In the past, i knew what it was like to have very long, curly hair. Now i know what it's like to have short curly hair, but tomorrow i'm gon na discover what it is like to have very short, curly hair, because i'm getting another chop y'all. I honestly don't miss my long hair like at all. I can say that i have zero regrets. However, there are definitely pros and cons to short curly hair that i wasn't aware of until i became a fellow mushroom head. First, let's look at the cons. Okay, this is the internet. People don't want anything, positive and happy okay, they want the nitty gritty they want the drama. One short hair requires a lot of trims if you want to keep that specific short style, which is definitely something that i did not think about. My trims are not cheap. Okay. If i don't want to look like, i got chewed up by a weed whacker. I got ta pay a curly hair expert, okay and that does not come cheap. Two. You never know what you're gon na get cutting your curly hair short for the very first time is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gon na get. Maybe you wanted a twix, but you ended up getting a babe ruth and you're like i. Don'T know about them salty nuts, and you will never know unless you just go for it number three. I need to wash more often because short hair is more prone to losing its shape and because it's short, the sebum, reaches the end of my hair strand way. Faster, so it gets oily way faster, thus creating the need to wash more often now. Let'S look at the pros. One super low maintenance, my shower routine, is so much faster. I used to spend one hour minimum detangling, my hair, because i had so much knots and dryness, so it is really dope to just be able to jump to the shower and jump right back out for this wash day. I'M using the maui moisture, flaxseed, shampoo and conditioner. They contain aloe vera juice as the first ingredient, as well as coconut water and linseed oil. The shampoo is my favorite product from this line, because it provides a very thorough cleanse without stripping the hair and the conditioner provides moisture that isn't greasy. If you would like to try any of these products check the link down below in the description box beautiful two. It'S more versatile: i used to never do hairstyles because my hair was way too long and styling took forever and now i can actually be creative. I do a lot of cute hairstyles with bandanas and scarves and hats and headbands and best of all i can slake my hair back now, which i've always wanted to do and i feel slick as freak number, three, no stress baby, hakuna matara. I used to always stress out about ruining my hair. I didn't like people touching it or bumping it or having to put it up in a bun or going to the gym or swimming or stuff. You know, like i was afraid to ruin my hair, because i was ruining all my hard work, but now, since my washes, are so quick and easy and my hair dries faster, i don't really care that much about ruining it plus. If i do ruin it. I just slick it back. It'S awesome. I'M telling y'all tomorrow, i'm gon na be cutting my hair even shorter and i'm a little nervous because i don't know what it's going to look like. But you know what. If it comes up, i don't just shave my head right, which i've always wanted to do anyway. So, okay, i need to leave in five minutes, but i'm gon na refresh my hair real quick first thing i do. Is i fluff my hair. I kind of just go like this: it helps to loosen them and to give me a little bit more volume, so i kind of just have frizz everywhere, because i just woke up: i'm gon na be using the maui moisture, flaxseed curl, refresher mist. It contains aloe vera juice, coconut water and linseed oil, which are very lightweight refreshers and is exactly what i need right now i like to spray the product directly onto my fingertips and with that product i go curl by curl, smoothing them down to get rid of The frizz and to revive them with moisture, shine and definition a little goes a very long way and there we go. I got ta go for this haircut. I went back to the original hairdresser who gave me this haircut and that is michaela. Oh, i really trust her and i really love her work. I showed her a picture of what i wanted to get and i asked her honest opinion on my hair texture. I think it'd be great. He'S super cute. I think so, and you're good at styling. Your hair, like, if you weren't good at styling, your hair, maybe i might be more concerned, but i know you'll be able to handle it. So this is my new hair. Yeah honestly, i can say that short curly hair life is definitely for me. I just don't really see myself going back to long hair. I personally feel like people paint short curly hair as something that is not very desirable. Long curly hair is the goal right for us to grow our hair as long as possible and have it as curly as possible, which is not a bad thing at all, but long curly hair should be a preference and not the ideal goal for everyone. When i had long hair, i felt like that was my identity. You know that was my identifier, but now i feel like my hair is an extension of me and who i am and a true sense of self-expression. So it makes me so much happier there's this underlying fear when it comes to cutting curly hair, because you know we don't want it to be too short or what, if it's too curly, to look good on me, which is a completely valid fear, because if you Get a bad hairdresser, they could really mess you up and it may not come out how you wanted it to so. If you want to cut your curly hair short here, are my personal tips go to google maps and type in curly haircut? This is going to pull up salons near you that have the word curly haircut on their website. Look at the salons with the highest reviews, check out their website and see if they have any portfolios to show how they cut curly hair check out the instagram profile of that hairdresser, so that you can see their past work and before you book the appointment send A dm to the hairdresser show them what your hair looks like now and what you want it to look like ask them if they feel confident to do this haircut. The first hairdresser that i spoke to straight up told me no. I do not feel confident doing this haircut, but i feel confident with this person doing your haircut. That'S who i went to and she's done amazing every single time. So do your research and ask around if you want to have a good experience and end up with hair that you would like not with hair that you're gon na hate alrighty y'all, so that is my pixie cut. Let me know what you think. Let me know if you've ever had a pixie cut if you're wanting a pixie cut. As always thank you for watching, and i hope you have a great day. You

