Hi I'm Lacey Rodriguez and I have a special video today, because I have my mom and my sister and they're gon na get a topper and we're gon na go, get it customized, so I can show you start to finish how this process looks. Okay. This is a medium Cleo from dimples dimples hair. It'S just this kind of smaller cap, it's three inches by six and a half inches long, and it's got these four Clips. This is going to be perfect for my mom. The color match is actually spot on same color as mine, yeah yeah. This is also a dimples topper, but this is actually a synthetic, so it's heat resistant, we're gon na be able to play with it and style it. It'S really long. When you pull these out of the bag just keep in mind, this is like a blank canvas, we're going to take it to the stylus today, get it all cut and blend it in, because it's synthetic we can't dye it, but we can cut it to blend It in with her hair and give it a cute shape. This is my sister Amy she's. This is also a Clio. This is the Clio s, the small cap, the cap measures two and a half inches across and five inches from front to back four Clips. This one has a little baby clip in the front, and this is going to be interesting. This is also synthetic, so we can't color it, but my sister really likes blonde she's we're gon na actually color her hair to match this. We'Re not gon na have to change her hair too much to match this, because it's going to be covering a lot of the top layer of her hair, but we're just gon na probably change the root color a little, because the roots don't quite match and that's The most important part so come with us to the salon my friend Lindsay's gon na customize these. For us she does all my toppers. So what we're going to do with this is because the roots are lighter than hers. Um we're gon na sit. It really close. We'Ve decided that's where she's gon na part it right next to her widow's peak and we're gon na sit it right on the part right there and then she's gon na lighten some bright money pieces right here in the front that'll blend in a lot better and That way, we don't have to mess too much with her Roots, it'll be covering the rest of her Roots. She won't have to lighten all of them to make it match, and this piece probably needs to be parted right straight down the middle. So, wherever you're going to put your part, that's where you want to clip it in and have it cut? Okay, so my mom is going to wear a left part and we're gon na also part it down the center of the piece and then set the piece on her part and cut. It it'll be a little bit crooked because it's not sitting in the middle. It'S sitting on a part, but that's the way it'll be cut and that's the way it'll sit once it's all done. Thank you. Thank you. We'Re back. After a couple of months of my mom and my sister kind of wearing their Toppers playing with them, um learning how to wear them and I've got some pretty good updates, along with a couple of tricks that I think help making. Um Toppers blend better and synthetic Toppers work better for you. So let me show you kind of the update with both my mom and my sister, and you can see how they've worked for them and how we were able to kind of adjust and modify things to make them work best. Okay, we're back after a few weeks of wearing the top or playing with it um. She had a little bit of grow out on her roots, and so I found a really cool hack. This me, Cosmetics, scalp Foundation, is awesome, came with this bro or you can buy this brush with it, and we just put a little bit on her kind of silver Roots here in the front, and it really is almost exactly the same color as the root on The topper, so she can do that as her hair kind of her Roots grow out a little bit. She can use something like that and it'll help blend it to put your head down a little bit, help blend it so much better with the topper root color. So cool hack for that, okay, I'm gon na clip this on and show you the placement and how we worked with her widow's peak so turn towards the camera. Okay, she has a pretty steep widow's peak, which sometimes can be a little bit harder with Toppers, but it works really great if you part it to the side of the widow's peak and then you're going to clip this topper, especially because it's such a small one. You don't have to put this in the center. I would put it right off center and clip it in right behind the widow's peak so that you can pull this out and kind of go up over the topper it'll help a lot with the blend. So this one has got four Clips, one in the front two on the sides and one in the back and then when you get that on, you want to take your comb and really blend in the front blend in those hairs kind of you can brush them Forward and then brush them up over the top and then you'll want to blend the topper hair with your bio hair, which is a brush okay, that'll kind of come in show how see this little swoosh in the front with that widow's peak. That'S the benefit of the widow's peak is that