70S Perm Tutorial I Easy & Heatless I 1970S Hairstyle

In this video I’m showing you an easy and heatless way to achieve the signature 70s perm! By using foam rollers instead of heated tools this hairstyle isn’t damaging the hair and with the right amount of hairspray will stay in place for days!

Depending on how many curlers you use and how close to one another you place them the curlier your result turns out. By teeming the hair after removing the curlers your hair will even be more curlier and create that late 60s perm look made famous by the wonderful Miss Christine of the GTO’s!✨

Stay groovy,

#70sperm #70shairstyle #perm

Hello and welcome everyone so, a couple of weeks ago, i posted a video that was actually about accessorizing outfits, but in that video i had that, like 70s perm looking hairstyle and in the comment section, a lot of people asked me how i achieved that hairstyle. How do i get my hair to look so perm without actually putting a perm in it and damaging it, and today i want to show you how i do that, so, if you're interested in learning how you can achieve that 70s perm, look without damaging your hair. Just keep on watching okay, so i haven't done anything to my hair so far i just got up. So let me start by showing you all the tools that i use, so i use a regular brush to just detangle my hair. I have this comb, which just makes it easier to section and to really make sure there are no knots or anything left in my hair, because if you like curl them with a knot in it, it is very hard to get a knot out after you curl. The hair - i also have this clip and this hair tie to section my hair. I have this little bottle. There'S just water in it. By adding this, i'm securing the curls a little shawl to wrap around my head once all the curlers are set, and, lastly, the curlers. So i use these kind of curlers. I know a lot of people like foam rollers. I, like them too, but to get that super curly. Look. I think it's easier if you use these and if you've never used them before. Basically, all you do, you wrap your hair around it and you put this through the little hole and just put it through. I also tend to do this in the evening and then just sleep with it, and it is pretty comfortable to sleep in these because they're just very squishy, so i'm gon na start by brushing my hair i've washed it yesterday and when you do this, you kind Of want to make sure that your hair is dry, because if your hair is too wet, it might not dry all the way and then the curls just fall out, and now i'm just sectioning the lower part of my hair, just kind of like this. I do this with my fingers, i kind of like the look of a very messy and natural 70s perm. That'S why i don't really care about sectioning it off super neatly. But if you like want to go for a bit more of a polished, look, you might want to make sure that it is sectioned off very nicely okay, so, as you can see, i kind of have a string of hair down there, and now i just use The comb to go through it and just make sure there is nothing left, and i just take pieces of hair that kind of work together like i don't go by any technique or anything just starting down here and then working my way, all the way up. So now i'm just taking one of the curlers and just kind of wrapping the end around it and then just twisting it and turning it all the way up to like here, then i just put the thing through the hole and pull it through there. You go one done so it's super easy. It is a lot of work, but you can like listen to music um yeah or you could watch a tv show or just do whatever you want and um yeah. Now, i'm just working my way through. So i said before i don't really have a technique or anything when it comes to doing this. I'M just trying to get all of my hair in, and you know the more of these little things you use the tighter your curls are obviously going to be so you can kind of vary with the thickness of your curls, but i also think because i'm gon Na do a lot a lot. It doesn't really matter if the strength aren't perfectly the same size, because in the end, when i take them out, i split them anyways, so they kind of end up being thinner than they were if that kind of makes them it's hard to explain. So i do sometimes use foam rollers. Sometimes i use this. Sometimes i use a curling iron. Sometimes i use a straightener, but i just try to not put so much heat on my head because i don't want to like ruin my hair. I have naturally very dark hair, so it is already a bit damaged from keeping it this color, which yeah that's just not my natural color, so i don't want to put heat on it all the time, because that will just make the damage way worse. Okay, now i'm kind of like just taking the next section. Also, these rollers are super super cheap. You can get them for very inexpensive. I got mine. My first set at a thrift store actually, and you can also get them at some drugstores here and i feel like you get. I don't know like a hundred for five euros or so so because, like my bangs and these side, parts that i have i'm just leaving that out until the very end and then i'm gon na curl that individually, so um yeah. Just if you have a cut similar to mine, you might want to do that so for, like the final layer, i kind of take up my uppers layer of hair and then also like the parts that i kept in front. I'M gon na do one final layer before that and then i'm gon na move on to this layer, because this one, i kind of be a bit more careful with where i put the curlers so yeah. I just kind of make sure that, like everything, that is, bang length is out and still up front for the final rolls and then i'm just parting. This in half, where, like my natural part kind of goes, it's also cool to have these things because, as you can see, i kind of can just lay it down and it will keep it sectioning. Okay and now i'm just taking this side and combing it through again. So, as you can see like the whole thing, is very easy: it's just pretty repetitive and it takes a while, but it's easy to do and i'm just splitting this up into like three curls. I think so, i'm just gon na do these and i'm just gon na check in with you again when i do like this forward part here, so i made it all the way up front, and now i'm just doing like the final ones and i kind of Part, my hair somewhere in the middle to do so, and then i put in one curler for like the very long side strings so a couple of days ago i surpassed 20 000 followers on instagram and um. I wanted to say thank you also on here. Not only on there, but it got me thinking that i would love to do a giveaway and i kind of want to do it as soon as i hit 2 000 subscribers on this channel, and so my thought process was to kind of combine it. So do it via instagram, but then also you have to be subscribed to take part. So i came up with this idea. If you want to participate in the giveaway, you have to follow me on instagram and then like post a picture to your instagram story of you watching. One of my videos, in which i can see that you're subscribed to