Everyone it's gina and welcome back to my channel today, we're talking all about how to care for and style your thin curly hair or your low density curly hair. So i'm going to take you through lots of tips and tricks, styling techniques, and even what to ask for in a haircut if you have low density hair. Also, if you are new to my channel, i make videos all about naturally curly hair and i try and break it down in simple easy to follow steps. This video is part of the curly hair care for beginners playlist, where we go back to the basics, and i really walk you through how to take care of your curls and just try and make it easier, because i know first learning how to take care of Your curls can be very overwhelming and there's so much to know, so i hope to make this easy to follow so first off. How do you know if you actually have low density or thin curls? My hair is somewhat borderline between low density and medium. So all of the hair that i have is already in front there's nothing behind. This is all the hair that i have so it's just naturally a lot thinner than some people that have higher density, thicker hair. So i've just really learned to embrace my natural texture. I really encourage you to not try and focus too much on everyone else that has very thick hair. I really just try and accept the fact that my hair is never going to be super thick and you can still get really pretty natural curls. Even if you have thin curls or low density hair, i definitely think that's what makes curls so beautiful is just how unique everyone's hair is. Everyone has different textures, there's a difference between hair density and hair texture, so density refers to how much hair is actually on your head. So if you have low density hair, you can see more of your scalp. Your hair is just a lot thinner in general, whereas hair texture, whether if you have fine, medium or coarse hair, refers to the actual thickness of individual strands, so my hair is actually medium to coarse, which might surprise some of you. It definitely surprised me. I always thought that i had fine curly hair just because it was thinner and it just looked like it was fine, but i actually had a hair analysis done from my main bio. I will put that link in the description for that video. It'S so fascinating. Just to go through the science of my hair, but they basically look at your hair under a microscope. Send you pictures give you a full report back and come to find out. I actually have 50 medium and 50 coarse, but the density of my hair is low. So i don't have a lot of hair on my head, but the individual strands are medium to high thickness of the actual strand. Also, your hair can change density over time. When i was a teenager, my hair was twice as thick as it is now and just over time with age, i'm now 27 going on 28 and it's already gotten, probably half as thick just with age. It could be genetics and i've just accepted that and, like i said, really tried to just embrace having thinner, hair so another way to actually test your hair's density is to put your hair up in a low ponytail. So all you do is pull it right back. Like this and then actually measure the thickness of your ponytail, so you can use a flexible measuring tape like you would use with clothing and depending on how many inches around. If you have hair that is two inches or below, then you have low density hair. If it's two to three inches, you have medium hair and if it's four plus, then you have high density hair. So now i'm going to take you through an actual styling routine and show you tons of tips and tricks to get fuller, looking more voluminous curls. So my first tip is to make sure that you are clarifying frequently and you don't have any build up on your hair. If you have fine curly, hair or low density curls, it can get weighed down and get build up on it very easily, which can really just stretch out your curls and just make it look even flatter. I recommend clarifying at least once a month. It just depends on the hair products that you use, whether if you have hard water or not, but i usually clarify about every two weeks, but you can do it once a month, it's just good to do regularly. I also recommend not co-washing every single time that you wash your hair if you're not sure what co-washing is. I have another video all about the differences between co-wash, shampoo, low poos and clarifying shampoos. All that, because i know it can be kind of confusing with all the different terms, but basically a co-wash is like using a conditioner to wash your hair. So if you strictly follow the curly girl method, then that kind of teaches you that you're only supposed to co-wash your hair, but i personally think that that can lead to a lot of build up. I think it's important to still mix in regular lathering shampoos. They can totally be sulfate-free, the only shampoos that i use are sulfate-free, but if you're only co-washing your hair might get weighed down because some of those oils and the product residue will just build up on your hair over time. So what i like to do is a combination of both, so i sort of alternate, i guess, between shampoo and co-washing. I always swear by deep conditioning and i think it's very important, especially if you struggle with dry hair. I love deep conditioning. I usually do it once a week. If you start deep conditioning religiously, you will definitely see the benefits in your hair, but if you've ever deep conditioned - and you notice that your curls just look really weighed down afterwards or if they feel too soft and kind of just like wispy, looking or you're. Having a hard time getting curl definition, then you might have too much moisture. So it would be a good idea to try deep conditioning before you shampoo, so apply your deep conditioner first to dirty, hair and then shampoo, and then you can use the regular conditioner afterwards. But that is a great way to not have your hair get weighed down from deep conditioners. I also recommend incorporating some protein deep conditioners in your routine, so i usually alternate between a protein deep conditioner and a moisturizing one. I also have a video all about how to balance protein and moisture, because that's extremely important, no matter what your hair type is, you can also try out damp styling. This is probably my biggest tip in this video if you have low density hair because it makes such a difference, i recently did a video all about damp versus wet styling, where i compared the two side by side and damp. Styling is basically where you wring out a lot of the