Hi guys and welcome to my channel, my name is marisa and i'm here on youtube to talk all things. Curly, hair and today's video is all about some hairstyles for those days where your hair just isn't quite cutting it down. Maybe you need to wash your hair, but you can't be bothered or maybe you just want to change, and you want to put your hair up. So i am coming to you with some easy hairstyles for those sort of days now um i have a new dressing table which i'm so excited about. I have never had a dressing table before in my life and i absolutely love it. It'S got the lights. I got it from wayfair i'll pop a link in the description box if anyone's looking for one, it's, nice and small, it just fits in my room um and we are getting a new bedroom, so everything's going to be white rather than the wood look of the Bed that you can see, so it's going to fit it's going to suit the rest of the room, but oh i love it, so i had to have a little honorary spot in today's video, so the first hairstyle that i'm going to show you is just about The simplest one, i don't even really think that it needs a video, but quite often when i do my hair like this and like i speak on my instagram stories or something um, a lot of people will ask me what have i done with my hair. Literally, it's just a ponytail or a pineapple, using either an invisible or like a silk scrunchie, and just doing it like right on the top of your head and then letting your curls fall down like that kind of looks like a bit of a sort of a Fancy updo and if you want to level it up, then obviously you can add your earrings, but also you can add a nice headband. This one is one of my all-time favorites. It'S a twisted headband from dandelion and you can see how just adding a cool headband. Just elevates that from a simple ponytail to a kind of a style and another thing you can do with the ends of your your pineapple, your ponytail is just kind of scoop them together, use a bobby, pin, kirby grip, depending on where you live. What you call them and just kind of poke it in there at the back, just to hide the ends and that suddenly looks a bit more of a style as well. So if you really haven't got much time and you just want your hair out the way or your hair's not looking great, then this is a really really easy one. I like to pull my baby hairs down and sometimes pull you know a few little curls out. The more little wispy bits you pull out the more sort of messy bohemian romantic. It'S gon na look, so that's completely up to you. You can loosen it as much or as little as you want, and there we go simple style. Number two is a messy bun, but not like a messy bun on the top of your head, more of a low messy bun. So the first thing i'm going to do is just section out the front section so almost like you're going for a half up but bring that forward out the way i'm just going to tie it there out the way i'm going to bring all the rest of My hair down to the nape of my neck and i have another invisible just to secure it. Now you you don't want to pull it tight. You want to kind of loosen it as you go and then on the third twist of the invisible, don't pull the hair all the way through and then pull that spread out that into a sort of a bun right there? Okay, then, you can pull out the hair a bit more make it look a bit looser. So that's the base of our bun. Now we can let the the front down and you can part it. However, you want. However, you normally would center side, whatever you like and you're, just going to separate it into sections and twist it now, of course curls or twists anyway. So you can go in the direction of your curl if you can figure that out and take it back towards the bun but you're going to pull along that twist to loosen it and make it look big and then take it to the bun and using a Pin you just want to pin it in to the bun you've already made and then you'll come back and do the same thing again twist pull to loosen it and pin it now you might decide to leave some hair down, which i think i will. I think i'll leave a little bit in front of my ear and a little bit here at the front. Take this guy back though same thing again and pin, and if your hair doesn't go all the way back to the bun. Don'T worry, just pin it wherever it will reach to okay so same on the other side. Don'T worry if it looks a bit messy at the moment, we'll sort that out in a minute and again decide what bits you might want to leave down next to your face and pull to loosen it a little bit because you don't want it to be tight To your head, you want it kind of loose and romantic looking at the back here. It might be a bit messy. You might be able to see some pins, but that's okay, because what we're gon na do now is spread out that bun and pin it, and that will cover any messiness. At this point. It'S a good idea to have a second mirror so that you can have a look and see what the back is actually looking like. So i'm just going to tidy a tiny bit more and then we're done there. We go and, of course, as with any updo, it is not complete without a pair of fancy earrings. These are some of my favorites. They are from luna moon designs by h on etsy and i'll pop, a link in the description box. For these too, the third hairstyle i want to show you is a half up um and it's using one of these, which is again an invisible, but this is the nano and it is tiny which is so perfect for my hair, because my hair is fine. If i do a half up, i struggle to get a hair tie, that's going to actually hold the hair, but this works amazingly well. So, of course, there's various ways you can do a half up. You could just take the top section or you could take it from the ears and that's what i'm going to do today, and this is a little hack if you have either fine hair or low density hair, and you find that doing a half up like a Regular half up makes you look like you, haven't, really got any hair, so i'll show you that way. First and then i'll show you the hat. So there's a half up put the bubble in you, look a bit like a potato and it doesn't really look