You'Re not manipulating it you're, not combing it. It'S just growing hi guys. I have missed y'all so much if you are new welcome to the channel. If you are a subscriber, hey guys, hey guys, hey gals. Welcome today is going to be a yearly update on these beautiful luscious locks. Okay, it's been one freaking year. I have been waiting for this for ever since i actually got the locks which was june 10th. Now today is july. 7Th, don't kill me okay, a lot of things been going on like that. Okay, so i apologize in advance for not uploading too much, but i'm back. Okay. I know all youtubers say this, but i'm back and i wanted to share with you guys the updates trials. Tribulations that i've had with my sister logs now, let me just say these have been the best decision i've ever made for my hair ever okay, this best decision ever so far. I don't have any regrets whatsoever. If i were to turn back, i would have gotten them sooner. That'S my only regret with these locks as far as any updates um, if you don't know, i started off with two strand twists can't tell i'll bring one up close. I don't know if you can tell or not, if you can't that's good means the time maturing, but i started off with two strand twists and from there it was history. Now, as far as maturing goes, i have been seeing a lot of budding towards the end. So, just basically shed hair coming into a ball or bud. They eventually just go ahead and fall off on their own. I'Ve had some strands as far as much as this big just fall off on its own. Just by me, um finger detangling, which i pretty much do every day. Don'T miss a beat part of it because i have hands on in hair syndrome, um hoh, but also because i my hair gets tangled easily and you may think, with locs okay. Why would it get tangled, but there are stray hairs just around your locs, it's natural hair. At the end of the day, even though they're teeny locks they're still that straight hairs everywhere, so you want to just comb through them every day and make sure they're detangled um, but yeah um. It'S just been budding. I have one in the back. That'S pretty much fully locked um, the ones in the back have been doing very well and um. There are a couple in the front that have locked too in the middle. It'S pretty much well. I have some ends that have you know locked pretty much starting with the end and if y'all don't know, that's where the locking process starts at the end of the hair and it works its way up so advantages disadvantage, advantages, obviously, freedom, time, freedom every day, i Wake up, i literally don't have to do anything to my hair. If i want to do cornrows the night before just to look cute like i did last night, i do that for some crinkles and they were still wet. When i woke up and um, let me tell you something: if you woke up with a wet twist out with loose natural hair, it's not going to turn out the way you want it, but with sister locks, even with failed style attempts, you still have a style That looks beautiful, even if you don't even style your hair, even if you just wake up now, i'm not promoting, not uh, putting a silk bonnet on, or at least using a satin cap or a pillow case. That'S not what i'm saying, but it wouldn't even matter. If you didn't style it the night before, because it looks beautiful okay, so that is an advantage. Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, a lot of people, don't talk about how expensive it is to be natural. It'S cheaper to be relaxed than it is to be natural, and i don't promote relaxed hair if you're a person like me who wants to embrace their natural hair, embracing their natural hair and keeping the integrity of their natural hair, meaning keeping the real authentic hair. But not having to deal with the maintenance, the day-to-day maintenance sister locks, slash micro locks are for you, i'm telling you right now and a lot of people don't want to go through the ugly phase. Maybe your hair isn't as thick and you don't want to go through that scalpy chicken puck look. But let me tell you when you get to even the six month mark your hair is gon na change drastically you're, not manipulating it you're, not combing it. It'S just growing. Okay. As far as re-tightening i have been self-maintaining ever since june 10th of 2021, and i've been doing a damn chore good um. There was one miss hat where there is a video on my channel, where i had created a knot in my lock, and i still have that knot. It was too tight for me to undo the lock um, so that was one mishap and that was like 10 months in, and that was just me simply not paying attention other than that. You know, and there were locks that were married. But once you marry a lock the moment you catch it, you have to unmarry it again because then, which will happen is you have mary locks and you're gon na have to cut it chip at it now you're chipping at your hair, and then that can cause One individual lock to get thinner and thinner and eventually fall out, so you want to be careful with that again best decision ever i've been self retightening and just maintaining it all by myself, um as there's only one investment and that one investment has literally changed the Way, i move guys way. I the confidence level that i have with being myself. If y'all don't know, i was a wig where i have went through my wig phase for about like a year. Maybe excuse me if you see this like right here, disclaimer stye, i'm dealing with it now i got it taken care of, but anyway i was a wig wearer and i felt more confident because i felt like i got the i don't want to say attention, but I did get people saw the beauty in me. I felt i guess i saw the beauty in me. I felt with um, looser texture hair, but really all it was was just i'm gon na be totally transparent with you guys, i like wearing my natural hair, but when i wore wigs, i i noticed a difference in how society treated me as an individual, because i Was a natural hair wearer and i would switch back to wigs and i would see the difference. There was a stark difference. Assimilating more to european textures does help you in society, i'm not even gon