water. That'S in your hair before you apply your styling products. So after you finish rinsing out your conditioner or your deep conditioner, you put your hair up in like a hair, repair towel or a microfiber towel, and let some of that water get absorbed. And then you go in and style your hair with your products and diffuse. It really cuts down on your drying time, which is a bonus, so it's great in the summertime when you don't want to be diffusing forever, and it also gives your hair a lot of fullness. So that was one of the biggest differences that you all notice in that testing, video that i did, but the inside just stayed a lot fuller. It made such a difference. So ever since i did that video, i have been only damp styling and it's totally changed. My routine, it's cut down on my styling and drying time, and it's just been such a game changer for me, so my next tip is to look for styling products that are more lightweight. Sometimes it can be as obvious as right on the label. It'Ll say lightweight or volume, or something like that, but i highly recommend turning the product around and actually reading the labels and seeing what's in the product if the product is heavy and coconut oil or shea butter, any type of butter or oil. Sometimes that can be too heavy on fine, curly, hair or low density hair, so those would be better suited for more coarse hair types. If you have fine, curly, hair and or low density curls, it might be a better option to look for products such as mousse or foams or gels, or even leave-in conditioners. You can use some creams as long as they're, not super heavy like with coconut oil or shea butter. You might have noticed that i do sometimes use styling, butters and creams, because my hair does have more of that coarse texture to it. So it doesn't get weighed down as easily as somebody with fine hair, so another way that you can still use, creams and butters or just with any styling product that you don't want to get weighed down, is to actually dilute it with some water. So i would first wet your hands, make sure your hands are good and wet and then apply a little bit of the product and kind of rub it together and that's one way to sort of dilute it. So it's not quite as potent it's not quite as thick, and it's not going to weigh down your hair as much so then i just wanted to show you the stylers, which would be a better option if you have fine, curly, hair or just low density hair. That you don't want to get weighed down. This is the innocent sweet spirit, leave-in conditioner. So this is a spray leaving conditioner. So it's a lot more lightweight perfect for fine curly hair. It doesn't weigh your hair down. This has aloe vera leaf juice in it. I don't see anything in here that would be super heavy, it's full of different oils, but i don't find it to be heavy at all on my hair and it's in that spray form. So i know it's already going to be more watered down and water is the first ingredient. So it's a lot thinner, then for the main styling product. I actually use this foam. This is the inner sense. I create lift volumizing foam, but this is a very lightweight foam, so foams give your hair a lot more moisture, sometimes than mousse. Does foams are usually a lighter hole, though than mousse, but i will show you how i still get hold in just a second, but this has water, as the first ingredient also has aloe vera leaf juice in it, which is very hydrating. It has glycerin to help with moisture, it does have hydrolyzed rice protein and some other natural oils that are lower on the list, but i don't see anything too heavy in here, so this is great to use even directly on your roots for more volume. So this would be a good option if you do have fine curly hair, so my next tip is to try styling your hair in the upright position instead of upside down. If you watch a lot of curly hair videos, you'll see a lot of people like applying their products upside down to help give them more volume at the root, and it definitely helps with that. But i've always noticed when i style my hair upside down. The back. Always looks awful, even if i kind of lean to the side and try scrunching it. It always just looks like i have no hair and the roots always just look weird. So try doing your hair upright. I have tons of different tips on getting volume at the roots. That'S a whole nother video that i did. I recommend checking that one out as well as all the other ones that i've mentioned. I know there's a lot, but i've done full videos on these topics where i go into depth on things like how to get volume at your roots, so there's lots of tips in there. So you can still do your hair upright and incorporate those tips to still get volume at your roots. The other reason i recommend upright styling is you can actually place your hair to avoid your scalp showing. So this is something that i always do when i'm finished. Styling, my hair is i just kind of take a look at my hair using a handheld mirror, so i can see the back and i just really work on placing my curls to where it's covering my scalp, especially if you have any areas that are really thin. Like around the crown area, or if you have a cowlick, i really recommend just placing those curls by kind of situating them. You know, because how your hair looks when it's wet is a lot of times how it's going to dry. So if you can see a ton of scalp when it's wet, then you don't want it to dry that way. So i would recommend just like kind of going over with your fingers a little bit and sort of situating the curls, so they sort of hide it and look a lot fuller. So, along with placing your curls when you're styling, you can also sort of avoid creating a super defined part. So that is one thing. I'Ve been doing a lot more of recently is sort of zigzagging, my part, or just trying to have more of a messy part and kind of angling, my hair backwards. If i have a super straight defined part, then you can see more of my scalp, as you can see when i lean over, the part is not super defined, so it looks like my hair is a lot fuller. I get more volume at the root instead of having a super defined part it'll. Just look a lot flatter and you might get more of that triangle shape if you have a straight middle part. Another styling tip that i recommend, if you have low density or fine hair, is avoid applying product directly to your root. So a lot of people only like applying styling products like from their ears down. You can totally try that too, but the more products that you put directly on your scalp, the more weight down that it's going to get