In this video, I am going to give you the easiest, most simple explanation of the gel cast and I'm going to show you exactly how you can use it to get frizz free, defined curls. This method is good for people who follow the curly girl method and for people who just had naturally curly hair, and they want a new technique for styling. Their hair stay tuned, hi, guys curly Suzy here and, as I mentioned in today's video, we are gon na. Do a little quick tutorial about creating a gel cast so for some of you watching this video you're thinking what the heck is a gel cast and then for a lot of you. Maybe you've been trying the gel cast or you've seen people talking about the gel cast on message boards and you just don't know where to start or what to do to create that kind of a style. So what is the gel cast? It'S pretty much self-explanatory. Basically, you're gon na put gel onto your soaking-wet hair and the gel and the water is going to coat your curls or your clumps of curls and then, as your hair dries. The gel is also gon na dry and it's gon na form like a crystallized layer. Around each curl now what is this gon na? Do it's gon na keep your hair defined as it's drying, and it's also going to eliminate frizz and, yes, I said gel, I didn't say anything else. I do know that a lot of you out there like to add other products to this technique, so some people like to add a hair cream before the gel or leave-in conditioner and then a hair cream and then the gel. But you guys know that I like to keep things as simple and inexpensive as possible, and I like to use only one or two products. So today, I'm gon na prove to you that you can just use gel and I'm gon na show you the technique using gel once you learn this technique. If you would like to experiment with some leaving conditioner or some hair creams or hair oils or something different, you can add that to your routine, but for today we're gon na keep it super duper simple, okay, guys! So I'm in the shower of my hair. It'S so and I'm going to start to apply my gel. This is how much gel I use I'm going to start on one side and I'm just gon na use the praying hands technique and just smooth the gel carefully over my hair and then I'm going to repeat I'm going to use the same amount of gel. A second time, and then I'm gon na rub between my hands again, I'm gon na start to smooth from the opposite side of my hair in towards the center again and then see their self and jela from my hands. I'M gon na work that up into the roofs without raking my fingers completely through my hair, I'm gon na smooth from over the back of my head as well and then start scrunching. So I'm trying to scrunch my hair, nice and tight. So I'm mixing the water and the gel together and evenly distributing the mixture through all my hair, and you can see my curls are already starting to fall. Once I'm finished scrunching, I'm gon na grab a t-shirt. My husband's favorite features anyway. I'M gon na tip my head upside down onto this t-shirt, which is called flopping and then I'm gon na tie it I'm gon na leave it like that for about ten minutes. Okay guys so I just removed the t-shirt from my head and that absorbed a lot of the water and a little bit of the gel. So that's another reason I use a lot of gel is because I do wrap my hair in a t-shirt for about ten minutes. While I get dressed to put makeup on which I obviously didn't do and that way there's not gel and water, like dripping all over. My clothes, but so that's another reason I use a lot of gel like I said, because the t-shirt absorbs some of it and right now is the point that you can decide whether you want to just let your hair air-dry or you want to diffuse. So if your dye fusing, you want to die, fuse gently and you want to just lay your hair in the diffuser like look at my hair. Dryer lay your hair in the diffuser and defuse on like a low setting until your hair is completely dry and when it's dry, it's gon na be very crunchy and crusty. But that's what you want so guys. I'M back my hair is a hundred percent dry, and here is my gel cast I'll, get a little bit closer to the camera here, and so yes, my hair is hard and crunchy, and that is a good thing right now, whether you did this on purpose, which I did today - or you did it by accident, and this happens to me a lot I just put too much gel in and then my hair becomes crusty, there's just a couple of quick steps that you can do to get rid of the cast and reveal beautiful Frizz-Free curls, okay, so, like I always mention my in my videos, I try to do things as like as simple as possible and use as few products as possible. So many people when they scrunch out the crunch. They use a few different tools or different things. To release the cast like they'll, use a t-shirt to scrunch out the crunch, just a regular cotton t-shirt to scrunch out the gel, or they will use a microfiber towel. Some people like to put some oil on the palms of their hands or use like a leaving. Conditioner on the palms of their hands or use like the diva, curl or sorry, the set of free spray that diva curl makes. But I'm telling you you don't need to use any of that. I do like to put a little bit of conditioner on my hands. Sometimes like a little bit of a leave-in, but you can just use your bare hands and I discovered this because when I create a cast normally it's by accident, so I go to work with my hair wet and then it dries and it's crusty and I have To scrunch out the crunch, I'm gon na keep scrunching. It takes quite a bit of scrunching. I'M not gon na lie. I'M gon na keep scrunching, so you can already start to tell it's getting a bit softer now, because my hair is in pretty good shape. I find I can actually do some of this, but for some of you, that's gon na create more frizz, so the best thing to do was to use trial and error, I'm just getting rid of that gel cast and then once you have the gel out of The bulk of your hair, I like to shake out my roots and that's going to create a little bit of volume, so I'm gon na take my hands and I'm gon na put them in into my scalp and I'm gon na shake out the roots. Now I'm not raking my fingers through my hair, I'm just placing them in shaking and pulling them straight back out. I hope you like this video. I hope it was helpful. I'M gon na leave you today with a little clip of some pictures that some girls sent me on the curly girl method, support group on Facebook showing there before afters with and without the cast, and I hope that this motivates you to try it yourself. You can give this video a big thumbs up if you liked it and a big thumbs down. If you didn't like it subscribe to my channel and I'll see you in my next video bye, you

