A light, clean trim for beginner's (like me) on women's hair!

Scissors: https://TipsForClipsHair.com/store-1/s...

Welcome to a very special edition of tips for clips, where I'm gon na trim my beautiful wipes hair for the first time and if you're stuck at home and have a similar problem, this videos for you and here's, a quick sneak peek at the finished result. You'Ll just need a pair of scissors, some hair ties and a hairbrush so first part her hair down the middle and then you're gon na part. The hair right at the center of the ear and you're gon na do this on both sides and then all of the hair that you have left in the back. You'Re gon na put up in a ponytail and then after you have the ponytail you're going to take some of the hair from the front that frames. The face and you're gon na hold that here, and this is gon na, be where we make our first trim. An absolute rule that you will use throughout is be careful and be cautious, so you don't want to cut off too much, so I'm gon na cut off about an inch and a half here, and this is the hair. That'S gon na frame her face. I'Ve watched a few YouTube videos myself and I've learned a couple of tips here, and this is the best that I've come up with, so you just cut straight across and then every time after you make a cut you're gon na want to do. What'S called a point cut you see here, I'm just slipping back and forth vertically right in the direction of the hair, this sort of feathers out and lightens up the hair at the bottom instead of making it look like an abrupt chop for all the husbands watching This apparently there's something called dead ends at the bottom of women's hair, which means there's sort of like split and frayed, and that's all you're trying to get rid of in this haircut next. We'Re just gon na take that hair back and what we just cut is now gon na be used as our guideline and I'm gon na show you exactly what I mean here as I comb her hair back. I'M gon na see some hair sticking up right there. That'S where we just cut so what you want to do is cut about an inch and a half under where you just cut way. You don't want to inhalation, you're gon na cut straight across and then again, every time after we cut straight across we're just gon na point cut it just as I'm doing right now to feather it out to lighten it up exact same thing on the other side, Find where your guide is and go an inch and a half under that. So the guides are the same exact length because it was the same cut at the beginning. So you want to make sure that the inch and a half that you're estimating is as precise as you can be and the way to check it is, after this step check the hair along the face, that's framing the face and make sure it's the same length On both sides, as we've been doing once, you cut make sure you point cut afterwards to feather that out. Next you're going to undo the ponytail in the back and you're gon na divide the hair right down the center front and back and you're gon na brush the hair to the side. Take the hair in your hands, just like we did before you're gon na find your guidelines. You see that guideline right there that I just showed you and again you're gon na cut about an inch and a half under that guideline. Try to be as precise as you can here and then point cut as usual and notice here, I'm not necessarily layering the hair. This is very basic, just getting a trim and getting rid of any dead ends at the bottom of the hair. Same thing. On the other side, you're going to brush through the hair, and when you see that hair popping out from where you're previously cut you're gon na go about an inch and a half under there. And the whole point is that stepwise we're framing the face? We'Re framing the hair to go from shorter in the front to a little bit longer in the back. I know for most of us guys. We can't really tell the difference, but this hair is healthier now, because all of that ends are cut, but you can at least tell it looks a lot better and the final step now is going to be brushing all the hair and seeing, if anything is sticking Out and cutting just straight across the bottom, making sure that nothing is choppy, that everything is nice and straight. You don't want to cut too much here, because you don't want to mess up what you feathered, but just evening things out and there you have it. A very simple trim again be careful, be cautious. I am NOT responsible for any arguments that may ensue as a result of this video, but do give it a try. DavinFl: Thanks very much. I had watched many videos but yours hit it spot on. First time she let me do it and we are very happy with results. Getting ready to celebrate 50th anniversary in two days. I appreciated simplicity and calmness in the way you worked with your wife. May you have many years of fun.

Jeff Menowsky: This made it very easy to cut my girlfriends hair. Thank you for sharing your skill and explaining it so well. I did way better than I thought! Thank you!