the channel and what i want to do is i'll. Just randomly pick one winner, no matter where you live, and then you just send me your measurements or maybe your instagram and like what kind of style you like, and i will send you a vintage box filled with, like amazing vintage pieces, measured to your size and To whatever you like and whatever i feel like, would look amazing on you, so that's gon na happen very soon um. I have my instagram linked down below. Follow me there. If you don't want to miss out on that - and i will post in a couple of days with like everything that you need to do so yeah, it is so exciting to see this community grow, and i am so thankful. So i really want to get back and give back to all of you so check out my instagram for more information and good luck for the giveaway. I'M gon na. Do this part up here and this down there and then that part very upfront so because i kind of do it a bit randomly and i don't really like, do it with any technique or anything, it always turns out different. So yeah we'll see how this one turns out today, sometimes when it like gets to very short pieces. I just put this in and then i wrap around like so so i wrap the hair around the thing and not twist the thing, because sometimes that's just easier with these very short hairs. Okay, so it's feeling fine! I mean it is kind of pulling a bit, but not too much, and now i just take this just water in here and i just spray my entire head, just kind of making sure that i get it everywhere and now, depending on what you prefer. Sometimes i just leave it like this, but especially if you want to sleep in it, i would highly recommend you to use like one of these little shawls. So i just put like this back here and kind of like make sure that i've spread it all over. My hair and then i make like one of these little knots and just make sure that i have all of the foam rollers in. It'S also like just a lot nicer because you don't have them hanging in your face all day or all night, depending on what you do if you're sleeping in it. I highly recommend you to put them in a shawl because otherwise they will get everywhere and your hair will get super frizzy from like all the moving. So you kind of prevent that from happening. If you put it in a shawl and yeah, you will end up with something kind of looking like this, and i will just go on with my day now and i will check in with you later once. This is all sunken in. I kind of leave it in either like for the whole night or like for four to five hours. I feel like that always works great for me. If you want to speed up the process, you could also blow dry your hair. I don't like to do that because i said before i don't really like to add a lot of heat to my head, but that's just something you could do if you would like to so yeah. I'M gon na leave this on. I'M gon na go on with my day and i will check in with you later okay, so it's pretty much been a full day. It'S the evening now and i had these curlers in my hair all day, so i'm gon na take them out now and yeah yeah just show you how i style this. So that's what it's looking like it is. It feels pretty dry but, as i said, it's been in my hair for like six seven hours almost so that definitely should be enough and i'm just starting somewhere. Usually, i start right down here kind of the same way around that i put them in and now i just unravel them like so and that's they look like so yeah. I know a lot of people like to calm them directly, but i like to take them all out and then have a look at them and then like calm them or anything. So i'm gon na take all of them out and then show you how i style them. So, as you can see, this one, for example, turned out super tiny, but as sad, i don't really like go by any specific pattern while creating these. So i kind of like the messier look of it i feel like. If i would do a true disco curl, i would probably like use foam rollers and make them a lot more defined, since this is going to get brushed out a bit anyway. It doesn't really matter. I just prefer these over foam rollers when it comes to very tight curls, because i feel like these are just easier to kind of handle. If i have curls like this one, i usually go in with a comp and kind of separate them. So, as you can see, that already creates a lot more volume. So if you wanted to go more of like a very curly, very frizzy root, you could have just take them out and then tease every string like every string that you take out. You just tease them and then put a lot of hairspray in them and that would make them super super voluminous, but i kind of like the curl look of it. Okay, so, as you can see kind of bit flat up here, so i first of all just put my hands through and just shake it out, because i feel like that's way more natural than combing it out already. As you can see, this is just a very bouncy and curly. Look. I really like to place them up here kind of like they are already to kind of you know, so you don't really see the part anymore or anything. This lock just keeps falling forward. That'S! Okay, we're gon na go with it and now i really like to kind of put my hands through and then hold them up almost and now, i'm just gon na take some hairspray and gently spray, my head and then, while it's still setting just going through and Holding it up just to make sure it stays very voluminous, very wild. I really prefer the wild look over like the super loose look. I think it's a lot more fun, just kind of spray and then hold it for a moment, massage it up just so. It doesn't get too heavy, but my hair isn't that heavy anyway, so that won't really make a difference so yeah. I really like this look. I think it's such a fun. 70S little twist, so yeah, that's the final! Look! I really like it um. As you can see, it's super easy to achieve the longer you leave them in the longer it stays, but this is usually staying in my hair for like three or four days until i wash it the next time so yeah, that's pretty cool. I really like it. I think it's fairly easy because you just put them in you: can sleep with the foam curlers in you can do whatever like today. I just tied this wrap around my head and then i went on with my day. I went grocery shopping. I just did some chores and like edited a video and so and now i'm all done - and i have this very cool - very voluminous hairstyle. So i hope you enjoyed the video. I hope you found this helpful as said depending on how many of these little foam curlers, you use your curls, get curlier or less curly, and also depending on how long you leave this in so in the accessorizing video, where a lot of people asked about this Hairstyle, i used a bit more foam rollers and i had them in my hair for over 10 hours and yeah. If you want to have a bit of more of a loose look, which is this one today, i really wanted to go with a bit more of a looser look. Just don't take as many foam curlers, so i really hope you enjoyed the video. If you did, i would love you to give it a thumbs up and subscribe to this channel.
