Hey you guys welcome or welcome back to my channel for this video I'm going to be doing a silk press for you all, because it is still press season, I'm using some new products, I'm going to be trying the color wild dream code spray and I'm going To be using the blow dry brush from mermaid hair and shout out to mermaid hair for sponsoring this video, so as you can see, this is just me: unboxing the blow dry brush and it is basically built like a round brush, but with the blow dryer built Into it, so you can do the motion of using a round brush and a blow dryer simultaneously. It does have three different heat settings, so there is hot cool and general, which I guess is like medium so yeah. I ended up using the Color Wow dream coat. Spray on top of the normal products that I already use, which is the chi Iron Guard spray and the Aveda smooth infusion in leave-in conditioner. I didn't really trust the color wild Dream Coat to use on its own, which is why I went ahead and used my regular products that I normally use for when I do a silk press, because the Dream Coat says that it's supposed to just make your hair Humidity proof, but it doesn't technically say that it's a heat protectant, so I just felt like I should still use my normal product. I'M just Distributing that all throughout my hair within four sections and then I'm gon na go in with the blow dry brush from mermaid hair, I'm using the blow dry brush on the highest heat. But I will note that, even though I was on the highest heat setting, it did not feel like it was piping hot. If that makes sense like, I still felt comfortable using it on high, which I think I normally use my blow dryer on high anyway. But when I'm using the blow dryer brush first, I start off by running the brush through my hair. Slowly doing one slow pass to really distribute the the air throughout like my hair strands and to try to get it as straight as possible within the first couple of I guess you could say within the first couple of passes with it afterwards. I just keep moving the brush through my hair, frequently and just spinning like turning the brush around and around my hair, the same motion as if you would use a round brush while blow drying your hair. Honestly, you guys normally, I do not blow dry. My hair, like this, I use a demon brush and I use my regular blow dryer, but I will admit that using this blow dryer brush had me shook because it actually worked. I didn't think it was going to be able to work on my hair type, because my hair is very thick and very curly. I have Type 4 hair and whether you're a Type 4 type 3. You know how it is to have to blow dry it to get it straight, and especially if your hair is coarser, it takes a little bit more work to get it more silky and straight using like a brush when you're blow drying. I tend to have to use like a comb first and then go in with a brush, whereas this is eliminating both steps and I can just do everything in one step. So I really like this concept. I like the fact that it's simple you can just blow dry, detangle, smooth out your hair in one tool and I'm not holding a bunch of things I don't have to, because it's sometimes it's difficult to get the coordination of using the brush and the blow dryer At the same time, the only thing that I will note is that it's a little bit hard for me to get like right on the roots of my hair. I really have to keep going in and passing over the roots, just to make sure it really gets straight. But the length of my hair was really able to see the benefits of using this brush, and I will say that I noticed my hair had more body and movement and bounce when using the round brush, because it kind of gives you that blowout feel. You know what like a traditional blowout with a round brush and a blow dryer. So yes, another thing I was worried about was basically being able to detangle my hair with this tool because I'm so used to using a wide tooth comb on my hair, first or even a denim brush where the teeth are like wider. On the bristles of the brush, but this worked out just fine with my hair and was able to blow dry my hair completely fine and in a moment I'm gon na show you guys how much hair came out of the brush from like using from using this Tool, I did not lose a lot of hair. I was shook, like I barely lost any hair. My hair is completely dry and there's minimal frizz, so I did not really have to go in with a lot of work with using this blow dryer and I believe it took me all of 30 minutes to blow dry, my entire head so to flat iron. My hair, I am using my coconut milk anti-breakage serum from OGX, and I swear by using this serum when I'm going to straighten my hair or put any type of like heat tools onto my hair, because I feel like it helps prevent any type of heat damage That I may get because it's like a heavy silicone based serum, so I apply that all throughout my hair and then, if you guys have seen my original silk press routine video, then you already know how I flat iron, my hair. I do the chase method and I take very thin pieces and I pass the flat iron through my hair at at the least I do it twice like I at the very most I try to do it twice. I try not to go past two passes with the flat iron just to prevent any unnecessary heat damage, and I like to get my edges in the front. So yeah I'm just kind of speed through the flat iron process, because I feel, like you guys have seen me do this before. But if you haven't, I will link that video down below, but this was mainly just so that you guys could see me using a new blow dryer tool in order to straighten my hair passionate from miles away passive with the things okay. So I'm completely done flattering. My hair, it looks shiny, it has movement, it has bounce, and this is my hair before a trim, so I didn't even trim it yet and it doesn't even look that bad like. I was pleasantly surprised with my results, but of course I still had my mom trim my ends for me. Um later the next day, I'm just showing you guys my results before