What you mean you don't know panda she's dope, what you mean, what you mean, what you mean, what you mean, what is popping youtube welcome back to my channel, it's your girl, dub ass, panda and today, i'm super excited to do these crisscross knotless box braids. This video was requested by one's wife toy on my community tab. So if you guys have a video request - and you guys want to shout out make sure you guys head on over to my community tab and make a request - and i will create content that you guys want to see so i'm super excited to recreate this. Look. It'S literally been popping on instagram, everywhere um and i found the perfect model for it, so i'm super excited to do that before we get into this video. I do want to do my member shout out and it's going to go out to tanisha bernard girl. I see you she commented on one of my most recent lives, so i just wanted to share some love to you. Thank you so much for joining my membership. So basically this hairstyle is knotless box braids in the back and in the front is gon na. Have a cute crisscross rubber band design? I have literally seen mixed emotions about this style on instagram, because a lot of people are like well, what's the point with the rubber band design in the front and and your box braids in the back are going to last a little bit longer and people have Also been talking about the damage that rubber bands can cause on your hair, so today we're going to talk about a little bit of all of that and some options that you guys can have with this hairstyle. I'M also going to talk about um how you can protect your hair when using rubber bands, i'm going to show you guys a trick that i use. I think that there is a misconception that any time you use rubber bands you're automatically going to get breakage and that's just not true. Honestly. I have used rubber bands on my clients, hair for ages and have never seen them experience any type of breakage. It'S all in how you apply them and how you take them off, which is going to determine the health of your hair afterwards. So first, let's talk about the versatility of this style, because i totally understand the argument that the front would get older quicker than. Obviously your knotless box braids in the back, but we can also always schedule a touch-up where we can replace the front with knotless box braids. You can always redo the similar style that you have in the front, or you can change it to tribal braids, there's just so much that you can do with the touch up. So i feel like as a stylist. This is actually perfect because they can come in and rebook with you and get something else in the front just to keep the longevity of the braids in the back and still have it be a protective style. So for this client i did a medium size which is seven rows of knotless box braids in the back and in the front i'm going to be doing a rubber band design and i'm adding a pop of color. So we chose to do purple. So i am going to be using purple rubber bands in one of my crisscross designs on each side, so i'm going to start off by point parting, the top of her hair in half and then parting, each half into three different sections. For my first section, i'm going to start by doing one crossover and then we're going to work our way up to do more as we reach the top. So basically, i'm going to take this first section part it into two, and this is going to be a total of four squares. The reason why we're starting with two in this first section and working our way up is just to make sure that we are not putting a little tiny amount of hair into the rubber bands. That'S going to be the first way that you're going to prevent that breakage. So i'm going to go ahead and tie my rubber band onto this first section and you're always going to start with that first section, because it's going to cross over into the sections behind it. So it's really important that you do that for applying your rubber bands. A cool tip is to put oil on them. It will help to prevent some of that breakage. So i'm going to start by rubber banding each quadrant on each side and i'm just going to make sure that i'm slicking that hair in you can visibly see. When you put on a rubber band too tight and for smaller sections, you will have to wrap the rubber band multiple times. Just because you see me doing that doesn't mean that the section is too tight. Like i said you will visually be able to see, pulling or lumping, and if you do like, i did there you're just going to take your finger and loosen that rubber band. Now, when you are connecting the rubber band, this is my really important tip. I'M going to take my pinky finger and i'm going to put it at the base of that front section, so you can see i'm putting my pinky finger there and then i'm going to rubber band that section, while keeping my pinky on this is going to make Sure that that hair is laying flat, but it's not pulling if you just pull that section and put it over the the section behind it and try to rubber band it you're going to see that it pulls a lot more. So you want to really anchor that rubber band down, so it stays in place and it doesn't pull into the section behind it. I'M going to show you guys that again and it may feel really awkward. You don't have to use your pinky. You can use a different finger if you want to, but you really want to make sure that you anchor that rubber band