Flat Ironing, Curling, And Measuring His Long Hair

Hey welcome back everybody. Welcome back to uh, keep the hang with the root pack. Today crystal is going to flat iron, my hair for the very first time. I know some of you guys been uh waiting for that so uh. Let'S begin for the victory lap, though whoa, hey y'all, so like hector explained, he's never put any kind of heat on his hair, so it's gon na be kind of interesting to see uh what happens. His hair is pretty straight um, naturally straight, but because he's never put in the heat, i'm gon na use um a flat ironing protection spray like this one by garnier, and i also want to just see i use this one on my own self um. So i want to see if this one's a little bit better than this one for him and you'll want to use a protection, a heat protector anytime, you put heat on your hair, including blow drying, so that you don't get any split ends, and you know the Heat can have an adverse effect on your hair, okay, so what i did was i parted his hair in kind of like a medium part across straight across and i'll just spray. So you want to just spray it all the way down and then comb it through a little bit and that's it try to use. If you have not so straight hair, then you want to do smaller sections like with my super curly hair um. I usually blow dry it first kind of and it gets like really puffy and a little straighter, but it's still textured and then i do um a half an inch to inch size like um like right here, but since hector's is more fine, it's not fine. It'S more um straight and less textured than my hair. Then i could do a little bit bigger sections and we'll just use this kind of um straightener on his hair flat iron on his hair and i'm gon na go up and out after we're done flattering his hair. We'Re going to measure it again. So then, we'll be able to really see what his actual length is and i'm going to go through it um. Actually i don't want to go through it too, much, probably one or two times and that's it you're, not gon na, say anything. Um, that's! Okay! Oh, i forgot to put the stuff on it: oh wow, oh wow, oh wow, i forgot to put the spray on it. Um. I think for the rest of the video i'll, just spray, the whole section um and then do it. So what happened when i forgot to do this put the spray on it. I knew that i didn't put spray because instead of his hair, going slick like this one, it kind of puffed up a little bit - and i was like huh so so remind reminder - always put the. What is it called again? The protection, the heat protector, making protection to your hair right yeah. You want to have it okay, so this is where we're at so far like it hasn't really changed. It does look shiny, looks very shiny. He has healthy hair already so um yeah. It looks really shiny and just a little more silkier a little more silky. So let me go across since we're going to uh measure out your hair babe, like a lot of people on our social media and like on the youtube channel, wants to know if you're like. I know they keep asking and i even want to know how long you're going to grow your hair and, like i know you said uh at least to your knee length, yes um. But the question has been asked many many times if hector's gon na grow it longer than that like to the floor, and so i want y'all to vote and the way you're gon na vote is everyone who wants to um. Excuse me: everyone who wants hector's hair to grow to the floor want whoever wants to encourage hector to grow his hair to the floor. Shall i say, like this: video give it a thumbs up, um and also, of course, subscribe, because that helps us in our channel. But um yeah - i just want to see where everybody's at on that um on him growing it to the floor uh for me. Personally, i will say i would like to see it grow to the floor. Um, that's just my own preference just to see what happens! Um but of course it's up to him wow, mostly we're not asking you to make a decision right now, um, it is a life-changing decision, so it is life-changing decision, but you know i mean you only live once so i mean we'll we'll well right now, my Mind is set on the knees, but who knows my check my mind may change later on and keep it keep it growing, but anyways yeah uh hit us up with some comments and uh. Let me know what should i keep letting the girl? I do have like a little surprise that i want to do um in the next couple. Uh next i'll say. Maybe next two to three weeks and videos um i want to i i don't i don't even say what it is, but it'll kind of help him. We will answer some more of your suggestions: um such as a folded, braid um, curls, uh, there's some other ones that i can't remember, can you remember any babe um we've had a lot of suggestions and i want y'all to know that we did not forget about Your suggestions, but for right now i'm gon na just finish up this um this one, so we can get to the best part which is measuring his hair. So, okay, so i've been using the garnier one, and so now i want to try um this fantasia one. Just to see, if there's a difference, um in his hair so which smell, do you like better um about the one that i used to sound right now, so both of them smell like this one? We like the smell a little bit better um. It has like a like a sweet right, yeah, almost like a sweet, fragrance um, and it also adds a sheen so like a shine to his hair. If you can see it but yeah, it's like a good little shine. So, let's see how it does. When i put the heat on it a little bit there, you go