*Sponsored by The Hunt App! All opinions are my own, this app is seriously amazing!

What'S up guys so today, I'm outside on this beautiful day, I had to come outside they're so gorgeous, but I want to share with you guys today my natural hair essentials. These are like items that I really can't do without items that help me maintain my hair on a daily basis, weekly a monthly basis and really, if I didn't have them I'd kind of be lost to like I wouldn't be able to maintain my hair. So I go through them really quickly and I'm also gon na show you how you can hunt for them using an app if you can't find these items in store or you need to buy them online. So I'm just gon na I have this cute bag that I just brought down for my bathroom and I'm just gon na kind of pick through here, one of my staples curlformers, I'm obsessed with them. They just make my life so much easier. I can straighten and stretch my hair so quickly and also I love the fact that it's heatless I just really like them to make a nice sleek and smooth base in a heat free way. And it's just perfect for the beginning of a twist out or if you want to do like a flexi rod set my ribbon ties like I'm obsessed with these ponytail holders. I use them pretty much every day I sleep in them. I style with that. I love that they're really secure. They hold my hair really well, but they're extremely gentle, because there's no elastic in it. Every time I go to a store. I always pick them up. They sell out quickly. So if you do find them picks them up, because they're really popular and you might not find them again for a while, so you got ta have either your satin scarf or your satin pillowcase. I have both and I have two for different reasons. I usually wear my science scarf, because this is kind of like my go to items I can wear over twist outs or twists or if I'm bunting my hair up at night. It really works on almost anything. The only thing that these don't work well on and that I use my satin pillowcase for is, if I'm wearing a curlformer set, because obviously I can't stretch this over all the rods or like a flexi rod set anytime that I'm setting my hair and rods. And I can't fit a satin scarf over it. I just pick up my satin pillowcase and it protects my hair at night, your beanie caps. These are just a go-to. I mean I wear these in the winter. I wear them in a summer because if I need to leave the house - and my hair isn't done - it's just so easy to pull one of these over your head and just be able to get on with your day. So you're not stuck in the house all day. You definitely want to go with the oversized caps, because it's going to fit over all your hair, you can find them a lot of times during the winter at Target or you can find them on they. Obviously your bobby pins - I mean this is pretty self-explanatory. I don't even think I need to talk about this. If you are gon na get some bobby pins, don't get them at Target, go to a beauty, supply store and get really good quality ones, because will last you longer, but the ones that I use are from Sally's Beauty and they're called meta grit premium bobby pins. An item that I've actually recently started using - and it has been like a game-changer for me like it - makes my life so much easier. It makes time fly is a shower mirror. This is a shower, mirror, they're, extremely inexpensive. You can get one at the dollar store for literally a dollar, so it has these suction cups on the back and you basically just can suction them to the wall and, while you're in the shower, you can see what you're doing while you're doing it, which just Makes life so much easier and not kind of like feeling around and hoping that you get the right thing? You can actually see exactly what you're doing. If you don't have a shower mirror, you need to get a shower, mirror. I'M telling you this is the natural hair essential. This is probably the first thing you get when you become natural, a spray bottle, they're really inexpensive, and it just allows you to apply your product whatever is inside of it really evenly over your hair I'll, put water in this and use this to like refreshed it. Refresh your twist out or stead of twist out or I'll use this in the shower and I'll put aloe vera juice inside of it and I'll just do like a quick spray over my hair before I twist it up. Oh obviously, a spray bottle is an essential. You got to get that so I usually use my fingers to tangle my hair, but there are times when I'm styling my hair, like you know, I need a straight style. I can curl former's or, if I'm doing a roller set or flexi rod set, or something like that, where I really do need to use hair tools like combs and brushes a wide toothed comb. It'S just really a gentle way to comb out your hair, but I also like the double sided. Comb I'll, usually go in. First, with my wide tooth comb and I'll follow it up with the larger side of the double sided comb at these two items in conjunction work really really well to detangle your hair. If you must use a tool on the same note, obviously the Denman brush is a go-to item. Again, if I need further detangling, I can use my Denman brush to really get in there. I do find that it does create a little bit of frizz, so I try to avoid it like, and what I mean you just can't deny the fact that it detangles your hair extremely easily. I modify my Denman brush and I have a tutorial that I'll link right here, for you guys to check out. If you want to see exactly how that's done large shower cap, you want to get one. That'S gon na fit over your entire head, some really inexpensive hair shears. I like to trim my own hair again. I have a tutorial and I'll link it right here for you guys now. These are just really helpful. I don't use these for anything but hair. So don't go cutting paper with these. They have to stay nice and sharp, but it's just really nice to be able to trim your own hair and not rely on. You know a stylist all the time. Also, if you do get, you know a knot in your hair, it happens almost daily. You can grab your shears and just really cut it out. It'S better to do that than to just break it off some duckbill clips, a go-to when styling you want to get plastic ones. I would probably stay away from the metal ones. The plastic ones are gon na, be a lot more gentle on your hair. Some of them can be pretty cheap, so invest in some really good ones that are going to be nice and tight and are gon na actually hold your hair. I find with natural hair because it's so big they can break these like I've. Had these great head scars like this one here I have big ones: big square ones, really small ones, really a great go-to for easy styling like if you have your hair up in a bun