that's in front to make sure that it's not pulling going into the next section. Another reason why this is important guys is because you want to make sure that your squares are visible, and in order to do that, you need to make sure that you are putting the rubber band in the center of each square right. So, if we're not anchoring that that um piece of hair before we put it in the center, it's going to like mush together like you're, not gon na your squares, are not gon na, be as visible and, like honestly, there's really no way for me to explain That, without like, like you're just gon na know what i'm talking about now, if you end up rubber banding a section to a section behind it, and you see that the rubber band from the first section is pulling um. That has happened a couple times when i have rubber banded. You will see me literally take the hair that i just attached and pull it a little bit to loosen it. There'S literally nothing wrong with that. If you have product on your client's hair in each section of your square, then it should lay flat regardless so moving on in that first section we had one crossover in our second section: we're gon na have two okay, and so the reason why we're doing two Crossovers in this section is obviously because we have more hair right. You want to make sure you leave out edges y'all, because i don't know it just just really enhances everything so try to leave out those edges and for this um little quadrant or this criss cross over little section. I am using the purple rubber bands because we are going to be doing a pop of purple on each side, so this is the perfect place to do it because i feel like yeah just doing it in the top two quadrants. It wasn't going to hit the way it needed to hit so we're taking these purple rubber bands. I actually got these from the beauty supply. They literally had every single color of the rainbow and we chose purple so yeah y'all nana's watching ratchet tv. We stay on zeus, watching ratchet tv. I know y'all gon na be looking like. I know, y'all, not on zeus, watching one more chance we sure were y'all know i love to kiki with my clients and um. It'S just always a vibe. So, anyway, we are gon na go ahead and crisscross these over. I forgot to mention that, obviously well, we can see that these rubber bands are criss crossing over. So when you do one section you're just going to take the other one over and you always want to work front to back on this. Obviously you don't want to do one side and then go to the next side. I feel like it's just a little bit harder to do that way and you really want to be able to see the vision in the vibes. So, yes, we are crossing over two times now. One thing i will say is that clients who have thicker hair - it is very hard for you to get your your boxes to be visible. I feel like this style does look um better on people who have like a medium type density, so thicker, hair clients. You want to really make sure that, like before you put it in that rubber band um, you kind of like give their natural hair a twist and that's going to help it look like a little bit cleaner with your parts, but for her. She has like a really medium density, so i feel like this style, just really it just popped ahead different now, you will see me multiple times like pull on her hair a little bit just to loosen things, because sometimes you put it on and you realize it's Tight and it's okay to loosen it up, you definitely do not want to see any lumping any pulling or like any of her hair follicles, like kind of lifting i'm pretty sure. Y'All know all the things that i'm talking about um. You can see a tight rubber band, okay and then you can also always check with your client. I always ask my clients: is this too tight? Yes, no blah blah blah. So for this last section at the top, i went ahead and did the other side um for this last section at the top we're having three crossovers. So we started above the ear with one. Our next section has two. This last section is going to have three okay, so this last section will have a total of eight squares. Okay, we went from four to six and now we're at eight now make sure when you get the rubber bands you are getting. I don't know what the other ones are called, but there are are like bands, like rubber bands, i don't think they're called rubber bands, but i'm just gon na say, like they're rubber bands that are like plastic. Okay, you do not want those. Somebody asked me. What would happen if a rubber band pops - and it's just not like, i don't really see that happening like i, don't see how one of these rubber bands would pop? But if you get those like plasticky rubber bands, y'all know what i'm talking about those pop super easy or like the clear ones. Those pop super easy. So you want to make sure that you are getting like the traditional rubber bands. I will link the ones that i'm using in the description section. Not it might not be the exact brand, but i know a trusted brand on amazon that i will um definitely link for you guys and you guys can use those, because some of them are plastic and those definitely break like upon like attachment they break alright. So if you made it this far into the video you rocking with me - and i appreciate you so much for that - i have a super huge announcement at the end of this video that you do not want to miss. So if you already made it here since do