layna n: The daring, positive, and CONFIDENT energy is everything!!! Cutting your hair unleashed that BOSS BABE!!!!

hippo7578: This looks stunning with your face shape and makes your features stand out. Really classy, stylish look!

a88y _: I couldn’t relate more to the idea that “my long curly hair is my identity” I straight up didn’t want to cut my hair because I thought having long curly hair was my THING, but then I just said fuck it and chopped it all off and it’s so much healthier and fuller. You are actually the one who inspired me to even consider getting as much off as I did. I now am thriving with 15 inches less of my old self and I couldn’t be happier ❤️

Cassandra Robel: I just read something about when a woman cuts her hair short, she's going through serious stuff or having a mental breakdown... dude. I love the fact that you and other women are smashing that assumption. I've literally lived the past 20 years in cycles - growing long then cutting super short. I love the drastic change and the freeing feeling you get when you chop it all off. I also was dedicated to donating virgin hair to places that create wigs for children and burn victims. There is a super awkward grow out phase with pixies. It lasts about 9-12 months if you have average to low hair growth rate (1/2-1/4" per month). But it allows you to get creative with your styles - or - have fun with wigs! I always though about shaving my head ever since I was a teenager after I saw a woman with her head shaved for the first time in my life. I thought she looked incredibly strong and brave and super cool. Finally, after 20 years, I did it myself. Yeah, I cheated a little bit because I buzzed it when the whole world shut down back in March 2020 - but I regret nothing! I absolutely loved it. The only thing that was keeping me from shaving it was the fear of what people would think, "OMG - she's having a mental breakdown" or "girl looks like a dude" or whatever. That fear was the tipping scale for me. It's been more than 19 months since the shave and I'm loving the grow out and have a waist - length goal in mind... but honestly.. I'll probably shave it again once I reach my goal or get sick of it along the way LOL. As long as you can stand the weird grow-out lengths... go for a shorter 'do if that's what you want to do. It's your hair and guess what - it grows back. PS - I'm sorta low key sus that Penny will shave her head one day

Alyssa Ayala: Literally cut my hair after watching you cut yours! Best decision I ever made my confidence has just skyrocketed finally can appreciate my curly hair and love wearing it down!

Rabéa T: I'm sure all my hairy girls here and maybe Penny can relate to this. I once asked the stylist to cut my hair in a short almost-pixie cut. This woman told me it's best not to, or I'll have to wax the hair behind my ears and neck because it will show with the short hair.THE NERVE. I was 15 at the time, and didn't really know how to stand up for myself, and she really brought my self-esteem down at the time. But now I just do whatever I want and cut my hair myself. AND I NEVER WAX THE HAIR BEHIND CAUSE I NEVER CARED ABOUT IT! I don't see it, I don't care for it lol

littlemeli2493: Short hair fits you so well :')

Amanda Burgos: I’m loving your vibe when it comes to living your life and doing what’s best for you. Also, I’m def feeling your decorative pieces in the room your are filming!

Sohini Sanyal: I literally died when you showed us the finished results of your final cut. It looks. SO. DAMN. GORGEOUS; literally .

