Ah, good evening, everybody what's good, it's your main girl mel, so happy to have you back here with me, even though i have no energy to do my hair, i don't know if you can tell i sound like i'm a little under the weather, so i thought Instead of doing my hair, i could share with you how you can do your hair. That'S right! I am building a routine for you and you and you and you and you, if you like this video, because we can make it a regular series on this channel, starting with the runners-up. Our first examples, three lovely, ladies who actually just won a recent giveaway from me. They willingly offered to share their hair type with me to include in this video so that i could share different routines and product recommendations that they can use, and you can too and then there's me your host and main girl mel in case you don't know who Me i am whom yam, who am i? I am a hairstylist curly, hair specialist, your curl mom, i'm here to explain what your routine should look like with a variety of different product options that you can choose to use based on your hair type, which includes your texture and your porosity. The products i'm going to mention in today's video are all ones that i love and i use on my hair and they all come from different price points as well. That way, you can take my recommendations and apply them to your beauty budget. So we don't break the beauty bank but anywho without further ado. Let me introduce you to our lovely models. I have one thing to say: you better work. First, up on the roster, we have miss arlette. This beauty has got thick, coarse and low porosity hair that she cannot get to hold. In her words, next up miss maria maria maria. She reminds me of a curly story. She is our medium queen, she's got medium texture, medium porosity and not to mention a gorgeous wavy curly pattern and finally, miss casey casey with a c for high porosity. Do you get what i did there? She has like 4c texture and high porosity fine hair strands, with an emphasis on the fine. Am i right, but just in case you are somebody that doesn't know what their hair's porosity is or their texture, so you're not sure whose routine that you should take after her hair texture is going to refer to the thickness the diameter of your hair strands. Fine hair strands are going to be super thin and they can be super fragile. This casey's texture is super fine, and so is mine. I'M a fine to medium hair, texture, and i know this because my strands are basically non-existent. If i take one and rub it in between my fingers, i can't feel that it's there, whereas core strands are going to be much thicker and they're, going to have a much greater presence. They'Ll be able to feel the thread of your hair. Core strands naturally have more weight to them, they're heavier they're denser, which is why we really want to make sure that we're applying the right products to them so we're not further weighing them down. Hence why our texture is so important to take note of when we're deciding what products we need to use. The other thing is your porosity. Now your porosity is your hair's ability to absorb moisture. As a general rule of thumb, fine hair tends to be more porous, higher, porosity and coarse hair. It tends to be more resistant, more low porosity. You can test your porosity at home by taking a clean section of hair with no product on it that is dry and taking a spray bottle and spraying it and seeing how fast it absorbs the water high porosity will suck it right up, and it will also Spit it back out, so, if you're noticing your hair gets very dry very fast and it's not very shiny, then you're likely high porosity. So now that you know your hair's texture and your hair's porosity, that is pretty much everything you need to know what your curl pattern is is really not important information when it comes to deciding which products your hair needs. Okay, believe me so now that we know that we're all caught up, let's start with our low porosity, thick coarse textured, queen miss our lent. So, as our let expressed it's really hard for her to get hold on her hair, her hair, which is coarse and low porosity now because of the resistance of low porosity, the fact that the cuticle layers are very tight, it is hydrophobic, it does not want to Absorb water or product very easily, therefore, i'm getting vibe that a lot of the products that she may be using may be too heavy too moisturizing, too moisturizing right right and therefore, too softening on her hair, which is preventing her from being able to get that cast And long-lasting hold that she wants in her style. That is my diagnosis and now here's my prescription clean is best we're going to start with a clarifying shampoo, every single routine that i'm going to mention today is going to include a clarifying shampoo, because it is a step that cannot be skipped. Otherwise, you're going to fall down the stairs the whole routine will be a disaster lois. What the hell so for a light. Clarifying shampoo, that's gon na be gentle enough for regular or everyday use without stripping the hair. I'M gon na recommend the twist hit reset like clarifying shampoo. This shampoo has got a blend of heavy lifters and gentle surfactants to cleanse, while also having some conditioning ingredients in it. Like jojoba oil, it's got panthenol. It'S got aloe vera as well as rice protein. So it's going to help to cleanse and condition without leaving your hair feeling too stripped. This would be my very affordable and accessible option, but i am also going to pull up and recommend the good stuff. This in my books is top tier greatest of all time. Talented, brilliant, incredible amazing, show-stopping spectacular, never the same totally unique completely, not ever been done before clarifying shampoos. It is the undo goo th9 shampoo. This is from malibu c. It is a professional product that would be used in salons to really help remove all kinds of buildup from the hair. The ph 9 of the shampoo are going to cause your strands to swell a little bit which is really going to help to remove buildup but, most importantly, allow for better penetration of the rest of our products. While she is very cleansing, she's still quite gentle, it's a sulfate free formula, just as a texture comparison, the undo has got a clearer, more lightweight and watery formula, it's very easy to distribute throughout the hair and again the twist like clarifying shampoo. It is more gentle. It'S a little bit more conditioning and not just clarifying, and you can see that in that creaminess of the shampoo's opacity. Definitely more gentle, if you wash your hair every day or very often the undo goo doesn't need to be used every day. Don'T use this every day use this as needed, maybe once a week, maybe just once a month, and just so i don't have to repeat myself again: the voice is going if i'm recommending a clarifying shampoo, unless i say otherwise. These are the ones that i'm recommending right now, they're my top go twos and i will be linking these as well as all the products that i'm using and talking about in the description box below. So you can find the links there. You'Re also going to want to use a conditioner, that's very lightweight. Your conditioner should meet your hair's moisture needs, which is going to be reflected in your hair's porosity now with low porosity, because the