Edith Larsen: Well in still on my way and you have really helped me THANK YOU. I don't think I've been using enough jell my hair is short and very thin so didn't think I needed much. Love your vedios keep them coming.

croissant: In my family with 3 women, I am the only curly haired girl. I've never been taught how to treat curly hair, and I would comb it out and have it looking frizzy. The only solution I knew of was to put it in a bun. My sister's always made fun of my hair, and I felt ugly because my hair never looked like theirs. I found your video last week. The first time I tried casting I cried at how gorgeous my hair looked. My sister's kept wanting to touch my hair. I never felt so pretty. Thank you!

Leyla Rustamova: Little tip: use a wide tooth comb or a denman brush after applying the gel and before scrunching. Your curls will be the most perfect, smooth ribbon-y ringlets)

Heather Denboer: I appreciate that you keep it simple. I have been getting overwhelmed with the amount of products some people use.

Christabella Angel: You are the only person who doesn’t over-complicate the CGM. THANK YOU!

Stevie Fairbairn: I just turned 18 and have only started loving and figuring out my curls (after straightening everyday for about 10 years) I can’t wait to jump in the shower and try this even bought special gel I hope I get a similar outcome! Gorgeous.

Reba B: You’re SUPER brave to film that in a towel!! This is exactly how my sister does her curls, and they’re perfect!! People always balk when she says she only uses cheap LA Looks gel, but it definitely works!

Katelyn Jacobi: I just started the curly girl method so I'm still kind of in the bad hair phase. But those pictures at the end made me so happy because a lot of them have hair like mine! Hopefully I can get my hair to look that good too.

Tammy W.: I am 5 days Into the curly girl routine and I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten on my hair!! I am 50 and have never had frizz free hair until now!! Thank you for your videos... ❤

DementedDoll: Love the simplicity of your methods and explanations. I had straightened (mohawked) hair for many years and decided to go curly again. I used to hate that constant accidental gel cast as a teenager, but now I see the point! Slowly getting a collection of cgm friendly products (hard to find in Atlantic Canada!). Thanks for making it all a bit easier.

Linda Bell: I have a combination of type 2bc wavy hair. I’m with you on keeping it inexpensive & simple. I’m trying this gel cast technique today. Thank you! I enjoy all your videos. I especially liked you sharing the pics at the end of this video, feels more like a community that way!

C Land: Finally, someone that thinks like me, not too many products and cheaper is better! I almost ordered some **** Curl products but just can't see spending that much on my God given curls. Your hair type is also very similar to mine. I'll be picking up some gel tomorrow, thanks!