one day, you'll spruce up your look or you can cover your entire Head with a larger store and not worry about what kind of hair day you're having one of my most frequent questions that I get is where do you find your head scars? I like to look at department stores, thrift stores. Sometimes you can find a decent one on target. You know a lot of times. You'Re, probably gon na have to look online. So there's this free, app called the hunt that I recently downloaded on my phone and I'm pretty obsessed with it already. So you start a hunt, upload the picture and then other people will look for it for you. I know it's crazy. Hopefully somebody else can find it for you, but I've pretty much been addicted to this app. That is not just limited to tangible items like head scarves or clothing, or accessories I mean you can use this app to look for anything I mean I've seen people searching for hair tutorials people have searched for people who elect Ronix, pretty addicted to it ever since. Putting it on my phone and I've actually helped a couple, people find things already anyway. I don't know if I'm doing it justice by describing it. You just have to download it on your phone and check it out for yourself, because I swear to you it's the most addicting thing ever and it's awesome because you can find things here that you just can't find in store that you would never even think existed. So I actually posted one on my hunt page I'm gon na need some help finding it so make sure you join the hunt and help me out, and I don't want to share with you - we'll probably get you out of a lot of arguments with your significant Other, I know personally, my husband hates it when I clogged the dream with my hair. The first thing is a hair catcher. This one in particular, has been the best one that I've ever tried and I've tried a couple I think about this. One is that you actually remove the top to the drain and stick it inside to block the hole simultaneously. The hair stopper is flush with the bathtub so that any hair that does fall is caught in the combs of the hair. Catcher has been the one that has saved me, the most hair from getting into my drink, and it's really easy to install if you are going to get one and it's not this one, just search for one that does have the option to stick inside of your Drain because the ones that just sit on top it just doesn't do anything if some hair does manage to slip through the cracks probably want to invest in one of these drain, sneaks to just kind of get the hair out a boar, bristle hair brush - and I Was really hesitant to put this in here, I'm not a fan of them for everyday use. I do use them, but I always say that if you're going to use it, you need to use it very gently on your hair and you want to use it sparingly. If I have a style where I really need it smooth back, which is you know me, I like messy style, so that's pretty much almost never. I barely have to use this, but I added this into my essentials because if you do need to sleep, your hair back you're gon na want to use a boar bristle brush. I do them from time to time and if I didn't have this brush, I would be in trouble technically called a plastic processing cap like Suzie's when I'm deep conditioning it just holds the heat in my head and really activates the product or the mixture that I'm Using I also use these if I have a washing go so I'll put this over my hair at night. It gives me a little bit of moisture so that the hair isn't tangling up on itself. If you want to see how I use this to maintain my washing goes I'll link a video right here, where I show how I maintain it throughout five days, using a plastic cap baby toothbrush, it can be a regular toothbrush but a toothbrush. Nonetheless, I just like baby toothbrushes, because they're really saw and they're really small. I just feel like. I have better control over it like to use these. If I'm, you know calming down my edges with a little bit of gel like today, I used it to smooth down my edges. I'M you know if you cannotice, but it just kind of gives you a nice clean finish to your hair. If your edges are kind of going crazy that day, a huge claw clip - this is kind of my go-to item like if I'm lounging around the house and I'm really hot - and I want to put my hair up. I'Ve had this clip for a couple years now. So it's going pretty strong, so yeah! Those are all my natural hair, essential tools that I use on a daily, weekly and monthly basis that really make it super easy for me to style and care for my hair without a lot of flushing. So I hope this video helped you guys. I hope that you found some items here that maybe you don't use that you might want to try to use. Of course, if I can help you guys out in any way, I'm going to, I made two huge bags full of everything that I talked about in this video, though I mean you're getting a lot here, and these items are things that you will. I swear you will use because I have done them so helpful. I know that you will too, oh, the giveaway is obviously open to subscribers. They have to do is like the video and put in the comments. What are your natural hair, essential tools? I want to know what items that you use on a daily, weekly or monthly basis that really help with your haircare. I'M not talking products, I'm talking about hair tools. I really want to know what you guys use, I'm assuming that some of you guys will have some different items that I've never heard of, and maybe I can find some helpful things to use in my hair. So yeah, let me know below that's how you can enter and I'll announce the winners on my Facebook page in my Instagram and my Twitter, and also in the comments section of this video on June 7th, which is a week from today. So I didn't put the word giveaway in the title, because I don't want the scammers to come and find you guys so just know that I'm not going to be emailing out anybody, a saying that you want so don't look for any emails from me. I'M going to only announce it on my facebook, my Twitter, my Instagram and in the comment section of this video right at the top alright. So I hope that this video helped guys so I'll see you guys next time like what the heck, okay, there's mad bugs around me right now: okay, okay, I respect you nature. I respect you huh yeah get out of here. I don't know! I don't know if I could do it, I don't know if I could do it, I didn't kill it. I just brushed it away with my foot all right, dude seriously. Let'S go let's go through this quickly. Okay, this is not a good idea. The huge queen bee just buzzing around me right now. Okay, I can't I got ta. Go I got ta go, I got ta go. I got ta, go faster. Okay ready went to the wrong territory. All you