and the more product build up. You might get so, especially with things like leave-in, conditioner and curl creams. I would really only focus those on the lower half things like gel and mousse. You could definitely probably put those closer to your roots, especially if you want to have more hold up there, but just be mindful of how much product is actually getting on your scalp when you're applying your products. My next styling tip is to really be careful when you're scrunching your hair, because if you're scrunching your hair up or you're pressing your hair up with a towel to scrunch it a lot of times that product can end up on your scalp too, which could weigh It down so just be careful when you're scrunching, they're kind of leaning, your head to the side and you're, not just pressing all that product directly up onto your scalp and that could weigh down your hair. My next styling tip would be to avoid creating a lot of large curl clumps when you're styling, your hair. If you like to use the denman brush, which i definitely do when i'm styling my hair, because it gives me really great ringlets and curl clumps. But if you're trying to get a fuller look, then you might want to try having a more separated look, the more that your hair is clumped together, the thinner it's going to look because then you end up with just a couple curls on your head versus having A lot more that are more separated, so i know a lot of you really like getting curl clumps. I definitely do, but there are ways to do it to where you can still get good definition, but also have volume, and i've talked about this in so many styling routines. So i do show a lot of tricks in the last video that i did all about how to use the denman brush, where i compare it to a routine, not using the denman brush. I compared those side by side so in that video you'll see tons of tips on how to use the denman brush without getting clumps that are super large and make your hair look a lot thinner and if you opt for a more lightweight product like that, but You don't find that you have enough hold, you can top it off with a hairspray like this one. This is the inner sense. I create finish so this is a hairspray that provides shine and hold. So you can spray this on when your hair is still wet and then diffuse your hair, you can also use it after your hair is dry. I just sprayed a little bit of this to help tame the frizz. So that's one way to kind of customize. The amount of hold that you have is use a lightweight styling product like a foam and then add in your hold with a spray like this. On top, i do recommend, though, really minimizing the number of products that you use. If you don't want your hair to get weighed down, so i wouldn't layer on a ton of products, i wouldn't add in a ton of oils in your routine, just keeping it very simple, even just using one styling product, because i have high porosity hair, which that's A whole nother video - i also did one on that. If your hair is high porosity, you might find that you need more moisture, so you can't get away with just using a gel or mousse, so i always have to start off with a leave-in or cream. First to add moisture, so my hair doesn't dry out and then i usually finish off with a gel or mousse to help seal everything in and give myself some hold. So i almost forgot to mention fluffing and scrunching out. The crunch makes the world of a difference. If you have thin curls, it just adds so much volume instantly. You want to make sure your hair is completely 100 dry before you go and do this because you don't want to cause frizz, but i always shake out my roots fluff. I didn't really scrunch out any crunch here, because i wanted to keep that hold in my hair. I also wanted to add that if you diffuse your hair you're going to have so much more volume than air drying, air drying is obviously healthier for your hair, but there are ways that you can diffuse by hovering the diffuser around your head. I have a video all about how i diffuse and how i also plop. At the same time, i will put that video linked down below, so my next tips are about getting a haircut if you have low density hair. So just getting a haircut in general is the easiest way to make your hair look fuller. So i recently got a haircut where i got several inches cut off and even though it doesn't look like my hair is a lot shorter than it used to be. It looks so much fuller on the ends compared to having kind of stringy ends. So in the video that i posted recently all about the haircut, i showed the differences between my hair before i got the haircut and after and it is such a difference on the ends, even just getting a little bit of a trim can make your ends. Look so much thicker. I was really trying to grow out my hair and i really wanted longer hair, but i came to find that my hair just looked thinner the longer it was so having more of a blunt cut, where your hair is more straight across, really helps your hair. Look. Fuller on the end - and it just gives you a lot more volume on the end, so in general i have just found that having shorter haircuts with low density hair always tends to make it look fuller. So another tip for haircuts with low density hair is avoid. Having layers i've had layers in my hair before i've even had longer layers that really help to give your hair more volume at the top, but they can make your ends. Look so thin because if the top section of your hair is going to be sitting up, a lot shorter, like you're, getting a lot more fullness up here, but look how much thinner my ends. Look when that length is taken away, whereas if i lay it down where everything is all one length, it's so much fuller on the end, and it just looks more even overall. So that is all the tips that i had today for low density hair. I would love to hear your tips if you have learned any throughout your journey of having low density or thin hair, definitely leave them down below for other people to see. I'M also going to summarize all these tips on the blog post. That goes with this video, which is always linked in the description box down below. If you go over there, it kind of serves as a cheat sheet. If you want to save it on pinterest refer back to it, it just kind of summarized what we talked about here in this video and that blog post also includes all the product links of the products that i talked about today. So you can see where to get them there. Thank you all so much for watching. Don'T forget to subscribe to my channel. If you have not yet already, and i hope to see you back next week, bye everyone