Louis Danes: Thank you for your excellent video! Very much appreciated! I am a 74 yr. old man, and this was my first time ever to try to cut my wife's hair. Your video was most helpful & helped me be a success! She is happy and I am happy--all is well at the house!

Mika Bäckström: I've used this already twice, today is the third try out. So far so good, thanks for the tips, this is super simple.

jinhh1: What an adorable couple! Your wife looks so happy to have a hair cut from you!

Samantha 💛: I’ve used this video so many times to do my hair. Thanks so much. No need to go pay someone to do it for me anymore. This is so easy and looks great every time

Shawn Silkensen: Thanks for the tips! my wife has cut my hair three times since March, and with this video I was able to return the favor! She's super happy with the results.

Jman36x: Needed help since it was first time cutting my wife's hair, came out great thanks your instructions

Deborah Swinton: My husband and I watched this video (your wife is gorgeous!), and he trimmed my hair. He did a great job! Thanks for the clear instructions.

Ashley: Thank you for this video! I learned to cut my boyfriend's hair during the pandemic and cut it every other week, so I've now asked him to cut my hair as well. The way you explain it makes it seem less daunting for both of us.

Steve VanWinkle: I hacked through my first cut ( still married) but now I see how to do it right. Your wife is adorable and has similar hair to my wife's. Thank you !

Mohit Rahaman: Thanks. I have been following your directions since last year and it has been a great help during this quarantine.

Sachin Hadalgi: Liked the video. Will be trying this in an hour. Seems simple enough and well explained. This is exactly what husbands need at the moment. Like the cautionary statement in the end

Phil R: Thank you for a very simple entry video. I have now cut my wife's hair three times and I like to review this video before I start for the fundamentals. She is very happy with the results, not really to my credit but to the video you made. Yep its still not a salon cut and I am sure she will enjoy that when her regular reopens but for now this method makes her happy and no fights.

amala r: I LOVE the nervous expression on your wife’s face.. Hilarous and so apt ! I’m gonna try this and ask my husband to trim my hair

Wt Dolenti: Perfect. Thank you so much. I cut my wife's hair tonight using your system. We're both happy; no arguments at all.

dcairns61: Tried this out on my wife's hair. Still married ;D It came out pretty good, but I somehow took a bit more off the sides than intended, but it worked :)

Keri Hatgirl: Kudos for giving her a trim using real hair shears and a cape. My husband trims my hair for me every other month, I take a seat on the stool, get caped, he combs out my hair with a wide tooth comb starting from the ends and working his way up. He sections my hair just behind my ear on each side, then he pins up my hair with hair clips, leaving the bottom layer down. He has me tilt my head down and he trims that to establish the guide, then he lets my very thick hair down in 1/2” increments to trim each successive layer. He does it in this manner as if he tried to cut through too much hair at once, the blades will push the hair before they cut leaving it uneven. I see in your video it looked like your shears were not cutting well, and that was because you were cutting through too much of her thick hair at once. He has me turn my head to each side to trim my hair on the sides to match the hair from the back, he then checks evenness by holding the hair from each side under my chin. It takes him about twenty minutes total to trim my elbow length hair, less time than it would take to drive to a salon. He takes off about an inch to remove split/damaged ends and keep my hemline neat. It saves me time, hundreds of dollars and I don’t have to get dressed up or put on any makeup for it.

Mizzle Pizzle: This guide is great! Of course, first time cutting my wife's hair during lockdown, she wanted to tell me how to do it--her instructions were too detailed for an amateur like me and the result was meh. Next time, I'm following your guidance.

Random Retro plays: Great video. I've been cutting mens hair at home for years but my wife wants me to trim her hair so this is sure to help.

ColdHawk: Thank you to you and your lovely wife! She has a lovely smile and you have the courage of a lion. I have put this off for months and my wife has finally forced me to commit. Quaking in my boots!

