Pixie Cut Style (Hot Air Brush + Tie Headband)

Hey friends, i hope you're having a good day today. So today i am going to do a hot airbrush style. My hair does look dry, but it actually is still a little bit damp. I'M going to use this to solidify the style and i am going to use a really cool headband that i have had for several years. I think i bought it from etsy several years ago, but you can find all sorts of headbands like this they're handmade and have like a little tie. So the idea is that you would put it like this and tie it in the back. I think it's so so cute and i'm hoping to get a nice style from today. So the big news around northwest arkansas is the weather. I'M going to point my camera up and zoom in here. I'M not sure. If you're going to be able to see it is snowing outside, can you guys see that so here's what happened with the weather, by the way i'm gon na go ahead and spray a before style spray? This is something i just recently got not your mother's all eyes on me, ten in one hair perfector, and this is like what you would spray on your hair before you style, but basically it adds body it detangles. It adds shine, it protects moisturizes controls, frizz repairs, dry, hair, heat protection, men split in so it's just a good like after hair wash spray to use before you dial, i'm just gon na spray. This all on my hair. So anyway, let me talk about the weather. A little bit more honestly, like last winter, northwest arkansas is where i live. We got maybe a couple dustings in the entire winter. I think this is the fourth or fifth time it snowed this year, but we probably have six inches on the ground when we woke up this morning. We'Re gon na get another couple inches today and then we'll have a day break and then the forecast is another. Five to ten inches in the middle of the week, which is more snow than i've ever seen in northwest arkansas, and i've been here like 20 years. So we are excited and it's super pretty, but nobody's going anywhere, everybody's stuck at home, not that we go anywhere. Anyways since i work from home and my husband also works from home, okay, oh speaking of the weather, we were like hadn't gone grocery shopping for two weeks. We usually do a walmart grocery pick up every two weeks and we didn't know it was gon na ice. It said it was going to be cold, but we didn't know it was going to ice in it iced. So we were unable to get groceries last week. So now we're three weeks without groceries and all this whole next week we're not going to be able to get out because we'll be stuck here. We are in a place where, because very often we don't get snow or icy weather, so our infrastructure for taking care of icy roads is not as good as somewhere else like, maybe up north. So when it does snow here, you pretty much are stuck at home until they get the ropes cleared, and we haven't seen anyone out today and it's a monday today is the monday before you guys will be watching this video anyway, let me get started before my Hair completely gets dry sitting here. This is a generally hot airbrush i'll link, my very original video up above where i did a review on this. I'M not sure if this particular model is on amazon still. I think it is so if, if it is, i will definitely link it down below in the description, but these are really nice, because not only do they kind of smooth things out, they also dry. Your hair and style it all in one step, so i'm just going to do this on high and what i'm going to focus on. I kept this part over here to this side. I'M going to focus on having some hair come down straight here, because i want to put that headband over the top here, so just getting some volume in this hair. Okay, my hair feels really good. Actually i deep conditioned it today, just fyi. I deep condition. My hair every weekend, usually right before i do this video, my weekly video for you guys, but this weekend i used a new thing that i just got, and this is nelson beverly hills, moisture healing mask and it was pretty amazing. I left it on for 10 minutes and my hair feels amazing. So if you're in the same boat i am which is, i've got damaged, hair from the bleaching and just an update for you guys. I am growing out my hair. I am not gon na bleach. It anymore, i'm gon na give my hair a break. Hopefully a couple year break, but you can see my hair has grown out about maybe a half inch so far, but it's already feeling better just having some of my natural hair grow in that is not bleached. So i'm gon na try to get my hair back into a healthy shape. Okay, something that i think will also help in this style. I'M going to use a little travel flat iron i'll link, a similar one down below. I haven't been able to find this exact one for sale, so i will link a similar travel flat iron down below, but these work so great for pixie cuts because they're so little. The first step here will be. What does it look like with it on here, and what do i want to do with my hair? So i'm going to pull some of this down. The question is: do i want to keep this deep part? I think i do so. I think what i want to do is have this part go back. I think i want to flat iron this part a little bit because there's so much volume in it right now and it's kind of sticking straight up. That'S another thing is: how do you style your hair when you're doing a grow out like i am to where it still can look? Okay and not like oh man, she's got an inch of growth. That'S another kind of tricky thing that i'm going to be dealing with in the coming months. So what i think i'm going to do is i'm going to flat iron the top here just to let it lay a little bit easier. I find that flat ironing with either a big one or a small one is easier. If you have a comb, because you can take your comb and lift up your hair from the comb, not sure if you guys can hear the birds, but i have my window open, that's another thing this morning it was negative four degrees fahrenheit. That is super cold. For this area, we had to drip our faucets overnight and by the way we have enough food to eat. I do want to say that our freezer is full and our pantry is full. It'S just all of the like the milk and the eggs and the cheese stuff that we're out of veggies. That'S another thing we're out of so we have plenty of food, and my mom also lives next door, so she's been making us bread and such so. I'M gon na be flat ironing my bangs here to try to get them to calm down a little bit all right. So i'm going to take the bulk of this hair right here. Comb it out of the way leave my bangs there. I'M gon na tie it below the back of my head. Okay. Now this is the part where we can actually mess with this to make it look better. I'M gon na just take a wide tooth comb here and pull out some of the spots that are stuck underneath. The band i'm gon na try something else when you're just playing around. If it doesn't look good, try something different and that's what i always do. Let'S try it a little bit further back honestly, a band like this would be cute, even if your hair was super super short, okay, i think it's coming together. Let'S do the flat iron just a little bit more up here. Maybe we can see if we can get it to curl over on itself. You can use the little travel flat irons to put a little curl in the end of it too. All right, i think, i'm liking what this is looking like. So what i'm going to do now is i'm going to take this off and i'm going to put a little bit of product on this is bumble and bumble bb thickening cream contour about that much. I think it's coming together. This looks so retro. I think so. You can pull some chunks out and leave some underneath there honestly. I think these little headbands would be so easy to make, especially if you were into embroidery, you could totally make these they're gorgeous all right, i'm liking. This add a little bit of hairspray to solidify this style. Let'S take a look at the sides in the back. Oh, that is too cute from the side, so that is the right side. I really like how the side looks here, and this is the left side, and this is the back. What do you guys think? Do you like it? I think it came out super cute. This is just another little style you can do with your pixie cut. I have an undercut pixie that is growing out right now, but i think it is adorable with this undercut pixie. Obviously, since mine's growing out so much any pixie, you could do this with what i really like about this is the band is small enough that i think you don't have to have long hair. This looks great with short hair. I will see if i can come up with some links to some other headbands on etsy, but if you're interested in this, i would definitely suggest you search etsy. That'S where it's basically like a marketplace where people that do all sorts of different crafts and homemade items. That'S a marketplace where they sell their wares. My hair feels great today after that deep condition, and actually this genry hot airbrush, helped me kind of get the styles situated and then, of course, use the little travel flat iron and my cream contour.