Megan: I think the most respectable thing about any type of professional is when they will actually tell you they’re not comfortable giving you what you asked for. I would recommend them to others just for being honest

Gabi Maza: I got a pixie cut when I was 22… I had just gotten out of the hospital after a suicide attempt. And I cut my hair off because I felt like we’ll nothing matters and I want less things to worry about. It was fine … I straightened it a lot though. Then I went to get it re shaped and cut because the up keep is annoying. And this woman ruined my hair! She gave me a mullet before those where trendy. And I paid $60 for that trash. And I spent a whole year growing it back out. After that I never straightened my hair again and it’s past my chest. And I still don’t like to deal with it. Lol. I’m always in a constant battle. But I’m getting it cut in 2 weeks! Still don’t know what to do with it. We’ll see what happens. It looks mad cute on you though penny!

Ramya Umamaheshwaran: I love how you mentioned that your long hair was previously your identity and now your new short hair feels like an extension of who you are. It is something a lot of girls go through but don't necessarily realize it as a huge problem. We get caught up with our hair and how to maintain it so much that we forget that it shouldn't matter too much. The inside is more important. Also, love the short curly hair and you are glowing with happiness these days

Stephanie PD: Used to have long hair that went down to my butt, and now I have my second pixie cut. On Halloween, I was in the bathroom with my dry looking hair and randomly decided to book an appointment to get a pixie cut on the same day (an hour before to be exact). My parents were kind of sad, but I do not regret it at all. Short hair makes me feel so much happier and freer.

Wilmary Hernandez: Girl, I love to see you grow into a happier, more confident version of yourself. You look stunning

Chilled Llama: Penny your videos are so unique and funny! I remember being here watching your videos 4 years ago on curly hair, me growing mine out as a guy. Its so great to see your channel grow, nothing but the best! Thanks for always being you!

theGoose -: PENNY. As I said previously, I like your cut, P! Looks great. I have literally been going through the same thing this year. I chopped all my long curls because it was devastating to work on for my mental health. Then I got an actual haircut which did wonders for my confidence. Then! I went even shorter with a more traditionally masculine cut. Buzzed sides and long on top. Now I've been growing it out bc its winter and it's almost long enough now that I'll be able to style it the way you've been styling your hair since your first cut. I'm so happy that you're expressing yourself the way you want to. I've been doing the same! I got a vertical labret piercing and I have a huge back and shoulders tattoo in the works. I'm still designing it mentally and need to get pen to paper. Thanks for sharing your developments. I love seeing you<3

FAMM 614: I LOVE YOUR HAIR IN EVERY LENGTH! and I had a pixie cut twice cuz I've had long hair for at least 18 years of my life so once I've started cutting it I never stopped, it's addicting, it makes you feel good, and in control, and it's exciting to see how it will turn out.

Reyna Cura: Girl you rock it! I decided one year ago cut my long hair just for try something different and I love it, I just can't imagine about going back to long hair again Love your confidence ❤️

Honey Rose: I got a pixie cut almost five months ago and I absolutely love it so much. It’s a bit shorter than yours, think Twiggy or the actress from Harry Potter when she got her curly hair cut into a short pixie cut (I don’t know her name). Unfortunately I have to let my hair grow out because I can’t afford to get the trims every four weeks to maintain the style which I didn’t think of when I first got the hair cut because I didn’t know how in love with it I was gonna be. Having short hair has been wonderful and I’ve been recommending it to everyone to try at least once, the showers and not having to worry about hair is just amazing. I’m sad to have to grow it out because this style has finally made me feel like myself, long hair just isn’t me anymore, not even shoulder length. Maybe one day I will have the funds to keep up with the pixie haircut trims, fingers crossed.

luckyDancer100: I just cut my hair to my shoulders and I’m loving it! You don’t realize how much time it takes to wash long hair until you cut it. It really cuts down on my time in the shower. I’m not sure if I have the face for truly short hair. Penny looks perfect with it short, so I’m still taking baby step. But I 100% agree about doing what’s right for you, and not the “ideal” female standard.

Bonnie Lavoie: I love all of this so much! I had my husband cut my long hair in January and I can't believe how easy curly hair life can be! I didn't realize what a stressor my long curly hair was in my life! During the pandemic, working as a nurse, my long hair just became a nuisance to me. I actually just keep wanting to go shorter!

rach3vz: This haircut looks so beautiful on you! I had my hair pixie length for about 8 years, and now it’s grown out to my midback. Once you’ve experienced both sides of the curly hair coin (long and short), you definitely miss the simplicity of short hair... i definitely have experienced my long curly hair taking on a life of its own in other people’s eyes, and I’ve really been missing my old short hair - which is how I came across you channel, when I was looking up videos that would convince me yea or nay on the hair cut idea....