D&B TV Medical High-LiFe: As a Liscensed Professional Barber you did a Good Job and Used Great terminology

Aaron Cohn: Try this at your own risk. I was able to cut my own hair just fine after watching one of the videos from this channel. I even taught my girlfriend to cut my hair, and she nailed it. But that didn’t prepare me to cut her hair properly, and neither did this video. I followed the instructions carefully, but there is no substitute for experience. My girlfriend’s hair is much thicker than the hair of the author’s wife, so it didn’t go so nice like you see in the video, with the scissors cutting nicely through each section of hair. The length of the hair changes as it goes from the top of the head to the bottom, so if you hold it out away from the head in one big clump like you see in the video, then you won’t be cutting an even length. As soon as you let it fall down naturally, then it’s going to look very uneven. Also, the steps that he gives, going down an inch and a half for each section from front to back, led to a really obvious step pattern in the haircut. Long story short, we had to go get it fixed by a professional. My advice, if you are gonna attempt this on your girlfriend or wife, then cut as little as possible. Otherwise just pay the money and have it done by someone who know what they’re doing. You’ll probably end up doing that anyway ;-)

nico: I had hoped a year ago that I wouldn't have to watch this again to cut my wife's hair again, but here we are. Thank you.

Robin Goodrow: You did a great job. I envy how beautiful and thick your hair is...Here's what happened when my husband cut my hair...I was very nervous BUT I really needed a haircut so what's a person to do!! You can see the results here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbY-4H4r1Lc in a 2 minute video called HUBBY HAIRCUT. Now that I've had some time to live with it I actually like it alot. DeVoetion: Your girl looks so stressed at first bout to start my girls now

Grace Justice: Easiest way for men to cut straight length for women: 1. Wet hair very well. 2. Buy 2 tight, slim #10 hairdresser combs on amazon. Buy pro hairdresser scissors - never use them for anything but hair cutting. Best scissors is the #1 tool to get pro haircut. 3. Comb all hair back from the crown back, sides back. No long hair should be on the front unless they are too short to pull back. 4. Take those 2 slim hairdresser combs, and place 1 behind the line of hair in the back then 2nd comb will face the 1st comb. The spines of each should be on the outside opposite of each other meaning the spine of the comb under the hair faces the neck and the spine of the 2nd comb faces you. the combs should lock into each other like a zipper. 5. Now with the combs in place, pull the hair gently down, in a straight manner to the length you desire. Make her stand or sit up to ensure her shoulders are straight. 6. Now while the combs hold the hair, hold onto the combs without moving your hand and cut from right to left. Check if you got everything straight across. 7. Remove the combs. 8. Separate the hair into 4 quadrants the front ones start at the front of the head and go behind the ear. The back quadrants start at the back of the ear and end in the middle of the back of the head. You will work with each individually. 9. Standing behind her, take one of the front quadrants and comb hair up and over the head (think comb over for men), holding onto all of the hair. When you are at the top center of her head, make sure that you got all of her hair lined up from that quadrant then comb over and down to her chin level or ear level depending on the length of hair. Take your left hand while you're sweeping over and straight down and now slide it at 45 degree towards her chin. Cut off everything on the outside of your hand. Same for the other side. This will create layers when you flip it back over. 10 Do the same for the back, pick a quadrant, now these two will sweep diagonally across her head so take left quadrant and sweep across to the right ear, move hand straight down to her ear or chin slide towards chin at 45 degrees, cut everything on the outside of the hand. The goal is to repeat the same thing with the other quadrant. If you cut on the inside of your hand, make sure you repeat the same thing with all quadrants. Comb back to place. Now she should have nice layers. 11. If you want the back to bow and me round vs. straight, make her look down and her chin will move towards her chest, hold it there while you cut a half moon meaning leave the furthest left and right sides the longest, cut from right to left a shallow half moon shape circle or oval let's say cutting half an inch into the center of the back of her head. What happens when she straightens her head is the middle will drape creating a reversed circle of what you were cutting (it will get longer). And that's it. Easier than the above video.