not skip okay do not skip, because i'm literally about to drop a bomb on you that you are going to be like. Oh, my god penny you don't want, so i'm super excited make sure you guys stay tuned for that and yeah we're going to get through this style together. So all right so boom. We are done attaching those rubber bands and we are going to begin to make knotless box braids out of each end. Okay, so for my first section, i actually combined both of those rows into one box braid and the reason. Why is because the hair that is left out is so thin that you just really don't want to make like two box braids in that section and i'll show you guys what i'm talking about on the other side, wherever there are purple rubber bands, i am doing Purple box braids for this hair, i'm using rasta free in the color purple, and it's really not a true purple like what i wanted. If you look closely at the hair, it's like purple with little magenta pieces in it. I don't know it's really weird, so that wasn't really what i wanted, but i feel like it's really cute now that i look at it at the end it hits a little bit different, but i did want like a super vibrant, like violet type purple, but you Know i'm not complaining um, so i'm putting purple wherever the purple rubber bands is for a pop of color. I also think it would look so bomb with like a lime, green or a yellow or a red, but this client had already did red before so we decided to go with purple and it just was giving everything that it was supposed to have gave. So, basically, i'm going to take the end of um each section and i'm going to split it and create a knowledge box braid. So you guys can see these two sections are super thin and we're doing medium braids. You want these braids to match the ones in the back, so i just combined these two to make a knotless box braid for the other sections you can just split whatever is left into three and make a regular knotless box braid, my my so all right y'all. So if you follow me on any of my social media handles, then you guys know i literally dropped a bomb these past two days, i have released my own edge control line and i literally never saw my clients edges on camera, but today i'm gon na style, Tia'S edges on camera because i'm so excited for my product launch. So this is the dope collection. This is one of the first products in my haircare line and i'm super excited to introduce this edge control to you guys. I love it so much because there is no white residue and it has an amazing hold and it's really just a product that i can truly stand by. So i will leave a link to purchase this in the description section below. If you guys are a member of my channel, i do have a coupon code for you on my community tab. So make sure you guys check there before you guys check out and i'm just gon na yeah go ahead and slay it. So i'm so so excited guys. This launch was actually not supposed to happen until next year, but i had decided to release some of my products one by one. So this is the first product from my whole entire collection and i'm so excited to. Let you guys start with me um yeah. What do i not love about it, like i'm, just really happy that this is a product that i can stand by for those of you guys who have been a part of my channel. You know that i did have an etch control that i never released but um. I would use it a lot and i told you guys you guys were like drop, it drop it and it just wasn't a product that i could stand by. It had a lot of white residue and even though the whole was amazing, it just wasn't something that i was super proud of, and this is literally the exact opposite of that. So when you use it, it is very, very flexible at the beginning, and then it will dry um, not super hard, but it will dry and not move like you will get a great hold out of it. So when you first use it like when i first started using that i was like okay, like it's moving a lot, it's moving a lot and when it dries, i said, oh baby, cis, guy, edges edges and they don't move. So i'm super excited for you guys to try them if you have already tried it. Let me know in the comment section down below: if you have already cop drawers drop purple hearts. If you fill in the energy that tia just gave cause baby, she didn't even see her edges yet, but she already knew was gon na be a hit, so i did go over them with just a little bit of hairspray um. I did a mousse for this style just because her hair at the top is out - and i like was like i don't. I don't have time for it to be reverting or anything like that. So i didn't mousse, but i am gon na go in and dip her edges and do like the rest of my final touches and then yeah we're gon na get into this finished look so here we are, it is a whole entire sleigh, a whole entire. Look. She was feeling herself and i was feeling her feeling herself that's the best feeling as a stylist shout out to her makeup artist. This came looking the part and i didn't even ask her to. She just knew the assignment. So i hope you guys really really love this make sure you guys check out my edge control line. I have more products dropping, but this is just the first hit. The first banger make sure you guys check the description section for that, as always. Thank you guys. So much for rocking out with me, and i will catch you guys in my next video peace out what you mean, what you mean, what you mean, what you mean:
