Hey guys, it's the girl, Brittany, Simone and welcome back to my channel. So, as you can see from the tattoo today, we will be giving not. We me I'll, be giving an update on my relaxed hair. I think it's been eight months since I've relaxed my hair. I relaxed my hair back in February of this year and yeah. I don't feel like I've, given you guys an update since then, and I got my hair relaxed last week actually and I posted like you know how much my hair has grown over the period of time and mediums flooded with bear questions. You know how your hair grows so fast, a lot of them something there. You know how you maintain healthy relaxed hair. You know just a lot of questions and then I decided to just post a poll and ask my followers. You know like ask me some questions. You know I'll just put everything in a video because you know I want to share what has worked for me. I am no relaxed hair Guru. I am still new to this, but before I relaxed my hair I decided to not decided before I relax my hair. I did do a lot of research, you know, and I feel like since my hair has been relaxed. I'Ve learned a lot and when you see that look at some lower fly across yeah since my hair has been relaxed. I think that I have learned a lot. You know - and I want to share that with you guys, because I know that relaxed hair - it's not easy. I mean it's very convenient like I love it, but if you're, not careful, your hair will break so with your hair. Breaking it won't grow like relaxed. Hair is very, very fragile. It'S easy, but it's very risky, like your hair, can break very easily if you don't know the proper hair care tips. So I am here to basically just like share all of those stuff, and you know help you guys along your relaxed hair Journey, even if you don't have relaxed hair um, I feel like if you are considering to relax. You know this. Video can definitely help you out because I watched a lot of videos while I was still natural and before I even move forward. If you have natural hair I'm I don't want to hear the comment sandal. Oh, my God, you hate to hear whatever, and I have gotten a lot of those comments, especially on Tick Tock. You know people telling me that I hate myself and whatever I am not embracing my roots like it's, not that deep, it's hair like if I want to go back natural at any time. I can do that. You know I feel, like people make life so difficult. You know it's, it's not that deep. You know it's hair and I decided to relax my hair, it's my hair. I can do whatever I want to do with it, but you know that's not the point of this video. I was just putting that out here that I don't want to see the bagabaga in the comments like we're not here, for that you know positive energy only and yeah, let's get into the video foreign. So let's get into the questions um. I have them written down in my little notebook here. You know I just want it to be very organized in this video um. I did get a lot of questions. I'M gon na send beer question bear question, but a lot of them were like very repetitive. So I did decide to just like put everything in one, not in one, but you know like break it up in like different categories, so I think um. I have about 13 questions and I do think that this will answer like everything that you guys asked me. So, let's get into the questions now so the first question was: how often do you relax your hair? Personally, I relax my hair, oh by the way before I answer these questions, I'm just sharing what works for me, I'm not saying that you know this is the right way to do anything. This is just what works for me and what has grown my relaxed hair and helped to keep my hair as healthy as possible. So please don't drag me in the comments. Okay. Okay, so how often do you relax your hair? I personally relax my hair every 10 to 12 weeks, basically so yeah I stretch my relaxers reason. Being I don't know, I feel like it keeps my hair healthy. That way - and I don't know I like when I relax my hair and I see how much it has grown and I just don't want to like be put in chemical in my hair, often like yeah. I know that my hair is already processed by chemical, but I don't know I don't feel like you need to relax to hear that. Often, if you can stretch your relaxers do that you know um, and it is hard to like stretch a relaxer that long because by then like when I'm on, like my eighth week, like my roots, are like thick. It'S hard to comb through my hair mama. Just have a toffee toe, you know, because your girl have to do what you have to do so 10 to 12 weeks, every 10 to 12 weeks. Since I got my hair done in February. Like the first time I relax my hair I've relaxed my hair three times since then. So the second question is: what is your wash routine and to answer this question, I'm just going to show you guys what I used to wash my hair and basically how I wash my hair. So I wash my hair every single week every week when I say every week I mean every week, not one week is Miss, I mean sometimes I will go over a week so like right now my hair hasn't been washing like a week and two days because I wanted to do this video before I wash my hair, because I know that I'm not gon na flat iron back my hair, because