Amanda: Is it just me or is breaking the cast each day so satisfying?!? I just love how it looks afterwards. So annoying waiting for it to be 100% air dried tho. Xx

Kathy Petrullo: Great video Susie I loved it! This is like watching myself in the shower LOL I've been using the LA looks gel a lot lately because I live in New York City and it's super humid here and this stuff really blocks humidity like a boss! I used to be terrified of gel but I came to realize that I needed to use at least double to Triple the amount I thought I should be using to get good results! I really love that you keep it simple, I watch other curly haired YouTubers and the one thing that turns me off is using too many products and spending massive amounts of money on a routine. I do enjoy watching people review all different sorts of products but with certain YouTubers if they are always reviewing more and more and more products week after week and they love nearly everything they try it makes me not as interested anymore. Simplicity is key, I like to know that wherever I go in this world I can take the techniques with me and look for inexpensive products to get good results. Love your videos! I was shocked to see you using something different than your beloved biotera LOL

MandyR8: Yay! I’ve been doing the gel casting and it’s helped so much! But there’s been a few times where I had no idea how to break the stiffness of using a little too much and your video totally helped!! Thank you from a wavy haired newbie

Irai Rod: Oh, those pictures of the before and after cast were so useful and reassuring! I'm only about 10 days into trying the CG method, and I've realized that I need to be WAY more generous with the gel. I have barely-there waves and I've been afraid I'll end up with "plastic" looking hair if I use more. Next wash---golf balls of gel are going into my tresses. Thank you!

Brenda Gomez: I love how you put in the pictures of others trying the method! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making these videos!(:

Rachael Donna: Thank you!! I've just started the CG method and your videos have really helped! There is so much information and I love that you go straight to the point with minimum product. Again, thank you!!!

RussiaPrussia: I’m so happy I found your channel!! You make things so simple (and much cheaper), you’ve made my curly girl journey a lot easier so thank you!!!!

T MG: I’m glad that you made this video. When I was younger and kept my hair curly, this is exactly what I used to do. I have very thick hair and found this was the best way to keep the curls frizz free and well defined. As I got older and curly hair became “a thing” and MOISTURE became the focus, I became so frustrated with my hair because it would get too big or less defined or frizzy when dry if I didn’t use the right stuff-and just decided to stick to straight hair. You reminded me how simple and effective this method could be and it just goes to show that jumping on the band wagon doesn’t work for everyone. ❤️

Becca Schlomann: I just found you and I'm loving your videos. I actually didn't think that was a ridiculous amount of gel I guess I use a lot. I do really appreciate you keeping it simple and cheap. I recently got back into watching hair videos and checking out product reviews thinking I was missing some amazing product or step and all that's happened is I've tried a bunch of things, made my routine more complicated, wasted money, and now have gels and products I'm trying to use up that I don't love and all that to learn that what I was using (and my simple routine) was best!

Frizzy 19: Thank you do much for your simple and cost effective curly hair method. I've only been doing the curly girl method for a month. But I've watched /read so many tutorials and blogs it's quite overwhelming . But Your channel is one that I always come back to :) Your curls are fabulous!!

Hattie Crockett: Just found this page and I’m loving it. While we are on lockdown I thought I would give it a go so if I’m a blonde bush head for a few weeks then no one will see ! Love your tips, thank you

Charliy: Thank you so much for this video, my hair has always been very long and very straight, in the last year or so it has transitioned into wavy hair, it's roughly 16-18 inches so quite heavy which pulls out some of my curls, I'm going to try a gel cast as having wavy/curly hair has definitely been an experience but I'm hoping to embrace it x

Lauren Mirabal: Thank you so much for your videos, Susie!! I discovered that my hair was much curlier now that I’ve switched over to no brushing and using only the cool method of the diffuser! Wow my hair is so healthy now with so many ringlets and volume...and it’s all thanks to you!!

kylie gabay: I really like how you keep everything simple!! I don't think I could dedicate a lot of time for my hair with all the complicated stuff in other methods. Thank you! I want to try this one now~ <3

Leslie Anderson: Okay this was great! I watched this last night and I did the cast this morning before I went out and it was wonderful!!! So simple and it works!