cuticle is so compact and intact. You naturally have a very protective layer over your hair strands that is protecting the inner portions of our hair strands, which contains the hairs protein. It gives our hair the strength. So what does that mean? You don't really need a lot of protein, but what you want to do is treat your hair intuitively. That'S what your conditioner is. Your conditioner is like a treatment to your strands, and so, if you are feeling super dry, maybe you recently lightened color treated blow dried used heat on your low porosity hair. Don'T be shy to use a little bit of protein in there. So i'm going to give you a few options for conditioner. First up, we've got the twist sunday feels hair mask. This is going to be great to use after using a very deeply clarifying shampoo, it's going to deliver moisture while not being too heavy on the hair. This one is protein free another protein free option. That'S a little bit more on the luxury scale would be the nutraplenish by aveda. They have a deep moisture or a light moisture, so you could really choose if your hair is very very dry. If you need more of a light, moisture or the deep moisture which i personally like not just for my hair, but also for coarse strands, because i find that it's moisturizing enough to give you the slip and the nourishment this is also a silicone free formula. You'Ll notice, as i'm talking about low porosity, pretty much all the products i mentioned, are going to be silicone free unless we're talking about like a heat protectant, because you're not really going to be needing a lot of that ceiling. That silicones can get your cuticles are already shut. So that's another one that i really really love, but maybe you're looking for a two in one now twist has this two in one conditioner and primer - and i mentioned this specifically for you arlettes, i hope you're watching. Let me know if you're watching sound off below, because knowing that you want hard hold to your styles, this is going to be great for you use in the shower. It is a very moisturizing. This is the ultimate moisture line from twist. It'S going to give you a lot of moisture that you can choose to rinse out, feel free to apply this in the shower, give it a light, rinse and maybe just squeeze out any of the excess water, but leave a little bit of that in there as You'Re leaving conditioner, so you don't have to go in with additional moisturizing products once you're out of the shower all of those moisturizing products layered on top of one another, is going to prevent you from getting that hold that you want. So this is great as a two in one you can rinse it out completely or just leave that little tiny bit in after your shower, and then we can go into the styling portion to style your low porosity hair to get the hold. You just need a good gel. Now. I'Ve got two: we've got the twist weather up gel. This has been one of my go-to's. It'S got some great anti-humidity ingredients in it. I like this, because it can pretty much be used on its own as a one and done because it does have moisturizing properties to it as well. It feels very comfortable in the hair to even brush, through which we usually don't do with the gel the hold. I would consider more of a medium hold. You can get a stronger hold when using this, if you're not applying too many products underneath it and this product also has wheat. Protein would not be gluten free, but we protein and proteins in general act as film formers. So they're gon na help to give a little bit more of that cast that outer shell that hold that you're. Looking for it's gon na help to keep your curls defined, it's also not going to weigh them down, because coarse hair is naturally very heavy and if you're looking for a little bit more volume in your style, these lightweight products are going to help you with that. It'S almost like the last thing you need is creams and you're going to want to go for more water-based products to help kind of add hydration, but not too much emollient, occlusive oily softening for a more pricey option. That'S also protein free. If you are very sensitive to protein, one of my favorite gels i used this year was the nutraplenish curl gillette. It'S gon na give you such amazing shine. It'S gon na give you a good hold. You don't really need to use any product underneath as long as you give yourself good conditioning in the shower or if you prepped your hair as well with a leave-in conditioner. This pair together is wonderful, but, as i was saying on its own, this curl delay is very very nice. It has a great hold to it. It'S not going to be very heavy now, while this product does have a blend of very nice nourishing oils. It'S very clear, very water-based. It can also be a great elongating product if you're looking to kind of stretch the curls a little bit, you can see. You'Ve got beautiful length to you and if you love your length, you like a little bit more of a relaxed controlled hard hold, look taking some of this and gliding it over your curls, really raking it through isn't going to help them to set in that really Defined place and you will get hold as long as you're, applying it on hair that isn't too wet and as long as you're, not touching your hair too much when you are diffusing, because these things will soften your hair and you won't get the hold that you Want okay, as long as you're, not doing that, then i'm telling you this routine is going to be 10 out of 10 for you now, just because i quickly mentioned the spray leave-in conditioner, which is going to be great for a low porosity hair. It'S a very lightweight leave-in conditioner from aveda with heat protection and protection from uv. I also want to mention the hype it up - weightless refreshing spray from twist now this actually isn't a leave-in conditioner, but i've used it as one and i've also used it as a refreshing spray, which is what it's supposed to do, because this has aloe vera leaf Juice as the second ingredient, which is a film forming ingredient as well, that's gon na help to add that whole to your hair. Again, you can also use this when you're refreshing so for day, two day three day: four, whichever hair it's gon na, have light moisture, but also just wake up the curls again, definitely a affordable and versatile product that you can get a lot of use of, but Wait because, finally, we got to finish you off with something that's going to give you a little bit of sealing a little bit of extra shine if your hair tends to get a little bit dry, i'm just going to put you on to the twist multi-use hair Oil, because you can use it for many different things, you can use it at the end of your routine. If you want to scrunch out some of that crunch, but listen, i know you love your whole. Don'T shy away from using a hairspray for a little extra hold in your hair. This one is made for curls, it's alcohol-free, so it's non-drying it's going to give a medium to strong hold. That is also buildable. Depending on how much you choose to spray. Definitely a slip-on way to add a little extra texture and hold to curly hair. It'S hairspray, and i hope that you find this helpful. Not just you are lit who's watching, hopefully, but anyone with her hair type and hair needs that can relate. Let'S move up the porosity ladder, shall we we have got miss maria with the medium texture, medium porosity