No More Itchy Box Braids!

Personal YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/itsmeniamarie

This is a toutorial to show you how to remove the alkaline coating that is on all synthetic hair sold in beauty supply stores today. This coating has been the cause of ungodly itching in the heads of many people after they insall braid extentions or weaves when the base is braided with synthetic hair. I feel it is best anyone looking to install synthetic hair weather your going to a stylist or doing it yourself do this first!

I'm also explaining how i achieved the beautifully blended color in my braids.

Shampoo: garnier fructis pure clean

Conditioner: silicon mix bambu

Leave-in on braids Silicon mix bambu leave-in

Leave-in spray recipe:

Aloe vera juice

glycerin

any oil your hair loves (I used avocado)

Essential oils optional

Its best to use a pump bottle that sprays in a mist because a little goes a long way and a regular spray bottle will waste the mixture.

Forgot to mention...

*I used a satin braid bonnet by qfitt collection to sleep in. My braids were way too full and extremely long and they still fit in the bonnet. I would recommend anyone with braids or a lot of hair to purchase this. theres no elastic to damage your hairline.

*I blended my hair by splitting each pack in half to achieve the length I desired.

I basically had 12 bundles of hair befor blending 8 bundles of 1b/33 & 4 bundles of 1b/27.

I then created sets with 2 1b/33 & 1 1b/27 and blended those 3 into 1 big bundle where i proceeded to lay out in the grid.

What you will need both waiting here - water, two large pots, vinegar, Shampoo and Conditioner - fill both pots halfway with water and bring to a boil turn the fire are from underneath both pots. I put half of the bottle of vinegar in each pot. I'M not sure if you really need so much, but whatever submerge all hair. In both pots, a white film will come to the surface. Allow the hair to sit for a minimum of 10 minutes, remove hair from pot and wash each bundle with any inexpensive shampoo. Do not rub hair vigorously, it may cause tangles rinse the shampoo thoroughly place about a heaping tablespoon of a silicon-based conditioner in a spray bottle full of water shake to mix spray hair. Then rinse there's no need to let the hair sit since the hair isn't porous. Is just to coat the hair with the silicone, the condition I'm using is from silicone mixes bamboo line. I feel it's the best conditioner to use for any remy hair or a hair that you know they sold you that already came with a silicone coating on it. I really like the smell of it: its a mix between cologne and perfume. Some people may not like it, because it is a bit strong after the hair was fully rinsed. I hung it out to dry on my laundry rack and put up in underneath it to catch all of the water once dried follow up with a silicone-based, leave-in, conditioner or serum. This process is not totally necessary, but I am extremely particular about how colors are blended in all hair styles. I, where I feel it, makes our breaks how professional every style looks to blend all you do is pinch a piece of both colors out of the bundle and put it back in your hand, continue to do this until both colors are incorporated to your liking. Do a half of each pack separately then incorporate into each other after blended use a wide tooth comb if necessary. While doing this, you will lose a little bit of hair, but nothing significant. The prep work is almost done you guys now. All you have to do is do the pulling method to make sure that ends of the hair aren't even this also aids in helping the hair to look more professional. To do this, you hold the hair in the middle and pull strand by strand until there are no more blunt pieces, this lengthens a hair as well as giving it a more professional finish in the area where you're going to be rating, find an empty space to Lay out your hair and pinch the amount of hair that you're going to use for each braid and start laying it out in a grid you're, going to lay your first row horizontally or vertically and then do the next row on top of that. The opposite way. So you can lay five across horizontally, then five across vertically, and continue to do that until your bundle is done once that's done, you're all ready to start braiding, your hair, I'm so sorry, I didn't get a chance to record myself braiding my hair, but I promise The next time I do it, I will come and show you guys. I have a really moisturizing leave-in spray that will help you to maintain the health of your hair, while in the braids and on regular days too, you will need a misting pump bottle, not a spray bottle: aloe vera juice, glycerin and whatever oil, your hair, loves, fill A half of the bottle, with aloe vera juice, about 1/4 of the bottle, with glycerin and top off with oil. I used avocado oil. This spray is everything you need in one bottle: a moisturizer, a humectant and a nourishing oil to seal. You can also add essential oils for more benefits or smell. I really hope this tutorial helps you guys. I couldn't stand getting any kind of braided extensions because of the itching and now there's a solution that actually really works. I kept my braids in for about 2 months, which is an all-time record for me and there wasn't any ungodly itching like I've had in the past. If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a comment or go to my site. Nia Marie taught me to email me hope you guys have fun braiding and have a blessed day.