Dana Rae: A travel neck pillow... weird I know. LOL. I use it whenever I  put my hair in rollers, curlformers, bantu knots, flexirods, etc. Any style that is hard to lay my head down at night. It props my head up high enough that I can sleep comfortably. I've been doing this for YEARS. It works wonders and prevents a crabby Dana in the morning.

T'keyah B: My satin bonnet and scarf are essentials for me. As well as my spray bottle !

Lindsey Burnside: Thanks for the opportunity to win your favorites, Whitney! My essential tools are of course the spray bottle, gentle hair ties, giant clips for separating sections, and my silk scarves. I've always wanted to try curlformers, I'll have to look into that dupe you just reviewed!

Tierra Dunwoody: Hi Whitney!!! I absolutely love all your channels and have learned so much about taking care of my hair :) My current hair essentials are 1. my fingers, 2. spray bottle, 3. bobby pins and 4. satin scarf/satin pillowcase. However, I'm sure this list will change once I get my hands on some of your essentials from the video! Many blessings to you and your beautiful family

Grow n glow: Hi Whitney!! Thank you so much for all of your videos, your tutorials have been essential in bringing my hair back to health! My hair essentials are my satin and silk scarves, bobby pins, hair ties, hair clips, my shower cap, spray bottle, applicator bottle, and my ten digits ( fingers)!! Thanks again for everything!!!

heyrenae33: Hi! I've been natural for about two years now. I am still pretty young so I have a lot to learn, but here are the staple styling tools that I use. I use a wide tooth comb with a shower hook (which I recommend if you detangle in the shower, its very convenient!). My spray bottle, I use it to refresh my hair or sometimes I put an oil mix in it to moisturize my hair. Ouchless head bands to style with since they don't snag my hair, satin scarf, and of course bobby pins! (which I paint to spice them up a bit) XoXo

Shateecia Jones: Hi Whitney!!  Thanks for the videos, they have been so helpful to me during my journey :)  Daily: satin scarf, satin bonnet, water bottle, bobby pins, headbands and pony tail holders (humidity can make a good hair day turn into a bad one by the time I get to work, lol) and fingers Weekly: fingers, wide tooth comb, modified denman brush, bonnet hair dryer, plastic cap, hair clips and water bottle Also, can you make a video on how often you should deep condition your hair and give yourself hot oil treatments?  I have color in my hair and can't keep my ends moisturized to save my life.

Sequoia Ridley: Hey Whitney! I am a college student who has learned to keep the amount of my styling tools to a minimum! I always use my satin bonnet every night, bobby pins of course, hair clips and elastic bands for when I am parting my hair, my wide tooth comb (occasionally) when I am detangling. I usually use my floral plastic shower cap when I shower and I always use a oversize tee shirt to dry my hair after washing :D   X.O

brittchanel84: I love using my satin bonnet, Bobby pins, wide tooth comb and perm rods (for a curly look) thanks for the giveaway Whitney!

Emma Mbaba: Hi Whitney! Thanks so much for all your videos. They are really helpful and truly inspiring! My essential hair tools include bobby pins, comb clips, my wide toothed comb, banana clips, perm rods, and flexi rods. I would really like to try curlformers but I can't find them for a good price anywhere. Thanks so much! -Emma

Letoria Bennett: I went natural the beginning of this month so the only products that I now have on hand are spray bottle, wide tooth comb, silk big rubber bands clips, 14-1 Hawaiian silky miracle worker, Bobby pins and hair push-backers.:-)

Nicole: I have been very simple with my hair tools but would like to explore new things! Wide hair scrunchies and a silk scarf are my two most essential hair tools. Occasionally I use bobby pins, wide tooth combs, head bands or hair clips Thanks Naptural for all the great tips and tutorials! :)

bballcheercoach: Love this video!!! I am really simple when it comes to my hair. Spray bottle, boddy pins, slim bristle brush, and a banana clip (the one from the 80s) for all my styles! Yes, that's all the tools I use daily!

AmberNicole: Hi Whitney! I can't do this journey without my disposable plastic caps for deep conditioning, plastic hair clips to section/hold my hair in place, a spray bottle, satin scarfs/night caps, a wide tooth comb, and bobby pins. Thank you for sharing this video and your generous giveaways!!!!

Deme Caldwell: Loved the video!!! I can't live with out my curlformers and plastic rollers for huge Afros and of course my handy pick!! Also I love my soft hood hair dryer that speeds up my hair drying process!

Corie: Hello Whitney, I know this is an old video, but I've been natural for 3 years now and I have made very little progress in terms of growth and sticking to a regimine. As a result, I am going back to basics with my hair care and learning what kinds of tools or essentials to purchase. This video is very helpful and Oh Boy, I am guilty of purchasing elastic ponytail holders, metal clips, and all of the things we should not use on our hair. Thanks for the video!!

Shiekah Hannah: I'm just starting my natural hair journey. Thank you for your videos! They are so informative. I made the flax seed gel yesterday and I love it. I will be on the lookout for these tools you mentioned when I go out. Thank you again.