hair, which means she's pretty average all around. Remember we're talking medium. That means it's, the average of both low and high or fine and coarse, and so the products that i'm mentioning in this portion can be applied to almost everyone's routine. It'S gon na be very balanced with both protein and moisture maria has these curls that have this gorgeous bounce to them and whether you have hair that's more on the wavy side or even on the tighter curl side. This is going to be more of a volume routine for the medium texture and medium porosity, as i've already mentioned everyone's going to be clarifying, so we're going to start with some nice clarifying shampoos in the mix, but remember that we also treat our hair intuitively. You may not always need to use a clarifying shampoo, and so i always think that it's good to keep a different kind of shampoo in your mix, so you can alternate one. That'S really nice and lightweight is the verb ghost shampoo. I'M also going to be mentioning the ghost conditioner. These are priced more in between on the scale. The reason why i really like them is because they do have a little bit of protein, which is going to be great for medium or high porosity hair, but these especially are weightless. Shampoo gives a great cleanse it lathers nicely and it's also softly free and color safe, but the conditioner, especially this, has got excellent slip. I love using this to detangle it's going to be nourishing to the hair. It'S going to give that perfect balance that you need of both moisture and protein again verb products are a little bit more mid-scale. I do have a discount code that you can use on verb i'll, have that linked in the description box below, as well as the links to the products. So you can reference and use, for that is definitely a favorite. Now, for a little bit of a deeper conditioner after you've clarified your hair, i am obsessed with the even myc therapy sessions hair mask. This also has got a nice little dose of protein. It also has some silicones in it now. Silicones, like i mentioned, if you have really low, porosity and hair, that's resistant to water, naturally you're not going to need a lot of silicones, but the higher your porosity, the more cracks there are in your cuticle, and this is truly going to give like conditioning from Root to tip it's going to give great shine and excellent slip. This is a massive tub of product as well. It'S pretty affordable smells divine, but, most importantly, it's very nourishing. So it's good to use on those days when you clarified moving on to prep your hair for styling for weightless volume. I do really like the twist. This is the rally the curls weightless defining primer. It'S a very lightweight creamy serum! That'S going to give nice moisture to the hair if your hair gets easily weighed down. I would recommend this one also got a good protein balance, but for a protein free, curl primer before styling. I love this as well. This is a really nice leave-in conditioner. That is a cream texture. It'S the moisture balance leaving from bounce curl this one i always like to point out because it is also glycerin free so, depending on what climate you are in, because your hair is medium porosity, medium to high porosity, remember it loves to absorb moisture moisture. That'S in the air and bring it into your hair. So, if you're in a very humid climate or on the flip side, if you're in a very dry climate, using products with a lot of humectants type of ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid and even propylene glycol, these kind of humectant ingredients might not be your best Friend, if they are very highly concentrated in your product, but this one it is just such an incredible leave-in conditioner. That also happens to be silicone, free and cruelty, free and vegan. So it's a very versatile product that all hair types could use, and especially you, but, as i said, we were going to make this a weightless routine and so we'll just mention one more, because it's also from the verb ghost line which i love. This is the ghost prep. This is a nice leave-in conditioner, because it's also going to give heat protection. So if you are using a lot of heat, you do want to make sure that you are using heat protection, so this will give you that, as well as great slip, free, detangling and, of course, just be really lightweight the main oil. That'S in the ghost line is moringa oil, which is a very, very lightweight oil. It absorbs very well into the hair and skin, and i like that this product also has the ingredients poly quaternarium 11, which is very good for anti-humidity hold and frizz prevention and moving on to styling for a cream and gel combo. I love the weather up lotion and the weather up gel. From twist that i already mentioned me - and my sis have both used this combo on her hairs a lot of times, and it is super well to define while also being lightweight, but the best way to be lightweight, is to just apply less products to your hair And so, if you can get everything done all in one, why wouldn't you am i right? This is an amazing one and done curl cream definer styler. It is the ag curl fresh definer. It is a curl cream. It'S got a lot of slip, but it's also going to give you so much hold. It gives you this incredible gel cast without having to use a gel or a mousse for the cast. It is silicone free and it's also curl enhancing now, in order to enhance curls, there are a few products that can actually do that. A balance of proteins help to give your hair a little bit of enhancement but salts, specifically magnesium sulfate, helps curls to coil up and encourage a little bit of extra bounce and shrinkage. So if you have a little bit more of a wavy curl and you're looking for a little extra enhancement, this is going to be the one and done no gel necessarily needed, which is great because again, this one is another product. That'S a little bit of the mid-range to high luxury price point. Is it worth it? Absolutely? If you ask me but work with your budget and don't break the bank just break the cast using an oil. I love this one. This is the crosswith bonding oil. It'S kind of a dew per se, if you will, for the olaplex number seven bonding oil because they are both strengthening, but one is double the amount they both look like liquid gold. But this is a great oil for my medium to high porosity curlies, because it does have a little extra protein in there as well. So it's a protein infused bonding strengthening oil. That'S going to give you great shine, lock in all that hydration moisturizing products that you use in your styling routine and give you the perfect finishing this one's. Also, a silicone free oil there's also more affordable options on the market that will still give you shine like the twist curl rain. That being said for some of the best sealing and shine, because i already talked about the rest of the line - the verb ghost oil, it's one of my favorites and i hate to treat you like that it didn't mean to treat you like that. I'M sorry! I love you. This one does have some silicones, which i love for higher porosity hair. It is also infused with protein, and it also gives you some heat protection, so we love that and i'm gon na actually use some of it right now, just for some smoothing. Okay, we are ready for casey our high porosity queen, giving us her fine hair