#UNICORNCUT #CURLYHAIRCUTS #DIYHAIRCUTS #LONGCURLYHAIR

Hi everybody welcome and thank you for clicking on my video. As you can see, i gave myself another unicorn cut this time. I did a single unicorn cut. I did not do the triple cut. Also. I did a u type of shape at the bottom, because um i didn't want that v shape that the triple unicorn cut gave me. So in today's video i will be showing you guys how to get a u-shape at the bottom. If that's, what you're? Looking for as for me, my hair was extremely long and pretty dry at the ends, so i decided to take a big chop. I will be inserting pictures for you guys to see the difference um from the regular cut to this cut. If you guys are interested in the triple cut and getting a v-shape, i will link my video, so you guys can check that out. There'S no problem with the v-shape. I had it for a while. I just kind of got bored and wanted something different. Also before we get into the video, if you are not subscribed to my channel, please make sure you subscribe to my channel and if you like this video, i hope you guys give it a thumbs up. I hope this video is helpful for you guys and i hope you guys enjoy okay. So first i started off with freshly washed hair. I put on a hair mask this one from hair food. It'S a smoothing, avocado argan oil. I got it from target and this just helps to give you a slip. Okay, so i put a picture because i kind of cut myself off the frame, but here you guys can see how the triple cut gave me a v-shape at the bottom. My hair is very long guys so for this haircut, you're gon na need a comb, some shears. I got these from sally's and you're also going to need two hair ties. Okay, so first is first you're going to detangle your hair very well, so make sure you brush your hair, really good. This is very critical guys so make sure you follow that once your hair is completely detangled you're, going to bring all your hair to the front like so and you're going to brush it all the way to the front of your head, then you're going to tie Your hair at the front like so to end up looking like a unicorn, then you are going to brush again and put another hair tie at the bottom. Then, with the same ponytail you're going to figure out how much you want to cut off, then when you figure that out you're going to do a straight cut underneath the ponytail. So for me i started off cutting three inches off here, i'm just showing you guys how thick my hair is or just how much hair i have oh and by the way, if you guys see any white stuff on my hair, it's paint i was painting all Weekend long, so that's why so, then, after you're gon na want to untie your hair, so you guys can check out the length. So here for me is when i decided that i was gon na do another cut. I was gon na cut up another inch, or so my hair was really long, so i really wanted to take more inches off, but remember guys take your time because you cannot put hair back, so i'm just gon na do exactly what i just did and cut My hair off again, oh, don't mind me, i'm just struggling trying to cut this thickness off. I'M telling you guys. I have a lot of hair and it was just time for a cute. You guys see that thickness. Then this is optional. You guys can just trim some heaviness off the ends. I do this because, as you can see, my hair is really thick, so i just wanted to take some heaviness off so now, i'm finally happy with the length that i got and as you guys can see, this gave me that v shapes now. I'M going to show you guys how to get rid of that v shape. Then you are going to brush all your hair to the back like i'm doing here, because you're gon na do a part in the middle make sure you are as symmetrical as possible, because now you're gon na bring your hair to the front and we're gon na. Do another cut here, i'm just showing you guys the length of my hair and what we are about to cut off. I'M just measuring what i want to cut off. So, for this part, i decided to use a denman brush just because it's way easier than a wide tooth comb. If you have one it's better to use, i would recommend it just to hold your hair better. So for the cut we are going to cut the longest strands from the bottom layers, like i'm, showing you here so here. You'Re gon na want to pull your hair to the opposite side, so you guys can get the longest strands of hair to cut off. Make sure you hold your hair good with your fingers to guide you and cut a straight line, and i recommend for you guys to do small sections. Remember you can always go back and cut again. That'S what i did and now you're gon na. Do that to the other side, remember: you're, gon, na pull to the opposite side to get the longest strands, bring your hair to the back and brush, and you should start seeing your hair getting that u-form. So here i can still see those long strands, so i'm gon na do a second cut and i'm gon na do exactly the same thing. I did again so again. This is optional. I'M just gon na trim a little bit of the heaviness off the tips uh. So here you guys can compare both the cuts, the regular unicorn cut and me cutting off those extra long layers at the bottom. If you guys look closely, you guys can see that i still had one little tiny bit of a strand. I did. I did cut that off off camera if you guys want to shape it more feel, free to cut a little more but, like i said, just be careful and do it in small sections, so you don't cut off too much but yeah guys. These are my final results. I really love how this came out. I really love the shape at the bottom. I really hope this video was helpful for you guys and you guys understood if you guys like this video, please give it a thumbs up. If you have any questions, please let me know below and thank you so much for watching. I hope you're back to see my next video bye, guys.

rawkierenaissance: I just cut my hair using this technique and it looks SO GOOD. As if I paid a professional to do it. Thank you!!

