup to look like one of the Kardashians, or my hair to be the latest bob with a beach wave bend, doesn’t mean I don’t want to look like the best me I can be. I couldn’t watch the whole video because of the over use of the words “old lady”.

Tina Manuel: Watching this made tears come from eyes. It’s beautiful that there are people of the same heart still exists. What some need to think about one day you’ll be that age and wouldn’t want to be treated like that, so you don’t treat others like that. May God Continue to bless each of them.

Letty Stevens: What a beautiful story. True beauty is within, yet the world judges from without.

Elaine Moreland: Best story, ever. Had me in tears.

Dorothy Holt: Adorable child.Great job Mom, and barber. So cute before and after the cut. I'd say one reason for his calm behavior is that he trusts the adults in his life.

j1947m: Sounds like a Hallmark story... and calling someone her age an "old lady" in this day and age is NOT OK!

Lesbia Blanco: Beautiful lesson about kindness and respect!

M C: Honestly, I am surprised by the ageism, calling a 70 year-old person as “elderly!” For goodness sake!

Jackie Juse: I’m 84 and I’m proud to call myself old, and proud to be called old when reach 70 when I got old, it’s not a sin to be old, not many people reach the age to be called old…of course they don’t believe me when I tell them how old I am.

Marie Wilson: Great story and feels good to hear about good people doing good things for each other.

Delores Spraggs: This was the most heartwarming video I have seen in a long time. Genuine kindness is free. So smile at a stranger, you could make their day. God Bless

Rae Abrahams: I was just wondering why he kept on calling her an old woman. She was only 70.

Di Karran: I’ve just turned 70 and don’t consider myself an old women

Sharon La Tour: This made me cry. God Bless Mrs. Johnson and the salon owner!!

CHERYL HAM: Feeling incredibly BLESSED...I've passed this story too many times to count. I saved it every time I saw it, probably 20+ times. Did same thing, saved it...an achy feeling came over me...pleasantly hit play...my heart began feeling an abundance of warm-calmness, laced with tender raw emotions. Brought me some very fond emories of my wonderful daughter & amazing little French Mother.....Yeah, overly mushy & corny...With all this said...I now know why....God put this story in my hands & heart.... on this very moment & day❤ Proving once again...Things HAPPEN FOR A REASON...& PRECISELY AT THE GIVEN MOMENTS THEY HAPPEN...

Pam Hawkins: It is a privilege to live a long life. My Mom was 94 when she passed and I never considered her old.

Mykey Barbee: This made me cry happy tears, "it's good, when good people do good things for good people, thank you for being kind, my mom is in her early 70's, a retired Vietnam Vet, and retired nurse of 30 plus years, I would loose all control on somebody being cruel to my mom, not negotiable".

Kathy Davenport: You go girl get what you like anybody says differently they don’t walk in your shoes just go ahead and get what you want

Feroza Amhed: Old is gold. Awesome story.

Peter M: Glad this woman found a lovely caring hairdresser.

Snow Bird: That girl is a saint and Mrs. Johnson should never be treated the way she was. That was a very touching story

MaryJ: I'm gonna be another year older soon and proud of it! God loves all of us no matter how old we get. :)

Mimi Radjab: Only 70? and you call her the old woman, I’m 74 years young, and do not feel as old as the way you talked about the lady

Donna lizardladyfla: I've been in the business for many years and never have I ever treated a potential client that way. This seems staged,it not then they should lose their license asap and fined.

Lord Goomy: Young people can be so cruel with no appreciation or respect for their elders

Amy pap: I'm a stylist.i do my job to make people feel good about themselves. I would've not even questioned her about anything

Seriah Brown: I'm not crying, you're crying This one definitely tugged on the heart strings.

Queen Cece: You can never be too old to get your hair done how you want it

Sandra Wilson: Beautiful story. It pays to be kind in more ways then one.

Joanna Thomas: That was a very touching video ,The kindness that was shown to that lady yielded a beautiful friendship...you never know when you just might be entertaining an angel

I Dreaver: You call her old at 70???? People are living well over a hundred these days.

