The Most Haunted Japanese Doll That Grows Real Human Hair - Okiku

At Mannenji temple in Hokkaido, Japan - you'll find a haunted doll named Okiku who is rumored to grow actual human hair and craziest thing is, it never stops growing. Today, I'll tell you the whole story of Okiku the haunted doll.

It all started in Japan in the year 1918, when a 17 year old boy, akt Suzuki, bought a traditional Japanese dog for his two-year-old sister o'kiku. It said that his sister loved the doll very much so much that she took it everywhere with her and even slept with it. Every night, the doll quickly became a key equals favorite toy and it would seem even her best friend o'kiku played with her doll every day and soon gave it the same name as herself o'kiku. The doll, the doll would never be out of a Keagle sight. It had Anacapa hairstyle common in traditional, Japanese dolls. The hair is cropped at around jawline length and has a short fringe over the forest. Unfortunately, in 1919 tragedy struck foe, Kiku passed away after a severe fever. She was only three years old. The doll was supposed to be buried along with her, but due to some unforeseen circumstance, it was never placed with o'kiku. In her final resting place, the girl's family kept the dog, their daughter loved, so much and placed it in a small shrine for remembrance one day. They noticed something very unusual: the dog which had a no copper hairstyle now had noticeably longer hair, and this could only be possible if the doll actually started to grow hair. This was taken as a sign that the doll was possessed by the girls restless spirit, since she could not take her favorite doll with her to the afterlife in 1938, the family moved out of Aikido, but they did not wish to take the doll with them, so They entrusted it to the month, atman ng, temple and shared with them. BTS Imagine: The dolls hair is actually silk. The long strands of silk are folded inside the dolls head and the end of each strand is kept outside. Eventually as time goes by the silk strands inside the head loosen up and comes out little by little increasing the length of the hair. That's why it seems like the hair is growing. 辰野守: A long time ago, the land was hit by heavy rain and a land slide , and Okiku's house was washed away. When Okiku was later found dead, covered in mud, she was found holding tightly to a clay doll given to her by her parents, as if a mother was protecting her child.
