Hey guys welcome back to my youtube channel today, i'm doing something a little different. This is a tick tock. The other day of me just doing a city, girls make a wish like ray j. I thought i would just make the most of it and kind of do an actual tutorial and show you how to achieve the slick. Ponytail look so, first and foremost, you want to start off with some freshly washed hair. You want to comb that bad boy out. I don't actually know what my hair is, whether it's 4c 5a. I don't know what it is. So if you know, let me know you're going to need i'll, be honest with you guys. I just picked some bundles off of some old, wigs and you're only going to need about maybe two bundles. I think this is you are going to need gummy wax for your edges. Gummy wax is just i'm yet to find another edge control that slicks my edges. The way this does, i just use eco styler for the back of my hair and the top of my hair. Just because i feel like gummy wax everywhere is just a bit too raw. It depends how long you're, keeping the ponytail in i like to take my ponytail out at the end of the night, because all hair eggs are real. But if i was doing something that i needed to hold for days, i'd probably use gummy wax for the whole thing. Eco styler is like a soft gel, so um, you just need to lay it and it will lay flat. You also need someone got to be a scarf to lay your hair. I like to use this serum for my bundles yeah this this serum right here. If you don't know about it, get to know you're, obviously going to need a brush, this kind of brush for your bundles toothbrush for your edges, oh yeah, and bobby pins for your bundles. If there's anything, i've forgotten i'll mention it throughout the video. Oh and a parting comb, i usually like to just heart some hair here, so that when our ponytail is ready, we can just straighten this and have two little bangs or whatever and always like check, because, as you can see, there's more hair on one side. Right now than the other just adjust it to, however, you want it to be. Basically, this is like the most important part. You need it to look right at the end. You don't want to be looking like you have one lopsided something but yeah once you're happy with that. You just twist that up and pin it, because i don't want it to be in the way honey you know so now. We'Ve got that the way we can move on to the body of the hair. Okay, let me apologize for my appearance, i'm doing a video afterwards, so i'm not gon na. Do my makeup twice? Okay, so you can use a normal hair band, but i like to use thick hair bands yuck. This is the story of my life. Sometimes i like to straighten the edges of my hair um, just for like a softer finish, but you don't have to do that. So what i like to do next is apply some eco styler around the perimeter of my hair. You want to get enough to cover your hands apply as you like. I don't like to put it on like my actual edges, because we are going to put some wax there and a combination of the two gels. It'S not it's not the end of the world, but i just prefer to just put it just close to the edge, but not on the actual edge and then i'll just get a bit more for the back. I'Ll probably show you the action and don't forget the sides too, and then you just want to brush it in there we go and then what i do usually is just tie up loosely so that i can do my edges before i put my hair up. You can do your edges after you put your hair up, but when it's in the ponytail, because it's so tight, it's just hard to move around, so i prefer to do it beforehand. Okay, cool! So we're just going to go in and apply the wax to our edges and massage it all in and then just do your edges. However, you like to do your edges: do it that it's just way hard to do and if you can so now that the edges are done, you just want to take your brush and this part is vital, because once you tie your hair up and you've laid It like there's no going back. Okay, so make sure you're brushing with depth that you're literally going in. I always feel like i've aced this part and then, when my hair's done, there'll just be one bit sticking out for no reason. So what we're not gon na do is embarrass me, okay, edges. Thank you very much. It'S always hard to gauge whereabouts. It should be tied, but i try and aim for like the top of my head, not too on top, because you don't want to look like a unicorn, okay, yeah i like to do it on the i like to make sure it's tight, because when it's loose, That'S when your hair just starts coming out and the glasses um, so what you want to do next apply your hair and tie it with a rubber band um. So, as you can see, my edges have started lifting off and we do not want that. So before you cover it up, you just want to. I guess: go in again with a little bit of gel. If you need to and then go in with got to be, you can obviously also use hairspray, but i'm all out. So probably it is, and then you just want to cover the rest of your head so that whilst we are working on the tail, our hair is laying flat. I don't have any black flower bands, unfortunately, so i'm just going to work with what i've got and now onto the bundles. As you can see, we've got the tip here, so you want to get the end of the weft and you want to put your bobby pin this way around so going down, and then you just want to put it through your hair and then through the rubber Band and that way it just holds like that, and then you just want to start wrapping around. So if it depends how many bundles you have, you can do it quite tight and quite close together when you're twisting it round. If you had less bundles, then i would suggest wrapping it around not as closely make sure when you're wrapping it around it's tightly wrapped. You can also put in some bobby pins along the way just for extra security. Now, when you get to the end of the weft, you just want to get another pin, and just there clip it down, and at this point, if you like, you can straighten some of the hair. These straighteners, like these remington straighteners in general, i think, are the best um i used to bang out ghd's. They bang them out. Okay again, so you just want to get that clip down and then just pop it into your braid start. Wrapping it around again right great so we've so we've got to the end before having to wrap it around and the wrap round is what we'll leave the last bundle to just want to clip that and again you want to brush it and go through it with Your straighteners, if you wish so the last one you just want to wrap it around like so and now we're wrapping it around the hair band. Okay, so now that we've wrapped it around the hairband, you just want to get these last few bits right here. It doesn't have to be too long. You don't want it to be too much just get a little part and then grab the hair like. So let me just take this stuff off. I like to take this off off at the end, but because i want to show you guys what it looks like i'll. Take it off now: okay, edges. What you want to do is get this part of the hair. Wanna wrap it around like this. Don'T worry about how your ponytail is standing up, so you just want to wrap it around like so, and what i like to do is get some to be sprayed. It sticks and then again then the last bit you can just tuck it in and get another pin and then you just want to brush your ponytail out shape it. Remember it's just a braid in there, so you can adjust how you want it to sit but yeah. You look look at the back of my hair, please. The back of my hair does not want me to be great. Let me tell you that, for free and also with the body of the ponytail, you don't want any of the pins to be sticking out. Then the last bit you just want to get some serum, apply it to your real hair and then use your straighteners. I like to do this in parts so that it really is as flat as it can be and make sure those front struggling edges are also patterned. I'M not embarrassing you and if this one is longer than this one annoying, but it's okay, it's still cute! That'S how we get a slick, so any bits sticking out you just want to get some gummy wax and just apply it with those flyaways that don't need to be great and we are now good to go. What you can also do is give yourself a flick at the end. That is all thank you, so so much for watching. Please like share comment subscribe and let me know what hair look you want to see. Next,