it can really cover the rim of the topper. Okay, now put your head down and making sure your root colors match up is so helpful. When these were silver, they don't match the same root. So it's a little bit more kind of a giveaway that it's a Topper but matching those roots with that powder helped. So much and I did it before I put the topper on and then I didn't have to do all your roots, just kind of back to a little bit past the topper. But how do you feel about it so far you've been wearing it? I love it. Yeah, yes, I love it. I really do it's so fun to be able to just clip in your hair right. It takes minimal styling. Underneath how do you feel about like the synthetic? Do you feel like it still looks realistic? Yes yeah. I don't feel like people can tell that I'm wearing a Topper at all and I used to worry. I was really worried about how it would feel yeah that it would bug me, but I don't even feel it once it's on so awesome. I love that - and this is the smallest topper, that they have Cleo s, which is their small cap. It'S two and a half by five inches so for somebody like Amy who she doesn't have like a ton of hair loss. She'S still got a good amount on top that she can clip into comfortably. Then this size is great. It'S just like the minimal amount of hair, but just enough to give you like she's, got a lot more blonde on the topper than on her hair, and it looks it looks beautiful. So let's do a little do a little 360 for it. Okay, keep going! Okay, just stop right here for a second underneath. Her roots are much darker right, but she really likes the blonde. This way she doesn't have to be bleaching her hair, all the time she can get the blonde without all the maintenance. Okay, keep turning and because it's so affordable she'll have to replace it a little more often because it's synthetic right, synthetic's gon na wear out a little bit. The ends will get a little bit kind of frizzy, the more you the more you brush on it when you're pulling on those strands. They'Ll start to kind of curly, cue they'll start to get a little frayed and Frizzy looking, but these are um. These are heat friendly, so you can use a low setting on like your flat iron to kind of go over. I usually I use a comb to make sure all the ends are going. The way you want them to go um. I wouldn't change up the style too much. You could add some curls with a curling iron, but again like a low setting and then just kind of go over the ends a little bit to get those frayed pieces to go straight and it fixes all of that. Thank you for being our beautiful model. Sis. Thank you. Thank you for making it, so I can go out easily without having to do hair yeah two hours. It'S nice back with my mom she's got her medium sized topper in, and I'm going to show you a few tricks to make this work and kind of talk to you about cap sizes and what's going to work for who so one of the things you'll notice With synthetic fibers is a lot of time, they're a little bit shinier than regular human hair, so my best trick for that is just use. Some dry shampoo, so turn around a little bit um. Actually, let's show the back, because I think it'll be easiest. So this one she's been wearing a little bit. We probably put a little dry shampoo, so it's not too bad, but if it is shiny, just do a light mist of dry shampoo over it and it'll dull that shine a lot. You want to use a light dry shampoo, don't use something that makes your hair too sticky or grippy or gritty um, because that's just going to make the topper dirty, but just a little bit is going to get rid of that shine. My next trick - and I do this on all Toppers synthetic or not - is put your head down just a little bit. If you have an issue with this transition, it really depends on what your hairline looks like, I always suggest using fibers. You want to match your root, color and um. This one is from sure thick, it's a gravity pump, so you have to flip it over and just do a little poof right on that transition, and it's amazing how much it just makes the the transition between your hair and the topper so much more seamless, um. Just a little teeny, tiny poof, what they do, the fibers will stick to the hair and kind of fluff it out, so it just makes it look a little bit thicker when we first got this piece for my mom. I was a little bit worried because I know how sensitive her head is and I hate clipping anything into her head because I'm terrified I'm going to hurt her. So I knew I was a little bit nervous that the smaller cap - it's a medium, but it's a little bit smaller than their large size, was going to be a little bit too small for her. So tell us how it went like the first time versus like the second time. Well, the first time I wore it. I didn't feel it at all and I wore it all day long and I have a I'm hypersensitive, my scalp. I can't even explain how sensitive I can't wear hats. I can't wear a ponytail, I can't um. I can't have anybody play with my hair. I can't do anything