What of you who have a student in, I appreciate you, you know I do Goro Goro Goro welcome back for another video, it's another video, another video! So in this video I'll be using some rollers, the og rollers, okay, the sponge rollers. Okay, these bunch of boys right here - okay, I've, never personally used them, so we're gon na see how this goes and um yeah. Let me know if you're a part of that sponge roller life - hey, I feel like. I should have a successful video from this because I didn't rise, but you just never know you never know so. Let me know down below. Like did your parents use to use these in your head, or do you still use them? Let me know down below girl. Okay, so I did stack up on them about like five different packs. The other ones are right here and so much time on the old side, which was the Flexi. Where I said I just haven't done my hair since I did this flexi rod set, and it was on blown out here, because I had to get a trim guy finally got my trunk finally got the trim and I'm just doing a place where I set to Hold me over until the next tutorial, so that's what we're gon na start off on and I'm not because I don't feel like waiting my hair, anything like that. It'S just someone's work anything I got started to drive up for elbow, so I won't be doing that today, so we're gon na go straight into it. So this is what it looks like before hands today. I won't want this under come out, but not right. Now, like mine right now like I got a good balance right now and you're missing yet anyways. So if our golf super brightest with the Sun came out but yeah, so if we're under something right here, it's just a hand: bag off me wearing white hair bands. Will make that does not work, then, if you ban is dirty okay, is there it's by the turn tinea? Okay, so take it off. You know, use my snap, it's heavy! You know what I do. Okay right here, I'm gon na sign the back, of course, but yeah I didn't know what to use on my hair, so I just opted to do Stylophone. So first, what I saw was the my own organics Brazilian curly cocktail. Curls will babassu oil and it's pronounced. My L, my ear, okay people are still saying this brand name, one more. Okay, I'm just gon na brush it out just a little back. This is a dimming brush and then I'm gon na just add one pump just one. I thought I want you to be a tub and then adding the rod so till strands with some little ways down and then just add the ride. Okay, so here you go so they're not as long it's a perm rod. So it's a little bit more work for me to actually secure my ends, which I don't know how I feel about that. So I've decided to just all the way up cuz. I need this to make sure it stays. Ok, struggling hello, help, okay, and then these bother me tight that a mud. This is about to be tight all right, so I was saying the main thing that I'm struggling with when it comes to this is the UM the little piece sliding down, and it's like Hello, don't do that, so I'm trying to start like all the way at The end and then wrap it make sure my hands are secure and then kind of the windmill and kind of go up, so sometimes that slips in back in the foam. So I have to push it back up and then clamp it. So I feel like the way it's filling right now in the way the currents are looking they're going to be like this tight, and so I'm probably gon na be left like a curly fro. So I'm gon na see how I can rock and you'll fluff it out. I just need to make sure I can dry it because that's the Sun, because I have to go train fighter. I need to make sure I look decent for that front. Section uh-huh, oh, but here tomorrow I always get to this point, and so I just split it in half going this way so I'll leave that in the back and then I'll just work on the front and then I always try to split it to see how Many I can actually do in the front, so it looks like I'm gon na do three. So that's what I'll be doing, and I always just clip off the middle of it. So I hope that I'm drying, Oh we'll, see. Oh we'll stop y'all all right. Let'S see these things don't last like. Are you supposed to like stretch it back down or like waiting? Cuz, that's smooched! At that point, that's much and honestly I wasn't even paying attention on how long I was in under the dryer at the smart. Oh yeah! Look at that! Goodness! Now, of course, I didn't do it. I live here, so I don't know what wet hair look like, but so far so good, it's a little snacks here and there actually it's a lot of snacks. I got a lot of here left in here we'll talk about that later, but I see some hair in here. This was a snag that ain't cute, I'm I am recording who was texting me. Thank you, okay. That was like. I repeat that one was with see. I got excited it's so men that everything else was fine, but really this is pop on what I'm saying this is pop. This is the cream in nature pure argan, oil, 100 % pure argan oil. It'S just so lightweight. It'S just like some good oil to use. So I'm starting Indian look at this now. This part still a little wet, but so that's hanging a little weird but yeah. So it's a little loosey-goosey cuz. Anyone to drive the leg, but look at this. This is so cute. Just look how it's sitting these sponge rollers for a poppin primer, I said, don't tell me, I need to start bringing these out cuz. I will okay. I will. Let me know if you will need to try it on wet hair and then I'll make sure to that video, but yeah. This is good. No only negative, I will say that every single piece I would say that most of the sponge rollers had like pieces of my hair stuck to it. So I don't know how to look like that, especially when this was on blowing out here. So it's kind of like what happen when it's on wet hair so we'll see, but that's the only negative I had and then so I didn't do a preview on my Instagram stories and somebody asked me: did I use end papers and I actually didn't because y'all Know how I feel about end papers, I'm not playing with them in papers. I had a bad experience with it last time, so I didn't want to go through that again, but do note that think if I do it on wet hair, I'm definitely gon na try it with end papers and see how that goes because it snagged too much Of my hair, I mean you're kind of forced to make it super tight because they're not as long yeah, so they're, not as long as a perm rod is so as you can see, it's that much left. Oh so you're kind of limited, especially if you have longer hair you're, really gon na, have if you try it if you're trying it, you have a longer hair than me. I don't even want you to waste your time. There'S no interviewing a really super tight curl, but yeah. These was easy to click on sometimes but, like I said it's almost like automatically a dent in each and every one of them. So don't know I like that. So I'm like do people like what this and just like, start over? Let them air-dry. How do you clean this? I don't know. Let me know down below like slipping my edges and stuff, but I don't know I don't need to because this is cute like this. So I don't have to pull it back on at this, so I'm excited it will link right here somewhere, a video of how I maintain my perm rod, set nighttime routine and how fixed, if it does get mixed up. So I have a video for that. You can click it right there if you have any questions: okay, but yeah. Let me know down below if you like this video, how did you like it? How did you like the results? Would you feel that what you feel there are you gon na? Try it? Okay, are you over to try it? Let me know down below girl. So of course give this video a thumbs up. If you did enjoy it, click it click, it click it and then subscribe to the channel. Okay, so scribe ruff. Thank you, and as always, I thank you for watching and I'll talk to you later P. Please