Gena Marie: Head to the blog post for more info, a summary of tips, and product links: https://genamarie.co/2020/07/tips-for-low-density-thin-curls-and-fine-hair-wash-day-routine/

Melissa: Thank you for the tips!!! I’ve always felt like the only one struggling with thin curly hair - I’m glad I’m not the only one. Your hair gives me hope that I can revive my routine and make my hair cute again! You have beautiful curls! I love how you’ve accepted the type of curls you have and aren’t trying to make them something they’re not.

Ruth L.: Having fine low-density curly hair it's the ultimate beauty struggle. I have tons of products sitting unused in my cabinet because everything seems to make my hair heavy or dirty, even when using the smallest amounts. I have reached the point of no applying any styling product and leaving my hair "breath" with just a little bit of serum after washing and conditioning. No curl cream, no mousse, no gel... Nothing!

Anna Burns: So much info! Thanks Gena. I have such fine hair that it is very difficult to deal with. The last haircut I got I asked for a blunt bob. The stylist really did not want to do that. She was very resistant, but after years of my hair looking even more stringy layers, I finally decided for a blunt cut. It looks so much better.

Michaela Bennison: I noticed how my hair looks thinner when I use the Denman brush to define my curls. Last wash day I used my brush to distribute my leave in and then broke up the clumps with my fingers. It worked really well for me.

elinor kent: Same here. I was always getting layers, but since I got more blunt cuts my hair looks way more fuller

Sinndy Morr: Great tips! Its very refreshing to see people celebrate their natural texture. One of the toughest struggles is finding a stylist who understands the complexity of textured hair. There is a great need, for more textured hair education, prior to licensing.

KatherineJoanna: I noticed so many CG influencers call their hair fine or low-density, but when I compare their hair to mine, it seems like they have a lot more to work with. If I gather all my hair, my ponytail is only as thick as my finger and my hair gets extremely tangled and difficult to work with when soaking wet, so many of the styling tips out there do not work for me. Water is just too heavy for my hair.