as an example for a routine that needs to be gentle, strengthening lightweight, but also deliver. The shine element and high porosity hair tends to naturally lack so going in for cleansers. While we do still want to be clarifying, we do want to be gentle on this hair. Fine hair is so super prone to breakage, and so i would definitely recommend the twist like clarifying shampoo, because it does also give a little bit of protein and it's conditioning while it is cleansing, but this may not be necessary all the time in casey's case. I would recommend using a co-wash occasionally because sometimes if we need to wash our hair a few times throughout the week, we just want to make sure that we're not stripping it too much. So the twist big, rich and dreamy co-wash is gon na, be really good. For that, because again it's almost supposed to be like a two in one, not that you shouldn't or can't condition afterwards, but as a shampoo, it's gon na be so nourishing you can almost detangle it and work it through your strands to gently cleanse your ends as Well, this formula has shea butter, which is going to be very thick and nourishing for fine strands that are high porosity and need a buttery kind of sealing, and this has rice protein which is going to be strengthening. But my only complaint is because it's so thick, i find it a little bit almost difficult to work through the hair for another kind of moisturizing cleanser, that's going to give you a little bit more of an invigorating feel on your scalp, so you still get a Clean scalp feeling, without, of course, being too stripping on the hair. I adore the ajwa biomint moisturizing shampoo. It has wintergreen spearmint and peppermint oils, so you definitely feel this kind of refreshing tingle on your scalp. While it is a very rich and moisturizing formula that i consider to be like a co-wash, even though it's labeled a shampoo she's so creamy, and i appreciate that it still has a lather, so it's easy to distribute now for the conditioner. As i already mentioned, the therapy sessions hair mask from eva evanyc. This is a deep conditioner. It can be used as a once a week kind of treatment. It can also be used daily or every time you wash as your regular conditioner. Again, it's got a great balance. It does have protein. It has a little bit of silicones as well, which is going to help to enable a little bit of that extra shine in her hair and to help keep that moisture in the biggest problem with high porosity hair is it will absorb moisture, but it will spit It right back out and our hair will just expand and get drier and more dull as the days go on, which is why we really need some good sealing on the outer cuticle layer of our hair to protect the inside contents. Fine hair naturally has less protein. Naturally, has less strength to it, it will be more prone to breakage, which is why we need to protect that inner cortex layer with things like proteins and even silicones, and this is formulated with argan oil as well, which is beautiful for shine. Also, it works very fast two to five minutes and you can rinse you don't have to leave it on your hair for half an hour to get a really good. Deep conditioning. This thing is everything, but if you are looking for a product that is silicone free, if you prefer that in your routine, something that's also good for high porosity hair. Is this deep conditioner from bounce curl, their ayurvedic deep, conditioner, very weightless, very lightweight for fine hair? It'S specifically formulated to be used in hard water conditions as well, which is such a fancy thing, but this is very moisturizing. It'S not a protein deep conditioner! It'S just going to deliver a lot of moisture hydration to your strands, leaving them soft, leaving them detangled. It has this really nice, like whipped, buttery texture to it. Speaking of butter. Butters do really well in high porosity hair because, again like i said it helps to give that sealing to lock. Everything in you don't want to rely just on butter because we want hydration. First, you want water and we like to use butter for sealing and for helping to define this is the bounce curl defining butter. This is great for twist outs, protective styles or even wash and go's. It'S got a good balance of products. It'S not just butters. There'S also humectants, like glycerin there's aloe vera, which is a film former and a great hydrator, and while this product is very thick, i've used it on my fine hair, which is a looser curl and it still worked very well. But, most importantly, it's going to give that extra moisture to that fine and dry high porosity hair, another more affordable kind of buttery product like that is the boss, bounce lightest, air buildable, styling cream from twist also nice and buttery she's quite thick with a lot of Oils and butters in our hair routine. It can really help to soften the feel of your strands that might feel rough. I know mine do being high porosity with my cuticle. Looking like this instead of tight, you know like this. It'S like this, instead of like this, like this with a texture like that on curls, i want smoothing, i want sealing, i want softening, which is where again, these butters really come in handy. You just, of course, don't want to put too much on fine hair. That can be easily weighed down so as a lightweight version, i'm gon na bring back the aveda curl delay from the nutraplenish line, because while there is a beautiful blend of oils, there is some shea butter in here. It is such a hydrating formula and it infuses the hair with so much shine, great definition and again, depending on how it's applied. It can give some elongation as well really make those tight, curls pop on a wash and go. It will give the hair some hold. If you don't like the crunch, just don't forget the scrunch, you can finish it off with one of the oils that i've been mentioning for shine and you are looking divine at least. I hope i do wish that i could reach through the screen and touch and feel your strengths. But in my experience as a professional behind the chair and what i've learned through working with all types of textures of hair, no one routine is a one. Size fits all, and so i hope by listening to the tips in this video and the different types of products that i recommended you yourselves at home, can also curate the routine. That sounds fitting for your hair and hopefully, if you like this video - and you want to see more tips for all kinds of hairs that we didn't even get to touch on, i am definitely on the lookout for more models and definitely open to doing a whole Series on videos like this, so let me know if you liked it by giving it a thumbs up, comment below what your hair type and texture is, and you never know we may be in touch. Thank you again to our let's, maria and casey. For being our first time models, thank you so much for watching today's video until the next one. This has been your main girl mel and i am out peace good evening, good, eva ming. That is good. My voice is not, and i also close the blinds because it's daylight savings. Okay, don't judge me, i can't i keep thinking i can just toss it around, but i'm scared join me and the curly gang shout out to curly prince with this bomb sweater. It'S so cute your conditioner, your shirt. Thank you man. You can hear my voices struggling. Did i just rip my hearing.