Nae2Curly: Hey! So I’m reading the comments....and ummm yea I won’t be doing it on wet hair. I’m not losing my hair for anything or anyone! LOL I will be purchasing satin rollers! Thank you for the help and tips y’all!

Bfoots1952: Use end papers like we did back in the day to keep the frizz and snags away. BTW, you look lovely with that final results of that style.

Finally Amber: I’m DEFINITELY about that sponge roller Life. From back when I was a press and curl natural to now when I want that “roller wrap” look when my hair is blown out! But I’m country so ..

BabigrlGlitzNGlamour: You took it waaaaay back with the sponge rollers and SLAAAAYED!!!! Your hair turned out so pretty! Yes girl.... My mom waa faithful with sponge rollers when I was a little girl.

blackbarbei: Beautiful, beautiful results - yeah for the sponge!! I use the big pink ones for body when I straighten my hair. And, yes, as a child my mom put these in hair for church, special events, weddings, etc ☺️ I love your videos!!

Mahogany Rose: Omg this is so cute. My grandma still use those sponge rollers. She's been natural her whole life. Her hair is always pretty. They just remind me of Sunday morning and picture day. My bang was so tight!

Kim Moses: Her personality is everything.... I love this girl. I did this sponge rollers and my hair never looked this good lol

Renee Lynnie: Did this last night my curls came out very defined and soft! I will do it again!

tashalala: Janae, they make foam rollers with a satin cover over the foam. I have some & they're great....totally won't snag your hair.

Mary Umoja: Yes hunni, my mom & grandmother used these FAITHFULLY!!! I personally prefer sponge rollers-they come in jumbo or extra large and I reuse mine aaaallllll the time. This turned out so freakin cute

Tpring Danzy: I do a 2 strand twist and sponge rollers and LOVE the results. They are more comfortable than perm or flexi rods to sleep in.

barkley147mimi: I love how it came out - awesome job! The ladies of my family used those and would cover the sponge with wax paper to reduce the snagging situation!

sheena vaughan: You literally do no wrong ! I think u achieve the perfect curl using anything .

Kei Haymon: Gorgeous!!! I definitely just walked past the sponge rollers at Dollar tree thinking they would not hold a style. Now however I will go get them! I Love your videos. Thank you so much!

Aether Garcia: I section my head in 6, braid each section a quarter of the way down, then I roll each strand with the rollers. They come out great each time!!!

Monae' Bessant: Yes for the ole school rollers for real! I'm so jealous tho... You ALWAYS make your curls look effortless. I'm going to have to try these for sure. My mom would use when I was a little girl. So gorgeous on you!!