Amanda barkhouse: Thank you for the gel cast! My hair is long now from covid. My hair is curly after menopause and yours is the only technique that works! Thanks again

Frances Morawski: Followed this last night with no expectations it would work for my frizzy wavy hair. I was hella surprised it worked! Plus the bounce and fullness I got from my curls. Can't wait to see the progression over the next little while

xuephyre: I began my "cgm" journey few months ago during quarantine lol and I notice my hair is a lot more wavier and curly that I realized! I got a leave in conditioner by cantu (it's definitely lessen the frizz, still have some though) and I have a curling cream. However I don't have a gel because I don't like gel but I willing to give it a try

Tara Tienhaara: Your hair is beautiful! Thanks for the video! I have been hearing a lot about this method and I’m considering trying it for my super kinky curly hair. I’ve fought for years with my curls and want to embrace them.

Natilly: This is the first video I've watched where it is kept so simple! Thank you for that! So many other routines I've watched are super hard to follow and I am trying the gel cast for the first time.

Desiree Duque Broady: I've always loved how my curly hair looked after having a gel cast but it always happens by accident, I've never been able to do it on purpose. Well, now I know I haven't been using enough gel! Thanks so much for this video. :)

Kathryn Coleman: One of the best presentations of how to create the perfect curls in an easy to follow tutorial! I also love that Curly Susie does not use her platform to hawk products.

Bronwyn Floyd: I love your videos!!! I adore how you keep it simple and affordable! I had a friend talk to me about the curly method a while back. Was a little overwhelmed by it all. Found your videos 2 days ago, starting today!!

KatsPurr: I've been using a similar method pretty much from the mid 80's on. It's almost the same, but with the following changes which make things a bit easier and faster: 1) After washing hair I wrap my head in a towel for a couple of minutes to remove the majority of the water. The hair should be pretty wet, but definitely not dripping wet. 2) Apply the gel, I just scrunch it in 3) Bend over so head is downwards and hair is hanging down whilst blowdrying hair on a medium temperature but low speed to avoid frizz. 4) WHILE blowdrying, squeeze bits of hair between hands so that you don't end up with a hard gel shell. The reason you wouldn't want a hard gel shell is because some gels will start to flake away once "broken" and the last thing you want is to look like you have dandruff! But if you are already softening up the gel into the curls whilst blowdrying, you never get that problem.

sunfyrewoman: Hi Susie! 10 year ago I had THE best hair day of my life , I looked like a Mermaid and ive never been able to replicate it. watching this video I realized i got the Mermaid hair from an accidental conditioning mousse cast! I just discovered the CGM and now I feel like I might be able to have the vast hair day EVERY day. EXCITE! please keep making super easy abd basic videos for us CGM Newbies!

María Ignacia: Loved it! A little tip, when you diffuse, it's better to start from your roots and going down slowly or not diffuse your end at all. That way you'll get softer ends and prevent split ends from the heat damage when diffusing directly your ends! When you start by your ends first they will get all the heat first and that will only cause split ends and dryness. If you like doing this anyway, you should at least put a oil on your ends or some protective/sealant to keep them soft :) Hope that helps. Thanks for the video!

V S: Thanks for sharing all this! I always look for easy and simple tips.

Tish C.: Omg.... I'm so glad you made this video cause seriously some of the curly girls use soooo many products and it's truly overwhelming trying to figure it all out... I love your videos!!! Thanks Much ❤️ Also I've totally not been using enough gel to get that awesome cast an after I tried your method IT WORKED SO WELL!!! Love how simple an easy it was!!!

Linden Proud: Thank you for this simple method. I've been getting confused about different ways to do it but this video is brilliant! Thank you so much.