Arlette M Campos: Literally cried getting the notification to this video!! CANNOT WAIT to use the products I won on the giveaway!! You definitely hit the nail on the head with your diagnosis!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me finally being able to start enjoying my hair to its fullest!! You both are soooo needed & appreciated!

A A: I'd love this to be a series!!

Kitt: Yes! Please make this a series. My hair never comes out the same way twice and it's so confusing to me. After years of trying different products I finally gave up and went back to straightening. I'm just tired of feeling like I look like a foot everyday!

Amanda Guido: Happy texture Tuesday!! Special thank you to Arlene, Maria and Casie for being our models today. This is a video we have wanted to create for a while so please do let us know if u want to see more like this!!!❤️❤️

Manes by Mell: I am happy to say we are ending off November (and 2021) with a bang <3 We SO hope you enjoy this video, it was super fun to make but did take a long time to edit so shout-out to Amanda's mad skills and as always, for making me look good!!

Ariel: Ohkay, raise your hand if you want to see the girl's results with the routines she gave them now!!

Prima Wagan: Mel, loved this. would really appreciate a series that included natural grey and curly/wavy older lady hair. (i would think the hormone changes have an impact on the hairs. thanks! love all your content

Arlette M Campos: As CRAZY as this might sound, at 36, this past year has been a year where I have actually "risked" not using the products I have been used to, to wash & style my hair, & truly seeking something that is simply just better. A little back story on me, my hair, although I LOVE my curls, has always been an insecurity of mine because I was bullied from preschool up until high school, that remember of, because my hair was "different" & I was the only one in my family that has this type of hair. Therefore, my Mom didn't even know what to use, let alone, how to style my hair growing up, mainly because of its thickness. There have been many moments where I've been in literal tears because my hair turns into a frizz & it's almost as if I've put nothing in my hair. My Husband would just wipe my tears & assure me that we would find the right stuff, no matter how many products we had to buy. Mell & Amanda, you truly have no idea what this means to me. It's literally a life changing moment for me. Thank you!

Susan B: I would love to be a model for this new (hopefully) series. I know your market is for the “younger” crowd, but we (slightly) older silver curvies need help, too!!! Thank you for always being there for us when we need help with the hairs. You are a beautiful person and always brighten my day! Big hugs from Texas ❤️❤️!

Maia B.: Girl your skin is looking SOOO good. Also, I love this video! Can I give you a MEGAPHONE for when you said that hair pattern doesn’t matter?!???? People take it soo seriously.

Jasmine D: Shoutout to Amanda for the improved editing! I love it

daftoptimist: I’d love to see this become a series. Also I said “Yes!” out loud when you recommended it the Eva NYC mask; I’ve been using it since July or August and I love it. I believe my waves are medium-porosity (taking forever to dry), and fine-to-medium texture (doesn’t break very easily, but certainly not coarse). My biggest challenge is battling tangles and dryness after Day One, and fighting my climate which is always either too dry or too humid, never a happy medium.

Mia Sedrak: Love you Mell! You have totally transformed my 2c/3a curly hair!

Aleyna Mack: This would be such an amazing series. I feel pretty good about figuring out what my hair needs, but my friends always ask me for help too, so seeing different routines for different hairs is super helpful.

Mercedes Startzman: I absolutely love this one! I work in ulta and I use a lot of the information I've learned in your videos to customers that are struggling with their hair texture and it is such a rewarding experience. My hair personally has always been a struggle. I color and mess with my hair regularly so it is medium high porosity and I have learned as I've gotten older that my hair isn't just frizzy and messy but actually curly and wavy with medium texture and a ton of it but I struggle with frizz

Lydia Wilson: MEL!!! I was skeptical but I followed your recommendation for low porosity hair. It worked! My hair is Asian and African-American. Very thick and very coarse. I always thought I needed a lot of oil or conditioner in my hair. But you were right. My curl was weighed down. Now my hair looks so moisturized, it's soft and it's more curly. Thank you!!!

Shani Anigans: Love this idea! Following you has made me fall back in love with my curls. I think I have low porosity and medium texture. My hair is the opposite of yours - looser curls on top and around my face then tighter curls near the bottom. Craves protein.

Christiana Underwood: This was so helpful. I would love some tips on next ways to style low density fine hair. Thank you!

Mallory P: Thank you Mell! All the ladies you featured are gorgeous (and their hair is too !) As a wavy-curly, I appreciate when you share tips for looser curl patterns!

Lyana Gonzalez: Aw man this is so helpful for those of us who haven’t figured it out luckily thx to you lovely miss queen mell and lovely miss queen amanda i have found what works for me and im so happy and grateful , i’ve watched pretty much every hair influencer and the channel that actually helped me was this one best hair channel if you ask me and also mell these sit down videos and your insta stories inspired me to buy some David’s tea , i was a teavanna fan because my area used to have that store and since they went out of buisness i had been looking for a substitute , davids tea did the trick i love

dwallens: I'm new to embracing my wavy hair so I would love to see more videos like this! (I have fine/medium texture, medium/high porosity, and medium/high density. I want soft definition and volume but for it to last a couple days. Give me beachy waves, Mell! )

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: The time and talent that went into making this video....wow! Great job ladies! Loved it!

Jessica Richter: I would love to see this as a series. I still struggle with my coarse, medium porosity waves. Especially because I have very low density. Finding something which gives my hair volume but also definition and hold is very hard (also in Germany it's hard to get good curl products, most of them needs to get import)

Rachel Wyatt: LOVED this!! Was sooo helpful and opened my eyes to so much I didn’t know about my curls!! I have decently long, very fine, low/medium porosity hair and would loovveee some help with a routine!! you Mell!!

joygirl: This video is GOLD! I have low-medium porosity hair and I need a lot of hold to make it through the diffuser with some defined ringlets. I’ve been loving brush styling with the AG curl fresh definer, topped with a little Bounce Curl light creme gel! But my FAVORITE gel is the SheaMoisture coconut and hibiscus curling gel soufflé for the great shine and hold it gives.