Rosalind Whittaker: Just finished watching your video and love your hair; yes, I still have my sponge rollers but I need to use the end wrap papers because they do help with keeping my hair from getting pulled out from the sponge rollers; you inspired me to dig mine out and start using them again. Thanks for the great video; I've subscribed!

Genese Knox: I recently went “back to my roots” with all my hair care products and tools. Best decision ever.

Kat Pilot: That turned out beautiful, I love it I'm young but I definitely know about the foam rollers used them a lot to curl my hair when I was younger and I even used the pillow soft rollers too. I think I'll be adding them back to my curly hair products

SugaRush: Wow! Wasn't expecting this turn out! This is gorgeous!

Idreamofjazzz: The sponge rollers are the absolute best, easy to put in your hair and to sleep in. i say yes to old school and no to flexi rods them things are the devil

Krystal Chapman: Love the outcome! ...and yes my Mom used these on me as a little girlDefinitely going to try this! Thanks

Kenya M.: Loved it! Would definitely love to see it done on wet hair with the papers ❤

Haley Sligh2000: I have been using sponge curlers my whole like and I have always loved the results

Y B: I just pulled mine out the closet and found your tutorial, your hair turned out really gorgeous love the color as well. Know this video is old, but it's still relevant, hope all is well.

Shaquana Andrews: Im so happy you tried these out. I just repurchased some yesterday..these are my go to when i want to achieve a curly fro. Your hair came out beautifully as always.

Cynthia Sweeney: Love the video! You can purchase the sponge curlers that are covered with satin to prevent hair getting caught in the sponge. My mother uses them. I must try this method on her hair! Thanks.

Reee love: I cut pieces of satin from my satin pillow case to make liitle strips to use on my sponge rollers and it was perfect

Ginger Snaps: Please do not use the rollers on wet hair. Sponge rollers have been around for many years. My mom told me to never use them on wet hair. She always dried hair first and then used rollers. Also sponge rollers can be damaging to hair which is why I used to wrap paper around the rollers. Just be careful. They will dry your hair out. You can try the satin rollers and get the same look as well with less damage.

Vegan Newbie: Love your hair! I am a sponge roller baby (old school) I stopped using them because it pulled some of my hair out each time I used them, but your looks awesome!!

Simone Carter: I used to use those roller in 70s to the 90s worked with my hair when I add perms. Your hair came out nice. Makes me want to give them another try on my natural curly hair

CHERYL WILLIAMS: My mom used them and I use them also for certain styles. The foam rollers will give a quick curl if you roll first and take steamy shower after. I also use the hard rollers with the cover that snaps over the roller. I have used magetic rollers. With a wet set. My favorite one is the mesh rollers without the brush inside with end papers to smooth the ends and plastic pins.

Peace Maria: I used to use them a while back to curl my hair. They worked fairly well for me. I love curly hair and I have a hard time styling my hair so I tried them to curl my hair and I really liked how they looked. I currently used Conair Hot Sticks to curl my hair. I love them!! They work soo much better and they are soo easy. I just like not having to sleep with curlers in my hair.

Vinyan Group: This came out simply gorgeous!

Gail Scott: To avoid hair being pulled out in the sponge, you're supposed to use the end papers on the hair.

needhelp0913: Super cute! Sponge rollers was def something I used back in the day. You have now inspired me to revisit them but will use the “satin” lined sponge rollers instead.

Queen Britt: Yes I LOVE satin rollers and they're easy to sleep in.. I really like this set! I'm going to try this curl pattern!

Dominique Suddith: Beautiful... I'm still working on trying to get a good perm rod/ twist out... this was definitely a great video! #stylegoals

Valerie Johnson: I love sponge rollers they are so much easier to sleep in than flexi or perm rods. Try the satin wrapped sponge rollers instead of getting end papers. They will help with the hair snagging issue and its much less work. Your results were beautiful.

Retricia Stewart: Beautiful results. I would suggest using end papers or satin rollers to prevent snagging. I wish mine would look like this. You have given me inspiration to try it again.

Finding Storm: I had heat + chemical damage and during my transition I used foam rollers. My hair was passed bra strap length. After ONE use of foam rollers, I had extreme breakage. I tried for months to save it and just this passed month (March) I chopped above my shoulders. I know everyone’s hair is different I’m just sharing my story so someone with as much damage as I had doesn’t make the same mistake ‍♀️

Someone Anonymous: Girl you did that! I love it about to go to the beauty supply for some sponge rollers.