whatever we'll get into that but um, this is what I use in my hair. So I use the ox salon shampoo. This is a hydrolyzed wheat. Protein shampoo, listen would not recommend to use this main hair every week. I don't use this in my hair every week, I'm gon na tell you guys what else I use apart from this. So what a lot of people don't know is when it comes down to protein, you don't need a lot of that's in your relaxed hair, because it will definitely dry hair out and cause breakage stick to products that solely solely um moisturize, your hair. So for a shampoo, I would definitely recommend the shea moisture, Manuka and honey that one and I think, the Aussie brand that purple shampoo, I'm gon na like put it here, so that you guys can see what I'm talking about. Definitely would recommend that one. My um shampoo is done. I was using the shea moisture on the menu, can honey oil, but it's Manuka oil and what am I say, honey on. I was using that one, but it's done but um when my hair is feeling weak and fragile. I use this one though protein one, because it does make my hair stronger. So after that I use this as my deep conditioner I deep condition my hair every week, as I said, with relaxed hair, you have to make sure that your hair is always moisturizer. I deep condition my hair every single week, so this is the cream of nature, pure honey, um, hair mask for damaged hair. My hair is not damaged, but you know like prevention, better than cure, so I love this Holy Grail. Whenever I use this in my hair, my hair is so moisturized and smooth and just easy to deal with. So this is another mask that I use. This is a protein mask, so I don't use this in my hair every week. This is a high pro pack, extremely damaged, hair repair, intense protein treatment. So again, when my hair just need a little bit of love - or you know like my hair feeling dry, I use this mask in my hair, and then I use the next one after so this is probably like at every month type of vibe. You know like once a month I use this so after I come on. Let'S show on everything I use my aux system, leave-in conditioner, so I just spray this in my hair. When I come out the shower and then I blow dry, my hair before we even get into blow drying, if, when I have this, and then I have relaxed hair, get rid of it, this type of blow dryer the brush one get rid of it. This is causing so much damage to your hair that y'all, don't even realize using our brushing your relaxer overall is very damaging. I don't use brushes in my hair whatsoever. It causes a lot of breakage. It'S not good for your hair. Get rid of this yeah. I use the regular that have the comb on it and I don't use it on the highest setting, keep it unlike the medium Heat and the less heat in your hair. The better trust me um when I blow dry, my hair - I put this in there to moisturize it, so this is the ox moisturizing hair bottle and the serum I mix both of them together and then I moisturize my hair. If I choose to flat iron my hair that week I will, if I don't choose a flat iron, my hair, then I just blow dry it and I'll, wear it in a ponytail for that week. So that's it! That'S all for my wash hair routine. So next question is what is my daily routine and my nightly routine for my hair so nightly routine? What I do is I moisturize my hair every night, not one night goes by that I don't moisturize my hair, and this is why I moisturize my hair with everybody's supposed to know is the olive oil hair lotion. May I use this from a long time from high school. I'Ve been using this in my hair Prep School. Actually, you know like this is just a Holy Grail. Never yet fail me. This is why I used to moisturize my hair and I wrap my hair every night every night, every single night, and then I tie with a silk scarf. You know like that's it, that's all. As for my daily routine, I don't put anything in my hair during the day I already moisturized my hair from in the night, so all I have to do in a day is just pull out my hair. If I want to wear it all um wear it in a claw clip anything. You know like it's up to me. It'S up to you, whatever you want to do, or I style my hair. However, that's all I'm gon na do I don't put anything in my hair next question. Somebody asked me who relaxes your hair, so I live in Kingston, Jamaica and I relax my hair at oxalon and that's on Aryan Road in Kingston. You can check out their Instagram at Ox system, that's oxx system. This is not sponsored by the way. You know, I'm just answering this because you guys asked me um. There is nobody specific that relaxes my hair there um personally, every time I go there, I think I get somebody different TBH like every time I got here. Somebody different do my hair, I mean sometimes the same person might do my hair, but um they're all trained the same way. They all give the same type of service. My hair always have the same great results, so you can go to anybody there. So it's oxy steam oxx system on Instagram. You can check them out if you want so you know yeah. So the next question is what protective styles I use to prevent. Breakage non-protective styles are like so horrible for relaxed hair and when I say protective styles, I mean like braids and you