HOW TO USE FOAM ROLLERS:

Step 1: Make sure hair is freshly washed or close to freshly washed (mine was 1 day after wash day.)

Step 2: Lightly dampen hair with spray bottle. Apply products to dampened hair. I used a pea sized amount of Cantu Curl cream on the shaft and ends of my hair.

Step 2a. No matter what you do, be sure to apply a liberal amount of mousse. Focus this on the shaft of the hair as well as the hairline. Use the mousse to smooth any fly aways along the hairline to reduce frizz as much as possible.

Step 3: Section hair for rollers. I do two sections on the top of my head, two sections on either side of my head, and two sections on the back of my head.

Step 4: Soak all foam rollers in water. Before applying to hair, ring each roller out and dry using a dish towel.

Step 5: Apply the foam rollers to sectioned hair (I used the 1" rollers in my set.) Be sure to keep the ends and the shaft of the hair lying flat against the roller. Do not pull, tug, or forcefully insert the rollers as these actions cause unbearable frizz.

Step 6: Tie a satin scarf around the rollers or wear a satin bonnet. Leave rollers in for 6-10 hours. In my opinion, they are quite comfortable to sleep in.

Step 7: Gently unravel all rollers without excessive tugging or pulling.

Step 8: Comb through curls and separate them using fingers. Be sure to shake the hair out multiple times.

Step 9: Create pin curls if desired.

Step 10: Take on the day!

ADDITIONAL TIPS:

If you still have frizz after following these steps, feel free to apply additional mousse to the end result. The mousse with smooth frizz without making the curls appear crunchy. Feel free to tease hair at the root for additional volume. Personally I avoid this as I am in the process of growing out my hair.

