At home silk press, salon blowout, diy blow out, curly to straight routine

Hey y'all, what's up and welcome back to another video today, i'm going to be showing y'all, how i do my at home, diy, silk, presses and, as y'all can see, the flow is real. So before we get into exactly how i do my silk press, here's a list of items you're going to need, of course, a comb that is heat traceable, a brush in order to brush out your hair you're going to need some heat protectant. I use two different kinds. This one is by tresemme, it's really good, it's really lightweight, and then i also use the blowout cream by design essentials. This stuff right here is a major key. I really feel like it's the reason that my curls were burnt and then you're also going to need some type of holding spray or setting spray. Well, you know what i mean also going to need a hot comb, a flat iron. Of course, these are the ones i use all of the items that i'm showing y'all will be linked down below as well, and this right here is gon na make your life so much easier promise. I promise you, of course, a wrap cap and a bonnet and a scarf to tie your hair down okay. So now, let's get into this process like i showed y'all, this hair dryer will save your life entirely um if you're wondering why i'm going so slow or why it's taking so long for me to kind of blow through all of my hair. It'S because i was using a low setting. I had just dyed my hair, this exact same day after bleaching. It twice so you know for, for safety reasons and precautionary reasons. I went ahead and used a low setting and yeah. It took a little second, but it was still much faster than using a regular blow dryer. Also something else i want to note about the blow dryer is that if you use it on 85 percent dry hair, it's a lot faster than using it on a completely saturated head, so just a little pro tip. Okay. So now the t on this here: silk press okay. So i start off on fully clarified hair. I use a clarifying shampoo um. The one i use is by carol's daughter, it's so good, and it makes my hair so hydrated, but still light weight, and i found that that's really important when doing a silk press is to not have heavy products on your hair, or else your stuff will come Out a little stiff on this day after i washed and conditioned my hair, i just split it into four sections and i am blow drying in those same four sections and as you can see, i go back and forth between each side. So i blow dry one side until it's kind of straight enough. I twist it up and then i blow dry like the front of my head and then i go back to the back and i like get it as straight as possible so that i don't have to make so many passes with my flat iron, because i do Use a high heat on my flat iron so just to limit the amount of direct heat onto my hair. I um just blow dry it twice so just to clarify. I do blow dry each section twice to get it straight, but not bone straight, because i am going to go in with my flat iron. If you can name this song, then i will send you a dollar, maybe not. But and although these clips, i don't know how fast they seem to y'all, but this took me literally 30 minutes blow drying. My hair in the past used to take me 45 minutes to an hour but blow drying. My whole head twice took me 30 minutes and i was on the phone with my best friends while i was doing it, so it was a good time for those of you who don't know i live in texas. It gets very hot, so touching those roots is important and i didn't necessarily want to put the flat iron all the way to my scalp. So i just you know, took a step back, went back to the old days for a second and used my hot comb on my roots and y'all. If you can see my face when i was high combing and flat ironing and everything i'd be so scared. I'D be so scared not to freaking burn myself because trauma. Thank you. I feel like it's important to note that the hot comb was not on the hottest setting. It has three levels and i had it on level one i believe, a little tip for the girlies who may have 4c hair but similar length is mine. Girl pre-stretch, your hair. Oh, my goodness, if you try to blow dry your hair, while it's pre-stretched and like 80 dry, like i said this method works the same for you like your hair, will still come out, flowy and everything. So you know just a little tip. I don't have horsey hair, but i have done blowouts on people who have horsey hair. So that's why i'm? You know getting a little protein whatever there is a lot of heat going on here, um, as you can see the smoke coming from my hair, my room smelled just like a beauty shop, but i did blow dry um on a low setting as well as use. My hot comb on a lower setting, so i was kind of comfortable um using my flat iron on the highest setting. I used it on for 450. I believe 425 um and i only did one pass and, as you can see, your girl is bone straight. Okay, so one pass is all it takes. The company knew exactly what they were talking about when they named it the one stroke flat iron for a reason, and it really wasn't as expensive as some of those other flat irons. Be i girl, i can't do it. Okay, i'ma stick with my old, faithful. I love her. I got her from sally's and i also will leave a link down below for y'all as well. My vlog knows the exact story about how and why i like to suppress and do my hair myself um. So ever since i've been natural, i have been doing my own soap presses, literally for about five years now. How long have been natural, seven years girl it's been seven years since 2015, that's crazy, but yeah. I just don't trust um very many salons to take care of my hair, and i know that the products that i use are very protective. I'Ve been using them since i've been doing my own blowouts and i've never had a problem with my curls reverting back. So this is a very good method, for my hair. Definitely try it out on your own. Take your time. I do trim my ends. I ended up cutting off five inches. Actually after this video, that's not really a big deal. For me, my hair was already um like past mid back and i ended up just cutting it to a healthier length that was in the center of my bag, because i hadn't had a real haircut in seven years, so my girl needed it here is how my Final, like press came out, and then i went ahead and wrapped my hair. I always do this. I feel like this is why my stuff stays so nice for so long. I wrap it and then once i pin it down which all i'm gon na see in a second, i end up spraying whatever holding spritz. I have at the moment just around the part that is kind of open, because those are usually like the ends. I use two wrap caps instead of just one and then i tie down girl, you got ta secure the bag, and this is just the reality of living in texas. This was about a week later, but it was still looking good, so yeah, that's how i do my diy silk presses, i hope y'all enjoyed, make sure y'all stay tuned and, as always, i will see y'all in my next video