know them type of something their braids. Probably like a sewing. You know anything that makes you not have to deal with the hair for like a period of time that is so awful for relaxed hair, and let me explain why, seeing that you have to always keep your hair moisturized all the time when you do having these Protective styles you're not able to properly moisturize it here, you're, not able to like wash your hair weekly and do like a deep conditioning, and it will cause your hair to get dry and brittle. So when you do pull out that um protective style yeah, it might look like a hair girl, but you do lose a lot of hair in the process of doing that. You know your hair will break and over time it will cause a lot of extensive damage to your relaxed hair. So I personally don't do protective styles on my hair. I did it once and I'll never do it again. I got a ponytail for like two weeks. It wasn't even a month it was like two weeks and when I took it up, my hair was super dry. It gave me a bald spots like guys, y'all, don't even know what I have so I stay away from protective styles because they don't work for me. I mean if you want to do them and chance it go ahead, but I don't do them and I would not recommend them. I'M so sorry. Somebody asked me how I manage my relaxed hair and the gym. I don't like girl. I just be vibing honestly um. I just put my hair in a ponytail and go to the gym. I do sweat in my hair, so my hair will be sweaty, but seeing that I wash my hair every week, I guess it's. It not really bother me that much. You know because my nose at the end of the week, I'm gon na wash my hair. So that's the time. That'S how I just put my hair in a ponytail go on my business. I actually bought this leave-in rejuvenating mix from up salon. That'S supposed to help with sweat in your hair and I don't even use it. I'M gon na start using it because it probably will help but yeah next question. Then this is a cartoon one question: how often do I trim my ends and how do I prevent split ends, so I trim my hair whenever I feel like my hair need a trims, so it might be, but no no, whenever my head take me, I'm not The type of person that's like, oh I'll, rely I'll trim my hair every time I get to relax so because, sometimes like during that period, your hair, the ends, feel kind of trashy or you will see like a little split end and I'm gon na clip it Off you know, because I don't want it to continue splitting up the length of my hair, so I'm the type of person. That'S always looking at my ends to see how the look and how they feel if it feels trashy or if I have any split ends, and I will cut it off oil prevent split ends. You can't you really can't like I don't know, I don't feel like. I can prevent split ends, no matter how much you moisturize your hair, you're gon na get them at some point, but it's how you deal with them. You know make sure so you cut it off, don't leave it there to like split um all the way up. Your hair don't be afraid to trim your hair trimmina hair. Is it helps with hair growth? You know like the less breakage you have from split ends. Is the more you will have like proper length retention? If that's the word so definitely recommend trimming your hair when they feel like you need one. Okay. So next question: do you regret relaxing your hair and have you had any breakage so far? Okay, I'm gon na be real with you guys. Do I really do. I regret it absolutely not I'm gon na I'm not gon na say it has been like a perfect Journey, but it has made my life so much more easier. I love my hair, I'm in love with my relaxed hair. You know I if I could go back. I would do it all over again. You know, I have no regrets whatsoever um personally, why I relax my hair is because I don't know I just like looking cute and natural. You know I just love wearing my hair and yes, I do wear like wigs and extensions from time to time, but I, like just being in my own hearing it, makes me feel beautiful personally when I wear a wig like I'm so self-conscious coming a wearable is The less showing is it lifting you know they're, making something there when I'm wearing my hair. I don't have to worry about none of that. None of that whatsoever and yeah you can do the same thing with having natural hair, but my natural hair. It made my life so difficult, I'm not even gon na lie like I have to give all the people credit that know how to like rock their natural hair and wear it, and you know, unfortunately that was not me and that's okay. I did not have the energy to like explore and you know I love my relaxed hair and I would do it all over again. So you know you just do what works for you, honestly, whatever you think that will make your life easier, do what works for you only you alone will know that um have I experienced any breakage, and how did I correct it people? What am I tell myself my ear? They are dropper without one point people like I felt like I thought I was sick or something so when I went to um Cayman back in April. So this is probably like two months after I relaxed my hair February March. During February March April, yeah two months since I relaxed my hair, my hair was like falling out, not a lot but, like I don't know, we