Tracey Oneal: Cute! I would have never thought to use sponge rollers (even though I grew up using them). I think I will try this with end papers or the satin ones for damage control and I don't think it's a good idea to use on wet hair. I'm loving your videos!

Bridgette Bianca: Old school pink sponge rollers were all we had back in the day lol. And your hair came out gorrrrgeous!

Shaquana Andrews: Im so happy you tried these out. I just repurchased some yesterday..these are my go to when i want to achieve a curly fro. Your hair came out beautifully as always.

Kenia Charles: Never would have saw that coming!! Yes, Great Video Queen and Truly Great Results.. Definitely looking forward to trying the sponge rollers

OHoneyPot: I have always wanted to try this. I’m going to give it a go ✨

Nakia: Loved this, I have fine hair and actually sponge rollers give me a good curl, I was excited when I saw this.. soo pretty

Knit One: I still use sponge rollers (pink ones) but to avoid the hair getting caught I use end papers. Super old school.. haha. I just love the curl Afro look once I take them out. Sam's beauty has the black ones w/ satin covering the sponge.

SapphirePoodleTwirler32: Foam roller set life:) I love how your set came out:) The satin rollers are good to work with, but I found them somewhat flimsy- the satin doesn't last long when frequent sets are done.

Rae_of_Fashion: I've been using foam rollers since I was a teenager. I love them!

deidreej: Sponge rollers always snag no matter what. They always have dents, there is nothing you can do. Those are just old school of how we use to roll our hair back in the day. End papers are the way to go if you don't want to snag. You look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Face Reality: For people who prefer not to use heat: You should stretch your hair first with a twist or braid out or bantu knots, and then do the roller set using the ponytail method for optimal stretch especially for at the roots.

JustSay Jackie: I used to sleep in sponge rollers almost every night when I had a relaxer. My mom hated straight hair, it always had to have some sort of curl to it. I stopped using them when my cousin told me that the roller acts like a sponge and sucks moisture from your hair (I never fact checked her on that). I did still use them on occasion before I went natural, but I haven't used them since.

Toya McKnight: From my experience we never used sponge rollers on wet hair. They were used to preserve already curled hair from getting flat while sleeping. Also Walmart sells satin wrapped sponge rollers

DEB in NC: We used them way back in the day! You need to use end papers on wet or dry hair, or you will lose a lot of hair.

Lee Allen: It came out so pretty !

Jann Mason: I love your videos. No matter what hairstyles you try, your results are always on point!

nvrnakednails1: Nae it came out so good! Next time just get the satin covered ones. My hair is fine like Amber's and won't hold a curl for ish, so sponge rollers have always saved the day.

positive vibes: Stunning! The satin rollers are bomb tho. You achieved awesome definition!!!

GhOStGiRL: Hi, I just found your channel and I just want to say I love your videos so far!!! ♥️Anyways I curl my hair with sponge rollers and I found out that if you don’t curl your hair as tight on the rollers it won’t do that. Not to mention that there is different thickness for sponge rollers. I also roll my hair while it’s wet and then let air dry and I don’t have any problems with it yanking out my hair. But my hair type is different from from yours and that also matters. ( I have wavy/curly long waist length hair if your curious.)

Sabrina Mccree: GIRL! I am going to buy some sponge rollers! I would like to see how it looks with the satin rollers but these look great! I love it, and your hair color is bomb too. Definitely a new subbie!

E Deal: Gorgeous! That's all i got to say. And yes those sponge rollers snag your hair. That's old school. And yes when i was little we went to bed with those rollers in our hair but when the rollers dry it will bounce back but after many uses they will not bounce back. Love you girl! You make me laugh.

ebonywahine: Yep end papers are important for one thing it helps to make sure that all the hair is evenly caught up on the roller which helps cut down on frizzed ends. That will be really important if you try it on damp hair. We used this method back in the 70s to get that "Freedom 'Fro" look. Well that was what it was called back then.

Gilbretta Edwards: Can out really cute. I always use my satin rollers when ever my hair is flat ironed, so easy to sleep in.

Kenia Allen: You might want to use end papers if you are going to dampen your hair with the mousse. That will allow the hair to not get snagged and probably allow it to dry quicker because the paper will absorb some of the moisture also.

Barbara Marcelle: I have used foam rollers. For a quick curl they're the best. And comfortable to sleep in. To stop hair from sticking to the roller, use setting paper on the roller.

