Hey guys, what's up welcome to my channel, i'm brianna and today is the best day of my life, because i am here with you guys and if you're interested, if you've been struggling, trying to figure out which relaxer to use this is the perfect video for you. So keep on watching. I have gotten so many questions about this very topic, and i've also gotten concerns and things like that about what i do with my hair. So i wanted to come and make this video, although i have made a video in the past similar to this one. I haven't really geared it towards you guys. So that's what i wanted to do today. I'Ll leave my previous video up in the cards and down in the description box, but today we're going to jump right into which relaxer you should be using. So first things. First, you want to use a live relaxer or a no lie relaxer. Those are the two different types of relaxers and i'm gon na tell you the difference in which one i use right now so lie. Relaxer is the relaxers that i use, which are jar relaxers or relaxers that come pre-mixed. I'Ve been using live relaxers for forever and i absolutely love them because i have now figured out the code and i've cracked it and i know how to apply those relaxers perfectly without any scalp burns or anything like that. But i love live relaxers. It'S easy all! You do is base your scalp and you just go in and apply it easy peasy one and done no mixing. No anything like that, and it just comes out with perfect results with my fine tuning that i have to that. I have done over the years. So the other type of relaxer is a no lie, relaxer, which is the relaxer a box relaxer. What people call it, or also a relaxer that you have to mix the contents because um it comes like separate, so basically, a low eye. Relaxer has calcium in it, and calcium can be harsh on the hair strands lie relaxer can be harsh on the scalp, so this is something that you want to figure out, which one would be best for you if you suffer with scalp burns easily, without even like Really having the relaxer on for two minutes or so maybe you should definitely try a milder relaxer. If that doesn't work, maybe you should switch to no light relaxer, because the light can be harsh on the scalp. Now, if you know you don't have any scalp issues. Um then a lie: relaxer may work for you, but a no lie. Relaxer can be harsh on the strands because of the calcium and calcium can dry out your hair strands, but i feel like now we have so many relaxed hair. Ladies who have done the research who have done the work and they've been able to combat those issues, but either way either relaxer that you use you're going to be taking out important things for the from the hair. We are taking away bonds and rearranging bonds breaking bonds. We are taking away protein. We are taking away so many things from the hair that we have to make sure to add back in so no matter whether you're, using a light, relaxer or a no lie relaxer. This is something that you guys need to know different products to use to combat that, so that when you relax your hair, it can be healthy and you can add those great things back into your hair that you have lost during the relaxer process. If you don't want a harsh relaxer chemical on your hair, then use a lie. Relaxer, if you don't want a harsh chemical on your scalp and use a no light, relaxer, of course, within those relaxers you have strengths. I use a mild or a regular strength. I will never use a super relaxer, a strong relaxer any longer, because i don't need it for what i do and i leave texture in my hair. So i do not need like a really really high strength. Relaxer. I don't think anybody needs a high strength relaxer, but that's just me, like i said, everybody's different. You know you're here so act accordingly, but for me i used to use super relaxers. I don't anymore. I find that using a my relaxer is just perfect just fine. I get the results that i want and i'm able to avoid scalp burns because i make sure not to apply the relaxer at my base of my scalp right away. I'Ll definitely apply it like 1 4 from the scalp at first then i'll go back in and apply it to the length of the new growth and then i will rinse it out. So, of course, you know you're not really supposed to touch your scalp with relaxer, but that can definitely be hard, especially when you're getting your edges and everything like that. I make sure to do my edges last and i also make sure to reach the very bit of the bottom of the new growth last so that i don't experience any burns. It'S easy peasy my whole relaxer process. Nothing is burning, i'm comfortable and i'm not like squirming to get in the shower to rinse it out, because i have learned a way to apply the relaxer effectively to where it's not ruining my scalp and causing burns scalp burns can be very painful. They can be very nasty, looking oozing scabs, it can even give you hair loss. It