Hi everyone, my name, is ali. Welcome to my channel as requested a lot of people wanted to see this. So i'm going to be doing a tutorial on the cat beanie today, um, it's the one i did for. How much can i crochet in an hour? It'S just like does not go with this outfit at all, but this is kind of what it looks like before we get into this video. I want to thank today's sponsor lily silk. They sent me this beautiful shirt. It'S very, i feel very classy in it um. It'S just black silk and then i also got a pillow case. So this is such nice wrapping. Oh, my goodness, um i'm gon na unwrap it. Now i got black pillowcases because my hair is red and it stains everywhere, but it looks so nice, i'm so excited to use these they're so soft um, and then i also got this like you put it like this and it does like a heatless curl. So you just take your hair and you wrap it around, and then you take these silk scrunchies and then you just tie it at the bottom and i've seen this a lot. But since this is silk material, it's better for your hair and it won't make it all frizzy. So i paired my black silk shirt with some fake leather pants. This is what the outfit looks like um. This is like so out of my comfort zone. I actually wear bright colors, but i opted for this like full black fit and i kind of like it with my red hair, i kind of feel like a spy um but yeah my hair, i used um the silk heatless curl contraption and i just dampened my Hair and then i put it in for like 15 minutes, i did have to fix it a little because there are some parts that are kind of iffy, but overall it's pretty good for 15 minutes. Lilly, silk is an environmentally conscious brand, so their silk is actually sourced from mulberry trees rather than cotton, because it uses less water and they also believe in zero waste, because the fabric that is left over from making things like their bedding or their blouses is used To make smaller things like scrunchies and eye masks and not all silk is created, equals so lily, silk actually uses a hundred percent natural premium material like mulberry, silk and mongolian cashmere, and they go through great lengths to keep their products toxic, free and as clean as Possible, they have a wide range of products, colors and sizes. They have things from like bed sheets to pillowcases and blouses and pajama sets and scrunchies eye masks. You name it and they probably have it and not only is silk sustainable, but it has a lot of benefits as well. For yourself, such as your skin, it's thermoregulating, it doesn't hold as much bacteria than regular other materials such as like acrylic or cotton, and it's very soft and luxurious, even though this fabric is thin because it's thermoregulating, i feel really warm in it, and it's very strong And durable - and it's also hypoallergenic and of course you don't want to get wrinkles when you sleep, so the pillowcases. I'M really excited about it because it's supposed to prevent wrinkles and i don't need those they've - also worked with celebrities such as gwyneth paltrow, meghan, trainor and nina dobrev. So that's pretty cool. So if you're interested in any products from lily's silk make sure to go check out the link below in the description box, thank you again to lily silk for sponsoring this video make sure to comment down below what colors you're, making your cat beanie and give this Video a thumbs up if you're excited to make it also tag my instagram loot by ali. If you want to share what you created first, you will need two colors of yarn. You can also just use one color of yarn. It doesn't really it's kind of up to your preference. You'Ll need about 130 meters of it all together, so like 65 meters of each color i'll also be using a four millimeter crochet hook and then, as always, just a pair of scissors and a darning needle. So i'm gon na start with the lighter color um. I have these rolled in oops yarn, cakes already and, like i said this is for beginners, so i'm going to go as low as possible. Okay, so first you're going to start off with a slip knot. So to do that, you want to twist the yarn to make a loop. So it looks like this and then with this yarn over, you want to pull it through under so now you have that little yarn crossing here and you're just going to pull it through to make a slip. Knot then take your crochet hook, insert it in and tighten it now. It'S the part where you kind of have to measure your own head. One size doesn't fit all so i'm going to start off by chaining 70 stitches and then you can go ahead and compare it to how big you want to make your hat so to do a chain. You want to yarn over like this and then pull through two three, four: five: six: seven: eight, nine ten, eleven twelve fifteen fourteen five, sixteen seventeen eighteen, nineteen, twenty one, twenty two, forty five, three, six, seven, eight, nine three one, three, two, three, three, four five! So in total i chained seventy. So once you do how many chains you need to fit your head you're going to join the sides so make sure that it's not twisted or anything great, then you're going to insert your hook into the other end right here and then just do a slip. Knot! A slip stitch, so you have these two and then you're going to join it so yarn over pull through pull through. So now we have this circle, something that looks like this now we're going to work in a round from now on, so i'm going to be using the double crochet stitch um. If you're a beginner, you may not be familiar, so i'm just going to go through it quickly. So once you joined it, you're gon na wanna chain, three, so one two and three and into that same hole. So we built up the height you're, going to yarn over insert your hook into that hole yarn over again, pull through yarn over pull through two yarn over pull through two. So that's a double crochet and you're gon na do the exact same thing continuing on so yarn over insert into the next stitch yarn over pull through yarn over pull through two yarn over pull through two. So just continue that same stitch, all around the hat, until you're ready to join again. So i will meet you there. I ended up changing it to this pink because it matches the material of the red better. But basically, at the end, when you want to slip stitch it together, so you want to insert your hook into the chain two space or chain three space. I don't know people. Do it either way i like to