April Bravo: Hi Whitney :) Thank you for all the posts that you've done for all of us, because I know there are so many of us who have grown so much and learned so much from watching your videos. My essential tools of my hair life are quite a bunch! Some are the same from your essentials just because a natural can't do without them ;) My #1 important is my spray bottle, it's made my life heaven for how it evenly distributes and thins out my products, so I can apply the exact amount I need. #2 Satin pillow because my hair would look like a haystack every morning if I still used my cotton pillow cases! It keeps my hair smooth since my hair never stays during the night with satin scarves. #3 My shower cap simply for deep conditioning, I do my deep conditioning in the shower because of all the steamy heat of the shower. I wouldn't be able to get the most effective deep condition without shower cap that helps create an even higher heat barrier for my hair. #4 My T-shirt for drying my hair, I only use two in particular that are really soft, they really absorb water well and reduces the crazy frizzies! #5 Nozzle nose bottle for shampoo. Because I wash my hair in twists that are braided together making four sections, it's hair to get my shampoo directly to my scalp. The nozzle nose tip helps me apply my shampoo directly to my scalp while avoid the length part of my hair. #6 Hair scissors that are only for hair, to make sure I'm getting a clean cut for my trims. #7 Black rubber bands, specifically because a lot of my quick go to styles require rubber bands, especially for banded ponytailed styles. #8 Bobby Pins to pin down my hair when its trying to get feisty with me lol. #9 Stretch rubber headbands, because they also double up as hair bands, so they are a two in one. I can use it as a head band when wearing my hair down, and I can put it up as well! #10 Claw clamps to help maintain my sections, they can hold a lot of hair, and I can also create enough tension with them so I can keep my parts visible. #11 DIY hair flowers, I've been making them before I became natural, but I use them a lot for styling and pining my hair back for different formal styles. I simply hot glue long bobby pins to the ends of fake flowers, it saves a lot of money too lol. #12 My 18 inch ruler, I know that sounds strange, and not fully sure if its a tool, but I like using a stick ruler for measuring my hair more than measuring tape because the ruler stays straight and all I do is pull my hair down lol. I measure biannually or  triannually (not a word). And it has 6 extra inches on it so I don't have to move further down and remember the spot where the 12 inches end. #13 My flexi rods, I only put this at the bottom because I live in a high humid climate and already use humectants so any out-style doesn't last long. Also I  only recently started using them so I can't say I've used them a lot. (your video got me to give it try!) but I love how it keeps my hair separated in a way to where I can do another style quickly and simply with them. Plus they give beautiful results! I use the same diameter flexi rods as the perm rods that you use because I LUV that size and look; however, my hair doesn't smooth down AT ALL for perm rods lol. I wish I could use them though. #14 Last and sort of least, but not forgotten is wide tooth and denman. I put them two in one just because they serve a similar purpose for my hair: last resort detangling. I haven't used my denman in about 2 years! However, I will never get rid of it because it does work well. But my hair is thinner and not high density so it doesn't survive regular detangling with tools well. But basically I use them both by layers: if fingers don't work, get the comb, if comb doesn't work, get the denman lol. These are my essentials for life! The fit my hair, my life, and my style preferences, so I don't plan on ever taking any of those out of the equation; but, I'm always open to more things (aka: shower mirror, hair catcher for shower and using decorative hair scarves) ;) Thank you so much for reading! Please never stop posting! And thank you for all the hair issues you've helped me conquer over the years :)

MrsMoody11: Hi Whit! Thanks for the giveaway :) My favorite hair tools are my satin bonnet, Denman Brush, bobby pins, handheld mirror, Ouchless Hair Ties, and my fingers! I definitely use my handheld mirror ALL of the time to make sure I don't have any random parts running through the back of my hairstyle :)

Reign Check: I recently just did my BIG CHOPP!! 2 days ago! And I must say.... the Bobby Pins... an essential for styling a twa!! I'm currently looking into turbans or beanies!! You are such an inspiration!!

Lynne B: My essential items for my natural hair are satin bonnets satin pillow cases, my tangle tamer brush , processing caps, spray bottles, wide tooth Comb, snap clips, bobby pins, and sectioning clips. Just to name a few. I probably missed a few things

Cee Boyd: Thank you for this video Whitney. It was extremely helpful. My necessary hair tools are of course some that you mentioned in addition to a wide tooth shower comb (it has a hook that hangs from the shower), an old cut up cotton tee shirt for drying my hair instead of a towel (helps stop breakage) , plastic hair clips, plastic cape (so I don't get soaked), scrunchies, cloth headbands, plastic head combs, clips and flowers (for styling) and a blow dryer with defuser (cool setting helps dry was & goes). Hope I win. Thanks again.

They Call the Wind: My natural hair essential tools are my spray bottle and satin bonnet! Those are the only two things I use every single day. Bobby pins and my wide toothed comb are weekly essentials, and I'd never make it through wash day without scrunchies!  Thanks a lot for doing this, Whitney! I know we all appreciate you taking the time to help us as much as possible! <3

Creative Hippy: Awesome supplies! My essentials are Goody Ouchless elastics, as well as their Spin Pins. Also in my stash is the Tangle Tamer brush from Sally's, applicator bottles (for easy oil scalp massages), old t-shirts to dry my hair, baby hair brushes, and lobster-claw clips... The rest of my essentials are quite similar to yours, though!

acarro01: Hello :) I have been following you for about a year now. Your videos have truly inspired me. I have two favorite natural hair tools. The first is the Tangle Teezer. I find that for tough knots (sometimes if I slack on keeping my hair detangled, I get dreads!) it helps to gently remove them with little to no hair breakage. It seems like its not ideal for natural hair because of the hundreds of tiny teeth, but it truly does work for those difficult knots. The second product I like is Talenti Gelato jars lol. I keep them and wash them and store my shea butter, my mixtures, and even my bobby pins/hair ribbons in them. They make great convenient storage containers!

It's Kareen: My Curly hair Essentials are my Wide tooth comb, bobby pins, Shea butter/coconut oil, Denman brush, Conditioner & Satin Scarf Kiwi..x

A. Ori: Hey Whit! Love your videos! As far as tools, I use the following on a regular: 1. Spray bottle 2. Satin bonnet 3. Denman brush 4. Bobby pins 5. Claw clips 6. Afro Pick comb 7. Color Applicator bottle And more. ...

Walkiria Gonzalez: Hi Whitney, I just want to say I really love your videos; they are really helpful and informative. My natural hair essential tools that I use are my fingers, a wide-tooth comb, rat-tail comb, boar-bristle brush, ouch-less scrunchies, satin scarf, satin head band, bobby pins, metal clips, butterfly clips, claw clips, shower cap, processing cap, and spray bottle.