can break your hair off, so you want to make sure that you are not having any of the scalp burning issues. I feel like that's the thing that people remember so well. They remember the scalp burns, they remember like itching their head after the relaxer because of the scalp burns or their head was itching and honestly for me, that's the thing of the past. I have not experienced scout burns in years and i'm so thankful and grateful that i was able to crack the code on that and really learn how to properly relax my hair myself and be comfortable enough to not be able to. You know burn myself while also doing my relaxer in an effective way things like pre-sectioning your hair before you know, relaxing the base cream that i use for sensitive scalp, just everything all the steps that i use for my relaxer has really prepped my hair really good. For relaxer days, so i will leave my relaxer process up in the description or up in the car. Should i say so that you guys can see that process but um, like i said, i have learned over the years how to correctly relax my hair. There also has to be some, you know researching on your own as far as trial and error and figuring out what works for you in that sense, when it comes to a brand of relaxer, you want to make sure that this is a trusted brand, a brand That has been around for a long time. You don't want to get any type of knockoff relaxers and generic relaxers. I don't even know if they have those but get name brand. Relaxers different brands that i have heard over the years is ors: um, affirm, dark and lovely motions. Motions is the one that i use right now currently, so they are all companies that i have heard for forever, and i know that when i'm using their line, it's been around forever and haven't people haven't had any issues with using them. I know healthy hair relaxed. Ladies on social media, from youtube from instagram that have used all these different types of relaxers and they have not had any problems. Some people use these relaxers, faithful, so faithfully. So take that into consideration and if you are looking into a brand that maybe i didn't name or maybe you haven't seen, anybody use yourself, search it on youtube research, it on google, look at the ingredients. Look at the reviews see what people have to say about it and make an educated you know decision when using or with deciding on which relaxer you want to use. So, just because you see me using something does not mean that i am telling you to use it, because that whatever i'm using is something that works for me or, if i'm using it, i'm also, you know demoing it for you all, so you all can see How it's working for me, and maybe that can also help you on making a decision to whether you're going to go with that one go with something similar or go with that type of relaxer just in a different brand. But, like i said whatever, it is just make sure that you do your own research as if you are just starting your hair journey, you may have to try different brands. You may have to try different types of relaxers to see which one fits you, but i have been on a hair journey for an extremely extremely long time and i have tried so many things and, like i said, i just stick with what works, but i am Also, someone who you know people come to for advice and you know try to get information from me, my channel and the content that i create. So i do want to or i do feel like. I have to try different things, which i do and, of course, i'm not going to leave you guys wrong. I'M not going to tell you guys anything, that's false or wrong. So, like i said, you just have to be careful when it comes to relaxers and if you want more of a textured look, definitely do not leave the relaxer on long, i would say as soon as you put it on and get it in good rinse it Out immediately and don't rub it in and all that good stuff, but i'll leave like a relaxer routine up in the cars just so you guys can check that out with the little tidbits that i have given you in this video you know take wherever you need To if you have any questions, make sure you guys comment down below but in a nutshell that - or these are different ways that you can decide which relaxer, which type of relaxer what strength of relaxer would best fit. You in your hair and your hair journey, but make sure, like i said that you are making an educated decision looking up the reviews, looking up how to work for other people looking at the ingredients and just making sure that you know your scalp and your hair Strands so hopefully this video helped. You guys comment down below. If you have any questions and we will chat down there, i love you all so much. If you want to know anything else, just comment that down below as well and i'll try to get that video out for you, so remember guys do what you love and love what you do, and i will see you guys next time, bye,

