If you're going to create multiple fish tails, you can do a set all at once. I'M going to show you how to kind of gauge how one turns out so that you can lay out your entire set. So the first thing that we're going to do is we're going to determine the length that we want it. So I'm going to want them to be. You know about this much shorter, so I'm going to take all of this and if I was doing multiples I would be doing this and for my entire set. So the next thing, once we've gotten rid of our length, is we're going to determine our thickness. So I'm going to twist - and I know that that's going to be way too fat for a single, so I'm going to take fiber away and that size feels much better, so that is the size I'm going to go with now again. At this point, you can section out the rest of your set so now that we have our length and we have the right amount with fiber. The next thing I'm going to do is I'm going to shuffle it. I don't want the ends to be blocky, so I'm going to shuffle this fiber. If you are working in a batch again, you're probably going to want to do this step before you separate into individuals, because then you can shuffle the entire bundle at once. I'M just taking this separating the two and when I bring them back together, I'm just offsetting them slightly separate, bring your thumbs back together, but then offset them so separate. Bring them back together, put one on top of the other, but then offset it before you place. Your bundle and what that's going to do is it's going to very slightly taper. Your ends you're just going to continue to do that back and forth until you have a nice taper to your end, then stop for a second see how we're looking and the ends are no longer blocking. So with that, the next step would be to twist your top and then you're going to create your loop. That'S what I'm going to use for my SP and now I'm going to secure it to my workstation. Ok with our top loop secured, I'm going to trim away kind of our ratty ends and I'm going to take a tiny piece of fiber away from the side and I'm just going to loop this around the top and then I'm going to drop. That back. In that's just a bit of extra help to keep our se single loop at the top so to create our braid. We'Re going to start by taking a small amount of fiber away from one side and just pressing it in to the center and we're just going to repeat this on each side. So a tiny amount of fiber press to Center we're going to pull kind of from the bottom of the bundle around to the top press to Center and we're just going to work our way down by using that same motion, the smaller. The strands that you pull away, the finer the fishtail will be you're just going to work that fiber from side to side. Every now and again, you will want to stop and straighten out your fiber to make sure your ends. Don'T get tangled. You don't have to worry about your fish tails being perfect, the more imperfect they are, the more organic they look. So at this point I've got my fishtail braids largely in place, and it's just the last little ends that are left. So what I'm going to do is finish this in a typical dread fashion, since this is an Essie and it's going to go into one of my sets, so I'm going to back on the end so that it doesn't unravel if you were not going to dread. These you could also put these into a rubber band or just finish it off in some other way, but I'm going to go ahead and backcomb this and finish it off like a dread. And then I will show this you in my set.