Khristina Cassanova: Hi Whitney! I'm writing for my older sister. I already said my essential tools, however I wanted to write this for my sister who is going off to college. She has been a natural for over a year now. She has a few items like a wide tooth comb, a spray bottle, bobby pins, and a satin scarf. But that is pretty much it. I think if she won the giveaway then she would have the tools she needs and would not have to spend money she does not have.

She's A Twin: Hey Whitney I just wanted to say I love all your videos from your channels. My favorite hair tools for my natural hair are a spray bottle, a shower comb, a modified denman brush, butterfly clips, a brush, and a wide tooth comb. I also like to use old t-shirts to dry my hair, conditioning caps to deep condition and a satin scraf and pillowcase for nighttime. Thanks for everything you do and for having a great personality!!!

Naptural85: CONGRATULATIONS to [YouTube Screennames] Shirley Cadet and Magdala347!! I'm sending you both a stacked bag FULL of all my favorite Hair Tool Essentials! Please send me a message, through YOUTUBE messaging, by next Saturday June 14th, with the address you would like me to ship it to! If I don't hear from you by the 14th I will pick another winner. Congrats again! Xo!

De Vine Linx: Loved listening to your list. My list is pretty basic. I use hair grips for sectioning my hair, a bristle brush for when my hair is up, a shoe lace for wearing my puffs, my wide tooth comb I've had for over 10 years, my spray bottle, Afro pick for giving my bko a lift, hair pins, lots of scarfs both thin and thick and an old chop stick for mixing my products.

Mya F: I'm a 16 year old long term transitioner and one of my absolute favorite hair essentials is a satin bonnet. I use my satin bonnet almost everyday. Another one of my favorite hair essentials is a spray bottle. I love the fact that you can put whatever you want in it and it makes it easier to apply things to your hair. A wide tooth comb is another thing I think I couldn't live without because it provides a gentle and effective way to detangle my thick hair.

Cherry Dee: Learning about my hair has been a journey, especially these last few months where I have experienced hair loss as a result of my Graves' disease. Through this I have learned to really care for not only my hair but my body. My hair styling must haves that saved me are: curl rods, large thin head bands (I use them to sculpt my bun), spray bottles and applicators, and my satin pillow case. I would love to win this giveaway, thank you for offering it to your subscribers.

Naptural85: Double-Dose Saturday!!! New Upload! #NaturalHair <3 My Favorite Natural Hair Styling Tools | Curly Hair Essentials Xo!! <3

MissJoBiggs: My essential hair tools are my fingers (!!!), EVOO, a good conditioner with lots of slip (I.e. TJ's Tea Tree Tingle), satin scarf, and stretchy headbands that work as hair ties too. Love this channel! It has taught me just about everything I have needed to know about my natural hair. Keep the great posts coming Naptural ;)

Toni Marie Bullock: The "Roots Only" applicator bottle from Sally is my favorite, favorite, favorite hair tool. After seeing this video my new favorite tool is a shower mirror! I should have gotten one sooner. It is genius! I also love satin bonnets, denman brushes, nozzle tip applicator bottles. Pick me :)

PrettyLilSmile: Something you haven't mentioned in this video that really helps me are applicator bottles to distribute product to my hair and scalp, especially during wash sessions. If I don't use an applicator bottle, it's a measuring cup. Perm or flexi rods are great when I want to style my twists or braids with an extra curl.

Samantha Please: Loved this video! I am really into using wide tooth combs on my hair. It makes it easier to separate the hair and it tugs less because my hair is really thick and I broken several combs. I use flexi rods sometimes to stretch my hair. I also use curvy snap clips to hold my hair up when I sleep and wrap it with satin scarfs. I use the curvy clip though because unlike a straight bobby pin, the curvy clip doesn't leave lines in my hair and it gives my ends a slight wave which isn't too bad.

Zett O: Out of all the natural hair channels I like yours the most

Dee Lite: Hi Whitney. Thanks for sharing your essentials. My essentials are flexirods and perm rods at the moment. Because I'm transitioning (18mths post relaxer) I NEED these tools to curl my hair.  I also use a satin scarf and pillowcase to protect my hair at night. I've recently bought a head steamer which is great for DC which I do at least once a week to keep my hair moisturised. For my sets I use a wide tooth comb and rat tail to really smooth out my hair before I roll it. Would be really cool to win this giveaway - being "naturally curly" is not easy in a country like New Zealand because there just isn't a market here so hardly any products or tools... I'm importing most of my products already.

Filofaxfinds: Hi Whitney! I like to use my rat tail comb for creating even parts and i also love to use the stretch ties, i get mine on etsy they have tons of colors and patterns :)

Schenell Southwell: As I'm just starting out on my natural hair journey, I've tried to keep my tools simple (really simple): - goody wide tooth comb - goody two sided comb - afro pick - two sided boat bristle brush - clear plastic shower caps - satin bedtime scarf - satin pillow case that is always on even with the scarf - spray bottle - fingers, fingers, fingers Great ideas re the clips and bear claw but I'm still rocking a TWA, so hopefully as I gain some length I can add these to my list. Thanks for sharing!

Jasmine Riggins: I've been transitioning for almost 8 months now and I find that my most used tools are my hands, bobby pins, my spray bottle, hair bands, giant hair clips, and plastic bags for deep conditioning! I feel like its not nearly as much as listed in the video haha but maybe that will change as I continue my hair journey.

cadettipk: Loveeeeeeeeeeeeee your hair girl!