I go ahead and pin curl my hair foreign. So this is my hair. After I've taken the pin curls down, my hair has a lot of body a lot of Bounce, a lot of movement and it's definitely doing a lot better. Since I trimmed off those dead ends - and I just want to emphasize the importance of trimming - your hair guys make sure you're keeping up with your trims - I'm not the best at it, but I do try to at least do it like three times a year. With my hair straightened, because sometimes I feel like when I do get a curly cut, those ends aren't really getting cut as as precise as when my hair is straight. But yes, I'm loving my results, pink curls! Really just do it every single time with the silk press, even when I go get my hair done professionally, I always have them do like light curls in my hair, because I just love the results. I love the bounce. I love the body and I feel like it, helps my hair last just because, because just in case my hair does end up frizzing up or losing its shape, it still has some type of light curl. So that way, it's not like bone straight and then it just gets frizzy and puffy with no shape to it. If that makes sense, but anyway, I'm wrapping - and I'm about to just talk to you guys about my final result, all right y'all. So I'm finally going to talk to you about this hair I have going on here. I know I probably did like the first half like voice over style or and everything. But yes, so let me just say this. This is actually days later that I um paint curled my hair and like restyled it because the day that I actually filmed the original clip, I put these velcro rollers in my hair the same day just to like give it some quick volume and body, and it Came out cute, but it didn't last um. That was the only thing it did get a little frizzy, but it it didn't like revert, which is good. It did not revert at all. It'S just my hair kind of like frizzed out of the shape and it didn't like keep keep the form and keep the hold or whatever, and that was let's see I technically styled this Saturday so Saturday, Sunday Monday and today is Tuesday. So this is fourth day hair and my hair was technically still straight um. You guys could kind of see the state that it was in, as I was like curling it in some of the clips, so my hair was still straight just the ends were kind of like frizzy, but nothing was actually curly used. This Mizani spray Ed it on each piece then pin curled it curled it with my flat iron, then pinned curled it to hold it in place, and I think for a hold, pin. Curls are definitely the way to go. If you want like volume like really really big volume, then I would use the velcro rollers because they don't really hold that much. Unless maybe you just hold them. You just use the rollers for longer and I only did it for like maybe 30 minutes or use a better, a stronger hairspray like with a stronger hole. Then you might get a better results, but I don't want to say my results are bad. They weren't bad. I had like a lot of volume, a lot of body. It was cute, it just didn't hold that. Well, so I think maybe it was the spray. But let's talk about the mermaid hair blow dry brush this right here I got ta say I was pleasantly surprised with my results with this I was not thinking. It was actually gon na work on my hair for one, and I thought that I would probably end up opting for my normal blow dryer and brush way of like doing my hair like I was using this, and I felt it was a lot easier than using Using a regular blow dryer because you don't have to hold the dryer hold the brush and do this at the same time, you can do it all simultaneously and apply as much tension as you want without like losing control of the tool. I really enjoyed this. I feel like you guys, should try that type of blow dryer, even if, if you don't want to use the mermaid hair one, if you can't get your hands on the mermaid hair, when I would try something similar to it, I feel like it's a good option. As long as it's made well also, what I notice is it gets hot, but it didn't feel like it was like piping hot, like extremely hot, to the point where I was scared for the health of my hair. So I will keep using that and I definitely recommend that you guys use it and it is Curly textured natural hair friendly. I can attest to that and I can stamp that and approve that. Of course, we need to see how my hair reverts I'm definitely looking forward to see that. But I think it should be fine, because, as long as I use this product anytime, I put like heat on my hair, like after it's straight or after it's blow dried and I'm going to use any heat. I'Ll put this on. I'Ve noticed that this helps me out a lot. I talked about the pros and what I like about it. I like the fact that you don't have to hold a whole bunch of tools at one time, you're only using one thing. I like the fact that it doesn't get extremely hot to the point where you feel like it's like dangerous for your hair. I like that it is lightweight um, easy to use efficient. I like all of that about it. The only thing that I don't like is these bristles. I kind of wish that they were a little bit more sturdy like they're, very flexible and like they Bend easily. But then again I don't know if it's supposed to be made that way, so it can easily move with your hair. But I don't know I kind of wish that they were a little bit sturdier or thicker for my type of hair and like if your hair is very fine. I don't think you'll have any issues with that, but yeah. I feel like that's my only con, like the bristles are kind of like going every which way from using it so much so I just don't know how long I'll be able to keep up with this product or how long it will hold up with my type Of hair, so if your hair thickness density texture is like coarser or a lot thicker, I'm I'm just I'm I'm concerned with like how well this will hold up and how long this will last. As far as the bristles go. Okay, that's my only con, for this is how it's designed and again I don't know if it needs to be