Hey everybody, it's charmelle welcome or welcome back to lox luxe lifestyle. Welcome back to another video. So today i am here with my third and fourth lock extensions update video. So, let's get into it so per usual. I will start with a quick recap if you are new here, so i started my locs on september 8. 2020. I started with two strand twists. I started with colored hair and i have maintained my locs myself this entire journey. After about a year and a half with my traditional locks, i decided to extend my locks via lock, extensions on march 11, 2022 and so yeah. I'Ve had them installed now going on. Four months i installed these lock extensions myself as well. I purchased my lock extensions on etsy. The seller was african locks. I will have the information linked down in the description box. If you are interested but yeah, that's all i can really think of for the recap off the top of my head. However, i have documented this entire journey from me, starting my starter locks from 2020 all the way up until my lock extensions in 2022. I have documented the whole process here on youtube. So if you are a little more interested in my journey, i will have my log journey playlist as well as my loc extension journey playlist listed down in the description box for you to go check out. But yes, that's a quick recap on my locs and my lock journey so far i have been loving my loc extensions and so now, like i said we are up to month four and it's time for an update. So honestly, i did not have many updates for month three, which is why i did not do a video about it, but before we get into the details and the updates for month, four, i do want to start using these block extension update videos also kind of Like as a q, a just because my lock extension install video, i still get a lot of questions. New questions, new comments on that video. I try to respond and answer the questions, but going forward if there are any recurring questions that i see on any of my live videos, i'm going to try to use my updates to answer those questions. So the main question that i have been getting a lot lately on my lock extension install video is: are these lock extensions permanent or can you remove them and the answer is yes, so they can be permanent or you can remove them so lock. Extensions are definitely more of a long-term permanent install it's not something that you install to wear for like a month and then take out yes, you can do that. However, it is an extensive process and i personally would not spend time installing these just to take them out in a month. So, yes, these are more so of a permanent method or long-term method. However, if you don't want them anymore, you absolutely can remove them. So, in my case, i installed these more so of long-term wear. I don't think i'll keep these forever. Ideally, once my natural locks reach a length that i'm comfortable with, i will more than likely remove my lock extensions. Another question is: how do you remove them? If i'm being honest, i haven't watched too many videos on how to remove them. However, based on how i installed them, what i would do when or what i will do when i decide to remove my lock extensions, because i installed these - i know like where my natural locks in the lock extensions me. So, ideally, i would just cut right below, like that attachment point of my natural locks in the lock extensions, and then i will just comb out the rest of the lock extension that's connected to my natural lock and that's it so, yes, lock extensions can be permanent, But if you don't want to wear them forever, you can absolutely remove them without having to cut off all of your locks. So, yes, that was like the main question. I'Ve been getting a lot um on some of my lock extension videos, so i definitely wanted to answer that verbally, but now on to these month, four updates. So the first thing i want to update you guys on is, if you watch my recent vlog, i did do a bleach bath on my locs, so i don't know if you guys can tell in that vlog. I will link it up here, but in that vlog i go into full details about it. I didn't do it as a tutorial, because i was definitely winging it and i just didn't want to do it like as a dedicated tutorial just in case things went wrong and all of that stuff, but i did do a bleach bath on my locs, mainly because I just wanted my locs to have a little more color, be a little more vibrant. As you guys can see. The color scheme is still the same, but i just wanted my brownness to be a little more brown and the l'oreal high color box dye that i used on my hair before it was just not giving me that richness and that vibrancy that i had wanted. So i did do a bleach bath um, because you know it's a little stronger. I don't plan on doing them like anymore yeah. I pretty much got the desired color that i was looking for. So yes, this is not something that i plan to keep doing regularly, but i did do a bleach bag on my hair and, like i said, y'all, probably can't really tell on camera um. I do have my ring light in front of me, but i don't have it on like full brightness. Let me see, i guess if i turn the brightness up, you can definitely see it a bit but, like i said i did not want it to be. Like super blonde, like my highlighted pieces, i just wanted my brown to just be. You know a little lighter and a little more noticeable. The next thing i want to talk about you guys can't probably can't tell because i have my hair styled up, but i feel, like i had a little growth spurt. So obviously, even though i have lock extensions, my natural hair and