Fenettra Birdwell: Hey there Whitney!! I live in lovely Colorado and I went natural March of this year. I LOVE IT. My products that I am using are from a line called Elasta QP. I used their products even when my hair was relaxed it is so gentle.Right now I do the LOC method with their Leave in conditioner and water,Olive oil Mango growth oil, and their Olive oil Mango butter. I also have the Economy styling gel with Argan Oil for the days that I want to rock a messy look. I wash my hair with Aveeno baby shampoo that has NO harmful chemicals. So far so good. I started watching your videos last year around June and you inspired me to cut it off. I love Olivia by the way. My daughter was born the same year on November 6th. Anyway there are some of my tools of beauty. Keep the videos coming. BYE!

miss vepi: Hi Witney, thank you for sharing your essentials! I can't live without my bobby pins, my satin bonnet, my satin pillow case  and my spray bottle  !

Zenni: Great Video! My Natural "go to" tools have been my spray bottle, plastic comb and bobby pins. After watching this video, I can now step my tool game up with these tips <3 Thank You!

Christa Wentt: I have mostly the same essentials, with the addition of my satin bonnet, my headbands (the elastic kind and the DIY ones you did a video on, thanks girl!), and an applicator bottle for when I oil my scalp.

Mish - Simple Beauty Secrets RevealedTM: Everything you mentioned is probably going to sell out now lol thanks ^_^

Yolanda Perez: Thank you for the video & the super cool contest! My 'must have' tools are definitely Bobby Pins, wide toothed comb & the various flower pins to decorate my hair :)

Sonda Bell: I love this video, it's very informative so THANK YOU! I have 3 daughters and we are all natural so there are tools that are REQUIRED in my house: Denman Brush, water bottle, hair clips and last but not least, the shower hose (lifesaver).

twin2289: My natural hair tools: fingers (detangling), hair clips (sectioning my hair), and bobby pins (styling)! Very minimal, but always maximum results!

Merrilyn Yeboah: I've been following your channel since I first had my big chop and so, I basically use the tools you use. I intend to incorporate a new tool into my regimen however: a shower filter. I have heard a lot about how it helps hair health so I'll try it.

Faith L: My essential natural hair tool is my Swiffer Sweeper for cleaning up all of the stray hair! LOL!!

A Atkins: Hey Nap85; love the video and the vibe outside gives it. My hair essential tools consist of: spray bottle, small bowl-like container for mixing, wide tooth comb, and medal clips; (I haven't been able to find the plastic ones you have). Thanks for the video and all you do for the natural hair community!

Marvalinn: One of my favorite hair styling tools is my detangling hair pick.  All aren't created equal. My sister sent me a few from Georgia and it reduces breakage when I'm detangling my hair, also my square silk scarf. Had it for years and it looks that way too, but I love it! :-)

Tashannmarie: Hey! For me what I like to use when I dry my hair after washing is a clean t-shirt. I also like to use. One of my favorite go to hair tools are my PERM RODS when I do twist outs and flat twists. I love the way my hair turns out :). As all naturals, my satin bonnet, bobby pins, and shower cap lol. :)

J T: Amazing video, nice to use as a hair tool reference. I'm 14 I've been natural for a couple years (not sure how many though lol) but I started TAKING CARE of my hair naturally somewhere June- August 2014. I really hope to get most, if not all if these. They're all on my 'Natural Hair Checklist' My goal is APL to BSL and you've been and awesome guide and resource. I'd probably be lost without you and someother natural YTers. Thank you so much!

Priscilla White: Thanks for sharing!! LOVE my curlformers, they're a great treat! Got them after your first curlformers video and have loved them since. I'm lost without my satin scarf. I use it every night or before special events for smoothing updo styles. My spray bottle is phenom. Before I got it I'd use the sink and try to get the right amount of water without over saturating my hair. With the spray bottle it's perfect every time. I used to detangle with my modified Denman every couple of days. As my hair grew longer I switched to just my fingers. I still use my Denman whenever I use curlformers, though. Lastly, just bought a boar bristle brush and am really digging the smooth and shiny look I get.

Juss Liv.: Hey , Whitney ! My hair care essentials are a paddle brush , wide-toothed comb , lots of bobby pins , satin scarves , and plastic caps . The paddle brush and the wide-toothed comb combined really make detangling a breeze . They also help make my hair appear shinier without the use of lots of oil . Bobby pins are the ultimate life-saver , especially when my hair just isn't cooperating that day . Satin scarves help smooth down my edges without having to use edge control or gel on them . And they also protect my hair from the wildness of my sleep . Plastic caps really help the hair to absorb the conditioner . I absolutely love my plastic caps. Well , that's all . Hope you pick me ! :)

FavorriteEthiopian: I love using curl formers to stretch my hair too! & I like to use a wide tooth comb to detangle. I want to try flexi rods on my hair soon. Thanks for the giveaway :)

Netty Myrick: Ever since viewing your aloe vera juice video, I have been in love with it! It's like the one thing that moisturizes my hair and is truely a life-saver. I also always have to have coconut oil in my bathroom. It was hard finding a good oil for transitioning hair, but coconut oil works on both my new growth and relaxed ends which is awesome! Thanks for all your videos, they truely have helped me during this journey. <3

Empress Ary: Something that I definitely use is a rat tooth comb, because i love messy styles but I also love a clean part. I'm so glad that I watched this video because it was so helpful. Thank you girl you're the best... stay beautiful.