like you've got much hair because by the time you've lifted this half up. You know you've not got much left underneath. So, instead of doing that, what i like to do is take just a very small section from the ears. So so really not very much hair at all. You'Ll see that there so let the most of your hair stay down fluff up as much as you want and then take that section smooth as you can just with your fingers and pull it back a little bit and then i'm using the nano. And then it goes all the while kind of pulling the hair back a little. I just double it over once and then you can pull that pull up this hair around your face and kind of pull it at the sides so that the hair you've taken into the invisible is spread over the rest of your hair. Now it's a half up, but your hair looks full. I mean it looks like i have twice as much hair as doing it. The other way doesn't it. I think it does anyway, and it also looks full at the back. I absolutely love doing a half up like this, and the invisible nano is perfect. For that absolutely perfect. I only have one of them and i keep me need to get more because um, i'm scared of losing it. I'Ve added my salty and sunkissed shell earrings, because i was just feeling beachy vibes there. I have one more little hack for you. If, like me, you have sort of a high hairline um at the corners here of your face. What i like to do is just bring my baby hairs down, not laying them or anything like that, just pulling them down and it kind of fills in those corners and makes your face. Just look. My forehead look a little bit smaller. Let'S face it. I'Ve kind of got a five head, so anything i can do to minimize that i'm happy so literally just pulling them down with my fingers and um. I just prefer prefer how that looks while we're talking jewelry and earrings. I just want to show you this little hack that i got from pinterest. This is an old ice cube tray, and that is how i am now organizing my jewelry. So i have a pair of earrings in each and it's so great to be able to see them all and even better than that they stack. So i have them here in my drawer one and then two. I can easily see all my pairs of earrings and my necklaces. Everything is all stored in two ice cube trays, which is such a space saver, i'm going to show you another all up to which is really simple. This one's especially good if your hair is an absolute mess like a disaster, but you want to look smart one time that happened to me and i had to go to work in my last job and um. I found this hairstyle and i found it on instagram and i'm gon na put here the instagram handle of the person who inspired me with this hairstyle, because i can't remember off the top of my head. You need the kind of headband that is all in one, not one that needs tying. So i'm using this one from dandelion and what you want to do is put it on your head, like on top of your hair, like that pull it down fairly far, starting at one side and you're gon na take it and you're gon na tuck it and Bring it under and you're gon na keep doing that all the way around. Take the hair tuck it behind the hair band and then pull it down. You may need to kind of keep readjusting the headband, because it can slip and slide a little bit as you're doing this. But that's okay! You can just keep adjusting it and just keep taking sections and poking them through to the underneath and pulling them. So do that until you get to the middle on that side and then you're going to start the other half pulling the hair kind of smooth under the hairband. So when you've done that, um and you've got all your hair kind of tucked around the hairband. At the back, you're gon na have a little funny ponytail, so you just take that and tuck it in at the back. I'M just going to go along tucking in making sure it's all smooth and making sure that the hair is covering the hair band. Most of the way around like from here around to the back, then you just take a few grips and grip it in place and just use as many grips as you feel you need for it to be so secure. You can pull it. I like to pull it a little bit at the front there and again pull my baby hairs down and again some earrings. This is another pair from luna moon designs by h, and that is you i mean i think, that's super classy, and i think it's really important to bear in mind that up to's do not have to be perfect, especially with curly hair. It lends itself to a slightly tousled messy look. I see so many people saying well that looks great on you, but i can't do updos. Don'T say that to yourself just give it a try a little bit of practice and you absolutely will be able to do them and don't expect perfection and one last hairstyle to show you which is potentially the simplest of all. First thing: i'm going to do is use a little bit of the hair dance dry, shampoo and, to be honest, this would be great to use before doing any hair ups, because it just gives your hair a bit more volume and a bit more grip. So i just apply a bit to my hands and massage it in makes your hair smell amazing as well, and the whole point of this is to kind of get your hair, tousled and and big, don't worry about frizz or mess. It really doesn't matter just pile it all over to one side and then get a pretty clip if you have one. This is an only curls london, one and pop it there, and that is it. If you feel like your hair's gon na fall, you can just take a couple of kirby grips and pin them at the back. Here. That'S not going anywhere and i think that's a really stylish look. It looks really nice with an evening dress as well, but so so easy. I hope that those uh different hairstyles were helpful. Let me know if you try any of them or if you have any really good go-to easy, curly updos then pop them in the comments, because i would love to hear - and if you found this video helpful, please do give it a thumbs up. Uh leave a comment subscribe to my channel because that really helps me out and it helps me to continue making more videos in the future thanks so much for being here and i'll see you soon bye, you