Brenna Tomlinson: I cut my waist length curly hair into a pixie at the end of my senior year of high school, i didn't tell anyone before going to the salon because i knew they would try to convince me out of it! i knew what i wanted and it was the best decision! i spent the beginning of college, cutting it shorter and shorter, buzzing it off myself in my dorm, dying it colors and having fun. Now i'm a senior in college with a curly bob and i can't see myself having hair any longer than this for the rest of my life!

Judith App: I love both lengths on you, the short-medium at the beginning and the pixie cut at the end. These types of haircuts look sooo good on you. Also, the curls look glossy and defined but really natural at the same time and love that chocolate colour on them...

Flawlesslmperfection: This video is nothing but truth!! Up until last year, I always had long hair and it was a pain to wash, style, manage, etc., but I felt obligated to keep it long because my friends and family always complimented it and said I should never cut it. Getting a bob was the single greatest thing I have ever done with my hair. I feel like I've been set free after all the struggles I had trying to tame my long hair! My hair is so much healthier, less frizzy, and quick and effortless to style.

Margaret Lopez: Seeing you cut your hair was so refreshing. My hair wasn't as long as yours but it was long and a few weeks ago I cut it short. I have been saying that now I want it a little shorter and everyone thinks I'm crazy but here you go cutting yours even shorter. Now I'm definitely doing it. You look so FIERCE with your pixie cut! ❤️

Milyy Pink: Love it !!! I’m one of those people who’s hair is straight at the roots and starts to wave/curl the longer is gets so my “pandemic journey” has been embracing my natural curl instead of straightening it into shape as I’ve done for the last 10+ years. It is a lot of effort, but I haven’t appreciated my hair as much as I do now that I know how to care for it. I tried a pixie cut, I’ve tried bangs, I’ve tried no bangs, I’ve tried long, short, and medium length. Nothing has given me as much satisfaction as just letting my natural curl form with the right wash/post-wash routine. I feel like a ball of static when I don’t give my hair the right care these days Glad you were able to embrace a style that works for you! Keep becoming the you that you always wanted to be

Alejandra Durazo: You look amazing Penny! I also had a pixie cut a few years back before starting my hair journey, I loved it! But i definitely wanted to see my hair's potential when it was long :) might go back to pixie if it gets too unmanageable. Definitely agree with you! Long hair should be a preference ❤️

Xiomara Videz: I thought I loved your first haircut, then you did your second and OMG, it looks so cute! **Cries in Spanish**

dania alh: you encouraged me to get the short haircut I’ve always wanted and I’m never going back to anything past shoulder length curls! I finally enjoy my hair and can just wear my curls freely

saffir333: Shaved my head last year (like everyone did) lol & I’ve been having fun with colors like blue, lime green, green and now a deep ocean blue. I also got an undercut for the first time ever earlier this year and it was cool af! having more “masculine” haircuts made me feel this sense of freedom after holding on to the idea that long hair makes you beautiful for so long since that’s what society taught us. I also loved the feeling of my buzzcut! If yall been thinking about it this is YOUR lol

Gabby: Yessss❤️ I chopped my hair just how you did about 3 years ago, and then kept going shorter too It was the best decision I ever made with my hair besides going curly in the first place. It was the most liberating feeling!

YK: I just wanna say you inspire me so much with your most recent videos. There’s so much I’ve been going through mentally and I just appreciate you sharing your journey with us because it makes me feel less alone

Brianna P: 2 years ago I shaved off all my hair for fun, I was soo in love with it! Watching my curls growing out healthily again! I've been trying to grow my hair our past my shoulders but, this video REALLY made me miss the curly short hair life!! Time to do some thinking..