Gina Q: Loved this! Would love to see more videos like this. I found a routine that worked a year ago but now that my curls have “healed” from years of flat ironing daily, my current routine isn’t working as well. Add in post partum hair loss!

Simone Gouveia: I think this is the best video you guys have done! Wow this is amazing. Amanda, you did amazing with the editing also and the girls apart of this video. Love your curls! I’m following the routine for Arlette ☺️

Deanna Ramirez: Your channel has CHANGED MY LIFE! I was trying the CGM and have been so depressed over it for the passed 3 yrs. Came across your channel last week,I've been watching all your videos and taking notes! ✏

Rubia: Loved this!! Make this a series!!

Taylor Patterson: This is such a fantastic idea! I've been dying for something specific like this. I have medium porosity, fine/medium hair with some super coarse bits in the front. My hair is hella curly and so healthy bc of you but I haven't found that absolutely perfect routine or product combo just yet. Have a hard time getting my hair to last beyond day 3

Gwendolyn McMillian: I absolutely love your videos! I’ve been natural since 2013 and I STILL struggle! I’ve tried so many products & techniques but my strands refuse to be behave. I really like the different textures that you showcase, but how about adding a few ‘mature’ women for the 50+ ladies that follow you as well? Over the years my texture seems to have changed a little (as well as sprouting a few well earned natural highlights-aka grey hairs!) and I would love to be your first volunteer! You are fantastic, keep doing what you’re doing!!

Trish Pipkins: Yes definitely make this a series. I volunteer as tribute!

Ann Arbor the norris: You are my absolute favorite. I love my hair because of your intelligent advice and example. Love this idea. I hope you feel better very soon. We need you two. You bring us joy, and happiness.

gymnast27: I luv this series. Thank you, Mel ❣️

Rachel Mack: Yass! I love this series. I feel like my wavy, coarse, high density and high porosity hairs have conflicting needs. I want hold, but I want shiny and soft too. I haven't figured out how to get both.

Jorge Luis: I’m a guy and I’ve recently grew out my hair. I’ve never had long hair (I’m 28 atm) so this whole “taking care of your curls” is very new to me. I definitely want to improve my hairs health but no idea where to starts! I will definitely start be trying to figure out my hairs texture and porosity and definitely will be coming back to this video for recommendation

Sophia Aloeristok: Okay this was so extremely helpful. Comparing the hair types with explanations omg so freakin helpful ❤️❤️

Fathia Balgahoom: Honestly this is so smart!! I really like the way you are tackling this topic. I had this really good hair day and I loved how my curls turned out but i haven’t been able to get it back to that place since

Jordanlind12: Oh my gosh yes!!! I HAVE BEEN WANTING A VIDEO LIKE THIS!!! ❤❤❤❤

use2bmc: This was AWESOME! Thank you as always for the plethora of amazing hair tips! The seesters' hard work is so appreciated!

use2bmc: This was AWESOME! Thank you as always for the plethora of amazing hair tips! The seesters' hard work is so appreciated!

Sara M.: The video was really helpful and informative !! Thank you so much.❤️❤️❤️ I loved your hair. You look amazing. And I loved Amanda's editing on this video. Made me laugh several times.

sccorde: Of all the videos that you two have posted on this channel, this video has by far been one of the MOST INCREDIBLY HELPFUL!! I am blown away by how much I learned in the video, I've already sent it to three of my curl friends. Thank you SO much you two!! This would be an incredible series, I love bringing other textures and porosities into the mix!! As a curly girl with a mix of medium to coarse strands with low porosity, this was an absolutely amazingly helpful video. Thank you seesters!!!

Raincatcher: Oh my goodness, the timing of this video is perfect. I have been struggling to find a new routine and have felt overwhelmed with figuring out mixing and matching the right products for my hair/goals—I needed this.

kyliee c.: This hairstyle looks so cute on you mell!!❤️

BatN1ppl3s: I loved this video. I hope you make more! I have coarse (fine on top and near hairline though) medium density, low porosity hair. I learned a lot from watching this. I've been using silicones not even realizing they're sealing my hair my curls get knocked out really easily too. I hate praying hands method simply cuz I lose all the hard work from brush styling! Do my curls knock out because I'm over moisturizing?

Olivia Rodriguez: I watched this on my tv and I had to come to the comment section to say YES PLEASE MAKE THIS A SERIES ! And I could die over this hair rn. The whole look, really. As gorgeous as ever Mell

Kayla Pupio: I’m also a medium texture and density with a low/medium porosity!! My hair is very similar to Maria’s with more of a wave at the root and curls are the end! Loved this type of video Mell!!

Deanna: Happy Texture Tuesday!! So excited for this video!! You seriously have no idea how much your channel has helped me you seesters are amazing so thank you!! Your skin is looking fabulous by the way!! Much love and happiness!! Xoxo

Kandice Trainer: Would love this to be a series! I recently started my curly hair journey in July and I’ve been watching your videos for a while to determine how to know what’s best for me. Out of all the products I have tried thus far Twist has been the best! My daughter has high porosity 3b/3c hair and the Eva NYC mask did wonders for her hair! We had been experimenting with several things but nothing gave her a good slip until we picked this product up! I was wondering how she would do with the Twist cowash… that’s next on my list

Katie Melton: These types of hair videos are so helpful! I will definitely be looking for more videos with my hair type. I started my healthy hair/curly hair journey in August and the seesters videos are what has helped me get where I am today. My hair type is fine and medium porosity. Mell and Amanda, you are amazing!

lngIslgirl: I have fine and high porosity hair. I been struggling with the right amount of product for my hair. I noticed that I continue to have split ends, frizz and can't last longer then three days. Hopefully with your great advice I can get my hair healthier. Thank you both for all your hard work.