KCG 123: Yes!!! Its so great seeing tutorials for fine, shorter hair!

Karen Meister: Love your videos Marissa. You make it look so easy! I am terrible at putting my hair up. I really need to practice these. Thanks.

Jessica Bevins: Thanks for all the inspiration and keeping it simple. I love the 2nd one! I'm in desperate need of a trim so I'm having to get creative. I'm trying one of these tomorrow!

Abby Riley: Hey, thanks for the video, definitely some ideas in there I have to try ! I did the last one last time I was able to see family with some bedazzled pins and I got so many complements ! (I was even happier knowing I did it because only one side of my hair was acting up, so I could hide it while showing the curls I liked from my other side)

Yana Vallie: I loved all of them on you! I wear the twisty headband often and the side clip in the heat, I sometimes go for a bun but invisibobbles always slide out on me and I find it hard to keep the volume in the bun this way. It amazed me actually what a big difference earrings make

Noelia: I love all your styles but I think my favourite is the second one. I think that kind of low bun could certainly be worn at a wedding. Also, thanks for the half up do trick. I haven’t got invisibobbles but I’ll be certainly be getting some. I think that hairstyle will be useful for work for me. I wanted to mention a tip about hair grips. Did you know that if you apply them to your head the wavy part down (rather than the smooth one) they grip better?

Carrie ann nelson: This is so helpful I've been looking for easy up dos, but I never seem to be able to do them even though it looks so easy to do x

Faith Julian: I loved them all! Your silver blond hair is beautiful and the earrings are to die for. Good job.

Eloise Streather: Your so lovely. Love your hairstyles. Would love some more hairstyles, I have low density fine curls and your half up half down style hack for low density was fab thank you

Sian Biddle: Such a great video! I will be trying some of these for definite, as you know my hair is being a pain at the moment haha!

Claire Littlewood: I’m currently going through all your videos before I start my journey. Firstly I love your videos and your hair is amazing. My question is I have to have my hair tied up for working in a kitchen 9-3 Mon-Fri would this affect my curls having it up for so long 5 days a week? Thanks

Alysha Elkin: You are just so gorgeous! I love the headband wrap style at the end.

Amy Aranda: Such great ideas and I love all your fun earrings!

Ester Lund: Thank you so much for this video!

PrIntLPro: The last one is definitely not for a windy climate)) Nice video, thank you!

Tracey Stanton: Beautiful and nice ideas for hairdo....where you get your top from ? Suits you x

Danielle Lincoln: Did you wear that outfit for a wedding or summer assembly