Alex Tridento: I've had every cut and color and done all the styles you could think of. I've got curls too. I grew up extremely poor though, so I got one haircut a year, and it would be a pixie cut, and then for a whole year, it would just grow. We didn't have the money to take care of my hair properly, we were on that 97 cent suave life yall. I didnt know what a leave in, or a mask was until I was like, almost 18. But as an adult I've really learned my hair and played around with it so much more. I just want to let yall know that it's so worth it to cut it all off even just one time, too see what it's like. As an AFAB person, so much of our femininity is tied to hair length and freeing yourself of that is so good. To truly have your femme energy come from within you and not something on the outside. It's a powerful journey that I wish for everyone. Even if you just grow it right back out and never cut it short again, it's still something that you've done to prove to yourself that long hair doesn't define you. Penny is so right about how long hair is the ideal but it should be a preference. I believe the same for men, grow your hair out, even just once. It teaches you more about you as a person and what you like and introduces you to questioning those roles and stigmas we are fed based on our assigned genders. I have guy friends who only ever got one haircut their whole life cuz it's the cut their dad got, or the cut their mom picked. Then they met me and I'm very much a "if it makes you uncomfortable or scared, but it's not going to actually harm you, then it's a sign to just do it." (Obvs this is for things like hair length or trying new things like a new style or new food, etc. I do not encourage unsafe situations. If yall are uncomfy that's also a sign to stop if it's like, you know, a serious situation. If that makes sense. Gotta clarify before someone goes off in the comments) but, back to the topic, they met me and now they're questioning so much of the things they do or of what they were programmed to be. Gender roles, style, religion, etc. It's ALWAYS good to explore and find out for yourself what you truly like, unattached to what society says. And if it looks bad, (hair) then you can always get a wig, wear a hat or a bandana, or get it cut a different way to look better (that pixie grow out stage is an ever present battle with mullets, so if mullets aren't your thing, trims are your new bff) or find new ways to style it. It takes about a year for my hair to grow out to my shoulders from completely shaved. My hair grows fast, but about a year, is where a pixie grows out into a bob. So what's a year of uncomfortability for a lifetime of the things you'll learn about yourself?

Francisco Carrillo: Yooo thank you so much! I love how vulnerable you are and your honesty about…well everything lol! My hair is definitely at its longest and I really wanna donate it and I’m so nervous of going to someone That DOESNT know what they’re doing. Thank you for your advice Prima!!! Cuídate!!!!

Fabiola Cruz: I can relate sooo much! I also cut my hair very short this summer and I LOVE IT! I cant imagine going back to long curly hair for the moment! You look amazing!!!!

RyLee Ann: Honestly girl I love this cut even better than the first! It looks perfect on you love! Love the videos!

Aly: Love this video! I’m thinking about going shorter after just getting a short haircut. I love that I can do my hair in less than an hour on washdays and about 3 mins. on a normal day. Plus, the styles! When I had longer hair I did buns ALL of the time or ponytails. Now I get to be creative and do stuffs with it. I love it!

missysue4851: This cut is amazing. It looks so good on you. Definitely gives mature "I got this" vibes.

Kaitlyn Collette: I'm loving this new style on you!! And I appreciate the tips that you gave at the end, especially ab asking if the stylist is confident that they can get your hair to where you want it to be!! Thanks for sharing this journey with us! xoxo -Kaitlyn

Ro Dixon: First off, you look gorgeous! I know you don’t need my validation, but ya got it girl! Second, I relate to this journey you’ve been on so much, thank you for sharing! I got my first pixie after my son was born, I’d always wanted one but had a list of reasons why it wasn’t for me- but being a mom made me realize I don’t want to set an example of following social norms “just cuz” or playing it safe for my kid. Now it’s 3 years later and I can’t imagine going back to long hair. Why did I wait so long?! God loves me, my family loves me, I don’t need validation from others, ima do me sis, you keep doin you! ✌️

Ness Tuck: I love it! I also have naturally curly hair and have been committed to the short curly hair life for a few years now. I look at old photos, and sometimes I think "dang, I really miss my long curls..." So I grow my hair for awhile but then as soon as I start feeling the heat and tickle behind my neck... I'm like "nope!!! I hate it here... it has to go!"

Rigoberto Morales: The short curly hair suits you, I’m proud of you making that decision ! Wishing you the best

TNG: The new cut is stunning! I’ve had short pixie cuts all my life because I straightened and relaxed it so much it wouldn’t grow . Now 2 years into my transition and finally have curly healthy hair past my shoulders it’s my time for long hair now in my late twenties

Fatema Chiguer: I cut my hair pixie twice this year...i had long curly hair and it's true what you said. It takes longer hours to dry and I had to spend a lot on it to maintain healthy shiny curls. At some point it felt like a full time job and I hated that. Like I have zero regrets about getting pixie hair cut. I enjoy styling my hair even more now and my head feels light and free Thank you for sharing your experience