Babyness_35: Gorgeous! I would’ve never guessed. Please try it on wet hair

Delisha Ramsey: Glad to know these work. My grandmother rolled her hair every night to comb it out lol rip grandma...Cant wait to try this. I love the size and neatness❤❤

sasumekyoto34: Because of my hair type(4c) it snags quite a bit on wet hair, but end papers/paper towels really helped! My rollers smushed up real bad like yours since I pulled it tight; still not sure how to fix that though! Your hair came out super cute!

Summer Felton: I used to use these in high school All. The. Time. Once or twice a week I would use them for a wet set and the would maintain with dry rolling the other nights. Of course my hair is just a bit different from yours. But I loved seeing how it came out. It looked so nice!!

Felicia Aldridge: Evolve satin covered rollers on amazon for $7.84 for 18 pieces.

Marie Campbell: Your hair came out real nice. I'm about to hit the $ store. I'm buying a gang of the pink rollers & am rodding my hair today for the 1st time. Wish me luck !

Nicole D. Vick: I was all about that sponge roller life. Back when I was a kid AND back in the late 90s early 2000s. It made my relaxed hair look super cute and curly back then.

Monterey Lyons: Yes! I love sponge rollers. I tried perm rods and Flexi rods on my 4c hair and it wasn't having it. Then I said, why not go ol'skool with the sponge rollers. Best decision!

Audrey stevens: That is a fantastic set! Did you do a video about how to maintain your lovely curls? Nevermind, I'll look through your videos. Found it!

LaShera Michelle: This video was soooo helpful! Thank you ❤️

Finally Amber: Coming back to this tutorial in 2020 because it’s Quarantine time and I need some idea ❤️ Hey pretty!!

Ms. Michelle Agalte: This is really cute on you. They have the sponge rollers wrapped with satin material at Wal-Mart and I found some in Ross also.

Jacara Lewis: I still use sponge rollers all the time. Love them! ❤

monniedee1999: Man, I remember the sponge rollers! I use to use end paper to prevent my hair from getting snagged in the sponges (I put the end paper in the rollers, not the hair)

Amaretto Jones: My great grand aunt use to use it on me when I was little and I was thinking of getting back to it cause it does prevent damage very well and it's more comfortable to sleep in than hard or bendi rollers

RPB: Use the roller set papers to wrap around the roller. It'll prevent all hair snags. I recently used sponge rollers and it came out great!

Dom Esquilin: Omg!!! I love this look. Beautiful.

KingandPrince Sfaulk77: WOW!! That came out GREAT! I will try this tonight. Thanks!

Sunflower Soul: That Denman brush is so cute. These rollers were my life as a kid!

Williams J: Your hair came out so pretty. I remember those sponge rollers, back in the day.

stephanie garcia: Love these curls I am going to try it on my daughter today .

Nene B: I think you did awsone for your first try. I bought some recently and your video just made me confident about giving them a try. Great video.

Jasmine Brown: It came out good! You may want to use satin sponge rollers or just line yours with satin to help with snagging

Dondrelle Shuler: I love the hair!!! to prevent the snag on your hair, they have rollers with satin over the foam.

Elizabeth M: Eliminate the snags by putting plastic wrap around each foam roller ,it keeps the hair smooth and it doesn't rip my hair off. your hair looks beautiful !!!

Breana Hayes: I'm definitely going to buy these because your results came out soooo good! I just pray it doesn't snag my curly hair because I'm going to try it on wet hair in the future

CurlsandBeauty82 xxx: I absolutely love your roller sets. Your personality is contagious

Betty black. Black: JANAE YES MY MOMUSED THESE ROLLERS ON MY HAIR. THEY WORKED VERY WELL ON OUR HAIR GIRL.

Tammy: When I saw the title I was like "why is she using sponge rollers?" lol but the results are SOO cute. I really like it. I used to use sponge rollers to set my bangs at night or to "bump my ends" when my mother used to press my hair.

Adrienne Whiting: Very pretty! Will be trying it! ❤️

Jemia Jaslyn: So i used to role my grandmothers hair all the time. She always had me wrap the roller in like a wrap paper or some tissue just because the sponge can take a bit of your hair out. But i loved how your hair turned out. They color looks so amazing on you

BMoreLikeHim Tilghman: I use to use these back in the day. LOL. I was commenting before the end of the video and was going to suggest using the end papers!! It turned out really, really good

Ty: I use end papers and sponge rollers with thick sections. I have my hair shaped into medium shag. When I take them out ..it's bootiful!
