Updated Winter Curly Hair Routine

*This was an AD for instagram that I wanted to share on youtube as well

My updated winter curly routine for definition AND volume!

Our hair is dry, because the air is dry. Your hair’s moisture is quite literally evaporating into thin air. So in the winter try to use a hair mask AT LEAST every other wash day to help add moisture back into your waves or curls. @MauiMoisture Heal and Hydrate + Shea Butter hair mask is a dream

SOMETIMES when we pack on sooooo much moisture, our hair gets weighed down. To combat this, I like to section my hair into 3 sections as I comb in the Lightweight Curls + Flaxseed Curl Refresher mist up and out through my hair to help clump my hair and get volume & if you don’t hear a SQUISH sound, simply add some more water into your hands and scrunch it into your hair for more JUICY waves or curls

For the last section I’ve been creating a diamond shape and combing my hair up and back for massive volume ! and I

I always finish my hair with my holy grail gel, Maui Moisture Curl Quench + Coconut Oil Ultra-Hold gel. This collection is a curl defining line that is coconut oil infused to help defrizz waves and curls. It’s also crunch free and flake free ✅

Lastly, if you have a hair oil use it as your final step to seal in all of your hydration! Oils don’t hydrate, but they LOCK in all of the work you have done. So seal it in babyyyyy.

BeaWolfe: Literally the only person I've ever seen mentioning that the heavy moisturizers might make your hair look greasy... which is my main issue! I'll have to try some of these products

Shawna Riggs: I need that gel lol I’ve been looking for the last bit to get that little bit of frizz out and this is what I need. Thank you for the help and knowledge.

Wendy G.: I've been really loving Dippity-Do mousse & detangling spray. My wavy hair has changed over the years and is now wavier than ever, and I've found that its better to play up the waves/curls rather than brush them out. These 2 products have made such a difference!

Dianne B: You look stunning as usual!

2tme: Such a naturally beautiful woman

lili g: We have the exact same hair type. Except mine is dark brown. Taking notes for volume… ✍

Dianne B: Been loving palmer's Olive Oil Formula Leave-in Hair Conditioner. Very hydrating and inexpensive.

hello Wendy: Finally, someone with the same hair type as me!!

Ara: Love it , I definitely going to try it

Ankyan00 Andersson: Beautiful curls !!

Rachel Recycles: I just saw this brand in the store and wondered about it

Angela Sue Allred Lindley: Living in Utah I use a hair mask everytime I wash! It’s so dry here. My hair isn’t as curly as yours rd literally waves like 2A. I also only wash my hair every 4-8 days

Beepbeep: I love my curls but find them so hard to maintain. Every morning to redo it where if i straighten it i get a week without having to touch it. Any advice?

Wren Shields: Would this work on fine hair that's straight scalp to mid and wavy at the ends?

DLRS1: Michael Van Clarke 3’” more ultra intense prewash treatment. It’s a godsend.

spirals 73: Run a humidifier all the time. My skin, hair, and eyes thank me. I have a combination humidifier, heater, and air purifier that I got for $130.00--well worth the $, as my home is my office.

Annie b: Coconut oil is hit or miss with hair. low porosity hair especially is likely to create build up from using coconut oil heavy products

Ava Ashley: How often do you wash your hair?

Marie Debord: Bro I need to take care of my hair like this, I got curly hair like yours but a bit more curly and I don’t take care of it I just take a shower and put it in a bun and like a week later I take it out brush it and wash it again and so on but I probably should tho

Mn Zhb: Why does my hair do the opposite in winter?its usually so moisturised and in summer its so dry. In winter it feel so sof and i have no volume

mac8a1: Are the products listed somewhere?

Elle H: No. Moisture (water) is different than conditioning with oils or silicones. Hair likes to be dry but conditioned. When hair is wet with water that's what makes our hair swell and the cuticles open up which causes it to be frizzy and tangly.

mental flurries.: The big sister I always wanted.

des d: you should seriously consider hair styling and cosmetology. you are so beauty-smart. and beautiful

not me: I want new recommendations for shampoo and conditioner duo for hair loss and hair growth, also I have extremely dry hair

Romy Marcondes: Maui is the worst brand I’ve used for my curls. Hard no

Jennifer Tustin: We have the exact same hair texture

Q Princess: Which brush you use and spray?

REBsessions: How do you put so much stuff in your hair

She’s preppy ⚡️: MAUI IS HORRIBLE NOOOOO! I know the product says it’s for curls and everything but the ingredients are really sus. I have curls and Maui caused hair loss, breakage and brittle hair. I did all of the right steps and even got into contact with the company wondering what I was doing wrong! I stopped using Maui and my hair is so much healthier. I started using this Brand called Monday and it makes my curls so tight and shiny. I’m not saying you should stop Maui and use Monday, if Maui is working for your hair that’s terrific! But if you are noticing the problems you talked about like your hair being dry, that might be the maui as well as the air. With my new conditioner my hair stays soft and healthy even in the cold brittle winter

Rachel Cox: Its illegal to not disclose ads.

Dayah B Petty: Wavy curls? Waves or curls....

dive4puss: her hair is litrally my curly hair after a week of no washing\refresheing her hair is clearly wavy\straight

Nurgül: Those are waves honey...