Karla Rivera: YOU LOOK STUNNING! I literally gasped when I saw the end result. A pixie curly hair has been my biggest dream for years but honesty I'm still afraid of doing it

CuRvI CuRvE: Loving the hair cut penny slayed as always. Short hair gang here, I can't wait for all of my hair to be the same length so it can look alot more like a haircut that suits my face frame & it will be alot more easier to manage one length. I shaved my head bald back in middle of June this year and it's grown out abit and then I decided to shave a bald undercut because the bottom of my hair was longer that the top and it didnt look good because it wasn't like a Bob cut. I havent found a hair dresser where I live who knows how to cut curly hair properly specifically the way I want it. So it been home diy until it grows a specific length again

WinstonChaychel: Love it!! I cut my hair off around the same time you did and the wake up hair is amazing . The new cut looks SO GOOD!! I wish I would have just gone a teeny bit shorter at the nape of my neck, possibly, as those pieces stick out like a fishhook, but I love it so much.

Renata Santos: This year I've got my hair cut twice, the first time it turned out pretty bad but the second time it came out amazing! and I was lucky enough to find a hairdresser who is not specialized in curly hair but managed to give me a good haircut. That thing about the hair being more oily is real! I used to wash it once a week and now I wash it almost every day, but I love how easy it is to style it.

LovedSarita: I just love it! It looks so good on you! I wasn't expecting you to have another hair cut but as always was the right decision I'm still trying to figured it out with my thin hair. I was styling my hair wet and follow all the techniques and what not but a month ago I tried damp styling and OMG my hair is perfect! I definitely need a hair cut so I'll be doing it soon so I can rock my beautiful hair

Jessica Potter: You look powerful! I buzzed my hair two years ago, and I have been growing my hair out since then. I have very tight curls, and they haven't reached my shoulders yet! You have me missing the short hair life

Alexandra a: Just got a big chop and almost regretted it but YOU OUT HERE GIVING ME CONFIDENCE WITH EVERY VIDEO ❤️❤️ love you and your representation thank you

ShallowWaters: Love both short looks on you. I have had pixie cuts before, but I straightened them. My current haircut is ever so slightly longer than your previous short cut and I love it. I feel the same way, my hair is an extension of my self and my self expression. Yay, Penny! Love, love, love this!

Allison: Love it! I got a pixie cut, I went from long to short and my partner did it. He had never cut hair before and it was through quarantine, but he actually did an awesome job. I love my pixie and I agree, My hair now is an expression of how I feel inside and the wash days are so quick. So love your hair!

Jennifer Smith: YESSSS! Serving us In Living Color early JLo vibes <3 I found your channel when my hair grew back curly after chemotherapy and I was like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Until I saw your styling tips I looked like Bob Ross's weird little sis with the mushroom haircut. My hair is long and straight now after having our little miracle baby, Amelia, last year, but I still watch to see your amazing soul shine through all your videos. You are a joy and I am here for all of these transformations you are experiencing. Bless <3

Avaja Rice: I’ve been subscribed to you for years! Lol and I think it’s funny that you’ve posted this now, cause in 8 days I’ll be doing the same thing. I went from long hair, to a bob, and I scheduled my appointment to get a pixie cut weeks ago for the 18th. So now I’m even more excited and less nervous to make that change, and to keep up with you on your journey as well! ✨

Jo Lee: Omgosh, YES!!! You're hair cut is GORGEOUS I love it! I'm actually growing mine out right now, but I really miss my pixie hair. I'll probably go back to it sometime this spring, when the weather warms back up. Welcome to the pixie club!

Mayra Guajardo: Right there with you on the maintenance, I’ve had to reschedule my trim twice now & it’s definitely longer than I want it to be

T T: Another pro: you dont need that much stuff. No hairstyles, bobby pins, serums for split end or shine, hairspray... when its really short like a pixie no conditioner. Magic

Sarah M: I cut my hair short yesterday so the timing of this video is a godsend. I still feel a bit overwhelmed with all of it gone, because like you said it’s almost like losing your identity. But seeing your confidence in this video inspires me! I think I’ll get to where you are!