made this way in order for it to work with the hair or what, but I do kind of wish that the bristles were sturdier and a little Bit less flexible and like thicker, you know what I'm saying like a thicker thing. Like almost I wish it was similar to the bristles that are like on a Denman brush or something like that or even bigger. But again I still love this blow. Dryer, I'm still going to keep using it, and hopefully it will last me a while - and I won't have to get a new one soon or anything like that, because I'm definitely going to opt for this instead of the blow dryer as long as it's not damaging To my hair, which I don't think it is, I've seen a lot of videos of other girls and other people using this and um they've used it multiple times and their curls have stayed intact. So absolutely love this. I recommend that you guys go ahead and try it and if you guys want to see more information about it or if you're looking to purchase this product, make sure you guys use my referral link Down Below in the description box. And I would really really appreciate that, so the next thing that we're going to talk about is the other new product that I used, which was the Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural spray. This spray is supposed to make your hair like waterproof, humidity, proof and everything like that. I think it worked. I think it worked because but then again I did not test this in, like the best amount of humidity at all, because we're in Fall. It'S not that humid, so I will have to try this again in the summer time and the warmer months to really see if it's humidity proof I was almost gon na say it didn't work, because my curls didn't last, but that's technically, not this job. It'S job to do this: it's not supposed to hold it's just supposed to help with humidity, and it's technically right, like my ends, just didn't hold the curl, but it didn't necessarily mean that my hair reverted back to Natural. My edges, however, did sweat out, but I mean I don't think it would have held up with that um. I don't think it can. I don't think it can work against sweating, like I don't think you can do that. I think it's more so about, like literally the humidity in the air and not reverting like the actual hair strands. Um, I would say, give it a try and if you can try to use it alone. I particularly just did not want to because this does not say anything about being a heat protectant, it's just humidity resistant, so I still felt the need to use my other products, so I would still pair a heat protectant with this, because it does not say that It'S a heat protectant. It says that it's just oh, like um. What does it say, magically transforms texture, amazing, humidity, proofing power so yeah, it doesn't say anything about it being an actual heat protectant, but then again anything with like heavy silicones in it can help protect against heat. So I just would not feel comfortable using this alone. On my hair, when I'm straightening it so in my hair right now is my usual: the chi Iron Guard spray, the Aveda smooth, smoothing, leave-in conditioner I'll link it down below. Overall, I'm loving my results. I love the hairbrush, I'm so happy. It'S officially silk press season and I can wear my hair straightened and change up the style and I definitely prefer My Curls my hair, like doing the pin curl way as opposed to the roller way. I mean I like what it gave me. I think if I would have like left them in longer or just used a longer holding spray, then I would have liked my results better, I mean my hair was still cute. If you guys saw my Instagram post um that I put up when I was at my school's homecoming, my hair did look cute and I had a lot of body but did not have nearly as much curl. I think this will just hold up a lot longer. So, that's all that's all. I have to say love how my hair came out. Let me know what you guys think Down Below in the comments. This actually looks like salon quality, I'm not even gon na. You know nothing to my own horn, but let's get into it. Okay, it's soft, it has body, it has balance. I shampooed the mess out of my hair. I don't know if that mentioned that earlier or not, but I did three washes of shampoo of clarifying shampoo and I deep conditioned my hair. I conditioned my hair to detangle it and I deep condition so I prepped the mess out of my hair so that it could be as silky and as smooth as possible, and I really think the key to a bomb silk press Blowout at home is making sure Your hair is super super clean and using extremely lightweight products and not being heavy with your products. In the past, I've used different products where the creams are like heavier, and I don't feel my hair is as bouncy and as silky as I would like switched up. My products used more sprays and more like watery textured leave-in, like creams, as opposed to like heavy, like moisturizing creams in my hair, and I definitely see a difference as well as it's still protecting my hair. So, like I said, let me know what you guys. Think of my results down below. Let me know if you guys are going to be trying the blow dry brush from mermaid hair if you're going to be trying any blow dry, brushes like that or if you have tried them before. What are your thoughts? What do you like about it? What do you not like about it? Do you still use your regular blow dryer? Let me know I mean, of course, I'm still gon na use my regular blow dryer, because I diffuse my hair and I use it on my natural hair, but yeah you guys get what I'm saying anyway, I'm wrapping you guys get the point. This is my hair: silk press came out bomb. I hope you guys have the best of luck in this silk press season and wear your hair straight. If you, if you like doing that, so thank you guys so much for watching comment down below any videos that you like to see from me in the future. Give this video a thumbs up if you liked it or if you found it helpful subscribe. If you have not already and I'll see you guys in my next video foreign