Msnetnet Jones: Yes it's Lye for me too. I used to use the box kind when I was alot younger. Noticed overtime my hair started to look dry and brittle...made the change and my hair immediately looked less dry and had a much silkier feeling.

Celeste Amour: I keep trying to go natural especially since I’ve always wanted an afro but once my hair gets to a certain length I just can’t do it. I never had any issues taking care of my relaxed hair and I don’t really have issues taking care of my natural hair either but relaxed hair is just so much easier for me. I think I’m going to relax my hair any day now lol. Your hair looks healthy and beautiful

Talia Joy Elias: Hello, thank you for the valuable content I've decided after 11 years of being natural to transition into Lye relaxers...I love when you explained you use of the lesser harsh relaxers so you can retain texture...that is goals for me! Also can I use grease as the cream base before applying the relaxer? What do you recommend?

Lesannees60: Thank you so much for this video!! After 13 years with a natural TWA, I decided to get a relaxer recently while traveling. Got a pixie cut and absolutely love it. But here’s the catch: Now I’m back home and am having a hard time finding a local salon who uses the brand relaxer I have Syntonics (lye-based, verrry gentle, botanicals, no breakage, love it). I want to still use it but if I can’t, what do I do? Should I just use a different relaxer as long as it’s the same base (lye)? I’ve heard you shouldn’t “overlap” relaxers because they have different formulas, but what do you do in this case?

Riana Anaïs: I love Affirm Fiberguard. I've been self relaxing since the beginning of the pandemic and I see a complete difference in my previous strands vs the ones I've self relaxed. Thicker, stronger and darker.

kimberly james: I've had way less breakage using silk elements I also love the heat protect

Ray Brady: I had relaxed my hair back in 2020 my mom told me to leave it in longer even though it was burning, I washed the relaxer out after 30 MINUTES (BIG NO NO) my hair was falling out and melted and my scalp had really bad burns, I shaved my head the next day and my mom felt really bad for not listening to me. I am now natural after shaving my head again in summer 2020 and getting a fro-hawk in summer 2021 I am not considering relaxing my hair soon and this video has been a MASSIVE HELP, Thank You!

misslauryn: i don’t relax my hair i texturise my hair, and i use no-lye box texturiser and my hair loves it (it’s soft and beautiful botanicals regular so it isn’t just a normal texturiser it caters to the hair). i only actually texturise my hair twice/once a year as i tend to keep it in protective styles, i let my real hair out in the summer and maybe in the spring/autumn but never in the winter. whenever my stylist texturises my hair my hair is always left looking shiny and healthy (we don’t use all of the steps only the texturiser, before she uses her own products)

Ess Beezy: I used both. But the lye relaxer didnt take after a while and yes i used super Also scalp burns can be triggered by scalp irritation such as scratching the scalp and having plaits and braids immediately prior to having it done.

Aquila Gustave: Great video, I've always wondered why my hair is always so dry no matter how much I deep condition and pamper my hair. I big chopped last month but I think I will switch to Lye relaxer when start to relax again.

Carbonet: Your air dried hair looks amazing and I think you dont show it very often. can you a video about the pros and cons on having texlaxed hair vs relaxed hair and natural hair? Thanks for the video

Busisiwe Majola: Hello Bri I would like to ask your opinion on the Mizani relaxer and you mentioned that we should look at the ingredients in most of your videos but I wasn't apply to find a video that explains those ingredients So my request is your opinion on Mizani relaxer and what are the ingredients to avoid and to go for ...if you could try the relaxer and make a video after it would be highly appreciated plus Mizani seems to be a trend

XSHARXVIBES: The box relaxers worked for me but getting braids ( especially twists) break off the hair after taking them out. But tbh I guess it depends on the person

rjmami8508: I’m more of a lye girl myself. Specifically Affirm Fiberguard, because it allowed me to stretch suuuper long for me with very little breakage. I just got remember to base EVERY LITTLE THING because it will bite me

MiSsV117: I use a mild no lye relaxer. It just always works for me.!

RelaxedWithDee: I got a relaxer burn ONE time and that’s all it took for me to be scared for life Great video Gorgeous ✨

Siam Soup: I have (had) virgin 4c hair and used the ORS lye relaxer….yea my hair laughed at me. Went from a 4C to a 4c lmao

Tarasuewithlove: You are just so awesome! Thanks for such an informative video. I love your personality, honesty and transparency. Thanks for always keeping it real and . Many blessings to you dear!