Andrea Sanford: I love your simple yet effective way of getting beautiful curls. I just started the curly girl method, and I think I need way more gel but was afraid to do that because I dont like the limp wet crunchy looking curls. Thank you for your videos, great for a busy mom, simple and wash and go.

Kayla Hebert: I can't wait to give this a try! Any suggestions on a good gel to use?! I typically stick to curl creams, but this turned out SO beautifully! You are absolutely lovely!

Mindy Noxon Iannotti: This is hands-down the best video explanation I’ve found and I’ve been binge watching the CG method videos this week as I’m starting my own journey. Thank you so much!

Crystal Hampton: Wow! This is great. So overwhelming trying to dig through videos of what products to use starting out. Completely overwhelming. This video makes me feel like it can be simple. Thank you so much. ❤️

Cyra Williams: Brand new to CGM and your videos are so helpful and simple! Thank you! ❤️

Sebastian: I love Gel so much lol, It's my absolute favorite styling product. Another thing to note about gel is that if you want your hair to have longer hold, you can just leave the cast in and let it break naturally throughout the day. This would be really good if you live in a humid climate too

Alexandra Toole: OMG this really was a GAME CHANGER! I tried it and my hair looks incredible

Janette Jack: I started using gel after this video. My curls and waves are now perfect and absolutely NO FRIZZ !!! I would just like to say a big thank you

impauliesgirl: Thank you, Susie! I’ve just watched and realize I haven’t been using enough gel in my hair. Next wash day, I’m going to try your easy to follow method. I only wash once a week but I’m so excited to try this. How often do you wash and do you think adding in an extra wash day just for “fun” (trial and error error) is okay?

Isabelle Funk: I am so glad I found your channel. My hair is exactly like your in length, texture, how curly it is and in color so this is so helpful for me. I’ve been wanting to try the curly girl method but not wanting to spend a lot of money or time (got 4 kids!) so this is awesome! Question, do you ever wash your hair the night before and leave in the cast all night so it’s ready to go in the morning?

Bernie안녕: Yaaaas!!Can’t wait to try this!i’m a newbie in CG routines and yours is simple and affordable!love this!

Italia Pati: I love that you keep it so simple as there is so much to take in that it can get overwhelming for beginners

Olive: this video and your channel in general is such a lifesaver for us trying to care for curly hair on a budget!! thank you for the fabulous advice and positivity <3

Sara Anderson: This is so helpful! I've never heard of casting as a first step. Love the look.

Areli Garcia: I’m going to try this. I hope it works on thick straight/wavy hair. I do t want to cut my long hair but it’s ALWAYS in a bun bc it’s a quick and simple hairstyle before work. But I really need to embrace my hair, thank you for making this as easy and minimal as possible. I’m going to have to try it out!

Grace Wikander: Thank you so much! Your videos are awesome! ACTUALLY realistic methods. You're my curly girl hero ♡

Just here for the_ Comments: I like that you keep it simple as I’m using the techniques for my 3 year old daughters hair, and she would not sit for all the faff, it’s hard enough to get her to let me scrunch her hair

Linda Mulder: Thank you so SO MUCH! I just went out, bought gel and tried this. My hair looks so much better already! Never would I have thought that I'd be using gel in my hair haha

Elle RJ: You just showed me the secret I needed! I've always known I've had curly hair, but it wasn't until this past year I finally starting learning how to actually care for it. I know my hair has spirals in it, but it's extremely hard to get them to show up. Well, I just did the gel cast (with a cream) and now I have spirals all over my head! I didn't know my hair could be this curly! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Rose Davis: Just watched so many of your videos :) Thank you so much for making it so simple and easy to understand!! I've just started my journey and was so overwhelmed with all the products I'd have to buy it put me off but you've changed that :) thank you for New Zealand!

Austen Midland: So helpful! My hair has a nice curl/wave to it when it's wet, then dries pretty straight with lots of volume. Used a scrunching gel today and my hair kept it's shape finally

Sherry B: Took a little trial and error to work out the amount for my hair, especially as it grew longer. I go to work with my super curly hair wet and usually can scrunch it out shortly after getting there. DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel works great but is expensive. I might give that LA Looks a try when I run out. Your before and afters are awesome!