Megan Petro: Girl things are gonna change so much once your hair is short short. I've been doing the buzz cut, short pixie thing form having long curls for a few years now. The difference between your length here to boy short is still a huge one, even though I know going from your long hair to now was a big deal. So excited to see the change EDIT: I didn't realize the haircut was in the same video

lynx: This hair looks AMAZING on you! Recently got a curly pixie myself‚ also have zero regrets. Would love to see an updated hair routine for yours

Alyssa Burns: Love pixie cuts on curly girls! I wasn't allowed to cut my hair until I was 18 so I went from tailbone length curls to shoulder. Liked shoulder for a year then went to faux hawk. Grew that out to mid back, cut to pixie. Grew that out with a-line then lob until it grew to midback again. Now I'm back up to my collarbone and loving it. I kept trying to grow my hair back to my tailbone length bc people remember me for that and I can't deal with the work of my hair when it gets to the middle of my back. I prefer to keep my length between chin and collarbone length these days.

Thea Alleyne: I had a pixie cut for a brief period of my life and it was awesome. (It was my rebel phase lol) the maintenance was so drastically different to my shoulder length curly hair routine and I felt like it made me look so edgy even while wearing full glam I've since grown my hair back and it's healthier than ever now. I guess I started to miss it and now I'm more patient and caring with it....I'm also not afraid to try anything and everything on it because I know I look bomb with short hair

Alejandra Figueroa: Penny, you look gorgeous!!! <333 I cut my hair just above my shoulders a few months ago and loved it. It was previously about halfway down my back. I've had it even longer before but it is more maintenance and I'm a low maintenance type of gal (with hair anyway). I want to cut it even shorter, maybe a bob? In the back of my mind I sometimes wonder, "BUT WHAT WILL THEY SAY/THINK?!" I am an anxious person AND my family is Christian (I no longer am), so they have certain beliefs regarding hair-length but I'm an adult now so...*shrugs* All this to say, you look GREAT--with that glow that comes from inside out :) I love your channel, thanks for being real <333

Joylyn Secunda: I had long hair like you and got a pixie cut the same week as you coincidentally! I've wanted it for a long time but was too scared until I decided just to go for it! I finally feel like my outer appearance matches how I feel inside!

Karina Naranjo: I cut my hair 2 year ago and OH MY GOSH ITS THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE! I’m NEVER going back! And also your hair looks amazing!!!

Felicia Bethea: Your hair is so cute on you, and I am glad you love it!!! I have had to get a pixie cut before, although I didn't love it, it was necessary at the time, and I agree it was soooo much easier to care for. About to get my hair cut to your first haircut length, because my long hair has become too much for me to handle. Not exactly happy about it, but again, a necessity.

Lisset Sanchez: Shoutout to the hairdresser that was honest and helped guide you towards someone who DID know what to do with your curls!

Jac C.: I had a pixie cut from when I was 21-23 ish years old. My hair went from my butt to pixie. I instantly loved it. Thought I’d never grow it back out until I was sick of the constant trims lol

Jessica St. Amand: You have been one step behind me with your shorter haircuts and I 100% agree with you with the short curly hair lifestyle, I'm loving my hair lately. Better then when it was long.

Ei: thank you so much! im planning on donating my hair and getting a pixie cut and since its really curly i had some questions, but you answered them! also, your personality is great.

karen lira: Don't know if you'll ever read this penny but I cut my own hair a couple of months ago due to a mental health crisis and due to the damage I caused had to get it cut professionally into a pixie. I was SO devastated because I've always been afraid of looking too masculine and ever since my confidence has been very low because I feel I don't look good enough. But with your recent videos about getting your curly hair cut (that is a similar texture to mine) and more specifically this video which is basically the same pixie cut I received, you've basically reassured me that my hair is beautiful no matter what style I have it in and I feel much more confident to go out into the world and rock my curls the way they are now! Thank you sooo much you have no idea how much your videos mean to me and have meant to me for the past 6 years I've been subscribed!! I have so much love for you ♥ ❤

Byonca Owens: Making me want to go short again sooner than I planned! I’ve been planning to do it sometime in the spring or summer. ☀️

여름Yeoreum: I love this video. I have had both short and curly hair and I love them both. This video is amazing. Thank you penny for talking about this. I love your videos and your hair looks ✨AMAZING✨.