Hello, internet friends, your favorite, cynical capricorn here to bring you a foam roller tutorial. Now i have fine thin and curly hair. Basically, all of the worst hair genetics. You could possibly imagine, and i love the look of a foam roller set. I think it is so glamorous chic classic grandma, which i'm here to tell you. I am your grandma. When i search foam roller sets on youtube. I often come across videos with individuals who have beautiful, luscious long, thick straight hair. My intent today is to show you how to do a foam roller set on fine thin hair and how to get absolutely no frizz. You may not be into the pinup. Look, that's totally fine. I would still advise you to watch the video, because a foam roller set can provide you with a dependable and reliable curl. There'S nothing worse when you are getting ready in the morning and your hair will not cooperate and you got to get out the door and you have things to do in your day. A foam roller set can give you a reliable hairstyle. If you like this sort of content, please consider liking and subscribing, i would greatly appreciate it and now, let's hop in to the tutorial, so i'm starting with day old hair, it's preferable if you use freshly washed hair, but since i'm not, i will be dampening it And adding a little bit of product, my favorites, of course, are the cantu curl cream for a little bit of moisture on the ends and the shaft and plenty of mousse, i'm using tresemme here and you'll, see that i'm focusing it on my hairline. The mousse is the key ingredient to reducing the frizz in this foam. Roller set so take a nice generous amount and apply it to all of your head, as well as the hairline. Now i'm using a foam roller set from target and i'll be using the one inch size. My trick here is to take a bowl of water. Take all of the foam pieces put them in the water, wring them out dry them with a dish towel and insert them back into the plastic piece. This will give you a slightly dampened foam roller. Now i'm taking my front section of hair and i'm going to show you that you want to roll it going directly down. Don'T do it in the front, don't do it in the back, try to stay as straight and parallel to your head as possible. Now i'm taking the foam roller and i'm not applying any pressure, i'm just simply rolling the strand of hair directly parallel to the scalp again, no pulling no tugging. You don't really want to add any pressure. You just want to roll in a downward motion going away from your hairline and after i roll all the way down. I secure it with the plastic clamp and the most important part is i move that plastic clamp backward. If you don't move, this plastic clamp backward. You will end up with a crease so repeating the exact same process. I'Ll show you this one more time in regular speed, i'm taking the ends of the hair, tucking them under not applying any pressure and i'm making sure that the ends of the hair are not getting tangled in the process if they get tangly. For any reason, you'll end up with a wonky curl, so it's important to keep the hair flat against the foam roller and i'm simply rolling down from my scalp. You can see a little bit of hair gone on the plastic piece. It'S okay, foam roller sets are pretty forgiving and, as you'll see in the finished result, i'm definitely not a professional, so they're not going to be perfectly sectioned, but they're going to be good enough. This is um. This is amateur work, ladies and gentlemen, showing you again the process and what i like to do is two foam rollers on the top of my head, two foam rollers on either side of my head and then whatever is remaining in the back. I go in a straight line and of course, you'll see that shortly it's important to try to get all of the sections to be roughly the same size. Look at this part here i mean this is what i'm talking about. It'S not perfect. This is definitely amateur work, but you'll see the finished result and you can judge whether or not you like it. I guess so this last piece here rolling it down rolling it down, securing it. It'S not as important to move that clamp in the back, because usually the back hairs are covered up. Okay, so i'm taking a bobby pin and i'm going to secure only the front foam roller, because i kind of want that to be the nicest looking curl since it is going to be the front of my hair, the hairline. This is what the finished look looks like, so i'm taking a satin scarf, i'm going to fold it in half and drape it over my head now. The important part here is to make sure the middle of the triangle is coming through the ends of the scarf. So i'm going to tie it once and then i'm going to bring that middle piece over the section that i tied once it's brought through. I will finish off the knot and then i will tuck in any pieces that are kind of hanging out all crazy. Now it's your choice: if you want to bobby pin this, i usually don't, because i'm able to tie it tight enough to sleep on it, it's very comfortable. You can also wear a satin bonnet. I love this bonnet. Although the problem is it's slightly large for my head, so it often slips off the middle of the night and it can be a pain in the ass good morning. It is the next morning. Let'S do this big reveal i'm untying my scarf. As you can see. I definitely slept on these they're kind of a hot mess, but not to worry so. The trick here is to be gentle and patient while unrolling your foam rollers, don't pull, don't tug that will create frizz. Just just be gentle and don't worry if your curls come out all wonky and crazy. Looking like this one, we will sort it out, don't panic, also, as i unroll the curl i like to twist the curl and the direction in which i rolled it. When you take all these foam, rollers out, you'll, probably think what the hell did. I get myself into because this alone looks crazy, but please number one here is: do not panic, it will be okay, okay, so we got these little sausage curls all over our head. You'Re going to want to take a rat tail comb and start brushing the curls out again. Gentle patient, like you're, brushing a baby's hair i'll start by brushing the shaft and not quite combing through the whole curl as you'll see here, i'm doing some zhu zhing some finessing, i'm re-curling the curls, i'm also adding some dry shampoo, because i woke up a little Greasy, so if you have to do that feel free to again, i am judging and finessing the curls and i'm looking at my front piece to see what i want my pin curls to look like. So the great thing about foam roller sets is when you go to pin curl, the curl is basically already done for you. You just have to follow the pattern in which the foam roller set out. One thing i would advise here is use hairspray. I was being lazy. Sometimes i don't like to use too much product, so i didn't use any hairspray, but i would definitely suggest it just to keep any flyaways down, and i know the professionals will get a little upset because when you do pin curls, you definitely want to try your Best to hide the bobby pin, i'm lazy, so i didn't the cool thing about these bobby pins is they're very close to my natural hair color, so i'm just gon na roll with it. If it's not perfect, it doesn't bother me right here. I'M doing another pin curl on the on the right side of my head. I usually like to do three in the front. I think it's cute frames my face quite nicely and as you'll see here, i wasn't quite happy with the right curl, so i took it out and i redid it sometimes you just have to have plenty of patience and try it again and again until you get The desired result now the next step here is the final. Judging and finessing of your foam roller set so again, you'll want to shake out the hair brush. It out, reform some of those curls, but also split the curls in half. So you get more volume. Here'S what the back looks like it's a little crazy just because i can't see the back of my head, but that's the finished result. Isn'T it cute? Here'S some options. You can wear a headband instead of pin curls or if you do to pin curls. You can also use this satin scarf that you wore to bed and tie it right behind the pin curls. This look is my favorite. The only reason i didn't wear it is because the prints kind of clashed booyah baby. I love it all right, everybody. That'S all! I'Ve got for you today. I want to say thank you so freaking much for watching all the way through. If you could please like and subscribe, i would greatly appreciate that i want you to remember something tomorrow does not exist goodbye. You

Elisa's Echoes: Man I've been wondering for about a year if this would work on my curly hair but never saw anyone with similar hair do it. But now I'm gonna try it out! thank you for this :) You look so cute with those curls!

Emily Chapman: Thank you for this excellent tutorial. You did a fantastic job showing the initial process slowly and speaking really clearly. I have just bought a set of rollers so I’m going to try them following your method. Haven’t seen anyone damp the rollers and I’ve watched a few. Good job.

cat !: Thank you for this! Ive been dying to see someone with the same hair as me use foam rollers.

Faedrevien: I bought a bunch of foam rollers because I wanted to try them whenever my fine, thin, curly hair grows long enough, I tried a few with my sadly short hair and it turned out insane... '-' This seems doable though! I was just winging it because I had no idea what a "set" would look like on my head, I'll definitely follow your lead whenever I pluck up the courage to try again! PS. You're gorgeous. Just wanted to get that out there. <3

BelleDeJour224: Girl your hair is not that thin!Fine but not thin❤️