MARYALISAM: Thank you so much for keeping it so simple! Im still new with the method and still kinda confused about everything, this video was very helpful!

reailia: Thank you!! I know this is an older video of yours but I’ve only been doing curly girl methods for 2 weeks and haven’t been able to get a cast yet! I’ve definitely been overwhelmed with it since I’m ending with a lot of frizz (I know it doesn’t happen over night). It must be the fact that I’m putting in a leave in and curl enhancing cream before the gel !

Kailliene Simonsen: Those curls! And, your skin is so clear and bright! You are some serious inspiration.

Serena Schaeber: Thank you SO MUCH! I've been using gel with mixed results for some time and can't wait to use your methods!

J Miller: I have this exact same LA gel!! I'm going to totally try this on my curls

Nicola Lattimore: Yay!! So grateful for this video! Thank you, this is helping “ this newbie” to curly girl method so much!

MsSummer225: I know you made this video a while ago but I JUST started the CG method a week ago. I LOVE your videos! I watch them over and over!

Dayana Garcia: Omg this is how I used to do my hair when I was natural and my hair had the same curl as you do. I used sometimes do mousse with hairspray while wet IF you don’t have gel handy and it does the same effect. I used to blow dry a little and then it would air dry at work as well lol. Every technique you did I used to do ❤️❤️❤️. I’m about to start letting my hair go natural again after 10 years of straightening and using keratin treatment. I hope the transition goes easy

P: This is what I started off doing with my curly journey but after i tried a curly cream and then gel i realized my curls could be so much softer and bouncy!

Malta: Moving On, Up and Away: This is probably super specific but I struggle with getting my hair to part right if I don’t comb it. It doesn’t seem to have a natural part and just sits on top if I don’t comb over to the side. If you have any tips on that, would be amazing! I am loving your videos, getting me back to loving my curly hair.

Sofia S: I love you Curly Suzie. Thank you so much for your tips. You're helping this overwhelmed newbie.

Zay: I got out of the shower after doing CGM for the first time and got overwhelmed, forgetting how to do the gel part! Pulled this up and it was a lifesaver, thank you

l ll: Its 2 am and I have pin straight hair but this was so interesting to watch. Love your curls so much ✨

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: Thanks for keeping it real. Great job Susie! Love the before and afters at the end. Jen

Linda Marín: Hey Susie! I stumbled upon your channel by accident and your absolutely beautiful hair and your incredible tips have been helping me to take better care of my wavy- curlyish hair. Thank you so much for the help!

Cherie Lee: Thank you so much! I think a lot of people think this past it's obvious so they never explain it. I'm a super behind so I really appreciate the simple and straightforward explanation and not using too many products.

Nikita Sunday: This is my first successful gel cast!! THANK YOU CURLY SUSIE!!

Bean: Wow, hair looks great! I love that you keep it simple, that's so me allll the way! Thanks for this tip!

PICCOLAsogna: I use this technique to air dry my hair (most of the time; sometimes I diffuse and it adds more volume), but often when I scrunch the crunch my hair reveal the frizz, also if they are perfectly dry :( they tend to be ruffled too. That's related to the humidity, I know...but I wonder if you have any advice for me! Thank you, I really like your tips and I found them useful!

Florida Quilter: I am a new girly girl. Over about a month I went from straight to wavy. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos. You are good at this stuff. What does co-wash mean? Also, do you wash your hair before the cast?

Fab J: I also use a metal pick to fluff up the roots (just on the roots) :) Looks great Suzie!

Bespolez: Hello! Just started doing the curly girl method, and your videos are a great help. My biggest concern is how long my hair takes to dry. The first time I did it, even with 'plopping' my hair for a bit, my hair took literally probably 6 hours to dry (I have a lot lol). Do you have any tips for dealing with that and ALSO I've been using Eco Style Olive Oil Gel. Do you think that product will give me the 'gel cast' I need?