Thatdanat: Do you have a video telling us what products to use for the things the relaxer takes out?

S Wisdom: Hi! You mentioned you haven't had a scalp burn in years. How about now? Also is it a case that the motions relaxer doesn't burn you whereas other brands do?

Mishika Harris: I jus started my hair journey and I recently changed my relaxer from no lye to lye because it didn't do anything for my hair I have course texture hair and my scalp is sensitive so I will try to put in my creme base overnight because I like my new growth straight so I use motions relaxer nw I love your videos alot continue to give us good advice.

Berry Divine: New subscriber ty for the information !! I’m ready to get a relaxer.

ANISSA LOVVEE: Question: I put the Luster's Pink Shortlooks (Texturizer) Curl Softener in my hair but instead straightened my hair(like bone straight). Since it is straight now and i wont be able to get my curls back anytime soon. Do you have any suggestions on what to do with my hair. Please let me know so I can figure out what to do with my hair

Nat Stam: Can one switch from one type of relaxer to another/ from lye to no lye? If yes, any tips to do this best?

Lolo Future: When i use lye relaxer at home my hair is always under processed. Thank God I finally decided to go back to no lye

Tracey Lennon: Lo-lye relaxer would be just right for me!

Patricia Johnson: Any box relaxer are to strong and they say it’s no lye but most of the time box relaxer do have lye in them so be cautious. You have to use a professional relaxer from the retailer. I sometimes I ask my stylist to order my products so I can keep up with my hair myself as well when I’m home.

Silvia Nunez: ¡Great video! Thank youuuu

Ms. T: Should we be worried about the reports that states that Lye relaxers used by African American woman over a long period of time can put you at a higher risk for cancer ? This information has been stated for years, but I saw a recent news segment on my local news about a couple of weeks ago and was wondering should we be concerned about LYE relaxers ?

Elise: do you think i can dilute a lye relaxer with conditioner to make it milder for my 3a hair ?

Deena curls: I'm not going to lye... I don't even have relaxed hair . I just like watching your videos !

Sonya Gaskins: Great info Brianna

IHeart Shan: I’m transitioning to natural but I’ll continue to support your channel because I enjoy your content

Msnetnet Jones: Great advice btw!

Ljams life: Thank you so much this information is going to help me a lot

Bimpe Fasetire: Heyy, please I'm thinking about relaxing my hair and I don't know which relaxer to use. I'm stuck between the ors relaxer and the dark and lovely relaxer.. Please which do you think I should use?

Celeste Amour: Lol I NEED a super strength lye relaxer to be left on for the maximum time and I need to go in with a flat iron or hot comb when I’m done. Different relaxers exist because we all have different needs.

rubyred: can you use another brand relaxer on one part of your hair when you have run out of the relaxer you're using. even if they are both no lye. or go get the same relaxer to finish

Tanaka Pas: Bri. Thank you thank you for this video. I was just talking to a friend about this

Sassy D: I for one would love to know the salon relaxers cuz they tend to help my hair more than I try no lye Perms to me tend to be weak in stores for example my friend went on vacation one short swim her perm was not right she said for the next few days What happen to the perm withstood water and more any one know any I dont use relaxers but getting to the point soon i wanna try

M H: Couldn't you just put some vaseline or something on your scalp before applying the relaxer, so it won't burn your scalp?

Lusiana Salusalu: Like your video now I know the difference between the 2.

Lena Pike: I use no - lye children's relaxer I find it isn't as harsh and muncher kinder to my hair and scalp than the adult relaxers

Katherline Twilley: What if you have mold in your scalp, is it better for you use mild perm.

shernet brown: come through my hair crush with another banger, love your vids, keep n up the good work

trethemusiclearner: Hi i have a question how do you leave texture in your hair? please and thankyou

Chocolate Diamonds: Is it true that a chelating shampoo can remove the calcium build up? TIA

Youwanda Cooper: Thanks baby girl you are a life saver ❤ ❤.

Natanya Moton: Thank you for this video