Island Gurl: I’m loving the even shorter cut on you. I had shoulder length hair that I cut to an A line bob with an undercut. And 3 weeks later went and chopped it off into a a pixie with an undercut. I love it cause I’m not hiding my face behind my hair anymore it’s so freeing for me and less maintenance

Myani Cabán: I've been watching your videos for years now and I just absolutely love your growth as a person!! When I had started my curly hair journey I would watch your videos bc we share similar hair textures. I have been goin back n forth btw long and short curly hair for a while now. And I just love this video bc I can relate so much to what your saying! Thank youu for sharing and I lovvvvvve the new cut!!❤❤❤

Shelby Hendren: I do know another con. After having had a pixie cut for over 7 years….you will become tender headed if you try to grow it long again. I’m in the process and every knot feels like my scalp is on fire. Stay beautiful out there ladies.

Jihane Agbogbodo: I love this new look on you Penny ! It makes your facial features glow even more!

Katherine Asuncion: I absolutely LOVE your pixie cut! I think it suits your face shape more than your previous cut. But you look stunning anyway your hair is, cuz you're a queen! Thanks for showing us a tip on how to find good stylists. You inspired me to cut my hair and I was nervous about cutting it because I've never had a good cutting experience. Abrazotes!

Deborah333: Loved, loved this video! Thanks for sharing cause I am looking to cut my hair shorter but it’s because I am on a journey to grow out my natural silvers I am a curly girl and I’m terrified of going short, but you are certainly an inspiration,... THANK YOU!

faivkangurxn: IMMA DO IITTT!!! IT'S DECIDED. All these years with long heair I've felt exactly like you described it, now I feel I only have it long because people like it and 'praise' it. But I don't enjoy it anymore, I feel it's not part of who I want to become and i am becoming and me changing. and every time I've thought of cutting it and I don't, I feel down 'cause it's like I'm just holding back my growth with fear. I just love watching this sparkle on you, It's so heartwarming on all these years I've watched u. U rock that haircut penny!<3

Kayla Duncan: Ahhhh I almost love the pixie cut more than the last style !! You’re so beautiful radiating confidence

Y Conde: It looks sooooo freaking good! I've always wanted a pixie cut. The only thing that's stopping me is my parents. I know they'd be sad, but one day I'll just do it and forget about it.

sinai espinosa: Your hair looks gorgeous I remember when my hair was that short I have 3a-3b curls and I would wake up with my hair reaching for the sky love you penny!!!

Maria Delise: You look absolutely fabulous! Also I totally agree with what you said about long hair, years ago I was obsessed with having super long hair because I thought it was the only valuable thing I had... fast forward to now, I recently went for a pixie and have zero regrets about it :D

Marisa Hueso: Bruh, I shaved my head last year and gotta say, best decision ever! I did grow out my hair after though so I got to have all the short curly hair styles after XD So excited to see all the things you'll be doing with your short hair

Lidsp: Love love love your haircut! And you’re right it’s such easy maintenance! Except when your in the grow out stage and then you have to actually style it.

thirtyonepigeons: HOLYYYYYY CRAP GIRLLLLLL Your hair looks absolutely beautiful and suits you so well! Literally smiled so hard when you did the hair reveal; it seriously looks so sooooo good on you oh my goshhh!!

Bri: This shorter haircut is YESSSSS on you girl! I’m only sad that you feel like you have to defend cutting your hair. You look radiant.

Ask Coach K: Another pro: your curls look super bouncy and luxurious! I love your hair short.. whatever you decide, it's so cool to see you so happy and loving it! You look beautiful

Nisa ms Kreuzer: Always love what you do Penny. Thanks for being there btw hair is adorable

Sunny: Over quarantine I realized I had curls, especially when I started dying my hair, and it’s been such a struggle trying to figure out how to style my curls and how to define them so I’m at the point where I’m like “just cut it all off” and after seeing this video I might

Steph Perez: Your hair looks SO good!! I’m getting a haircut tomorrow!! I let my wolf cut grow o and it’s about time I cut it. I want to let my curls shine and let them be free rather than avoiding them. Btw you’re haircut is my inspo pic!!

Spectral_Boi: omg girl you look STUNNINGGG! welcome to the short curly hair gang I cant wait to see what styles you do with the new length

Mary Ann Echano: I went short recently too and I feel so much more liberated! The new cut looks gorgeous on you!!

msgio: I absolutely love your curly pixie cut! It's super cute. It makes me want to go back to my curly pixie!

Jouline Suarez: I cut my hair too after you did!! I just dyed it blonde last week too, when it's naturally dark brown/black... and its been a whole process because I did it myself, but I look like a completely new person and I love it