my real hair, my real locks will continue to grow and i have noticed like a slight difference in the length of my locs they're, definitely hanging a little longer now again, it's very subtle. So it's not like a drastic change, but just something that i personally noticed how my locs hang, especially when they're wet, i feel like they look super long um. But yes, that's! The next thing. I have noticed a little growth in my hair with my loc extensions and then the last thing, for this lock update is that i have recently tried a few new products. If you watch my must have products for locs, i suggest you go watch it. I told you guys how much i love the talia, why he brand and how i love the african healing oil, so i decided to try some more products from that brand, so the first product that i have been using is the talia waheed protective styles oil. This strengthens conditions and repairs. It'S the go: hair, go bamboo and coconut milk with coconut oil and sweet almond oil growth, oil, that's a lot of oils in one sentence, but the products and as y'all can see i've been using it because i feel, like i maybe got this a couple weeks Ago - and it's already down here so yes, i have been using this um products every day. Is it making my hair grow? I have no idea, but i just love the way that it makes my hair feel. I love the way that it makes my scalp feel it has like almost like a cooling, not quite tingly, but like a cooling kind of tingly sensation as you allow it to sit in your hair um. It makes your hair soft and yes, i have been loving this oil in combination with my talia waheed african healing oil, and then, if you watch my recent retwist with me, video um, i did try out a new retwisting product and that is the talia waheed tight Hold so i definitely recommend you guys go check out that video, if you guys, want to see how i use this product, but in that video i told you guys that i would give you an update on my thoughts and everything with this product, so this product Can be used to define natural, curls or start and hold locks, and so that's what i used it for to retwist my locs, the cons. This is the consistency of it. It'S not quite a jelly, not quite a grease, not quite a pomade kind of like a little combination of all of those. It has a very mild scent and yes, overall, i did enjoy this product. So if you watch that video, i told you guys it was very easy to work with it wasn't too slippery, but it still gave you a nice hold um, but i came back to update you guys on like the long-term hope so initially when i first did My hair, when i first re-twisted my hair, the hold was there. However, right after i retwisted my hair, i went on a quick trip to dc and the weather was humid and hot and honestly, i wanted to really love this product. However, i don't know the hold was just underwhelming for me, so it didn't cause any flaking um. I didn't notice any buildup. Overall, it is a really good product, but the hold was just underwhelming. I feel like my retweets did not last as long as i would have expected it to um right now. My hair is styled up. I wore my hair down with the fresh retwist for a week and the way that my hair was going. I knew that i had a good two to three business days before that retwist was done. For so that's why i decided to go ahead and style, my hair, so i can at least get another week out of the retwist but yeah. I just feel like the re-twist did not last. I took some pictures so i'll insert a couple of pictures, so you guys can see how it was looking after this is after these pictures are, after a week, um outside of just being in a humid environment. I don't feel like i did anything super strenuous to my hair. I didn't do any strenuous activities. I mean i worked out once so. I probably sweated my scalp out once i don't know. I just feel like the hole. Wasn'T that good. Well, i use the product again, absolutely next time i use it. I will more than likely retwist my hair and go straight into a style. However, i'm definitely not in a rush to repurchase it i mean i'm going to give it a few more tries, but once i'm finished with it we'll see on, if i repurchase it um a few of you commented on that video saying you guys, love it um. How great of a product it is, and i don't doubt that it's not a great product, especially like health-wise, for your locs, but it just did not give me the hold that i was looking for. I feel like i could have got the same results in the same hole with like a oil retwist or a aloe vera, gel retwist. So yeah, i don't hate this product, but i don't absolutely love it either before i style my hair up, i did go ahead and get a texture shop for you, guys, which i will insert shortly and yeah as far as this style goes. I did film this as well, so you guys will be getting a tutorial on this style very soon as well. But yeah here is how my hair looks once it's down. Here. Is a texture shot of my hair? How my locs are progressing and all of that good stuff do? I have had one lock that keeps slipping out. Most of my locks have been doing good. I haven't had any slippage like i had in the first month, but it's one lock in particular that keeps sliding right on out that i have to keep putting back in, but overall my hair is doing very well. I am still very much pleased very much in love with my loc extension, so yeah that is going to be it for this lock extensions update video. Thank you all so much for tuning in don't forget to like share comment and subscribe. Follow me on instagram snatch by charmail, and i will see you all in my next video bye. You
