How To Attach Dread Extensions To Short Hair

In this video I will show you how to attach a dread extension to short hair.

You will need 4 things to complete this task:

1) Hair length between 3-6+ Inches.

2) A Crochet Hook

3) Deadlock extension/s

4) Hair comb

Start with sectioning your hair, once you are happy you can proceed to twist, rip and backcomb the first section, using your crochet hook with the hook pointing toward you, go in and start to knot the hairs together. Continue this down the dread until the shape and form is to your liking. Grab your extension and start to pull the crochet hook through your extension, knotting and tying them together. Continue down the until you reach your desired outcome.

I hope this helps :)

Hello, it's jack and i'm going to show you how to put a dreadlock extension into short hair in less than five minutes. So, let's get to it first of all, you're going to need your dreadlock extension you're, going to need a comb and a crochet hook now, depending on the size of your dreadlock and the size that you want it. Your crochet hook is going to vary, i'm using a 0.75 millimeter crochet hook there you go um, and these are just some dreadlocks that i made earlier uh put one in my hair already, as you can see, and yeah, let's get started so first things you want. You'Re going to want to section your hair, i'm just going to do it in this little front bit that much. I think so, once you've got your section you're happy with it, you can stop. So i always just start by twisting it so twist twist twist and just pull it back with your fingers like that and keep twisting it keep pulling it back and then take your brush. Take the short climby bit and then just kind of back comb keep back combing and twist twist twist back comb twist. First twist rub it back with your fingers, pull it back with your fingers. Okay! Back with the brush with the comb back comb back comb back home and then once you get a bit that stands out, you can take her your crochet hook and then take it on the little toothy side going facing you uh and then goes to the root To take it in and then you want to push it right through and grab a bit and then pull it round and twist it round like that, so it keeps kind of going in pulling a new bit through and then keep twisting it round push it back. In and then spin it around and pull it out like that, so you get your first knot repeat that process going down going down the hair until you get the desired effect of the georgia red i like smaller dreads personally um, but it's each to their own Preference yeah so once you have a fairly stable basic dread like that, you can go in with your extension and take it on whatever size you want. I hold it up about halfway each um to the dread and then go back in with the pointy side facing you put it through both and just pull those through and merge them together and repeat that process. As you go down, the dread doesn't matter about it. Being too neat at this point, because you'll go back in and tidy and tighten everything up after just keep going down the dread down the track, keep going down, keep going down and what you want to do is mat. The dreadlocks in together keep matting them in. As you can see, they're kind of starting to go together keep pulling them through, keep pulling them twisting them pulling them twisting them, and then, at the top bit to get these ones just kind of pull it through cut it through twisting it and pulling it through. Twisting it and pulling it through, twisting it and pulling it through and as you can see, it starts to form and not together. You keep going down and repeating that process and then keep tightening at the top, keep pulling it in keep pulling it in until it becomes stable and give it a quick roll. And then there you have it. Your dread is now attached and you're ready to roll, and you just repeat that process going down from one section to the next um i'd, advise that you do your sectioning before you put them in, because you don't want it to end up a wonky um, but Yeah, this was just for a video and i want to show they're quite tight and they're. Definitely on there they're not coming out unless you take them out. Um
