Hi guys, I am back again with another braid for my braiding tutorial series. This is going to be a how to Dutch braid or, if you guys, have seen concret I've seen where these braids recently they're, also known as box braids. But the most common term of this is a Dutch braid. So it's a little bit different than the French braid, which makes this one pop and stick out. These are pretty popular right now. A lot of people like to pull them make them fat and beautiful, but I have decided to go for a Kim Kardashian. Look for my how to Dutch braid tutorial today, because I feel like a little bit of a bad girl with my hearing. So without further ado, if you want to know how to Dutch braid your own hair, it's about time, you learn so let's learn and dive in alright. So to start the Dutch braid, I'm going to start in the very front at a heart line. You guys could see I'm going to be copying this braid over here. It is a very traditional way to do a Dutch braid piggy tails, or just so I mean everyone knows this braid, so I figured it would be a perfect one to show you guys. So what I'm going to do is start the very front I'm going to grab a small little triangle section out of the front and then break that up into three strands, then, from there we're going to do a Dutch braid. Now this one is different. Instead of going and taking your strands over the middle strand, you're going to be taking your outer strands under the middle strand, so let me show you we're going to do a regular three strand braid, but we're going to go under our middle strand. So taking the back strand so the furthest, one towards the back, I'm going to take this strand and place it under the middle strand, so here's the middle strand we're going to place it under the middle strand. Let me do the same thing again and just rotate. My sides and work on the front strand or the bottom strand and place that under the middle strand, now we're going to start adding hair. So since we've just done this front strand we're going to go back again to the top or underneath strand and we're going to add a hair. So, just like our French braid you're going to be adding hair, we're going to pick up a slice right to your section and you're going to combine that all together. For now your back strand so combine that together, and that is now your back strand. So what you're going to do is you're going to place this under your middle strand and then going towards the front you're going to grab some hair and combine that with that strand and now you're going to take this now combined strand under your middle strands, you're Going to go under the middle strand, so now you're going to combine again so adding hair to the top part of your strand. We'Re going to take this now under your middle strand and then adding hair there. You go you're going to take that now, combined piece under your middle strand, add hair again and tuck that under your middle strand, then you're just going to continue this and put it into the type of Dutch braid that you want. So today, I'm actually doing um like what you would call box braids or, like French piggy tail braids kind of a Kardashian ish. So I'm just going to finish this just like this. alycia faulkner: my tips: -keep on practicing -braid with damp hair and use leave in conditioner (it makes the braid look more in place & its easier to braid) -if you are struggling with having the same starting point on both sides, take your finger and draw a line from the end of your eyebrow to your scalp and start the braid there -don't look at yourself while braiding -make sure to get all nots out before braiding -tie off with a strong rubber band and not a hair tie