Nicole Eggebraaten: The water bottle has really been my essential tool along with my satin cap(s). Can't live without them. Also, containers with lids for my mixtures and my hair pick! I'm going from TWA to something a li'l more, so I like to (gently) pick out my hair sometimes. The stretchy headbands are a must for me and bit sized claw clips. Those little claw clips are so helpful! My silk scarves hide my crazy hair days...Of course, I have those "deep conditioning" plastic caps and the rat tail comb for parting (enough mostly, I part with my fingers) Wow. Now that I think about it, I use a ton of stuff!!

Christine Lavoie: Backpacking through Southeast Asia for the past 4 months has proved my minimal natural hair tools to be truly essential! The tools that I cannot live without are: -patterned satin scarf which dubs as a headband -stretched out ouchless headband to gently smooth out my edges to give me my best poof -small spray bottle for hydration -my 10 little fingers for the best detangling -last but not least my iphone to stream videos for new styles, techniques, and haircare ideas Hoping for this goody bag to help with my new growth needs :)

SILVER_TRESSES: It's so BEAUTIFUL! of you to extend your generosity with yet another giveaway. I'm still developing my favorite hair tools. I use a Double tooth detangling comb but not so much since learning and developing the patience to finger detangle, the black Denman brush only on the ends of my hair to facilitate the curl, a slender bristle boar brush to smooth edges and create the perfect ponytail, a brush cleaner from sally's, applicator/ spray bottle, Bobby pins, hair clips, I use decorative bracelets

Riah's Daughter: I currently have yarn braids and my favourite hair tools at the moment are a stretchy headband which I also use as a ponytail holder and my satin pillow case :)

divinesuccess09: My tool essentials include: 1) my fingers!!! 2) spray bottle 3) bobby/hairpins 4) banana clip and 5) my plastic cap or satin bonnet for bed time... These are all I absolutely need as far as tools go to maintain and whip my hair into shape! Thanks for the giveaway - hope I win!!!

Amaya McKoy: I've only been natural for about 7 months now and I'm still in the TWA phase but so far my essential tools are: Bobby pins Duck clips Wide tooth comb Beanies Toothbrush Spray bottle for my water Applicator bottle for my oil

Lilyz Dove: Thank you so much for the great video. I am still struggling a little with different products and tools to use on my hair so your video really helped me get a little bit of a good idea of things that are good to use. Right now the tool I use that really helps me out a lot is my shower comb. I love how it is really easy to use and goes through my hair without tearing it when it is wet or dry. The ends of the teeth are shaped like little balls and it doesn't pull out my hair. The other essential tool for me would definitely be my satin pillow case. I am a wild sleeper and it is good to have it when I am moving around, although I have only been able to find a light pink one at target and that pink color is not good for my sheets as it tends to bleed when I sweat so I definitely need to find another color.

Lydia Kiros: I regularly use hair ties, (just got into the ribbon ones!), wide tooth comb as well as a hair pick, satin scarf, double comb hair tie, headbands, and bobby pins! Most of what I use has been because of what I've seen you use!:)

allo bonjour: Hey Whitney, long time subscriber from Montreal, Canada here :). So my curly hair essentials are my denman brush, my satin scarf, my satin pillow case and my spray bottle. That's pretty much it. I looooove your videos btw :)

Yisel-YAAZ: Love, love, love your videos . My 2 main natural hair essentials are a spray bottle( I mix all my fav oil with water- a quick moisturizer) and beanie hats(I work in a lab so fashion is not really a big deal).

shuana101: HEY WHITNEY!!!!! First off I have to say I LOVE ALL of your videos and I feel like we are friends in my head lol. My favorite hair tools or must have hair tools for my natural hair include: deman brush, shower comb, old t-shirt (to dry my hair after washing it), hair clips, scissors, hair ties, bobby pins, satin cap/scarfs, mirror and a brush . Thanks for always thinking about your subscribers♥♥♥

Jessika Umeda: I love your hair in this style! :].. I transitioned for 2 years and have been fully natural for about 3 months :D. My staple hair tools are definitely a spray bottle, a rat tail comb for parts for an updo or to get a nice middle or side part, hair clips or duck clips, tonss of bobby pins, and strong ponytail holders. :] <3

Mel O Elle: The tangle teezer is a life-saver!  It cut down my detangling by an hour.   I also use butterfly clips in my hair to make sectioning easier.

Bri Fitzpatrick: I love my jumbo satin bonnet. It's crazy big so all my hair fits! Also I love big stretchy "ouchless" headbands/ nylons for puffs.

Cherised-Isi: Thank you for this post! I use these tools often for myself and my daughters: Spray bottle, wide-tooth comb, bobby pins, shower cap, satin cap or scarf (crucial!!!!), hair brush, I use rattail (we braid a lot) and hair ties.

Fran Howze: I love the baby tooth brush, pillow case, scarf and shower caps. Thanks for the helpful vid!!!

All Praises To TMH: I think its awesome you're giving this give away. I've been without my locs for almost 3 years now for dance reasons (it will be three in Oct.) Its hard being a ballet dancer and being natural without straightening your hair. Anyway thanks so much and your videos have been a help to me over the years.

nvrmeant: A spray bottle was my first purchase as a natural! Too funny. I use a lot of the products mentioned in the video, but coconut oil is probably my favorite. It's so versatile, and not just for hair!

HaiLuoYin: Thanks for those tips, I'm adding those ribbon ties to my shopping list, I use a satin pillow case, shower caps, headbands, bobby pins, lots of shea butter and of course my spray bottle. Every once in a while I use my wide tooth comb but I try to avoid it.

