Hey guys, I've been getting a lot of requests for prom updos. This hairstyle will work on medium to long hair and it's easy enough to do yourself. I chose to do this pin curl bun because it's popular for prom and I actually did this on my little sister for her prom before. ^_^ If you don't have bangs that's even better. I think this style looks more elegant without them.
♥ What I used:
Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray
Hair Brush
Scunci No Slip Grip hair tie
Babyliss Pro Tourmaline Curling Iron 1 1/4 barrel
♥ Hair Accessories:
- Scunci Crystal headband (Claire's has some pretty ones too.)
- Pearl headband
- Flower clips
Hey guys in this video, I'm going to show you how to create this super easy prom updo, since we will be using hot tools, apply heat protectant here, I'm using my Tresemme heat tamer spray and I like to concentrate more of the product at the tips of My hair, since that area tends to dry out brush your hair to distribute the product evenly, also allow the product to dry for a few minutes before applying your Hot Tools. Now gather your hair up into a high ponytail and make sure it's all smooth use. A strong grip hair tie to secure your ponytail. My favourites are these no slip grips from spencey and anything is good just as long as it doesn't have that metal bar, because that can damage your hair and hurt. Your fingers now grab an inter section of hair from the front of your ponytail and curl it with the curling iron. Here, I'm using my fabulous one and a quarter inch Ferro, and this is tourmaline and ceramic, so it won't damage your hair as much as the metal ones. After releasing the curling iron from your hair, you want to gather your curl back up and kind of play around with it and curl it back inwards. Then you want to just push the base of the curl down on your head, then grab a bobby, pin and secure that area in place. Don'T forget to slide the bobby pin through the curl and the base of your hair then grab another one intersection of hair and again curl it with the curling iron, wrap the curl back up with your fingers and then find a nice place to pin the curl And you want to look for a spot that doesn't have curls already, because you want to pin the curl right at the base of your head that way it will stay in place. Then you can go ahead and do the exact same thing to the other side of your ponytail. If you have some hair sticking out of your curls, then don't worry about that, because you can always pull back and fix it with bobby pins. Alright guys. This is the last one and don't worry when you're doing this by yourself, you'll realize how easy and how thick it is now is the time to go back in and fix all those flyaways with bobby pins. If you have short loose strands near the front of your face, like I do, all you have to do is grab a curling iron and curl it, and this will instantly give you that done up. Look when you're all done screw your hair to protect your hairstyle. Here I'm using my whites and stuck-up hair spray. This part is optional, but I love to accessorize, depending on the style of your dress, you can opt for a really classy headband like this. This one has crystals on it and, if you're a girl who loves pearls check out these pearl headbands and lastly, you can accessorize with flowery Clips, and here I'm just using black ones. You can use whatever flower Clips you like, depending on the color of your dress. So that's all there is to it.