Diana Nemoy: Love your channel and appreciate someone with similar hair as it's rare online considering so many have the kinkier course dry curls with their own set of issues as well no doubt. I've had fine but alot of it hair most of my life and never knew low density was a thing. Exact same story as you, in teens I had a much tighter curl and thicker hair, pure comedy with all the junk food and etc in those days yet in my late 20s as well eating super clean and very healthy lifestyle for years it got thinner and more loose in a wave/curl like yours. Nice to hear I'm not alone as I was always baffled by this simply per age never made sense to me. Se la vie!

nancy casiano: Thank you very much this was a very informative video. we almost have the same type of hair. I recently went natural and curly so your videos are a big help for my transition ....thank you

ariana reyes: wow i feel so not alone about my fine curly hair, i thought i wouldn’t ever be able to take care of it since products can be super heavy. you give me hope! thank you for this video !

A B: Thank you for this! My daughter has thin curly hair and I really don't want to damage it while trying to style it

L’incantevole Puppydoglover83: YAY girl thanks so much for the video i know this is for girls thin hair yet my hair is thick lol doesn’t stop me from watching your amazing tips

Zara Plakakis: So nice to find your channel! I have low density as well. Thank you ❤️

Natalia Girejko: Thank You so much for the video! I've spent so much time watching different videos, looking for someone with hair similar to minę and useful tips! You video has helped me understand the type of my hair and how not to overweigh it ! I am looking forward to watching your other videos

Paul and Amy Lynn Darrow: I've heard alot about Innersense, and I've researched but they are so expensive. I work 2 and 3 jobs to make ends meet, and I was wondering if you have a video about more affordable curly products for fine, thin, curly hair that really work that will help with dry scalp and frizz control that really do work.

Chris Tubbs: I just found your channel and love it. Very helpful information!!

Hannah Paris: Oh my god thank you so much for explaining the difference between fine and low density and how they aren’t the same. It drives me crazy I can never find videos on actual fine hair they’re all just low density thick hair. I’m a hair stylist trying to figure out my fine low density curls. I had dreadlocks for 7 years and just took them out. I will be subbing I love you

Annette Becker: This is my first time to watch your videos and I am very impressed. You explain everything so well. I subscribed I look forward to watching your other videos.

L’incantevole Puppydoglover83: Love your wash day routines they are so interesting-in a good way though love seeing you use different products

BittyBallOfCurly: I read in a previous post of yours that you recommended long layers. It was in the video/post to avoid triangle hair, but I see here you recommended avoiding layers completely. What is your final stance? I'm gonna get a cut soon and I'm at a loss of what to ask for TT

BunniesAndBubbles: so i’m a natural blonde which means i have very fine hair but it’s also medium-high density but the ends are bleached because i used to do fashion colors a lot so basically it’s extremely difficult because if i use too much moisture my hair gets very weighed down but if i use too little it gets very dry and frizzy

Hunter Harvey: My hair is very thin and my churla just kind of straighten/fallout/elongate throughout the day and I am really starting to give up on it. It used to be curlier/stay curly and I’ve tried so many things. Does anyone have tips? Edit: stopped using heat on it since 2015 (maybe three times a year).

Filly Bee: I really enjoyed watching your video. It has taken me my whole life, (I am 57) to find someone with my hair type! My hair is just underneath my bra strap but I think I still have less hair than you Maybe my texture is fine as oppose to yours, hence being so "little". Not even enough to do layers as I got older. No more styling upside down for me. Thanks for that tip, and all the other useful ones

Kelly Jackson: Super helpful - thank you!

Rachelle P: Yes 100 % best tip Gena, I Love damp styling upright so much for volume . I am also medium to course hair and low density. I love creams, and my hair loves heavy products. These products are formulated for my hairs texture. I help with the look of my hair density like you with damp styling. If I use light products formulated for fine hair textures my hair is fluffy, dry, less defined and just doesn't last. It took some time but I have been learning my hairs and the uniqueness that they are lol.

Mandy Ramirez: Great tips. Especially the part about the scalp showing. Thanks!