Tina Thevarge: Loved this, yes more variety of hair routines! Going to rewatch in the morning for the thick, course, low porosity suggestions.

Maureen Toomey: Happy texture Tuesday! Look forward to this day. You girls rock!!! Have a great holiday, see you next year ✌️

Blake Weston: Thank you for breaking down the routines, this has helped me tremendously. It’s given me the knowledge for choosing products and understanding the “why” for each! My hair is very similar to, fine and high porosity.

Tea and Biscuits: Your hair looks amazing on this video Mell!!

Madison Gale Jessop: I absolutely adore this video Mell! Thank you for all that you and Amanda do for us!

Angela Garza: This was SO helpful. I am a newly transitioning curly girl. All my life I thought I had semi wavy hair, so I straightened, blow dryed, used hot tools to get ringlets. In 2020 I had black dye stripped from my hair and damaged all my length. I started to nurture the damage and eventually cut it off. I started following your tips and low and behold, I have beautiful curls!! My hair is a crazy transformation to what it was a year ago. I have medium/high porosity and thick coarse hair.

Christina: Yay! Texture Tuesday! I love this one! I’ve gotten so many good products from your recommendations & now I might get a few more My hair is medium texture & high porosity (I volunteer!) Your videos have taught me to be aware of the changing needs of my hair & it’s always fun to try different routines. My hair is SO much healthier thanks to you, Mell! Thank you for being hair for us all!!!

SM: This video is EXACTLY what I needed!! Thank you so much for the amazing content! I would love to have more videos like this!!

Ariel: I'm also absolutely in love with the Eva•Nyc Therapy Session Hair Mask!! It's divine!! *chefs kiss❤Totally agree with everything you said about that! Hoping to partner with Eva someday!

Yisset Lozano: This is an awsome series with a ton of content. There are soooo many beautiful types of curls out there. I bought the AG curl fresh Definer and I get the best curls every time hands down. Love your content. Thanks for all your help.

Ruth Kuder: Thank you Amanda and Mel! You both make Tuesday look so good. I would love to see what you would do with the smorgasbord I have on my head. I am 57 and have let my hair go gray after almost destroying it with bleach and flat irons. I didn't even know I had curls and waves. It has been a journey.

Delimar Perez: Loved this video!!!! I live in Puerto Rico (lots of humidity), have thin, high porosity hair. Would love to hear alternatives for this situation!

Donna Layne: Yes! thank you Mell! I couldn’t ever figure out why I wasn’t achieving hold I was putting to many moisturizing products underneath my gel. I am definitely going to try your tips

Carey Roberts: I LOVE this! Thank you so much for this. I have medium texture and medium porosity, I highlight my hair and I'm aging so my hair is constantly changing. If you could do a segment on this that'd be great!

Kelsey Addeo: I'm 31 and am just starting to learn to love my curls! From what you said, I think I have fine and high porosity hair, so I'm going to try some of the products you recommended!! Thank you so much for doing a video like this. I loved it!

Grace Polywkan: I'm excited for this series! I've been following the routine done with Nicol Concilio for awhile now, and it changed my hair game completely. I can wear my hair natural for multiple days in a row and it continues to look good.

Miss Mastix: Great idea, I know I'd love to have some troubleshooting on my curl issues. On the same note, what about videos from scientify Mel about treatments like keratin and how they really affect the hair? I was told it wouldn't affect my curl pattern and would make my hair less frizzy, more manageable and more shiny. After doing it for a long time, I feel it thinned out my hair a lot. I'm now looking at years of regrowth to avoid a big chop to restore my curls

that's_crazy: YOU ARE AMAZING!!! !I'm so tired of people on tiktok saying everything is bad for curly hair. This video really educated me. I had NO idea it was more about porosity than curl type. Now I know why I could never get my hair to look right. THANK YOU!!!!

Jackie Forbes: Loved this very informative video. Now I know what my medium density low medium porosity hair needs. Glad you showed Twist products. I have almost the entire line

Katydid Stitches: Oh this would be such an amazing series! I feel like I learned so much! I have fine hair, medium density and I believe it's low porosity. I took some of my shower hairfall, did a quick clarify with some sulfate shampoo, dried it, and sprayed it with water. It instantly beaded up and the beads were still there a full minute later. But it's uncolored/untreated, I just use a light heat diffuser a couple of times a week, so I guess that makes sense? I assumed I had high porosity hair, because I feel like it gets wet easily in the shower, but maybe that's just because the strands are so fine. Hair is so confusing. But I'm enjoying discovering my curls!

Laura B: Thanks for the video Mel and Amanda. Would like to see more videos like this. I like it when you show different price points. Happy Holidays.

Erika: Really enjoyed this video. Would love to have this as a series with products more easily available internationally (curlsmith, briogeo, bounce curls, Treluxe, Innersense etc.). My hair type is 3C-4A, medium to coarse strands, low to medium porosity and medium density.

Los Driscoll's: Big 'ol Yes to making this a series! Not too long ago I thought I was all alone in my curly hair struggles. Makes me so happy to be a part of the Curly Hair Gang now. Love all yall . #NotAlone

Marissa Johnson: I loved this! I have fine 3b curls. I recently bleached them and finding the perfect protein/moisture balance has been a pain! My hair is always dull and dry looking by day 2/3, even after refreshing. Help please

MINESH: Your hair looks amazing like this!