nope you're good. Thank you and you'll see i'm using my um, my comb to go through it first, and then i put this on it, sometimes because it gets tangled at the bottom and the comb kind of helps to straighten it faster. It goes before the flat iron to get all the tables out. Let'S see, if there's any difference, do you feel any difference? Okay, so the um, so the fantasia one leaves your hair. I feel it too. It leaves it feeling a little more silky, smooth and soft yeah. It feels like it conditions it almost and then the other one feels a little more um. I don't know, maybe drier or just like normal. I guess, but if you want to, if you're looking for one that will kind of leave it feeling, like i don't know, it feels like airy, a little more airy and more softer, then i would use this one so from here on out. I'M gon na be using this one on his hair and it smells good too. I know you talked about this. I still smell it, so i'm gon na do a little side. Part um, because i remembered someone had requested that too. So i'm trying to get a couple suggestions in while i'm doing this, i do like the side part on a guy every now and then let's see what do y'all think you, like the side part. Are you a side part type of guy? Not now now, let's see how it looks, the big reveal. I love it wow. What do you guys? Think of the cyclone? I mean the side part. I think it looks good. I like you like it. I like it. I like it too. It'S very nice and slick okay, so for the purposes of measuring i'm going to push it back right now and then um, maybe we'll do a different part and a curl, a quick curl um, since his hair is so straight and nice, we'll do some big barrel. Curls, i think they're called okay. So let's measure it so we have our measuring tape here. Um, i'm going to comb through his hair, um, make sure it's nice and straight and we're going to measure it from baby where you going we're going to measure it from right here all the way down and he changed to white shirt. So y'all can see. Yes, um how his the length of tear and, where i'm measuring it up, so i'm going to turn around okay um. So can you hold the measuring tape? Please thank you. I'M gon na measure it in uh inches because yeah, let's see okay, so i'm gon na grab as much of this hair as i can and because i comb through it already um it should it should just go straight. I do see that his hair needs a little bit of a trim, um and the way i trim it is i just kind of dust it um. Instead of a trim, i actually just dust through it a little bit and cut off a little tiny, tiny bit. This hair usually don't get too many split ends, but we don't want them to start forming that from the shaft. All the way down make sure it's straight and let's see he's at 41 and a half inches 41.5 inches. So we plan on doing this about what every month, or so every maybe six weeks or so um. Okay, so from here i'm going to do a couple curls, i'm not going to do his whole hair curly, but i do want to see it curled um. So maybe in the front we'll curl his hair, so let me adjust the camera and then we'll be right back. So i'm going to take his hair and huh. You know what let's do curls on both sides. While you already have a part, i'm curious to see how that looks, and then we'll do like a side curl like a side part with a curl with the curls okay, i'm gon na take half of this okay, i'm gon na spray a little bit more of This um, even though he has some but just to make sure, he's protected and i'm using this one, which is about a two inch. I haven't curled hair this long so and i don't really curl my hair that much either so. Hopefully i remember how to do it, if not, then i'll just turn all this hair off, i'm just like no and doing your hair, your own hair and doing someone else's hair is like completely different. You know feel like we're doing something. We said something i don't know if it's what i wanted to do, but we did something um. Let me try a little plastic. Let me try instead of going to the top. Let me try the bottom first, if you have any suggestions right like help help assist out, because i can't remember how to do this. I'M gon na have to have my friend come over, who does a lot more hair than me um to do a full curl on his head? Oh okay, okay, i haven't done really long hair before curling it. Okay, it does. It does curl, maybe i'm not keeping it on long enough trial and error, guys trial and error. Okay, i'm gon na try one more time. Let'S see i feel like, maybe i'm just not holding it on long enough yeah. I think i'm rushing it. I kind of like things instantly, you know pictures a lot more patient than i am so long. I don't i don't know. I know how to do it with shorter hair. It'S working, it looks better. You see that curl patience is the virtue huh. I was just trying to go too fast, too anxious to see how your hair looks when it's curled yeah just take it nice and slow. Let'S see, okay, i don't want to like. Do it too long, either? Okay, so we have oh, you should not break the curl up. Your hair does not like the curls, okay, i'm gon na do one more part. I guess i guess to your uh to some people that want you to cut your hair, your rebellious huh, oh yeah. That was a question too um that one of our youtube friends had what like who like what was the question who like do? You have people that, like you, know, talk smack or want you to cut your hair, or you know i think um well, i do you know just like anything else. You know um right right. Sometimes