She Has Never Straightened Her Hair! | First Time Straightening My Daughter'S Long Natural Hair

Hey Ya'll!

This is a SPECIAL video! It features my daughter getting her hair straightened for the FIRST TIME. Honestly, I wanted her to go to a natural hair salon to get her hair straightened so they could get her right, but after taking her braids out she kept begging and I broke down lol. I did not have the flat iron on on a very high setting because I did not want to damage her beautiful curls. #longhair #silkpress #flatiron #firsttime #naturalhair #3chair #new #straighthair #blowdryhair

Hey guys welcome or welcome back to my channel if you are new here, my name is Ty Monet and I love everything natural hair, as you can tell by the title of this video, I'm gon na be straightening my daughter's hair. This is my daughter. Isn'T she cute she's, 12 years old and she's never had her hair straightened before she's been literally begging me for years to get her hair straightened, and so today I am going to do that so starting off on her freshly washed hair. I am using this Mish boost, hydrating leave-in. I never used it before. I usually use the shea moisture leave-in that comes in the same spray bottle, but I didn't have any so. I figured I'd, use the Mish and I'm just spraying it all throughout her hair, hoping that it'll soften it up a little bit and make it a little easier for me to detangle because I'm ready to blow dry it I'm just going to section off smaller pieces And I'm going to start separating the strands so that it's not as Tangled when the comb goes through it. I don't want to rip any of her hair out or cause any breakage, or anything like that and before I blow dry I am going to use the Old, Faithful, Tresemme heat protectant. I love this stuff. I'Ve been using it for years and of course, when I am detangling I am starting from the very bottom and I'm trying to get out any of the tangles or the knots that are at the bottom. Then I'm going to the middle and I'm combing through the middle part and working my way all the way up to the roots. So, by the time I get up to the roots, it should be a lot easier for me to comb through. As you can see here, it is and y'all I am so lucky. My daughter is not tender headed like I, don't know what I would do if she sat there and whined about me, combing her hair the whole time I actually, I probably wouldn't even do anything to it. If she was tender headed, I would just leave her little head alone. She'D, probably just be wearing buns all the time. By the way I have this blow, dryer all the way up on the highest fan setting, and then I have it on the medium heat temperature. So it's not blowing out the hottest it can blow out, but it is blowing on the highest setting, but I think that still achieves a really nice blowout. So what works for me is just each section that I'm working on I'm going to do the same process of spraying in the leave-in conditioner, I'm going to separate the hair strands and then I'm going to spray in some more of the heat protectant comb. All of that stuff through and then I'm going to blow dry it, and I do that on each and every section, let's see. Thank you, foreign. No, no! No! No! No! No! Thank you foreign! So this isn't the first time I have blow-dried my daughter's hair. I don't do it often at all, but it's not the first time but y'all look at this look at her face. She was still surprised that she had inches for some reason, so this right here is one reason why I choose to use my fingers to feel for knots this knot right here. If I were to use my comb to comb through it, it might actually cause a lot of damage by ripping some of her hair or breaking some of it. So I just choose to find the knots first with my fingertips and try to like separate the knot out and then use the comb. Thank you. This is foreign so now that I'm finished on the first half of her hair, I'm just going to wrap that up into a little bun and then I'll start the same process on the other side. You guys already know the drill now, so I will speed up the next several clips foreign. Thank you time, yes, foreign, so I'm actually gon na blow dry, her hair one more time. I'M gon na use this ORS heat protectant and I'm going to put that throughout her hair and I'm going to blow dry on the cool setting to close the cuticle and seal in moisture and honestly. I just like this heat protectant because it is more of an oil base, so I think that it helps the blow dry a little bit more and the hair just feels a lot softer after I use it too all right now time for the straightening process. I'M just gon na section off her hair, starting with the nape of her neck and I'm just going to take little sections and pass over it with the flat iron I'm using the BaByliss Pro flat iron, and I think I had it on 35, which is, I Think close to 400 Degrees, like I said, I've never straightened her hair before so I was a little nervous on what setting to put it on because I don't know what will you know damage her curls or what will work for her? I know it works for myself and my curls, but I didn't want to put it on a higher setting, so her hair wasn't bone straight this time, but it was straight enough for her liking and I am going to trim her ends as I go along foreign By the way, I do like the chase method, where you put the flat iron behind the comb and the flat iron is chasing the comb. The comb is just acting as a tool to separate the hair and to smooth it while the flat iron is passing over the hair and to me that's really important, because one it allows me not to pass over her hair so many times, and it just helps Me kind of hold the hair nice and taut as I pull the flat iron down, which I think also gives you a more smoother flat iron, no body and again after each section that I do I'm just going in and I'm trimming it and I'm just pretty Much I'm trimming it along the same line as the trim that I did before. So I'm just using that as a guide to where I need to trim to. I think that it just makes your ends. Look nice and clean. Thank you. Let'S do it again, foreign foreign? No, no! No! No! No! No! Thank you! Foreign foreign foreign! Thank you, foreign! Thank you, foreign foreign. Everybody! Do it again! Thank you, foreign! Thank you foreign. So this is actually the last clip that you guys will see me um pass over her hair. I don't know what happened to the next clip. My phone might have died while I was recording, but this is the ending result and I really did like it. She liked it too. It was nice and smooth, like I said before, this is not gon na, be like a super silk press, because I did not have the flat iron up very high. Just again, I just don't know what her curls can take as far as heat goes, so we're just gon na be cautious this time and see how it goes. Excuse everything that you guys see in the background, but I hope that you guys enjoyed the video. Let me know what you think of her results y'all. She was acting brand new on me when she saw herself in the mirror, if you like this video, please consider subscribing to my channel, give it a thumbs up and again.
