Original "How To Trim Your Side Burns - For Men Guys With Long Hair: https://youtu.be/4_xTaPUgiC0

What'S up longheads great to see you el moreno here and today we're gon na talk a little bit about our sideburns yeah. This is one that's easy to forget, especially if you wear your hair down all the time. Those pesky little wings flying out the side, become real evident when you're getting ready to go to a fancy formal occasion or out with a hot lady, and you pull your hair back and the wings are just flying out just like that. They look awful. In the words of el rubio, we don't want that, and you don't want that exactly. None of us want that now. This isn't my first time covering this topic on this channel back in 2016, and i dropped a pretty hilarious. How to trim your sideburn video that actually went pretty big. The tips were there, but there was controversy. I got a little hot loose with the clippers towards the end. I made a decision to completely change my identity shave off my beard, and we got some hilarious comments on that post. You go from guitar player to weird guy at the library. Title should be how to make yourself look like a woman in less than 10 minutes. How'D this happen from a viking god to a weirdo. You are so thanked. You look so much better with the beard. Don'T ever shave your beard again. I promise you. I will not shave my beard in this one, but why not take a little refresher course go back over some of the details and maybe some of the new tricks and tips that i've learned since i last published that video hey guys drop a thumbs up if You'Re new here subscribe to the channel, we're always putting out great hair content. So why not go ahead and hit the little bell notification there? I know everybody says it, but do it because you love it. So, let's get into it all right there. It is the pesky sideburns, the wings, looking sloppy as hell. First things. First guys tie your hair back loosely and just make sure you really clearly identify what it is that you're going to cut anytime you're going to cut your own hair. It'S always great to have confidence in exactly what you're going to cut off and that's what i'm doing here, tools you're going to need for the job, i'm going to use a buzzer beard trimmer, whatever you want to call it. It'S got a number three guard on there and you could do scissors if you like. I like the beard trimmer, though, because it's less likely, i'm gon na make a mistake and it's a lot easier and faster than scissors. Okay, let's clearly identify where the long hair is and where the sideburns are so look at that this is like our goal line. If you will take your thumbs, grab your hair and tie it as tight as you can to the sides of your head. This is going to really make sure that that line is defined and that you can easily distribute the sideburns away from the long hair. I mean look at that line. It'S easy to see. So now i fire up the trimmer and i let it rip with the guard. You can have some confidence about going up above that line now also take note and pay close attention to how i'm really pointing it upward and i'm using more of the bottom of the trimmer and the path i'm taking with. It is going up above that line that allows me to trim all the sideburns smoothly up to the line that we have identified again. Let'S switch to the other side and let's let her rip, there's the line very clear make some final adjustments make sure we got all the hair there and go again pay attention to that path. It goes up above the long hair. Oh, i might have snagged one there, but don't worry it's all good tuck. It back you're good to go and look i'm still going up above that line, but what it does is it ensures i'm getting everything below it and that's why the trimmer with the guard is so nice. Okay, now we're getting into hot water here we're taking the guard off, don't get too hot and loose. This is where i messed up last time, boys, but the guards off so that we can get those little tiny, flyaways, the ones behind the ears, the little one stringers or whatever you got hanging out. You need to take the guard off to get those and you barely even need to touch them watch this boom barely make contact, and that is just evaporated. So take it slow, be easy. Take your time here with the no guard and just make sure you get every single one of those little hairs out there. If you need to rub your finger from the back of your hair to the front to you know, pull it all out, then do it and just get them all, because you want to look clean, you don't want one rogue one or two loose hairs. Just flying out just a few seconds good to go and the beard is intact. We'Re dialed! Well, that's it! What do you think? Obviously, production value is better than the last time we did this. If you want to go, have a couple laughs go watch that old video the links down in the description and uh guys hope your sideburns are looking sharp, i'm very happy with the results, they're feeling good they're. Looking good. Now, when i wear my hat too and i tuck them back like this, i don't got the wings taking me off flying me away now. I know what some of you are thinking. Maybe it's a little bit too short, but look i like to go a little bit shorter here because they grow back so dang fast and just less maintenance. The shorter you go, give yourself a little bit more time. Maybe it's not exactly how you want it to look the first week but guarantee you week, two it's gon na be stellar, so guys. I appreciate you watching this video as always head on over to longhairs.us get yourself some of our world famous hair ties for guys and hey if you're, not a guy, don't worry strong enough for a woman ph balanced for a man thanks for just hanging out. Man drop us a comment, anything funny. You got, we love to hear it. You can't hurt our feelings, all right, guys till the next time. Soon.