Precious Me: My equipment I can't live without for my hair are my clips, bobby pins (the silver ones I use as hair flair! Lol)and my wide tooth comb!!! My scarfs and pillow cases are a daily must have!! My bonnet dryer for deep conditioning is also a must! It's in a cute portable case so I can set it up in any room or take it with me when I'm out if town. Other than that I try to keep things pretty simple.

myfriendandI: I love my multicolored bobby pins! I criss cross them into my buns as part of my hairstyles. And of course my plastic caps, scarves, and denman. I love slick styles so a fine tooth comb is a great alternative to the bristle brush.

Elizabeth Moore: Hi Whitney. I went all natural and did a big chop on December 10, 2015. I have watched many tutorials and videos and always love your spirit and little cute sense of humor. My main tools are satin scarfs and wraps, pillow cases, spray bottle, conditioning cap, cotton tee shirt, hair pins, and my fingers. I absolutely cannot do without these tools in my arsenal.

Rachael Edmonds: I LOVE my spray bottle, my toothbrush and my satin scarf which is what I use while I have protective styles in like the senegalese twists I have in now. On my free hair my wide tooth comb, bobby pins, satin bonnet, and my 10 fingers are my go-to tools. I LOVE LOVE LOVE you Naptural !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shandrea P.: I don't use a lot of different items on my hair, but I do use some of the ones you discussed. I use the spray bottles, satan cap/scarf or pillowcase and shower caps everyday for sure. I also use the denman brush (modified that is :)), wide tooth comb, bobby pins, shears to trim my hair, and clips.

Christina Jennings: I like the croc clips when I'm sectioning my hair and there's this rattail comb/brush that I use when it's been over a week of no detangling. It has 3 rows of teeth (not too small) and they help get the kinks out before I wash. I also like the satin bonnets for when I sleep at night.

Mazing Mane: Love your videos !! I am 3 years natural and have been subscribed to you for majority if not the whole time. I have really minimized the tools I use in my hair. I mainly use my hands but aside from that, I use a rat tail comb to make even part in sections where I plan on having a visible parts and I use my hands for the rest. I use a toothbrush aswell to crate a clean look but like you I also prefer the more natural and free look. I also use a hair dryer for my deep conditions(the hose and cap)

ToBeContinued: This is my first of these so I am pretty excited, lol. I'm basically a broke student so majority of my essential tools are makeshift items. For the most part, my main tools are similar to many who have listed their own.One method that has become my main essential tool is putting water in an old body spray bottle. It really helps me to maintain moisture when transitioning b/w styles but it also gives me more control as to how much water gets on my hair ( so as to prevent it from reverting). I use regular plastic grocery/shopping bags for deep conditioning, but if for some reason I have to go out in the time that I am deep conditioning, I rely on my African print head scarfs and regular satin scarfs for a quick head wrap/turban style to head out. I just twist my hair into 8 twists and pin them on top of my head under the bag, so as to give some shape to the head wrap style.

Dyani Dykes: Love love love your hair! My favorite tool is the denman brush. It detain goes my hair and gives me excellent curl definition. Finger detangling doesn't do much for me(doesn't get all my tangles and leaves my hair frizzy) so as a natural I can't live w/o my denman.

Asadie Walters: Hey Whit, thanks for the giveaway. My essential hair tools are the spray bottle (I don't think I do anything without my spray bottle), clips, a wide tooth comb and my satin scarf :)

aaliyahsmommy1608: Hey Whitney! I would be lost without my spray bottle! I must have bobby pins, head scarf, which I use stretchy satin fabric from jo-anns fabric store, so I can cut it to the size I need (comes in handy with curlformer sets). Recently, curlformers have become an important part in my routine, just to keep my hair stretched for quick and easy styling. Thank you for sharing your frequently used hair tools with us, I will be picking up a mirror for my shower!

Jazzadeful: I always need my butterfly clips to keep my hair separated while doing twists. I go crazy when I can't find them :) Thanks for all your guidance over the years, it has really informed my natural journey.

TheJessinator1009: Definitely bobby pins, first and foremost! I honestly use a lot of things that you suggest. My mom and I have been in love with your homemade hair products and often bond while making them together. Curlformers, lots of headbands and bonnets. Spray bottle, wide tooth combs. But I am constantly experimenting and trying new things, natural hair is always evolving, so you have to be able to stay with it, I always thought it was easier to maintain until I did it. It's not easy, but I've never loved my hair more! Thank you for being my natural hair guru and always somehow being one step ahead of my hair!!! LoL!

The Kye Medley Brand: Thank you for sharing your go to tools. It is very much appreciated. The tools that I love to use for my hair are a wide tooth comb for my detagling. I like to use my spray bottle with my moisturizing mixture. I like to use my satin bonnet for my nightly hair protection. I like to use my flowers when I am wearing my twist outs or braid outs. I love love love my scarfs. I use my hair pins to secure my hair when I do certain styles. And I love my clips for sectioning my hair.

Donisha E.: The natural hair tools I use are my spray bottle, wide tooth comb, almond oil, and a silk scarf is best to me. I also love using my applicator bottle. It comes in handy when I do my apple cider vinegar rinse on my hair . I always wanted to try out the curlformers and denman brush .

hello: I recently started my natural hair journey again back in March and my go-to hair tools are bobby-pins, plastic claw clips I use to section my hair, and a spray bottle that actually works!

thacute193: I'm currently transitioning but I'll be 1 year into my transition on June 29th :) My essential tools are my satin pillowcase/bonnet and my flexirods. I don't know what I would do without them! my flexirods allow me to achieve curly styles and straight roots without applying heat.