Jennifer Sanandres: I just did it and I can’t believe it worked. Your instructions were so easy to follow. Thank you! ✂️

Cristina Coronado: Thank you so much! This was my first time cutting my own hair and my curls look SO much healthier. I have a pretty unsteady hand and I was still able to get a clean line "U" in the back. I'll never pay to get my hair cut again. You rock!!!

Kyboo: First time I've ever done a full cut on my hair, it turned out amazing, thank you!!

Megan Dobson: Thank you so much!!! It’s been so hard to find a cut that doesn’t end with the V shape. Just did this cut and it looks great :)

Solar_F: Every time my hair is needing a cut, I come back to this video. So simple and easy to follow and exactly the results I want - Thank you!!!

B L: Best tutorial I've seen, so far- and I've watched dozens. I'm scared to get the short layers on top, like yours. It's gorgeous though

Orlando Queen: I did this and recorded it on my channel! I absolutely LOVE the results! 10/10 do it y’all! This video def helped guide me thanks girl

Laura Roa: This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much

Katheryn Yejas: I’M IN LOVE. As soon as I watched this, I tried the cut and it’s exactly what I needed. Thank you!

Margherita Ferretti: I cut my hair two days ago for the first time using your tecnique and it turned out AMAZING. A professional's job to be honest. ❤ Thank you so much!

WeavingThroughTime: From my previous unicorn cuts, the dreaded v pieces would be so so long and stringy and thin versus the U cut where it can all at least be thick together. I'm definitely doing this today. Thank you so much!!

Andrea Jara: The U shape is way better than the V shape. This is just what i need to fix the long part of hair that the unicorn ponytail gave me. I will give this technique a try.

nat coo: Tried this method and I’m so happy with the way it turned out. Had the vshape and my hair felt like it was just handing. Used some of the products mentioned and my curls look healthy, moisturized and exists now. Thank you so much for sharing your tips.

Pineapple Snoopy: Great video! A step further would be to do a low ponytail at the back and pull it right down your back, tucking your chin under, then cut about half an inch off the end. This cuts off the very tip (which is probably more noticeable with straighter hair) just to make the shape even more rounded. Have you seen Feye's Method online? She describes that process really well with detail such as whether you tuck your chin or not in order to get the result you want.

TheAudiobrownies: Great and informative! Ever since I can remember hair stylists would always give me a v shape cut. Since I started cutting my own hair , hair quality has improved and I control what length gets chopped off !

Cris L: Oh wow, that’s great! Thanks for this tutorial. Your hair is beautiful by the way.

thisiswhathappenslarry: softening the v shape starts at 6:13

Angela Smith: Beautiful! I am going to try this. You did an Amazing tutorial.

Tish Beaver: Thank you sooooo much for this!!! You’re gorgeous!

Sheryza Rasheed: Thank you thank you! Omg this is the way I have been wanting to cut my hair. I've been doing the unicorn but I like the "u" shape better. Your hair looks amazing! ❤️

piccolo4di: Thank you! Now I can cut off that point with confidence. I have a naturally occurring "rooster tail" at the center back and the original unicorn cut emphasized it. Your instructions are clear and easy to understand. Thank you again.

Summer George: Thank you so much! Your video was literally a life saver for my hair I had really bad bleach damage and I was miserable because I couldn't even leave my hair down anymore and had to wear it in a bun everyday. Thanks again! I love it!

Tammy VanRoon: Youtube really needs to add a 'love' button. Your tutorial is excellent! I've been doing the double unicorn cut and I have always hated the 'v' shape....I went to a hairstylist to shape it better and she did a blunt cut and it is completely uneven and longer on one side than the other. Thanks to you I know I can now fix it!!! Thank you again - you and your hair are beautiful!

Jessica: Your curls are gorgeous!

irene jimenez: Wow!!! Definitely going to try that! The U shape looks so good on you!

Evelina Ca: Thank you so much. I haven’t cut my hair for maybe 6 years now. All hair dressers ruin my hair. This time I decided to risk it and it looks good and even curls more now!

Kàhlan: Thank you! Loving my hair <3 and finally got rid of that V shape i had :)

Laura Egolf: I just tried the unicorn cut for the first time, but I ended up with those long strands and they look a bit weird... I'm gonna use your technique to shape it up! Thanks for sharing! Also your hair is beautiful!