John Doe: Managing my sideburns (and optionally the short hair in the neck) also greatly motivate me to keep growing it out. A mayor concern to me was that long hair doesnt look "presentable" and looks kinda lazy, but a quick 10 minutes every 2 weeks or so makes a massive difference and motivates me to not cut it all short! Almost two years growing now!

spothus: Thank you, I am 61 and I am growing my hair out after decades of short crop hair. The only thing bothering me is my sideburns. I watched your video and cut them. I think it looks better thank you.

Fahad S: I'm always worried that I'll accidentally end up trimming some of the longer hairs when trimming sideburns, but, you make it look easy lol

Aaron Hall: Any advice on defining that line between actual long hair and sideburns as the hair grows out?

Thomas from My Girl: In the process of growing my hair out…. Seven months and going strong in the awkward phase. I wish I would have watched this before I tried to do my normal sideburn beard blending technique. At about the three month mark I ended up hacking into my hair a bit and it looked pretty awful. I tried to wait it out to see if it would grow out a bit and look better but unfortunately there was just no saving it. I had to go to my barber and get it blended. With the combination of me hacking into my hair and the blending I lost a few precious months of hard earned growing. Super frustrating at the seven month mark, because my hair should be starting to go over my ears and it just doesn’t. I definitely set myself back a few months from being able to tie my hair back and getting out of the awkward stage. My advice to anybody growing from a buzz cut that also keeps a beard is just to let it grow until you’re hair is long enough to kind of lay over that drastic line where you’re beard/sideburns begin and hair starts. Or leave it to the professionals. They call it the awkward stage for a reason

Eric Hollaway: Fun story. I’m growing my hair out and had massive awful wings like this because I’ve always had no idea where my head hair ended and beard hair began. So I mulled it over in my head and did exactly what you did here, and now I’m thanking god I did it right lol. Tucked the long hair back behind my ears and went up there exactly as you did with a 5mm guard. It came out looking so nice and now I won’t have goofy wings when I wear my hats with my hair tucked behind my ears.

Jonathan Meola: I cannot wait to have long hair and a ponytail. It will feel so rewarding. This was really great information on sideburns.

Integra DIY: I loved this video thanks. I do the same thing, only difference I like to cut the “wings” the same length as my beard, which my sideburns area is no more than a 1/4” long then tapers longer towards my chin. Cutting off the “wings” even FEELS better and cleaner. I didn’t even know about the wings at first, and just tried to tuck them away lol after cutting them I’m discovered how clean it looked, now I see this video and this proves it looks so much better cut!

stevechambers500: I usually just tie the hair back, and hold the side hair out of the way with one hand, while I buzz/trim the sideburns with my other hand. Pretty much get the same result. I'll have to keep the "no guard" step in mind next time tho.

JPH: Thank you for this video just what I needed!!!. I have to trim my sides as well

Berkay Mert: Wow! Can't believe 5 years have passed since the older sideburn video. Time goes so fast.

Zakyuel: Man, You don’t know how much Your tips saved my life thank goodness! Way to go man You got a sub!!!

Nateice113: Thank you very much. I don't really know how to cut my long thick hair, I always get a buzzcut. Now I can test this method out on my own. I really want to grow out my hair...

Range Wilson: Dude, it's easier if you keep SOME length in the sideburns. I use a 7mm guard and touch them up once every couple of weeks. It takes like 2 minutes. Then every once in a while I fade some of the medium hairs above my sideburns, which looks pretty cool. THAT idea might be worth another video.

Popcorn Sutton: I'm still in the early stages of growing out my hair and I have massive "wings" but the problem is I cannot grow sideburns. So it looks very BAD if i were to cut the wings. I'm kind of stuck wondering if I should even do this at all now because I look so poor with a patchy ugly beard and it looks weird if I were to pull my hair back behind my ears and there's no hair there.

xorbe2: First time growing my hair out, sideburns driving me nuts, this is the first video google search suggests. I dunno if I did a great job, but the situation is lots better that's for sure.

CorbettK42: I need to this today, my wings make me look like I'm about to take off at any moment!

