Faux Nicki Minaj Inspired High Ponytail Tutorial Using 100% Kanekalon Braiding Hair

Hey there!

Here is a fun summer protective style that you can do for less than $10! It is a unique way to switch up your look and protect your hair at the same time! I'm pretty sure you've seen Nicki Minaj rocking a high ponytail down to her booty at one point or another, so this is a tutorial about how you can get the same look! I added a bit more flair to the simple high ponytail by doing a little something different in the front. I love the way it turned out and this is definitely a style you can wrap up at night and rock for a few days. I hope you enjoy the tutorial! If you enjoy it, don't forget to give me a thumbs up, comment, and subscribe to my channel if you're not already! Can't wait to see y'all in the next one! Muah!

I STARTED OFF WITH FRESHLY COWASHED HAIR THAT I ALSO DEEP CONDITIONED AND DID THE LOC METHOD ON AFTER.

I USED 4 PACKS OF MAGIC COLLECTION 100% KANEKALON HAIR, 2 PACKS IN THE COLOR PURPLE, AND 2 PACKS IN COLOR 2 (OFF BLACK). I GOT THIS HAIR FOR ABOUT $2.20 PER PACK AT MY LOCAL BEAUTY SUPPLY.

I can never ever find the right words and there's no way. This is real life, there's no telling you're the right girl, so I can only say that it feels what up babies that you grow. Naturally, not in here I'm going to show you real quickly how I got this very cute, very simple, very cheap hairstyle, which is a faux ponytail inspired by my girl, Nicki Minaj, using 100 % cane, Catalan or Kanekalon. However, you say it hair, so I'm going to start out on freshly cur washed hair, and I also deconditioned it using my new favorite deep conditioner that I basically use like once a week now, which is all see a 3 minute miracle moist. If you have not tried this new conditioner, you definitely need to. It has become part of my like weekly regimen, instead of just get conditioning my hair once a month, I've started to do it once a week, because I noticed that my hair needs it because of this color in it. So, as you can see, I parted my hair in kind of like a diamond shape at the top and I'm just going to make a little baby ponytail at the top of my head, because I'm not just doing the high pony I'm doing like a little cute. Ponytail before the high ponytail you'll see what I mean when we get done, but it just adds a little bit of different style to this hairstyle and it just makes it a little bit more cute and it turned out really nice. So just keep watching and you'll see where I'm going with this. So I'm just going to smooth out my edges even more. My baby hairs fix those up because with this hairstyle you definitely got to have those baby's hair, baby hairs laid. So now I'm just going to take a little bit of hair out of that baby ponytail and I'm going to wrap it around. The hair tie basically just to conceal it, because you don't want that showing and after I get done racking that around I'm just going to secure it with a couple bobby pins. So my hair has completely air dried. I let it dry overnight. This is the next day, so now we're going to install the faux paux detail, so I'm going to take four pegs of this 100 % Kanekalon kink, allen, hair, two packs of purple and two packs of the color to like an off black color. I'M going to show you how I connect the ponytails together, so I took the hair out of the pack without removing the rubber band. Do not remove the rubber band because it can cause the hair to become tangled very easily and it if you leave the rubber band on it, shows you exactly where the middle of the hair is. So I basically intertwine those two rubber bands and pulled half of the hair through and once you do that both of the packs of hair will be connected. I already did the other two packs. So now I'm going to show you how I connect all four packs. So I take the rubber bands put one through the other, and then I take half of those basically two packs of hair and pull it through the other rubber band. And once you do that, you will see that all four packs are connected and it just makes for a very simple tangle, free ponytail, that's easy to install and uninstall. So now that I have all four of the packs of hair connected I'm just going to twist. My hair down and then once I get done twisting it all the way down, I'm just going to wrap that twist into a bun. You want to make the bun as small as possible as tight as possible, because if the bun is too large, you will be able to see it under all the Kanekalon hair. It will be hard to conceal so once I get done wrapping that into a bun, I'm just going to secure it with a hair tie and using my olive oil eco styler gel I'm just going to dill up my edges, because I have quite a few flyaways From letting my hair now that I have fixed up my edges a bit, I'm just going to take a regular hair tie and take the four packs of hair that I've connected and where all those rubber bands are, I'm just going to put the hair tie right. There basically wrap it around one side of the hair just to make that hair. So I hang right in the middle of the Kanekalon hair. Once I have that hair tight in the middle, I'm just going to twist it a couple times, two or three times just to make it tight and then once I do that, I'm going to wrap that hair tie around my bun and then I'm just going to Flip it back and there you go. I have a fake faux Kanekalon hair pony tail, but we're not done yet so we're just going to secure the Kanekalon hair, secure the ponytail to my real bun, basically by taking some bobby pins and pinning those around the perimeter of the of the bud. Basically, around the perimeter around the face just to make sure that it doesn't shift from side to side it doesn't when you're, when you're slinging your hair, it doesn't like shift, go off-center. So now I'm just going to take a little bit of the hair, not a lot and I'm just going to wrap that around the base of the ponytail, also just to conceal any type of any of the of the rubber bands. Any of the hair ties and just to add just a little bit of flair to the style, just wrap that around and secure it with a few bobby pins and it'll just add even extra to the hairstyle and then I'm going to take some hair shears. It'S the last step. I got these also at the beauty supply. They were about two dollars and 49 cents. I'M just going to run that through the end of the ponytail at the bottom of it, it will just make it look a little bit more realistic. This can't look that realistic, but it just makes it look a little. My natural say that it feels right right, s'alright, s'alright, s'alright, I'm just going with the guy, never had a doubt right like this is just the one for me in perspective, on the deepest in the card, everybody tune in what this is well. This is the finished. Look guys, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial about how to get this bow high, ponytail Nicki Minaj inspired hair using 100 % kanekalon braiding hair. It is such a fun and simple and cheap style that you can do for summer just to switch up your look. It'S also a great protective style, so I hope that it was informative.