Ali H: Ah I wish I'd found u and these videos a couple of months ago when I started accepting my curls. Would have saves a lot of $$. U have the same hair as I do and now I know I need a cut and some lighter products. THANK YOU♥

Deborah Hill: Loved the video. I’ve seen flat-palming scrunching was better than scrunching fingers around hair. Have you ever tried it?

Sandra Williams: Wow where have I been that I’m just seeing your page? In my teen yrs I had a head full of hair but as I got older my hair density went down. I’m so glad I have found this page. Thank you.

Amy-Marie Collins: Hi Gena Marie.. I love your name! I am Amy-Marie.. I have a hyphen. Anyway, we have very similar hair. I have really enjoyed watching you and your videos. (Btw, your eyebrows always look amazing as does your makeup in general) I think it’s so important to find ppl that have similar hair to watch so you don’t buy products that are wrong for you. I bought the CurlSmith Weightless air dry cream and really, really wanted to love it but it made my hair into 5-6 giant bologna curls!! However, I watched a few of your videos and on one you said to dilute the creams with water. I also like the idea of scrunching my hair with wet hands. Great tips!! Ty so much for making such phenomenal videos. I look forward to your new ones but for now I’m plugging away at all your fantastic videos and tips!! ☺️

whitakermarisa: Hey!! I'm really glad I found your channel! I have low-density, 2a waves, but I'm curious if your tips will work for someone with low-porosity, too? Sometimes I find people with the low-density/fine mix but they have higher-porosity and those products still aren't friends with my hair. Thanks so much!!

pamela west: I have low density hair, when I wash and condition my hair, it just seem to disappear into thinness. I am a 3A/3B hair and I struggle to get volume into my hair. If I am not careful and try too hard, I would end up with a hair full of frizz , instead of gaining some volume.

Lavannia S: best video! i have similar hair type like yours. very helpful thanks!

Amy Salvati: this video really saved my hair!! thank you!

A LT: I have low density fine hair from hair loss due to hypothyroidism. My hair is also bleached from highlights. It’s just below shoulder length, and I just had an inch cut off the ends, she put a few very light layers in it but nothing crazy. I struggle with my curls/waves looking stringy like ramen noodles. I know you said that bigger curls clumps are not good but my 2c spirals don’t want to clump together I’m thinking it’s maybe due to the damage from the bleach highlights, my sections underneath have lovely spirals and bigger clumps but on the upper sections it’s a struggle if anyone has advice I’m all ears, thank you Edited to add - I naturally have 2c waves and some spirals, my damaged areas are 2b.

RUCHI GERA: Thank you.. for the "it looks like i have no hair"!!! I thought i was doing something wrong. I cant wait to try ur way!!

ankita jain: Hi Gena. Thanks for the tips. I am new in this curly gurl world.. started transitioning.. Any recommendations on protein rich deep conditioner. I am also facing a lot of wet frizz, any suggestions on this..

Therese W: Thank you for this I totally relate to everything! My main problem is finding a curly hair hairdresser? Would you ever recommend letting a normal hairdresser wash and blow dry straight so they can then cut it or any advice here would be appreciated! Not had a haircut for 12 months now really need one.

Natalya Ellen: This video is amazing thank you!

lala see: The individual hair i have is super thin almost invisible Even before it started shedding it would look thin when i straighten it but not in it's natural state people would be surprised I'm truly suffering failing to understand how to deal with it I'm so tired and depressed

madi: hi! do you know if clarifying your hair is safe for colored hair? i have henna dye in currently and i don’t want to wash it out!!

Fine Curls: Great video! How many times per week do you wash your hair? I have low density fine 3b 3c curly hair. I wash my hair 2 times per week but sometimes I wonder if it's too much for my fine hair.

Bethany Lortcher: Love this video! I have thinner curly hair so this helped a ton! Your top looks so cute! Where’s it from?

Jenn Person: I just came across your channel..and I'm obsessed. I've finally found someone to help with my super thin hair but question...I looked into mymanebio and they're closing is there another thing similar ?

Hannah: heyo! Do you list any references for your information? Thank you :)

Suzanne Johnson: Thank you. I have thick curly hair but I did learn from the video anyway :)

Huét: how long should i keep the deep conditioner in my hair before i wash it?