na lie, but as far as just day-to-day going through life type of situation. For me that's my experience, but i don't want to get too off topic. I was a wig wearer and the confidence that i had with the wig because it was more manageable, easier and it brought out the features in me. Um and the wigs i would wear were like deep curly, wigs malaysian curly stuff like that brazilian curly hair stuff. Like that, it brought out the natural features in my face more, and it just made me, have a more softer look, and that was what i was feeding for and when i found out what sister locks were keep in mind, i didn't find that out until three Months prior to getting the installation so once i found out i already signed up, it was no talking me out of it. I didn't care about no pluck chicken look, which is like the grids where you can see the grids and stuff in your hair. I didn't care about any of that. I wanted that. Look because it looks so beautiful. It looks so aesthetically aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and i just knew that it would work. For me, i was a person who mostly wear wore their natural hair, and this for me, i just knew was gon na, be a great decision and if you want like, like, i said, if you want to keep the integrity of your hair while still having a Sort of polished look every day um without having to wear wigs, not having to worry about the problem with wigs is i don't feel like myself? That'S the issue, and also i don't have the freedom of, for example, jumping into a pool if you wanted to. If your husband wanted to, i don't know, pull your hair, i don't know like things like that or anything really involving worriedness about hair. That'S one thing that we already have a lot of problems in our life. Our hair needs to be the last and us women. Us african-american women as black women, we put too much of our energy in our hair and i get it but there's ways out of it, and this is one okay. Sisterlocks is one of the ways this deluxe marker locks, sing thing: okay, it's the same thing: teeny locks locks in general really, but if you want a look that looks or mimics your natural hair, the best, this is it for you. I love it. I love it. I love it as far as the update i do see like in the middle of my loc. I will occasionally have unraveling going on, and that is one of the cons when you start your hair off with twist you're going to unravel, and it's so funny because the ends will be totally locked and then the middle will be open. So what i do is just go ahead and twist the lock back in and then sometimes take the end and loop it through and do an interlock pattern once and that should do it. Sometimes i just twist it i don't even do the interlock pattern but yeah. I do want to just discuss the disadvantages of having micro locks. Of course, self retightening can be a daunting task, especially if you have over 400 locks and you have thick long locks and you're doing it yourself. That is going to be time consuming. So i usually take a whole weekend dedicated to my hair. That'S only every eight weeks, i'm starting to do it a little bit sooner now that i've taken like biotin um, that's really been helping. My hair grow and i've been seeing it one pro before we get into the con. You can actually see the rate of which your hair grows. It'S kind of like having to protect the style but forever so you're able to determine. When is the right time to get re-tightenings, it all depends on you, your individual hair growth cycle, the lint you have to watch out for the lint um it loves to get trapped in to and embed into the locks. Lint is inevitable to avoid that's all over us. It'S in our environment, it's on the back seat of our car head rest, it's on the scarves and clothes that we bare in our jackets and our coats it's everywhere. So this is one reason why i just love to comb out my hair shake it out and you can literally um shake out some lint and not have it embedded now. Lint is not a huge problem for me, but when i see and when i see it embedded, i make sure to just gently: take it apart and get the um what's called lint out. You can use tweezers if you want to if it's super embedded, but my hair is not locked completely, so i don't need to do that. It should be fine. Another con that i've noticed is that my hair in the sunlight kind of looks gray instead of black, and i would like my hair to be jet dark black, and i wish i would have dyed it before. There'S a close-up of the bunning. By the way before i um would have installed the locks, but it's totally fine. I can do it, it's not a huge con, but it is something that i want eventually just dark hair. I think that looks super sexy. I don't know what do y'all think. I love colors, though i love seeing on other people, but i know that requires maintenance, and this is a low maintenance to offer me. I don't want too much going on, so i feel like i've rambled too much if you've watched this far leave a heart in the comments. Please, and thank you all so much for supporting this channel. I really appreciate it and give me a like subscribe for more content, and i hope you all have a wonderful blessed evening. Okay, if you are debating america locks, please please know that you won't regret it as long as you're taking good care of it. You find a good loctition if you're not going to sell free, tighten that that really stretches the health of your hair find a location, that's really good, with natural anyway unraveling. Thank you guys so much for watching. I'M gon na give y'all 360 and i'll see you later peace. If you're on your come own uh uh, uh, uh,

Dana Lynnette: ❤️ Hi Tee! I enjoyed your video. TFS! Your hair was gorgeous before you loc’d, and it is gorgeous now! I’m further along than you, but your length is goals! Also, you can color your hair black using a rinse/semipermanent hair color instead of a harsh dye. It hasn’t impacted my Locs negatively at all. Happy hair journey and God bless!

MY Beasley: Hey Tee! Great to see you! Locs looking great!

Jaelyn Nyleaj: Loc goals! Also did you paint the picture in the background? It’s beautiful