Kelly Callas: So i just watched your video and followed along honestly i cant believe it worked! My boyfriend was even shocked the U shape came out so nice and my curls bounce so much more. Better then when i would go to a salon for a cut! Thanks for the video!!! And im super jealous your curls are so thick and tight i wish mine would do that! How do you get your curls so silky looking and full and bouncy

PsychoDonkeyy: Thank you! I wanted to use the unicorn cut, but I don't like the massive V shape it gives, so I'm definitely gonna try this!

lady2014: You and your hair are beautiful! I was looking for a video so I can cut my own hair and there you are! I'll try it tomorrow...

Linda Hill: Great video! Your curls are amazing, btw.

Kristina Duggan: I love it! It's so beautiful!

katlady567: Just found this and tried it and all I can say is THANK YOU!

JAP AP: Thank you I cut my hair for the first using your unicorn method and I really liked the results. Definitely going to try this method this weekend.

Jessica: I've cut my hair exactly like this for several years now. The only things I do different is I do a lot of point cutting after each straight cut. I have completely straight hair so I feel like the point cutting blends it together better.

Katrina McFalls: Love your curls! Mine don't bounce that much You were so thorough! I think I'll be giving this a try when I need a cut. Rn I still am growing mine from when I chopped off like 10 inches. It's about 2 inches shorter from your final results length. What brush was that you used?

MsFlame: This is perfection. Thank you

ann martin: Thanks for this video. At this moment my country is in lockdown to a certain degree and all hairdressers are not able to open at this time. It's a bit frustrating because I have not cut my hair for over a year because of how busy my work can be. So I came across your video, and I tried it out. It works very well for me and I am happy that you gave options. I may not be seeing the hairdresser for a while if this continues to work for me. Thanks a bunch and God bless.

MLS: You have the most GORGEOUS shiny curls!!! I can't wait to try your technique on my 2a wavy hair, mine's thick but you've got me beat. If you can do this & it works, it will definitely work on my hair. I've been afraid to because my hair is so thick LOL... THANK you for this video

grecia.elena: This is a great video as well as the 1st unicorn video you did. I need to try this on myself!

Sara Allen: I did a double unicorn based on your other video and then did the U cut. I wish I could post a picture. Your tutorial was so easy to follow and my hair turned out great! Thank you!

Avo Linda: Hi, your hair looks amazing! Can you do a tutorial on the layers without the v? Thanks!!

Leenie B: Thank you your hair looks amazing going to attempt to do mine now

Elizabeth: Thank you!!! You just saved me a haircut in a face mask and at least $40!!! I love my haircut cuz of you!!! Thank you thank you thank you

MRR Memory Bank: i did my haircut following this video of yours... this quarantine situation i wasnt going to saloon...was so scared of doing it myself..but then your video gave me confidence..loving my finaly look..thank you...

S.A. McClellan: I hope this works for me! I've been trying to find an answer to the "V" problem for years! When I tried to get my ex to shape it into a "U" he cut it straight across, taking way too much length off! Next question: How to get that healthy shine!?

Tea Lazić: Thank you SO much, my hair is bouncy for the first time in few years

Sukanya -That Vegan Soul: ❤thank you for making this video it's is really helpful. Yesterday I understand your video as a guide to cut my hair. And I LOVEED IT

Deborah Phillips: I seriously never had a professional haircut before but I need a haircut, so I found this video and I’m going to try this tomorrow for the first time ever, I’m so nervous yet excited but hopefully it comes out as great as yours ✨

Christine Dicks: I have a lot of hair but don't have the thickness at the ends now that I'm older. I need to cut my hair so I'm glad to have found this. Thank you. Your hair is beautiful.

Aida F.: You and your curls are SO GORGEOUS!!

Just a Lauren: Just did this cut! Thanks

spirals 73: The only thing I'd do differently is how to do the actual cutting. I'd not ponytail the end, flatten it vertically, and cut diagonally so that the ends that will be the underneath layers are shorter. This will help create interior layers for more volume. And I'd cut a face frame aferward. But overall this looks good.

Brianna Esparza: I have a very similar curl pattern! Except my curls are a bit damaged because of straightening my hair twice this year.

JR: I have this video saved for each time I cut my hair in case I forget. I’ve done it once and it came out beautiful

Dasha Mazura: so useful! thank you so much!

Laura Van Zwam: You have amazing hair! I feel like we have the exact same type hair but mine isn’t nearly as hydrated or defined. My question: do you need to do the tripe unicorn first before doing this video to get the same shape? I know you had a triple uni before you taped this.

Dr. Chinky Patel: Hey! Love the way your hair turned out :) I've tried cutting my own hair following your tutorial twice now and each time I feel like my ends don't blend in very well; the ends look straight and each strand just stands out and not in a good way. Is it something I'm doing wrong? Is there a way to get better ends?

Rin R: Did you use any products in your hair to make it dry like that? It’s so pretty and thank you for this tutorial now I can cut my own hair !