Dusty Thorpe: I was styling upside down and within an hour the back of my crown always looked like I had been laying on it all day. If I diffuse upright I do not have that problem.

Andrea Rodrigue: Right on the mark with the haircut and length.

Carley Page: It's weird because I have fine curly hair and my hair gets oily but the heavier oils do help my hair more because of my low porosity. Coconut oil just sits on my hair, and mousse foams and gels make my hair so gross and crunchy lol I can't for the life of me get my roots to volume up while keeping it moisturized I've wanted long hair forever and it makes me sad that I have to lose my curls to get it

Flor L. Delgado: Your so kind and REAL. Thank you for your channel. Always seen just thick hair..... not fair . Be blessed with yours.

Snow Marrero: All of these things that you are saying are true. You have just a little bit more hair than I do but everything that you have said I do and it does work.:)

Deidre Mitchell: Super helpful

Hema Singh: Do you guys recommend shea moisture products for fine curly hair? If yes, which line?

Farah Haroon: I have been looking for a curl-friendly absorbent towel drape for the shoulders for wet curly styling. Can you specify if the shoulder towel you use in this video is the RePear towel…or is there a product you can recommend? Thank you!

discs platinum: ive struugled for years with my thin, low density hair. normal shampoo is way too harsh, cleansing conditioners too heavy and left residue and my curls were almost gone and messy . i was at my wits end, nothing seemed to work. my hair ended up poofy, frizzy , dry, thin and fly away not matter what i did…… until i saw a post online saying that when you apply conditioner you should do it while hair is soaking wet. so iwith my head down so that products went on to underside of my hair i cleansed with cleansing conditioner (normal shamppoi just too harsh), then applied conditioner when really soaking wet and really squeezed the water and conditioner in to my hair. i then rinsed it off and added some castor oil hair product squeezed in to the ends. it looked awful while drying , took ages to dry but once dry it was like different hair, moist , defined bouncy neat curls , no frizz and it looked thick. it was the way i was washing it in the shower rather than the curly hair products.

Ana Paula Monteiro: My hair is just like your. I suffer with it because my curls doesn’t stay :(

Katherine Silva: Hi Gena. Would you recommend the ouidad gel strong hold, red bottle, to thin medium density hair. 2A to 2C pattern? I live on lima Peru where humidity is high?

Simran Chandra: Love your videos

Emily Donaldson: Can you recommend a clarifying shampoo or treatment?

E99: i shampoo my hair every 4 days once. if not it starts to stink and weigh down

Jessika Moore: I struggle so much. Currently I am realizing my hair now no longer likes aloe. It doesn't like glycerin. I am having a hell of a time finding product. I have hair loss on the top front and have to wear most of my hair parted that way to cover it. I show a lot of scalp. I alsp have layers but was always told I need them because all yhe weight is in the bottom and it pulls my roots down. So I don't know what to do.

Nancy Davis: Perfect timing! I have a hair cut appt tmrw

Keli Weis: I have/use the morrocanoil oil curl line. Is that possibly weighing my hair down. I'm a beginner.

Adriana Carr: Great video

Katana Jay: I used olaplex 3 I didn’t see that kind of a difference I’m so frustrated with my hair

KaeyaSimp: lmao i didnt know i had high density hair! i always thought it was thin

Wendy Mullins: Do U co-wash? If yes, what brand do U use? What’s the benefits of co-washing?

Chris: I’m a new subscriber and you may have a video about this but do you ever air dry vs diffuse?

VB: I get flash drying from products with aloe.

Dayroom Trinn: i want thick curly hairno wonder , ima stop getting layers

Domenica Laraspata: So I measured my ponytail and it says 8 centimeters, in inches its 3,15.. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Dp: Your knowledge is very deep and clear i like it so i watched all your vedios. But you tend to say same facts in all of ur vedios over and over again.

REAL Bad Gyal: My curly hair is so thin it goes pin straight when water runs through it. See how you can see her curls when the waters running down... ye mine just looks like straight hair....

Gena Marie: Blog post/cheat sheet is coming soon! Still working on it! Check back soon

Claire E Rodriguez: My hair is low density, fine and wavy