Dora Mercedes: Thank you for this video. I need to stop using creams and just stick to gels. I have low porosity, medium/coarse wavy/curly hair. I just got the Verb ghost prep and I'm excited to use it. I first stumbled across the Eva NYC line at Costco, of all places, and fell in love with that mask.

Maria Knopp: You look beautiful. And your skin is so glowy and amazing. Thanks for another great video.

KR: I ❤️ this video!!! A series would definitely be fun! My hair is low porosity, and mostly medium texture. The Verb Ghost line works amazing for me! I especially live the Ghost oil.

use2bmc: This was AWESOME! Thank you as always for the plethora of amazing hair tips! The seesters' hard work is so appreciated!

Patty DeCosta: Happy texture Tuesday!! I think this will be a great series. I hope you continue. I’m always watching and learning so much from you. I try so many products you suggest and love experimenting. I’m waiting for the day I find the perfect routine!

Amanda Buise: Hi Mell and Amanda, first of all thanks for all your helpfull information and skills! It has been life changing for me Nonetheless I keep on struggling to find the right products and routine in order to get those luscious and bouncy curls. After seeing many different combinations of hair characteristics, mine seem kinda contradictory. I've got very fine hairstrands but a lot of them, while being low in porosity. So I would say high density, but since the strands are so fine you are still able to see my scalp quite good. For an overall view it might be good to know that I'm caucasian/indonesian and we've got an oceanic climate over here, so mild wet winters and cool wet summers. Probably needless to say I'm very curious what your product/routine recommendations would be! Thanks again and greetings from The Netherlands! P.s. I'd love if you guys would continue these series! ❤Also wouldn't mind being one of your models so other curlies with similar characteristics can get benefit of it.

Ella Pavlechko: Love the idea to have this as a series! Just started my curly hair journey a few months ago, and your videos continue to give my curls life! Would love to see someone with my thin, high-density, medium-porosity hair next!

Tessa Leathern: This is awesome! I try following so much of what you recommend so often and while it works I never feel like I found that “holy grail” routine. I can’t wait to try the products mentioned in this video that match my hair type! Please keep doing this series it’s awesome!

Kendra Lynn: AWESOOOOOOME vid Mell, thank you!! I dentified most with our Medium Queen; really looking forward to trying the recommended products. And yes, this would be a BOMB series!!

Brittany Cook: I could cry at how helpful this video is, thank you! Definitely think it should be a series!

Camila Amador: Girl, your girl looks SO cute in that hairstyle. I’m done, gonna cut my hair like you with your last tutorial

Minna Ventola: Thank you for this video! Very exciting theme, indeed. I'd love it to become a series. I have fine hair, medium density, porosity that is more to high than medium. This I have learnt from all of the tips on your channel how to find out, thank you so much for that, too! still much to learn, and I have yet to find the best possible products to my hair. Also, when I am a minimalist and want to keep the routine as simple and quick as possible. With full-time studies/work and family with children (hobbies to take them to several times per week plus all household stuff) I do not usually have time to use several hours for wash day routine.

S.L Ling: Omg I love this! More videos like this please! Such a great idea, especially from an actual hair stylist!

Ambassadors: I loved this and would definitely love for it to become a series! I have watched a lot of your videos, but seeing recommendations for different types of hair is super helpful. Especially for someone like me. I am relatively new to natural hair care. I have always had wavy frizzy hair, but I never knew how to take care of it. I have fine to medium texture hair and probably low to medium porosity, but I also have low density hair so I find it really hard to have good volume and definition in my hair. Plus, my curlier hair days always go limp after the first day and become more stretched out and wavy rather than curly. It could be that I’m expecting my hair to be curlier than it is, or it could be that I’m not using products or doing refresh correctly. Either way, it would be really helpful to see a routine for someone with wavy hair! (On another note, do you do online consultations?)

greens: I love how you made this and offered products from all price ranges! I would really love to see a luxury video of all your favorite high end items! That would be fun ❤️

Marion Coleen: im so happy i found this channel. it acknowledges all the nuances of caring for wavy/curly hair. im so over the cult-y cg world where they act like silicones and sulfates will kill you and obsessing too much on what their curl pattern is. i stopped trying to distinguish mine cause the pattern is different for all 10 hair strands that ive checked in one seating

Xweetibird: Ah, wish I knew about this before this video! My hair is super spiral-y and curly in the shower and it dries practically straight almost every time no matter what I do to it or put in it so far! Braid outs last forever, sometimes I can manage an even loose wave look that lasts for a few days if I spend like 5 hours and sell my soul, but as a general rule my hair is around 2c-3a when wet and MAYBE 2a when it's dry. So frustrating fine hair, pretty high density, I feel like I've tried everything lol. Picked up a denman brush alternative today at the store so who knows maybe that will help QuQ

1AmMarissa: I have a lot of fine, low porosity hair. This is a great series!

saraargyriadis: Hey Mel & Amanda, thank you for all your videos, they're super helpful and fun! Listen, I have a problem. I have wavy hear, and once all the products are in, it has been diffused and sealed, my hair simply drops. At the end of the afternoon almost all my curls are gone:( does this mean I should use more gel, or is my hair simply hopeless?

vanessa poncho: please make this a series! it would be amazing!!

Louise Lacroix: Yea please, make it a series! I learned so much in today’s video, not only for myself but for the different curl types of my family You’re an amazing source of reliable info! Can’t wait to watch your work every Tuesday

Lynn Saker: Happy Texture Tuesday!!!☺️☺️☺️

Shale: Mel thank you so much for covering low porosity products! My curls are fine and low porosity but high density so it has been so weighed down by the thick creams I’ve been using. Can’t wait to try some of these suggestions!