it's also like religious beliefs. You know like okay, guys should have short hair and girls should have long, hair or whatever or where they were raised too, but you know i mean i i try not to let it get to me. No, i mean other than that. You know. I must just keep growing my hair. This is me, my girl and my my and my hair and our kids, who we all like, encourage him and we all like his long hair. So hopefully, he'll make a decision if he's going to grow a tacitus, but, like i said, i have a little trick to kind of help him along the way to figure it out. Okay. So what do you think some pros and cons are to growing your hair? I know um that same friend kind of gave us some advice because he has hair down to his to to the floor yeah. So it was nice to talk to you. I don't know if you want me to say your name, that's why i just keep saying our friend but um yeah. Thank you for kind of answering a lot of the questions that we had and and what not about floor-length hair. So what are some of the pros and cons that you want there are, or what do you think there are? Well i mean he um yeah. I said that he wraps his hair. I mean it doesn't keep him from any outside activities. Yeah we're concerned about that. Uh so it says you know he told me a couple of hairstyles that would help with that um and basically you know it's just more like a mentoring, uh uh suggestions, i guess a hair mentor. So yeah i mean sorry, i know you're talking so yeah um. That'S uh! Well, what i guess we'll try to say is that it's good to know that there is someone out there who has really really really long, hair and encourages. You know that. So it's it's good to know that there is other people. It'S more. I mean you know it's a it's a it's. A community people have long, hair and especially men. You don't find that a lot yeah, i didn't know i didn't know. I didn't know actually that there was a lot of people who had along here and there's quite a few and honestly it's fun, because it's from um get to know other people from other countries too, that shared the same passion of long hair. When you say people do you mean in general, like men and women, or you just talking about like the men community, because i've seen a lot of women that have like what we consider like super length right, which is like past their butt um? That'S what i consider super length um but, like i haven't really seen until hector, starts growing his hair, a lot of men who have super length, hair past their you know past their butts and uh, because when i, when i like hear other people say, oh look At the guy, with the long hair, it's usually like past his ear right and i'm like okay, his hair, i used to think before hector, grew his hair out. Oh yeah. He does have long hair, but now i'm like his hair's, not that long. Yet right like i can't wait to see it grow past his shoulders and pat, you know so um yeah, i understand the community. I thought was uh very few. So are you saying that there's more than what you thought there yeah yeah? There is more than than what i thought. So that's that's a that's a that's good! Because i feel like that's like super long for a guy, you know - and it's weird like the stigma around it like. Oh, it's, okay for women to have their hair. You know bra length or you know, butt lean, but for men, it's like. Why is your hair? So long you know like what are some questions that you guys get for people like just out and about in the community or family members. Are they genuinely accepted, or do they kind of be like okay, it's time to cut your hair, all right so guys we have some curls yay, he kind of looked like a little mopey who lost his sheet. I didn't do the back um because it will take me a long time and we got work tomorrow. So i'm like okay, maybe one video will do the whole head and so y'all could see his whole hair very curly and we can do some hat like some hairstyles um with curly hair for him but uh babe. Can you go a little closer to the camera? So they can kind of see your curls. You could stand up. Look if you want to oh wait. Maybe not! I have him going all around he's. Like my little ragdoll huh um. Let me see his hair doesn't like keep curls that much. I knew it wouldn't in order for it to keep curls. Oh, this side looks good, but it's the last side i did, but in order for his hair to keep curls in it um i will have to put a little um. What'S that called hold hold a little holding spray and then it would like really stick because one of my best friends, she has hair, like him too, very straight, very um, laura she's, very straight, very um, heavy hair, and i remember we had to do that when We curled our hair like put a lot of hairspray in it and it was all crunchy, but it looks cute so um. I want to play with this. While it has a little bit of curl in it still, i mean i noticed when the brakes come off. I guess right it does it does okay, let's see because i want it. Oh sexy, yes, okay, so i want to have it go like this see and have like a little curl at the bottom? Yes, okay, so we don't have to curl his hair one day like really soon, because i kind of i'm kind of digging this okay. Okay, i don't know if you like it, maybe not as deep of a heart, but i kind of like it not like that. But what do y'all think? Okay, i like a little yeah there. We go not such a deep part. There. We go yes, okay, so i'm gon na stay, i'm gon na! Keep it like this for right now see how long it stays i'm gon na enjoy.