like that. That'S how hypersensitive it is, and it just gets worse over time. Sometimes I don't do anything and my head hurts but um the first day I wore it. It was great, I didn't feel it at all and right now it feels pretty good. I can just kind of barely feel this right in the front. I think it's just because it's right there in the front, I'm really tender, really tender right in the front and right on the crown and anyway, so I can just fill it just a little bit the second time I wore it. I you know, I think I just needed to practice because it just it bothered me all day. I had to just take it off and you know I just I would put it on and put it off, but I think I just did a little too much and trying to get it to not hurt at all. So I don't know I I don't know what the answer is. I just think it's gon na be um. I just can't mess with it as much as I did so. Definitely when you're first learning to wear a Topper, we have a tendency of messing with it. A lot it's like we're, we're constantly trying to adjust it or, like you know it might feel pinching. So we kind of move the clips. So I was telling her my really my best recommendation is number one. It'S going to take practice to get it's like a muscle memory where you're going to clip it into um, but the more we mess with it, the more it's gon na hurt, and so, if you get it on - and it's just not quite right, you feel like You need to adjust it. I always recommend just taking the whole thing off and starting over because the more you you adjust it while it's clipped in on the other Clips, the more you're gon na get hair matted in those clips, then you got to take it off and it really will Hurt - and that is what happened to me - I I would just try to fix the front clip and then anyway yeah it was so. I think that that's for sure one thing that would help us over time. You get better at clipping it in, and you don't have to adjust it as much, but especially for somebody that is as sensitive as she is on her scalp and she does have a little bit of hair loss along her. Her part line, which is exactly where this Clips in so personally, I feel like she's, not the best candidate for this size, she loved the amount of hair. It was, though, because it's a very small amount of hair. It'S just right. If you just need like a little boost right um, but because her part is a little bit thinner, I think um. She would actually do better with a large size cap which I hear the rumor is, is coming really soon in the synthetic option. I would say for the vast majority of people that just need a little bit that have enough hair to clip into and aren't like crazy tender headed um. This would still work just Grace right now. It feels good yeah in order to take really good care of your synthetic piece you're going to want to get some of this fiber oil conditioner spray. It works amazingly well as a detangler, so you're doing less damage. So your piece is going to last a little longer also get some shampoo and conditioner, because they're specific for these pieces I'll have all those Linked In the description box. So, if you're on the hunt for a really affordable piece or if you're, looking for something synthetic um specifically, these Toppers are amazing they're all hand tied. I love the cap, construction of them they're so thin. Just like they're human hair pieces, I've reviewed in the past. They have that really thin Ridge that sits super flat. They have really beautiful color options. You want to make sure, though, that your color match is pretty spot on, because it's synthetic you can't color it, so you can actually order a synthetic color ring from them and see what color matches you yours best and then send it back and you'll be refunded. The most important part of the color is the root you want to make sure your roots match as close as possible. If it doesn't work perfectly, there are ways like we did with my sister to kind of get around to make the the root colors match. I do believe that dimples is coming out with the large cap size in the synthetic as well, so keep an eye out for that for anybody who has a little bit more advanced hair loss. Like me, I would love the large cap size in the synthetic. What I love about, dimples really is that all of their pieces, all of their Toppers, whether they're human hair or synthetic all of their wigs, come in the same 10 colors. So all of my pieces from them are the color nutmeg rooted, and I love that I can have like my mono top. I can have my silk top. I can have a synthetic piece all the same color. Thank you so much for being here and watching um. I hope that you'll consider subscribing to this channel if you're, really interested in learning more about hair, Toppers and hair loss make sure you watch this video, which is my review of this piece from dimples. It'S actually a human hair piece, but they'll be coming out with a synthetic version of it really soon. Thanks again and I'll see you in the next video