Donny McJonny: Mine get curly and I been rocking them long for years and just tuck them behind my ears. Glasses help keep them pinned back, but I started wearing contacts more and having too many blowouts. Did this with scissors today and instantly looks better when pulled back

Game Changer: I pretty much used scissors to trim mine when I was growing my hair, and funny how I find a tutorial from this channel 6 months ago and 6 years ago.

Celebrate Crypto: This is actually cutting off your side burns and chopping off some of your long hair. If you grew your side burns out and then lined them up you would see what I’m talking about.

senseixmartin: Just keep growing Martin! You’ll have long hair in no time!

Tyler Turden: So scared to do it. I’ve avoided doing this for two years.

tg: I have very thick hair, including my sideburns. Should I just grow my sideburns out to be the same length as the rest of my hair?

Raymond C: Wish my barber new how to do my sideburns without snagging my hair. Every time I get a shape up I take my bun out and there's always a bunch of extra hair that comes out that shouldn't

Peter Henry: This is helpful. I now know how to fix the "wings." Thanks

Angel E: Needed this!

Patric: I’ve only used tiny scissors. I’ll have to give this a try.

Joey P: Wow, finally someone who has a beard like mine. Much thicker on the left side, right? Wonder if you have any videos about that…

whatchu lookin at?: I usually just shave those off with a razor, and just as you said it grows out fast.

Eagle28: I have super long hair I get it braided before I ride the Harley and it does help with tangled hair but it still gets tangled is there any spray or something you can recommend that can help with the knots and tangled hair shampoo and conditioner doesn’t seem to help either

Ozzy Albor: Appreciate this video so much!!!!!

King Viserys: Why not use your other hand to pull your long hair up and out of the way so you have a clear definition of where the sideburns start/stop? Seems silly to let the hair lay there and risk cutting it when you have another hand doing nothing

Austin Hess: Have you done a video on the neck line trim?

Pranav Ghuge: Thanks you so so much just what I needed lots of love from India

DJ cuellar: After having long hair for almost 2 yrs now. I still have no idea how any of you with long hair wears hats cause they all just slide off my head cause all my hair

Austin Hess: Thank you so much by the way

Alessandro: I love these videos

Eric: I'm pretty Lucky, my sideburns get pretty long so I can tuck them behind my ear and problems solved!

Tim From L.A.: I have to apologize; I sort of neener neener you guys when you did your video on neck hair and said that being Asian, I don't have neck hair. Now you're talking about sideburns, and mine is much longer than El Moreno. I also hate it when I eat dinner when a breeze blows behind my back and the pesky haIr lands in my mouth and eyes. Thanks for the video El M Man.

m1k3y0n3: What do you do if your hair is just a tad to short to tie back

Raymond O’Toole: Nice one

Max Alpert: Will try!

Po Savea: I hate sideburn wings! Thank u for ur channel

Grants Feed: Just trimmed mine tonight!

Dominic Lake: I use an afro comb to trim my sideburns, I don't trust the guard on the clippers, tie my long hair back and put the comb through the SBs and clipper them down with an unguarded clipper.

bojuification: Aww man. I have had the wings for so long i even got a nickname from someone i knew. They called me wingnut. Hahhahahahah I really have to get rid of these.

Gary M: What if I left my side burns grow to where I can put them behind my ear? I'd like to have the least amount of maintenance as possible. I'm no where near where I want to be I'm about to enter the awkward stage

Lucas Rogers: First, great video! Second, are you invisible?! People are walking right behind you and not acknowledging your existence ,then getting their hair did!!

Sky So Few: The Viking God has RETURNED!!!!?

PSEUDOCIDE: Awesome video mate:)

Colin Helpio: I needed this!

Red Dragon: I think it's better to grow the sideburns out. I just tuck them behind my ears.

Kate KaPOW: "Now pay close attention" *camera keeps focussing on person in background* :(

IAmTheJesus01: Is 3,7 cm normal for almost 3 month hair growth ?

Nick B: I need a long hair, long beard tutorial!

Jake Eppink: Bro looks like me if I had 3x the testerone as I do now

SynthRockViking: I vibe to that technique

PSEUDOCIDE: And the hairs looking suave mate:)

I Hate Dill: <3

Gabriel Ynso: Boom was satisfying

win will wander: Don't listen to them. People always judge someone else just by appearances or the opinion of others. Personally I think you also look good without beard.

Blake Uribe: Fucked mine up. I have long curly hair I did what you did but worse Didn’t put my hair up just used a tshirt to get it out of my face because I was feeling lazyI saw my curly hair poking out but thought I could work around. Nope