didn't pop my ear one day and like may, I feel it on me. I say what's going on, let me take a picture people. My ear I drop out from the roots. It wasn't even breakage, like my hair, was falling out from the root and I was very depressed honestly because I don't know I thought that my hair would keep falling out and it wouldn't grow back. I thought there was something wrong with me, but you know I was a bit unhealthy. You know I am anemic and I need to take my iron vitamins every day and I'm so lackadaisical. So you know like them somewhere affect me. I them time there. I wasn't in the gym, so I wasn't eating healthy, healthy but um. You know, I corrected my diet. I took my vitamins, everything I went on biotin, so um. Well, let me show you guys, so this is also answering our next question. Somebody asked me if I take any supplements, I do take biotin 5 000. This is the one that I take so yeah, I'm taking this. It made my hair grow back and just start correct in my diet and everything see you know. That was just like a very low point for me with my relaxed hair, but you know it is what it is. Life happens. It'S not gon na be a perfect Journey. At the end of the day, you just have to do what works for you, and I don't even think it was the relax relax in my hair that caused it. It was just me neglecting my body and not being as healthy as I cannot eating a proper food, not taking my vitamins. So I was losing hair, but you know I'm back to normal now and yeah, but I was actually a final question, but you know I'm just here to tell you guys that your hair, your relaxed hair, can grow. You can have long healthy, relaxed hair. If you just put the energy into your hair and a lot of times, people are just like: oh, it's genetics whatever, and I'm not saying that genetics does not play a role in you know how fast your hair will grow or your hair type. You know, because I do think that that's like a small percentage of like why my hair grow fast, but also I can set up when I was in high school. My ear never grow. My hair was never like this side. My hair was up here so like it would just scare yourself and don't move the whole five years in our high school Mega. Andrews with air never grow the air stagnant people stagnant, and you know why, because back then I was not educated on how to take care of my relaxed hair. Never did I realized, I wasn't um moisturizing, my hair. Every night I used to relax my hair um. More often, every six weeks I would get a relaxer um. My hair was over processed at that time. Right now, my hair is actually not bone straight because when your hair is over processed, it does cause your hair to be very weak, very fragile and your hair will break off my oh, my God. This thingy is so annoying. It'S attracted to the ring light, but um yeah when I was in high school that the hair just would not grow my hair was over processed. You know I just I wasn't taking my vitamins. I wasn't properly moisturizing my hair and moisturizing. Your hair is the key to having hair growth, and you know having good hair retention. All of them look at something there. So I personally feel like if you're feeling discouraged and you feel like you're relaxed hair is not growing. Try to incorp incorporate these tips into your new routine and you know see what happens. I definitely guarantee you guys that you hear will grow. You will see a change in your relaxed hair. If you are thinking about relaxing hair, just know that you can't neglect it. You have to put in the work you have to do a photo yeah, but this is the end of the video. Thank you guys so much for watching. If you did like this video, don't forget to like comment, share and subscribe. You know on the road to 10K, I'm trying to hit 10K by the new year. So just let me know and thank you guys again for the continued support and I will see you guys in my next video

Island girl: Thanks for the tips . I just relaxed mine and I love it. I look grown. I had healthy, big, long natural hair but it was just too hard to manage. After 7 years it felt like nothing worked. I can always go back natural if I feel like it but I’m enjoying the ease right now

shanice jones: Here for the glowing skin, Jamaican accent, relaxed hair and good vibes

Slim Slimmaz: Hey Brittney great vlog, but protective styles aren't totally damaging. Yes, it can be aggressive on the scalp and weaken the follicles if not done properly or extremely tight. Wearing braids and weave can be challenging when it's time to moisturize and treat. What I learned recently from my stylist, which actually been working, ▪︎oil scalp everyday with black castor oil, the raw undiluted ones ▪︎have a professional stylist wash braids, moisture treat and steam every 2 weeks ▪︎after removing braids or weave after 6-8 weeks (protein treat) ▪︎always allow the scalp to breathe (giving scalp 1-2 weeks break) ▪︎EAT HEALTHY!!! This routine has been working for me. I've been in the gym and have been wearing braids since April. Sad to say, I've not taken a break

Melissa Laboriel: Literally just relaxed yesterday. I love your hair and hope that I end up with your length soon. I got REALLY lucky that it came out really healthy and smooth.