Heloisa Sá: Very helpful! Thanks!

Lela: I just did this!!!! But my hair was drying too quickly so I’m waiting for it to dry fully to even it out Wish me luck!!!

jeffsycks: Beyond words gorgeous, young lady!! Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️

Stephanie Douglas A View From A-Broad: I liked the video. I've watched a lot of these types over the past year. COVID Hair DIY's. I liked the voice over instead of the taking while cutting, you have a nice smooth voice and you spoke clearly but not too fast. In the end, I finished watching the whole thing just because it was relaxing. I liked the simplicity of the cut and how it turned out. Nice job.

Kyla Gallo: Gurl thank you for this video it helped me save money and time.

Adriana Hurtado: Your hair is GORGEOUS, I was cringing with every cut, but the end result was still beautiful

Nebraska Aysen: Please do a curly hair routine from cleansing to style xx

LuLu Belle: If you use a crea clip to cut your hair, use it the smily way up. I did and it turned out lovely. My hair has a nice rounded edge to it, rather than the V shape.

Sunny Notblind: Gorgeous! Your cut length is my goal length.

PATTY PERRY: thank you for sharing your super thick and curly unicorn cut because my hair very long and thick and im going to do it your way,i bought scissors and brush on amazon, will be cutting it soon, again thank you oh and btw your hair is beautiful

Lisa Cystian: OMG your hair is gorgeous ! Good video you spoke well and informative.

Nadia Kettou: Been doing exactly this for the past 15 years. Didn't known it was called the unicorn cut....

Alice Piccolo: Finally a good video that explain some difference about cutting techniques!

rc che: Your makeup is on point. Great contouring

P😜M: Oh I never thought to do it so.. I did the unicorn cut sometimes on my wavy bit frizzy hair but quite thin so it's not lookin very good.. Better rounded shape. The v shape is actually take it off some heaviness and looks nice with lot of curls ❣️

Victoria Lozada: This was a great explanation

Pilar Luque: Tiene un cabello precioso. No entiendo como tiene tan pocos votos‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

Tom Schneider: Wow what a big difference your hair looks so good I would like to come over to get a haircut from you

SongMaker Dragon: So when you're parting your hair to shape, should it always be in the middle, or should I part it where it normally falls for me?

Nicole R.: Gorgeous haircut!

georgie hollander: Magnificent hair......Thank you........my hair is very wavy,,,,,,,,not really curly like yours,,,but I will do mine like you have shown.......:-)

Khira Azmi: i’m gonna do this next time i tried the unicorn cut before and it didn’t come out very different cuz i think i was scared to cut too much also what hair products do you use

Brit JJ: Your hair length is insaaaane! I can only dream. You’re sooo lucky.

Tabetha Kelsey: Love the results.. thanks for the info on the "U" shape. But did your other layers still have the "V" shape or did the curls just blend in?

Francine Torres: Loved it.!!

NYC: My favorite 'cut ur hair yourself' video!

WHITE LION: Pretty good. I'm constantly surprised when I meet curly girls and they say the spend $300 to $400 for a cut and highlights. That's crazy! I pay $200 but I only go every 3 months or 6 months, so three times a year. The reason I say surprised is because some of the girls live in the projects/public housing that has to be more than the monthly rent.

Lunar Lexxicon: Ooooo you’re brave. I wana do this but I’m scared I actually love the V shape my hair naturally grows in a V. What’s the difference between double V and regular?? Also how did you cut the layers to have them shorter at the top?

Imelda Cordero: What products do you use after you cut your hair? I like the curls

Federica Chapellin: Hi! I’m thinking about cutting my own hair. If I do it, can I just do the first part (only cut when I have the “unicorn” ponytail) and not do the part where you part your hair in two and cut that “v” shape??

Andy Vs: Muchas gracias!!! ❤

Christine Karas: So cute. Thanks for sharing.

Julianne718: So pretty ❤️

mariahnixon: can't wait to try this technique! everytime I asked for oval shape the stylist gives me a round shape

Hack Battle: Is there any way to get layers and have the hair straight across (The sides same length as the back) rather than a U or V?

Fiorella Carmona: Qué hermoso cabello !!!!

Elizabeth Levesque: So back before quarantine I made the mistake of cutting my hair into one length, save for some hair on the underside that’s a bit shorter. If I wanted to do this cut, would I need to do something different to add layers? Since I currently don’t have any. If anyone could answer that I’d be so grateful lol. I wanna trim my hair but because I have no layers rn I’m not sure what to do.

Shaheema MN: Love this tutorial! Just wondering how wet your hair was when you cut it. Was it soaking wet?

V!K!NG_DRAG0N: QUESTION! Did you have a different procedure for the top front and sides layers?