Kmmc2011: Thank you for this video! I tried using more gel than I've ever tried before and it really made a difference. It isn't scrunchy (maybe because I either used the Eco Styler gel or maybe cause I slept in it overnight) but the curls have "clumped" far better than they ever have before.. I'll try using even more the next time but have ordered Biotera. My 2c/3a curls are mostly 3a now! Please do include your Amazon US link for Biotera cause I would have loved to support you for future purchases :)

Jedstar423: Thank you for sharing I've been "making a cast " since I was 13, first leaning how to style my curly hair ( mainly 3a curly girls ). Back then I just left the crunch because I jst didn't know better. I love that you use one product and kept it real worth the amount of gel you use. It reminds me I don't need to spend a ton and keeps me in check. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It doesn't have to be complicated, you don't have to literally but into the hype to get your natural beautiful curls to work for you. Trail & error couldn't be more true do what works for you share & support each othe! Thanks again doll

Stephanie Weeks: LA Looks Gel is so bomb! You just can’t beat that price, and the smell is like...nonexistent! Doesn’t smell like a teenage boy or anything! I struggle not to scrunch out the crunch before it’s entirely dry... I know I shouldn’t scrunch it before it’s dry but I can’t stand that wet look, and my hair takes forever to dry!

variant: Thank you for uploading videos! Today I bought the Biotera Gel from Sally B because of you and am excited to try it tomorrow morning. I do have a couple of questions: 1) do you use heat when diffusing? Regardless, which power setting (how much pressure/flow) do you use? 2) If you air dry, do you go to work without diffusing at all? 3) It gets super cold here in Edmonton although summer is lovely right now. Being new to CGM, I'm worried about air drying in the winter. What do you do? Only diffuse? Cover up your air when you're outside if it's not dry yet?

K Ham: I think you did an excellent job explaining this subject. Simple is great, especially on vacation ,when we are unable to pack an arsenal of products.

Bonnie Abadi: Amazing. This is the only technique that has truly worked for me. Thank you

Carol Sferra: Beautiful!!! Can't wait to try it!!

Gaby Diaz: No one ever taught me how to care for my curly hair.. I only used gel maybe twice in my life and hated it because it made my hair so crunchy! I always rake my fingers through! ‍♀️ This is AWESOME! Thank you! 34yrs old and I'm going to start using the curly girl method with gel! Very excited!

MenaTheia: I've been wanting to try "scrunch out the crunch" for a bit now (so far I've just been using a curl creme) and this was so helpful! Such a nice and simpel, yet informative guide! ^__^

Kimiko: Hi CS- thanks for the great videos! Question for you? Doesn't the LA looks gel have a high alcohol content that the curly girl method speaks against? Let me know your thoughts, and thanks!

gracie isn't rad: Hi! I have SUPER damaged hair, both from dyes and heat, but I could tell I had some waves and curls trying peek out, so I googled like crazy to figure out how to enhance them. I’ve been straightening my hair almost every day for about 5 years, so I had no idea what my natural texture really looks like. I found your channel for the first time a few days ago and decided to try out your tips. Today, I wore my hair natural for the first time in years, and it was curlier than I’ve ever seen it! I’m SO excited to continue and try out new products and see what exactly works for me. Thank you for making such helpful videos!

etherealone: Great video. I like the simplicity. I'm 46 and back in the day we didn't know it was called a gel cast. We also really liked that horrible wet crispy look too. Lol. This look is much nicer. Thanks!!!

pissoffpostie: Thank you so much for all your tips, they are really helping me out

Moriah Mahan: I loved the before and after pictures at the end! Such a good idea

ShellaRuns: Hi Susie! I'm new to your channel. You are a wonderful host! This video was very helpful. I live in South FL and a gel-cast is an absolute necessity, but sometimes with all of the extra humidity in the air, it's quite difficult to achieve. Total non-hair question here... do you recall where you purchased your blue, off the shoulder top? It's gorgeous!