do chain two personally, but then just do a slip, stitch so yarn over pull through and then pull through again yarn over and then pull through. But you can cut the yarn and then pull through all the way and tighten it. So that's like how i like to join the row and then you can bring in your next color. So simply do a slip. Knot again just like how you start every single project, so we have the slip knot, tighten it onto the hook, insert it into the first stitch of the new row and then how i like to do it is. I just do a slip stitch just just attach it to the project and then i'm going to chain two. I like, like tuck these loose ends in as i crochet, so how you do that we're going to do double crochet again, so do the double crochet in the first hole and as you're doing the double crochet like once you insert it make sure that the ends Are also on top of the hook, so when you pull through, you can catch all of them and they just get tucked behind that yarn. That'S how i like to keep my project clean, because i hate doing the uh ends at the end, especially if i've been negligent during the project. It'S a lot easier, if you think about it during the project, because you can obviously do this after you're done. But there's gon na be many rows, so yeah just again: double crochet around the entire round and i'll come back so once you've done that you're going to insert your hook into the chain, two space again yarn over pull through pull through so now it's joined. That was just a slip stitch by the way, and then you want to yarn over pull through take a pair of scissors top and then pull through all the way and tighten so there you have it, and basically, the rest of the pattern is just to keep Repeating that layer by layer, it doesn't decrease nothing changes and keep doing it until the length of your liking. This is the one i did previously and in total it is about nine inches, so i'm gon na keep doing it until i have nine inches in height. This one i did with a five millimeter hook, so the stitches are a bit bigger, so i might have to do more rows because i'm using a four millimeter hook but yeah. This is exciting. Only a lot more rows to go. Wish me luck. So i've just finished the nine inches. So now it's nine inches long and there's two four: six: eight ten twelve fourteen six eighteen rows in total, so i actually ran out of red yarn. It was like the perfect amount, so i'm happy about that. But you're just going to insert your hook into that chain, two space yarn over pull through pull through to make a slip, stitch yarn over pull through and tighten it. And now you have this cute looking tube and you can see like the seam but whatever um. So now i'm going to stitch. One of the sides closed, since this is red, i'm actually going to go, switch to the pink one you're just going to take the yarn. That'S a matching color do a slip knot once again. Actually, i want the seam to be on the side. I feel like it's at least noticeable when it's on the side, i'm going to insert it into one side and then i'm just going to be single crocheting it across and as i'm doing that, i'm going to tuck this also in so just insert through both sides. So it's going through both of these so you're joining it and then yarn over pull through yarn over pull through. So this is just a single crochet, so continue doing that for the rest, until you reach the end - and this is kind of the final step, my my nail jewel keeps getting caught into the yarn, i'm so sad. I did not think it through when i got the jewel, but it's been getting caught in my hair, my clothes, it's just been such a nuisance, but it's so cute. So i can't really complain. Okay, we're almost done now you're just going to do a final yarn over pull through take a pair of scissors chop. Have that secured? This is your entire thing now you're, just gon na do the most satisfying part and flip it all inside out. Just like that, and then what i'm gon na do is just fold the bottom up to create a little. Something like this depends on how big you want the hat, but tuck that in i'll do that later, and you got your cat beanie the same with this blue and black one that i made so just flip this up and you have your cat beanie. We got the two bright one and then the blue and black one and i'll show you what it looks like on. So this is the final cat beanie that we made together. The other one was like i made for my one hour, but um obviously does not go with this outfit again, but i think it's super cute. I don't know if i will wear this in public. I don't know if it's really my style, but i do think it's cute and it's very like thick and warm. So i if i need a beanie i'll, probably just like, like tuck these tuck these in a little bit, i don't know um but yeah. I hope you found that tutorial helpful and you were able to create your own caffeiney. Don'T forget to tag me on instagram at loop by ally your creations. I would love to see them and also give this video a thumbs up if it helped you and comment down below the colors you made them in and who you made it for. Tuệ Phương: Look prettyyyy :33

Izze Drot: Can you use this exact pattern with just one color? How would the transition between rows be different?

aly zeccola: do you chain up between rows or do u just work in the round

Sara: Hi I was wondering how many rose dis you do with the 5 mm hook

shineeswcrld: I did everything correctly but my yarn like elongated/stretched out so it looks more like a rectangle than a tube and idk why or how to fix it. Would shrinking it in the wash help?

Kira: i made this and it went super well, but the part where i started, the first chain, is super tight and the rest of the hat is loose, should i just make the first chain bigger ? but then the whole hat will be super loose, when i fold it up i can feel the chain around my head and the rest is loose

Lone Wolfie 🖤: What size yarn did you use? You didn't mention what type of yarn it is. Is it worsted? DK? Or does it not matter? Thanks x x

Move I'm gay Girls please: Can this pattern be achieved by using single crochet rather than double? (Sorry is this has an obvious answer, I’m really new to this craft)

shockichi_: Does anyone know why my hat keeps getting wider every round? I've tried to do it multiple times already, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong :( Amazing tutorial btw, I'll keep trying to do it!