MARIA DEFRAGA: What a beautiful story it made me cry I'm 67 years old and i know how this lady felt God bless her

bgoldenwings: Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt story. It’s a wonderful thing to see there are still beautiful people in this world. May the Good Lord be with those who still care for the human race. Blessings!

Intro to Music: Why is it necessary to keep using the term "the old woman" or "the old lady" when we know what her name is? Everyone deserves to be recognized for something other than their outward appearance, whether it is related to age, sex, race, ethnicity, religion, physical or mental challenge, sexual ID, family status, weight, clothing, apparent financial situation, or any other descriptor.

60Sage - Meditate, Pray, Manifest: I remember being in my 50s and standing outside a salon looking in and studying some of the hairstyles featured in frames around the salon. I had long, straight, waist-long hair somewhat damaged from coloring. When I decided to go in, I was called to a chair. As the young girl hung a bib around my neck to begin, she said, " When you were outside I was just telling my girlfriend 'Oh my God, I hope she comes in for a haircut!' - you really need it!" That has hurt my feelings every time I think about it for nearly 2 decades now.

Gail Dias: This story whether true or not makes you think, and you should "Never judge a book by it's cover".

Sandra Perrigio: I'm 80 still work and dress well , people at my job tell me I work rings around the young people which I do,I'm very active, dislike when they call us old

Ahmad Malik: Being kind always.. has positive consequences..

Dog Mom: God bless our elderly! Books of wisdom

Giselle Holiday: How many times has the "Reader" said OLD WOMAN or POOR OLD WOMAN? Wow. He has to be under 30. Poor thing.!!

Teresa Kiner: Now that is a beautiful story! ❤️

Tamara Koorengevel: I remember in my hairdressing days we had a elderly client who came in weekly to have her hair done. She always dressed well with her nails done makeup done she was lovely. Then one day one of the clients who was much younger noticed this elderly lady getting the works done and made an awful comment why does she bother. Shock horror. We turned around to her and said very politely your never to old to pamper yourself. The client who made that awful comment I would love to be a fly on the wall now and see what she looks like today. My guess ugly.

Elizabeth Hilliard: Never let anyone tell you to wear old people clothes or hair. I wear what I want and the bottom line for me is comfort. Now elastic pants or Velcro shoes for me and I go to the gym twice a week.

who ya kidding: My father is 92, my mother is 84, I consider neither to be old.

Florence Pierce: Some people treat others horrendously. I wonder how THEY would feel watching Someone Else treating THEIR Relatives like GARBAGE?!? Although considering how they behave, maybe they wouldn't care about that, either! Great outcomes all round!

Deborah Doggett: Thank God that Nancy treated Mrs Johnson like a human being... Everyone in this story got what they deserved...

Jaque: This is a blessed testimony ! There are still Angels on earth !

Mel Luques: Now I’m glad my children call me beautiful lady all the time and my hair dresser who is very young does the same. I don’t feel like it but is nice to hear nice thing from time to time.

Rita Dunn: I’m nearly Seventy, I am NOT an OLD WOMAN and would be very hurt and disappointed if someone called me an old woman. That is just as bad as what the hairdressers were saying about and to her.

Camilla Wolfe: The Beauty of kindness ❤

YochevedMiriam Russo: Lovely story! Don’t know whether it’s true or not, but I’d like to believe it is. Thanks for the day brightener!

Vicky B: Though this is most likely a made up story it does illustrate a wonderful point. No matter what age someone is, if they are a good person they should be treated with respect and kindness.

Jan'sUnfgts: I have experienced being shunned because of my age. I'm 71 now, and at age 60 became responsible for 2 granddaughters. When I attended school meetings, activities, etc. I received strange looks. I soon learned not to participate as a parent because I was just an old grandmother. It really hurt when the girls were embarrassed because I was old. Their parents wouldn't be parents, so I took on the role.

Glenn Goins: That's good! Need to see more people learning the error of their ways!!

Pink France: Kindness will take you where unkindness can only dream about

Marie Haverty: Lost count of how many old he mention old, what does old mean anyway. Life is all about having a healthy attitude

Monika Wilbanks: We have to learn that the 70 year olds are now the 50 years old.
